Okay.

I get what the author was trying to do with the plot of this book- a spicy, dark, “urban”, romance featuring Honey who’s still dealing with the aftermath of a bad divorce and down on her luck meeting gun-running kingpin Danger, and falling in lust and eventually love. The pacing to me was a little off and there were all sorts of plot points that I think could have been developed further- e.g. Honey’s relationship with her mother, her ambitions for herself, the assault incident, understanding what exactly it was that Tevin, her ex-husband wanted, what Danger liked about Honey really and vice-versa (other than money and 🍑🍑…. In addition, this needed a solid round of editing- taking out the wrong usage of words and even some mix up repetition with the chapter at the end.

All of that said, for the story for what it was and the spice, this wasn’t too bad. I think the bones are there, it just wasn’t very polished.

Honey and Danger

When Honey met Danger the circumstance behind the meeting was intense. Honey was fresh from a recent divorce with her cheating, doggish husband. And Danger had the correct name, he was meaner than a rattlesnake, yet hotter than the Serengeti in his appearance. I could not quite tell whether Honey was overweight or just curvy. The author vacillated in her descriptions. Overall, the story was good.

Loved it!

I couldn't get enough of Danger and Honey! I could just sit and read about them all day. They were so cute together and a good balance for each other. I was so sad that it ended! Awesome read😊

4.35. I loved that it was a standalone. The story flowed well but at the end felt rushed to finish up, I wanted a bit more. Danger was vibe/book bae. He saw what he wanted and went for it. I wished we got a bit more of them together and Honey out her shell but still a good book. 👍read

uhhhh

Too many grammatical errors which was beyond distracting. Also I can’t stand a weak FMC and Honey was exactly that.

Can we get a better book outside of “she’s fat but he likes her”!

This story was already not the best written and included quite a few inconsistencies but I realky put it down once every other sentence had something to do with the main character being plus size.

I’m so tired of reading books where the protagonist is a bigger girl and the author has written every other sentence and every other character to make comments about how “she’s not like the other big girls because she’s big but not sloppy”. “She’ll be cuter once she loses weight”, etc etc etc.

Like please give it up! If writing a plus size protagonist her whole character does not have to surround insecurity because she’s plus size (then the “plus size” at hand is size 16 🙄) and if that’s a specific plot point - it def has to be flushed out better than sentences that sound like “Once she loses her stomach pudge she’ll be cute!”

At a certain point you wonder if the author is just fatphobic. If y’all want to write plus size characters y’all have to be way more intentional to write them the same way y’all write non-plus size characters. Flush them out, make them human, make them well rounded characters who think about more than being plus size. The whole book was full of characters fat shaming with a “but she’s pretty” like eew hang it up.

I had a few issues with this story but overall, I enjoyed the characters.

There are four perspectives in Warm Honey, which threw me for a loop because the synopsis only mentions Danger and Honey. I was interested in Keegan and Deja’s story and relationship, but I wish they had their own book — that way we could’ve gotten character development for everyone and maybe some inconsistencies would’ve been worked out.

To be honest, I became more interested in Keegan and Deja’s storyline than Danger and Honey’s. With the latter, I don’t even know why they’re together. It just felt like they’re attracted to each other and the sex was bomb and that’s it. With Keegan and Deja, I could understand their feelings toward each other and sympathized with them.

Honey had some messed up stuff happen to her thanks to her ex and mom, and Danger was her knight in shining armor. But like after the last incident between Honey and Tevin, homegirl should’ve been way more shook up than she was. (Also that came way out of left field for me. My mouth literally dropped while reading it. Like I understood Tevin was a terrible person, but I didn’t realize he was that terrible.)

Lastly, there are a few grammatical errors and misspellings. I chose to ignore them after a while because I was really interested in what was happening with the characters.

I can see this was an old release, I can really tell the growth in knicoles writing. This book had a good plot and story line however there were so many awkward moments in the book. Things said that just didn’t go. There were a lot of grammatical errors but not enough to be frustrating. It seemed like the chapters were ending suddenly. There was nothing to really end them. The characters were just weird at times. And it seems like everyone had this obsession with Honey looking good if she got rid of her stomach or toned it up. It was weird. Characters were in the story and then they weren’t. Like honeys mom, dangers dad. They were just lost in the wind.

Good read

This my first read by this author and I wasn't disappointed. Danger was brutally honest and I freaking love it. It's something about a thuggish ruggish man that I can't get enough of. Honey I guess you can say was at the wrong place at the right time. Her ex WTH was his problem like dude you cheated married your mistress and now you want to come and mess with her. He needed to go. Deja and Keegan their relationship was cute. I didn't see that coming. Overall good read

Danger awaits!

Who would’ve thought that a late night run would put you in the path of danger and create a love affair as well. This was the first book that I’ve read by this author and I really enjoyed it. I actually rate the book as a 4.5. Danger could be loving one minute and ruthless the next. I loved him and Honey together, but wish that there was more focus in the end about their relationship. I’d definitely recommend this book to read and am looking forward to reading more of her work.

