A great Christmas in July literary escape and just as enthralling the second time 'round. This time I listened to the audio edition (currently on sale at Chirp) narrated by Cindy Pillar.

------

Cue the creepy music and clear your calendar because you're gonna want to race right through this enthralling romantic suspense. Phew -- that opening scene screams desperate and afraid! I get chills just thinking about it! Fast paced and edgy -- but not too edgy -- Shannon takes her readers on a breathless death defying search for an -- eeeep -- serial killer.

Love the connection Bennett and Emilia have -- but, oh, the heartache it's wrapped up in. They were coworkers and friends until Emilia nearly died at the hands of a notorious killer they had been investigating. The case closed a year ago...or so they thought...but someone has Emilia in their sightlines again this Christmas and it all seems eerily familiar.

The 'kinda' reunion romance is just as gripping as the suspense and both kept me on edge until the very last page. A tremendously satisfying read for fans who enjoy Love Inspired Suspense...with a kick!

Oh, and while this is the fourth book in the Texas Ranger Heroes series, I read it out of order with no problems. I started with the first book but then skipped ahead to this one because of the Christmastime setting but you can be sure I'll backtrack to books #2 and #3 and then I'll be anxiously awaiting the fifth book which doesn't have a release date yet. :-( Love when I connect to a series that encourages me to dive right in and rabid-read my way through all the books.

MY TAKE
Trying to catch a serial killer is scary enough, but when one of the police officers on the case was a victim who'd escaped his clutches ... Freaky!

Ben and Emilia are engaging characters and have the added connection that he's the one who found her after she'd escaped from the serial killer the year before. She went back to her job and therapy, etc., but she's back when the supposedly dead killer leaves a threatening message for her.

A compelling story follows as Ben and Em must discover what law enforcement missed, all while falling in love and trying to stay alive.

Last Christmas, profiler, Emilia Sanchez barely escaped a serial killer and has been struggling to move on. She wants to forget and get back to normal. However, when she receives a poinsettia with a threatening note attached, she realizes the danger may not be over. Texas Ranger, Bennett Knox helped save Emilia last year. They had become close friends prior to the incident but now Bennett brings back terrible memories for her. When a new murder happens, mirroring the serial killer's work from last Christmas, Emilia and Bennett team up to solve the case. Was there another killer last Christmas? Or was someone following in the killer's footsteps?

This is the 4th book in the Texas Ranger Hero series but it can be read without reading the others first. While this is set at Christmas, I wouldn't really consider this a Christmas book. I still enjoyed this story as I do all Lynn Shannon books because I know exactly what I am getting with her books. She always does a wonderful romance/suspense blend. I found the history that Emilia and Bennett shared to be an interesting roadblock to their relationship. They had some really sweet moments where Bennett was so protective of Emilia. And of course the faith content was also good. While the story wasn't anything that stands out, I can always count on Lynn Shannon to deliver exactly what I'm expecting: a protective MMC, a sweet romance, great faith, and excellent suspense. I love to read her books as a palette cleanser when I hit a reading slump. All in all, a fun novella sized suspense with sweet romance blended in.

I love this series all set in the world of the Texas Ranger and in this latest installment we get the story of criminal profiler Emilia Sanchez and Texas Ranger Bennett Knox

These two have history about a year earlier Bennett had rescued Emilia from the clutches of a serial killer now she has received flowers that may be involved with the case Bennett also has his suspicions about the case but never wanted to contact Emilia about it as he knows he is a reminder of what she went through They join together to try to work out what is going on and in the process they start to develop feelings for one another The problem is that someone is determined to kill Emilia and it will be up to Bennett to keep the woman who holds his heart safe.

