A High School Bully Romance

I can’t decide if my new life is like something out of a fairy tale or part of an FBI most wanted episode. The constant ups and downs are worse than a damn rollercoaster. No matter how hard I try to keep my head down, life just refuses to even out for me.

Wes has turned into a doting boyfriend and bodyguard, but I’m not sure how long that can last. He has a certain reputation, after all. And every time I think things might be settling down, another curveball gets thrown my way.

This time, that curveball has a name— Kathy. She’s not a wicked step-mother, no matter what Wes and Chuck claim, but she’s had it out for me since day one. I just didn’t know how much or how bad, and now I’m strapped right back into that damn rollercoaster. All I can do now is pray it’ll be over quickly, while remaining in one piece.

Authors Note: Forrest Grove Academy is a young and new adult high school bully series. It's book two in the series and does end with a cliffhanger. It is recommended for +17 readers because of cursing and 'certain scenes.' So if you're into that kind of thing then stick around.

There were a couple of things throughout this book I didn’t really like.
For 1 the relationships in this book happened at a very aggressive pace.
Wes and Bella went from ignoring each other and being hostile one minute to confessing they were in love with each other the next. There was no in between or relationship build up it was annoying.
The same can be said for her best friends relationship with Hunter and Jaxson that seemingly came out of nowhere.
It was also very were and unrealistic how often Wes and Bella got off from over the clothing grinding.
Another plot line I didn’t care for was the mentioning of Sebastian having a drug issue. It’s brought up like once and then quickly brushed under the rug and apparently dealt with. It was an unnecessary addition when Kathy could have just been blackmailing them about his sexuality.
Lastly the book has an annoying amount of unnecessarily placed exclamation points. It’s almost as though the author didn’t know how to use them. I’m not exactly sure why that was so off point to me but it was very noticeable.

Was pretty good...
Things unfolding...
My only issue was the sex part....I mean a virgin and it didn't hurt or at least I don't remember it saying there was discomfort or anything.
Still digging the storyline though.
I do recommend this book

A great addition to story so far. Can't wait for the next book. Things are heating up with what Isabella aka Bella knows about her family history. And it ain't pretty at all... well maybe a few parts but the rest nope. Wes is being difficult and different all at the same time. That's it's just driving her nuts looking at him on a good day. The secrets in her adopted family are piling up and somethings things are just as dangerous as left unsaid as saying them out loud. What will Bella do with all the information she has at her disposal....

Secrets and Relationships and Cartels are Revealed.

In this second book in the Forrest Grove Academy, Bella and Wes are all loved up.

Adrian is also in a polygamous relationship with Hunter and Jaxson.

And
Sebastian is in a secret relationship with Todd.

So, with all this bed hopping going on what could possibly go wrong?

Well, bombshells are dropped as we find out more about Bella’s mysterious father.

Yes! Bella finally, finally bothered to use google to research Hallelujah!

Leading her to head back to. Compton, to have a little chat with BJ.
The resulting in her being followed by Wes, Jaxson and Hunter.
Once all the boys put their D’s away, they become somewhat friendlier with BJ.

After returning from Compton, Adrian is disappointed with Bella for not taking her along, which makes Bella muse-

“What was it with rich kids wanting to take a day trip to the ghetto? Compton wasn’t some tourist attraction.”

It’s called poverty porn - where rich people like to be taken around poor areas.

It was popular in Victorian times.

Lucas gets a big surprise when his relationship with Kathy finally goes Kaput and he finds out about her nefarious family connections

Oh!...And Bella finally loses her V card, and now she can’t stop thinking about sex.

One star less than the first book for this second instalment.

Only because it started to become a bit melodramatic, and falling into some very obvious writing cliques.

Especially around Bella and Wes’s first time together.
The writing, even some of the explanatory descriptions, I have read before in similar books. And it seems a little lazy.

The cartel plot seems to be progressing nicely though.

This book was a quick read… and thank goodness for that because I thought it was so boring. Unfortunately I can’t just leave a series I finished so I’ll read the last one. The amount of times the girl mentions (in her head) how she is a v* and therefore can’t “lose it in the bathroom/school/car”, etc is just over the top. I feel like there isn’t any connection between her and Wes. They went from ignoring each other to “I love you” in like a day. She’s just too naive and annoying for me. Anytime Wes does something she doesn’t like she says she just wants to slap him. Unwarranted. I think at one point he teasingly tells her he wants to shower together and she calls him a perv (as always) and then (through internal dialogue) says she is just so mad and wants to smack him. I don’t think this girl has any redeeming qualities. And the way she screams at the end and the cries because of the note? I thought it was someone major. What a joke and not a great cliffhanger lol.

Also it realllly bothers me that on the cover it says Forrest Grove… with 2 letter r’s but throughout the books it is always spelled with 1 letter r.

Spoilers

This book fell flat for me and I'm really disappointed since I liked the first book. The first thing that threw me was Wes saying he loved her when they had only kissed twice and barely interacted. It went down hill from there. They just seemed really juvenile and they made Bella out to be this bad chick when she really wasnt she had one insult for the plastic and she's riding that till the wheels fall off. She slaps Wes in the face in a complete over reaction move and he doesnt even say or do anything. I like my men a little more dominant than him he was really boring and so was their relationship they didnt even get it on till 80% into the book. Unfortunately I don't think I'll read the third book im just not interested anymore. Definitely not a bully Romance

The storyline has potential even though the first story had huge parallels to the Royals series and this sequel has the whole Compton angle that parallels to the Rejects Paradise series.

I had to give this sequel a 2 star because the romance takes a complete detour from perfect ride that was set up from book 1. I was really enjoying the alphahole, bullying and sparks between the MCs. Unfortunately the sequel falls off the rails. It's poorly written - for much of this story, we're told instead of shown. The plot becomes lackluster and anticlimactic. First of all, the crazy I love you's from practically out of no where?! I really hate it when a beloved alphahole drastically changes personality, especially out of nowhere. Then we're supposed to believe that the sexy, cocky alpha Wes meekly and willingly went from orgies to being satisfied with PG13 over the clothing action?

I had a hard time getting into this one. Several editing issues contributed to this. The main character development was also a lot different than the first book. She was a lot less likeable in this one. I found myself forcing myself to finish the story, because plot-wise I really did want to see where she went with this. Unfortunately, that didn't really develop either.

Under One Roof

You would think that Bella and Wes living under one roof would make their life easier. It doesn't. Wile their love for one another is growing, outside forces are pushing the walls in on them. Are her father's enemies coming after her to make him suffer? Who knows where Bella and Wes will land, but I'm eager to find out!

Not going to finish this trilogy

I read this book trying to give things another chance after being underwhelmed by the first one. The characters were all over the place, the plot was weak, and why do they live in such an impressive mansion but share a bathroom. The bathroom thing actually bothered me a lot more than it probably should have.

Compton Kings...

This book definitely has a cliffhanger ending. Bella finally finds the secret everyone was hiding about her dad. Lucas is made aware of Kathy's infidelity. Sebastian's secret is exposed. Wes and Bella's relationship expands. What is in store next?

Quick compelling read.

This is a great read however, there are many grammatical mistakes and spelling mistakes that should have been caught right away. That is why it got a 4 star instead of a five star.

To be honest at this point I read the this series just because of Bella, Wes, Sebastian, Chuck, Todd, Jaxson, Adrian and Hunter. Their little group is so funny, and relaxing to read about. It show true friendship/family to the end
