I’m a huge fan of Scott Cook’s books. The author always delights readers with his great ability to create intriguing and faction-packed plots together with a detailed description of settings and interesting characters. In this new instalment of the series that has private investigator Scott Jarvis as its protagonists, Cook takes us to the exotic and scenic Costa Rica where Jarvis travels to meet his good friend Clay and have some time off. But, he will get involved in a ferocious and dangerous fight for control. A multi millionaire and his ex wife are battling to gain control over their green technology company, when this fight promises to escalate out of control, Jarvis will have to save his friend and Clay’s family.
This is the seventh book out of eleven that compose this series. Luckily there are a lot more of these intriguing, mysterious and well-written stories. I recommend it.

A Fortune in Blood is my eighth read from author Scott Cook and I have to say that I enjoyed all of his books. He is an excellent and talented writer who, as in other opportunities, told a good story, with vivid characters which made me feel part of the action.
I found this book thoroughly entertaining and I adored the settings and information on geography. The tropical jungles of Central America are the perfect scenarios for this non-stop mystery adventure. Also, the characters appeared to have realistic personalities. The story line was both captivating and engrossing.
I liked this piece, and the heroic efforts, but I have to withhold one star because the frequent repeats of conspiracy tended to slow down the action. That doesn’t mean that I won’t eagerly wait for the next book, because I’m still a big fan.

Mystery and Intrigue!

A tale of mystery taking place in a land I do not hear of often is what had me interested in this book. PI Scott Jarvis is able to get his life into some sort of order after going on a search for a German U-boat. Miles and his ex-wife are in a multi-million-dollar battle for their company. Clay and his family get pulled into another struggle for power that could potentially expose some secrets. Jarvis has to go muddle through lies and deceptions to find the truth. An exciting book with plenty of action and intrigue, I could not put it down. I wanted to see if Jarvis could get to the bottom of the situation before any casualties came about. A really great read! I would recommend it to anyone!

“A Fortune in Blood: A Florida Action Adventure Novel” is the seventh book in the Private Investigator series by author Scott Cook. It is an amazing action adventure and thriller series.

Cook writes intensely with vivid imagery and includes scene details that led me on a fantastic imaginary journey and easily involved me in the action and mystery of the plot. Also, the pacing moved steadily fast in successions of adventure scenes. I mean, it is a plot that is just laced with intrigue and suspense, and the information and reveals trickle in at a maddening pace that should keep any reader biting their nails throughout the course of this gripping tale.

The book, ‘A Fortune in Blood: A Florida Action Adventure Novel’ by Scott Cook, follows private investigator Scott Jarvis on his trip to Costa Rica to visit his friend Clay. Through a turn of events, Scott Jarvis finds himself in the middle of a power struggle between estranged spouses fighting for control of a green tech company. Like Scott Cook’s other books, this one is filled with adventure, action, and surprises along the way. It’s very detailed and Scott Cook does a great job of setting the scene and pulling the reader right into the action. It’s well written and easy to follow. Another book I’d recommend to those who enjoy adventure and action.

I really enjoyed reading A Fortune in Blood, a marvelous mystery adventure novel, written by Providence author Scott W. Cook.

The story is set in beautiful Costa Rica, where private investigator Scott Jarvis embarks on an adventure of a life time and barely makes it alive. The characters in this story feel so real, I didn't just read the book, I felt immersed in it.

This author keeps getting better and better. Once again, Scott wrote another intricate story that kept me on the edge of my seat. He is excellent at weaving stories that instantly captivates his audience and keep you glued until the end. Five stars all the way!

Another enjoyable story

Interesting plot with a lot of old friends . The ecological subplot held up and made it relevant. I would recommend a bit more thorough editing, some words are similar sounding but not quite right.

Don't let the dog die!

I love this series. I can loose myself in an absolutely intriguing story and leave the reality of life behind... At least for a little while. So keep up the good work, Mr. Cook. Just don't ever kill the dog.