This is the first book I've read by this author and it was enjoyable. I liked both main characters. Bennett Knox is a Texas Ranger and Emelia Sanchez is a profiler. They worked together on a case where Emelia was kidnapped. After her rescue Emelia and Bennett didn't see each other because it brought up too many bad memories for Emelia. Now, Emelia is threatened and comes to Bennett for help. They work together to try to figure out who is after her and how it is connected to the case from a year ago. The suspense was fast paced and I pretty much read the book in one sitting because I wanted to know who was guilty. We are given a number of viable suspects and I did not figure out who did it until the author reveal. Fast-paced and enjoyable Christian romantic suspense.

Excellent Suspense...Kept Me Guessing

Once again, Lynn Shannon kept me guessing. I had a very hard time narrowing down who the criminal was, even though I pegged that person pretty early on. Well done!

Also once again... The faith element in this book, as in others, seems well balanced to me. These characters aren't perfect and don't claim to be. They live life with doubts, fears, and diificult pasts and the hand of God can be seen working in their lives in a similar way to what I've experienced in mine. I found the characters relatable on that level. On a personality/humanity level, I also found them easy to relate to and step into their shoes.

If you enjoy crime suspense, inspirational romance, and action, I'll recommend this whole series to you.

Wow, just wow! This was an intense romantic suspense full of lots of action. I stayed up way into the early morning finishing it in one reading. It is a good thing I don't have to work today. (c:

Emilia Sanchez is a special agent who was kidnapped and almost killed by a serial killer. That killer is dead but it seems like he might have had a partner who is threatening to start to kill again. When she reaches out to Texas Ranger, Bennett Knox, they are racing against the clock to find out who the killer is before he strikes again and before he harms Emilia again.

There is a sweet love story embedded in this story with lots of action and suspense but make sure you have enough time to read without interruption because you will not be able to put this book down.

This is the story of Texas Ranger Bennett Knox and Emilia the profiler... They have a history, and they are tracking down a serial killer. This book was good, watching them fight their attraction and track down a killer. It had mystery suspense, drama, and romance. We didn't see any Rangers from the other books, which I was surprised but it was still a great read... The person I thought was the killer, I was wrong. It kept me in suspense all the way till the end... I wish the book, had just a few pages more, to go with the ending but that is just a personal preference.... I do love this series! I am glad, I read this..... Great read!

Bennett Knox and Emilia had worked together before on a case involving mass murder. Once one of the killers was dead, time had passed and the killing started again. Only saved from death the first time by her cop instincts and profiling experience, as well as Bennett, Emilia ran away to focus on her work. Pulled into the present case because of her past experience, Bennett and Emilia find sloppy police work, missing case notes and pour everything into solving the re-opened case before more lives are lost. This book is a re-read for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the web of intrigue spun by Lynn Shannon. I give it a 5/5 stars for a fantastic quick read!

Book four in the series brings Texas Ranger, Bennett and profiler ,Emilia's story. They have a history and now have to work together to track down a serial killer. The author brings strong characters and weaves an intriguing story filled with drama ,suspense and a hot and steamy romance. She paints her scenes vividly and had me glued to the pages right to the end. It's well written ,moves quickly and smoothly and is a fantastic read.

A great second chance story. Emilia is a profiler and police officer that is still trying to recover after escaping a serial killer. She finds a note on her porch that indicates that the killer is still out there and goes to see a friend Texas Ranger Bennett. He is glad to see Emilia again but not under the circumstances. They liked one another before and now Emilia is afraid. Bennett is determined to help Emilia figure out what is going on and to protect her. Will he be able to?

4.5 stars.

This is the 2nd book from this series that I have read and it had me eagerly turning the pages. I loved the blend of work and family, the friendships, respect, forgiveness, understanding, acceptance and love. The story had me changing my mind many times and I loved how faith was shown throughout. A good story with strong characters, I enjoyed reading this one and would have happily spent more time with Emilila and Bennett.

Emilia was saved from a serial killer by Texas Ranger Bennett a year before they team up to try to find the killer's accomplice. Emilia can't feel safe from threats and kidnapping attempts, but she knows God is with her. When the worst happens, she continues to have faith both in God and in her Texas Ranger to save her.
This is a beautifully written and emotional love story, which is part of a wonderful series of sweet suspense books.