You Better Be Glad That You're Fine Baby

Honey was at her lowest from the way that Tevin cheated on her with and married Val and all she wanted was some icecream when she saw Danger shoot Marco. Danger literally barged his way into Honey's life, walls, and heart. It crazy how two people can be in a relationship with other people while in love with each other and that was the case with Keegan and Deja but they made the decision to choose each other. This was a crazy book that I enjoyed every page of.

This was my first time reading a book by this author. I enjoyed the book overall, but there were grammar and spelling errors that prevented the story from flowing smoothly. I wish there had been more of a build up to a relationship between Danger and Honey. It didn’t even seem like they were even in one. The chemistry was definitely there, but I did not feel a solid connection. There were many things in this book I wish the author had expounded up. Nevertheless, I did like the story. I was not bored with it at all. I just wanted more.

Damn! What an introduction! Danger and Honey's meeting was one like I've never seen before, but there was instant energy between the two. Danger was a boss! Loved seeing him be so gentle with Honey, as he got to know her. Honey was a good woman, who didn't deserve the way she was treated. She needed just what Danger had to offer her. There was the perfect amount of drama, with Danger's friends, to keep it interesting as well. Enjoyable read! 👍👍👍

Enjoyable story

I love a good standalone. This is my 1st time reading this author. I enjoyed the storyline and flow of the book. The storyline was a little different than the norm. I really liked Danger and Honey. He handled business and she needed that. The other characters were interesting too. My only complaint is the grammatical errors. They seemed to continually get worst the further I read. I will try more of this author's work in the future.

It was ok

Initially, I was intrigued by the unconventional way Danger and Honey met but that was it. There was no character development. There were inconsistencies in the story. For example Danger loved in an apartment building but Honey was concerned about a car in his driveway. There were also several grammatical errors, missing words, and misused words.

Also, didn't like how a major trauma happened to Honey and it was ignored. Like didn't know how she felt about it.

I couldn’t book this book down

Danger and Honey sitting in a tree….This was a cute standalone. Honey met Danger because she saw him kill someone. He followed her into her apartment…He couldn’t get her off his mind. Honey ex husband was a liar and cheater. I hate how she had a moment of weakness and slept with him. Tevin deserved to die after raping Honey. So dont think twice just read the book

⭐️

My opinion is similar to all others who mentioned the number of errors.

If this was a first draft, I would say this was a solid start. But so many things needed to be flushed out more.

Introducing new plots and not closing out others is confusing. For example: Honey’s mom was mentioned and not much came of it. Why bring those details to the story, if it wouldn’t connect to something else?!

i’m confused on this book being rated so high. while the characters were decent, the writing sucked. there was SO MANY grammatical errors. did she not have any editors??? my goodness, the amount of errors really upset me. also, idc how mature a 6 year old, she ain’t sounding like she’s 14. just not really realistic. then the ending was hella rushed. with it being only 180 pages, why’d you rush the ending like that???? just, ew. i genuinely hated the ending.

Good read

I love good standalones. The whole Deja/Keegan/Jenn situation was interesting. They seemingly came out of nowhere. Danger was not to be played with. I liked the way he dealt with Tevin and pretty much anyone that wronged him. Tevin was a sucka. Honey seemed sweet and deserving of a good love story!

Really good story

This was a really good storyline. I loved the unconventional way that Danger and Honey met. The story was different from the norm which I enjoyed. The authors writing style flowed really well. But the editing issues almost killed it for me. Missing words, incorrect words and words missing letters.

Well this book was not what I expected but I enjoyed it the ending was less than desirable I wanted more. Still some unanswered questions but a definite page turning as my first read from this author I am intrigued enough to read another one of her stories.

Good men still exist

Danger is a funny man. I know Honey had to be going crazy. How you going to murder someone in front of me then chase me down then give me my ice cream I dropped. Smh. I’m glad she didn’t let that deter her from getting to know him. Deja and Keegan are something else. Overall it’s a good book

Imagine you watched someone get killed then the next day the killer sends on a friend request on fb. 4 ⭐️ off vibes. I enjoyed the light hearted moments. Some parts seemed rushed. My kindle version had a repeated chapter but it just kinda ends. I was also invested in Keegan and Deja. Overall I did enjoy the story.

Good storyline , needs editing badly

I enjoyed the story but there were inconsistencies. First the daughter was nine, then a few chapters later she was six. In the same scene Honey was wearing nightgown then a few paragraphs later it was a shirt. There was also a whole section of the book that repeated itself.

Good book

While this book had its moments, it was ultimately marred by some significant flaws. The writing was often plagued by grammatical errors, and the conclusion felt rushed, particularly in the handling of Keegan's storyline. Despite these shortcomings, the book still managed to be somewhat enjoyable, albeit not without its frustrations.

Exciting and straight to the plot

I liked the how the author didn't make this a long and drawn out story. It was short and to the point. I loved the characters as well without giving out too much information!!

HONEY

This was a good book for people, like me, who are unfamiliar with Urban fiction. Honey is a sweetheart and Danger, although dangerous, is sweet for her.

I enjoyed the dual storyline with Deja and Keenan and the kids added levity.

the way this book had me intrigued all to get to the end and it just "ended" ... it was good dont get me wrong but rushed at the end... like part 2 would have been great
