Absolutely there will be spoilers.

For one, I figured Kate and Noah would get together because that's typically how ROMANCE books work. But not this one. No, no. This one has the friendship/cousins of Charlie and Noah adding in Charlie's friend, Kate. Kate and Noah get along great and really have feelings for each other. But they don't act on them, because that just was an ultimate fail when they tried. And in the long run, they stop being friends in this book because of Morgan. She's not comfortable with their friendship. Yet when Noah wasn't comfortable with Morgan and Wyatt's friendship, He ultimately accepted Wyatt as being a part of Morgan's life as they are "best friends" who also happen to have an autistic child between them (Wyatt's child, Morgan's stepson but she's been mom since he was a baby). Either way, Morgan had so many secrets The entire time and Noah is just a man whore. Yet Kate was really falling for him even after being broken by Dominic. And the things that Dominic wanted her to do, wtf? Why was she so hung up on him? Dominic was awful. Forget him. That whole thing didn't even make sense. And then she sees him at a party and suddenly he's getting married to some other chick so she's crushed again because he always told her he doesn't do relationships or sex! What the hell? He'd be easy to forget. Kate seems to go for one extreme where the other. Either no sex (Dominic) or a man whore (Noah) who only wants sex. And then at the end of the book, Noah reveals that he and Morgan are having a baby. But Kate is still hung up on him and just finally realized that any hope she had of them getting together was impossible. Are you kidding me?

And are we just going to ignore the fact that Noah raped Morgan? She told him to go and get out of her place. And she told him to stop. And he continued, which is rape. That's not okay! That whole section was not okay. So no, I couldn't get behind any of these characters from the beginning and then when he raped her and it was like no big deal in the book, which, it is a big deal, I just lost all respect for all of them. Why the fuck would Morgan want to get together with him after he has absolutely zero respect for her and treats her like a possession?

I said it in the first four books and I will say it again, if I did not already download the full set, I would have not made it past the first book. But because I do not DNF a book, I continue reading it and it just pisses me off even more every time I read the next book. So God only knows what will happen as I read the next book in this series.

I do not recommend them at all as I have said on the first four reviews. This one has been the worst.

Probably the best book in the series so far. Noah and Kate have good chemistry, but for almost the entire book Noah was preoccupied with another woman.

Ok so I’m actually reading the whole book set but this one I had to break away and write a review because I am so torn with this one. I liked Charlie’s story although definitely drawn out a little far and I loved Julian and Adriannas story but this one I’m not happy with. I mean Noah and Kate obviously have a bond and should be together. I get it, Morgan attracted him sure but he has to sacrifice in order to have her including seeing her ex husband but Morgan makes him cut ties with Kate??? Yes Kate and Noah have chemistry for sure but if Morgan was truly the only one Noah wanted he should have fought harder to keep his friend. I think that Morgan is wrong for him and he should have chased Kate. I’m now into the next book so hoping maybe the ending I’m hoping for ends up happening because Dominic is terrible and Kate does not need that in her life. I mean needing to drop everything and fly to NY to be with Kate when she was so upset should have clued Noah in that she needs him and he needs her. Ugh

This book is so full of unappealing characters that in spite of the good writing I can only give it one star. A male MC (he loves nailing women who are on rebounds) who only thinks with his dick and I do mean literally, two catty sisters, and I haven't even mentioned the others including a pair of cheaters. The only person I liked was Kate and she has her own issues with how she thinks and acts. The immaturity of all of these so-called professionals was quite frankly eye-rolling.

I just can't with this dick. I can't believe this self-pitying, selfish asshole, who always blames someone else for his fuck ups, gets his own book. And is supposedly the hero of the story, when half the novel all he is thinking about is fucking someone - literally. I can handle a douche who knows he is a douche (cough Slade in Cherry Popper - a truly hard to like male lead). But Noah lacks so much self-awareness and is so self-involved the thought would never even cross his mind he's a pig, especially since the other idiots seem to think its charming or funny or some shit. Though considering how the rest of the characters act that is no surprise.