Ranger Faith is the fourth book in the Texas Ranger Heroes series and is a fabulous addition to the series.

I loved the characters of Texas Ranger, Bennett and Emilia, a profiler who Bennett saved in the past. This story captured my interest from start to finish with danger, drama, a serial killer, suspense, family, friendship, faith, intrigue, and romance. I cannot wait to read the next book in this captivating series.

A hornet's nest of rumors and innuendo

Is it finally Emilia and Bennett's time?
This book has it all...Bennett is reeling from heartbreak and betrayal, Emilia grew up in the foster system and has cases full of emotional baggage - even before being captured and tortured by a sadistic serial killer. But it also has an amazing family full of love, chemistry the pours from the page and hope....lots of hope.
I love both Bennett and Emilia, they are great characters who are strong and driven, but also have flaws which make them relatable, making this a fantastic read on Kindle Unlimited.

Not as good as the first 3 books

I didn't like this one as much as those preceding it. It was about another serial killer like the previous book. Some of the story details felt similar to Weston's book. There were so many characters who were all connected somehow and it became a bit confusing. Some of the characters names were mixed up a couple times. The killer in this one was a little too evil and soulless for my taste. I did like that they pray a lot for help, guidance and peace, and talk about God.

Intense

Ranger Faith is the fourth book in the Texas Ranger Heroes series. At only 176 pages, the action, intensity, danger, and...romance had to be at warp speed. Emilia escapes from a serial killer but he continues to stalk & torment her, meanwhile killing one more and taking another captive. Texas Ranger Bennett Knox works hard to protect Emilia while tracking the killer at the same time. There were loose ends, but all in all a good read. I haven't read the others in the series but this seems to be a stand alone.

Chapter 1 drew me straight in as profiler Emilia Sanchez is on the run, barely escaping the clutches of a serial killer, and is rescued by Texas Ranger Bennett Knox. One year later Emilia receives a message and poinsettia. Is it a copycat killer or did the serial killer have a partner? When the murders start up again, Emilia and Bennett team up. As they investigate, they must dig further to uncover the identity of the serial killer.
The plot was fast paced and riveting. The characters were well-written, and the author kept me guessing who the serial killer was.

Ranger Faith: Christian Romantic Suspense (Texas Ranger Heroes Book 4)

What a suspenseful read. It was impossible to put down. Emilia had been kidnapped, drugged, tied up and was fighting for her life. She finally escaped and was running through a thick forest. She could hear someone following her. Could she escape? Bennett, whom she'd been working with to try to discover who was responsible for several murders. What were the habits of serial killers? Read to find the answers!

I loved Emilia's story. As she and Bennett track down the serial killer, its really fun to see all of the police work, intrigue, hot romance and danger come to pass. I don't think that I left my chair once I started reading it. This series has become one of my favorites and I'm really looking forward to reading her next book. It's difficult to not get sucked into the plot.

Loving this series

Although this series can be read as stand-alones, they all center around law enforcement agencies and the characters faith in God. Bennett and Emilia both lost their faith in love. Bennett from a divorce and Emilia because she never had it growing up. When a killer returns, focusing on Emilia again. Bennett joins in protecting her. Can they catch the killer this time and give in to what they are feeling? Great read, action packed page turner.

Wow, just wow. Excellent storyline, well developed characters, great suspense and, oh, the romance.
The H was an alpha but one with a heart, faith and strong standards. The h was a survivor who also had a strong faith foundation.

Not a weak point in this book! It kept me awake long past my bedtime and I simply HAD to know how things turned out. I had guessed wrong (more than once) which thrills my inner detective reader.

Who is it!

Be prepared to guess once, twice...well never mind it's never right because Ms. Shannon weaves her stories so that anyone could be the perpetrator of these crimes! Throw in a Ranger determined to save the woman he loves and a profiler who is just as tenacious to save herself.