This isn't dark, twisted, obsessive love - all these books are more like think with my genitals love.

Hmmm. Seems the author decides to change the heroine to amp up the "angst factor".

Okkkkkay sooo this book kind of hurt me a little.. explained ⬇️

I ALMOST DNF this book with not even 50 min left in the book BUT I didn’t & I’m glad I didn’t‼️ my youngest baby has high functioning autism so to I GET IT! Change is very very hard for (a child with special needs) including my son. So when Noah didn’t understand & gave her an ultimatum either them 2 or him… my heart broke into a million pieces bc as they were trying to make this leave easier & more comfortable on their son…. I’m glad I stuck it out 🤍🥹

SPOILERS:

This is the fifth book in the 'Dark Love' Series, I wanted to love it but it definitely is my least favorite book in the series. I read books 1-4 in less than a week, I couldn't put this series down until I got to this series. I haven't enjoyed this book much, I should say I am about 70% done with the novel on Kindle Unlimited. I do plan on finishing the book because I want to read book 6 in this series and the following 'Forbidden Love' series by this author.

I had to give this book 2/5 stars in comparison to the 4-5/5 stars I have rated the previous 4 books. The book introduces a whole new character Noah Mason, who we only ever read about in one fleeting paragraph in the first book, he is Charlie's cousin who was never named in 'Chasing Love'. Suddenly he has his own book when we know nothing about him.

Unlike the previous 4 books, Charlie & Lex's story was followed up by Adriana (Lex's Sister & Charlie's childhood best friend) & Julian's (Charlie's ex-fiance & Lex's nemesis) love story. Noah comes out of the left field, we don't know him at all plus Adriana or Julian are barely present, Nikki and Rocky are maybe mentioned once and Charlie and Lex are barely in the book, maybe 10% of the novel besides the fact Noah is staying in his cousin's house.

Kate, Charlie's friend, and Lex's ex-assistant is set up to be Noah's best friend/possible love interest but that is cut short. In reality, the only reason I decided to try and finish this book is that Kate and Noah's love story is in book 6, not this one and I really enjoy Kate as a character. Her POV chapters get me to keep reading.

I had to pause at 58% completed with this book, take a break, and read all 3 'Sleet Series' novels by S.J. Tilly which I finished in 5 days. If that doesn't tell you how much I did not enjoy this book, I don't know what will.

Noah, a man whore, and Morgan, the assistant/manager, and sister to Noah's celebrity crush are the main two characters but it is obvious they don't belong together. They are toxic, they only are together because they enjoy sleeping together, nothing more, they are not 'in love' they're infatuated with how good the sex is. Morgan is unlikable as a character plus she's hiding a child from Noah and an ex-husband. Noah is pretty insufferable;e most of the book unless he's around Kate, he is kind of using Lex's connections to get what he wants, including a high paying job and hotel rooms to screw Morgan in.

All in all, I get why the author chose to go this route because all her books in this series are duets so each couple has two books but overall, I don't think this is the best writing choice. Hell, Kate's heartbreak 'ex' has been introduced and talked about in previous books, Domonic, Eric's older aloof brother.

Overall, I look forward to book six to see Kate's happily ever after.

These keep getting sadder

This is book five and focused on Noah, the cousin of Charlotte. Noah is an attractive playboy type guy who needs a change of scenery from Boston. He moves in with Charlotte and Lex. Noah connects with Kate and it’s beautiful for like a minute before a challenge is put before Noah pushing him onto a famous actress. I am confused at this point because why would Kate push Noah to another woman. The main characters Kate, Morgan, and Noah were too far-fetched in their actions and behavior, which made this book not as relatable, enjoyable, or entertaining. It felt like let’s see how many obstacles can be put in the way to keep Kate and Noah from being together. Disappointed!

Noah Mason is Charlie’s cousin, they have a great relationship. When he needed a new life change due to an indiscretion he heads to Charlie’s place. He’s a manwhore/playboy whatever word you like to choose. He’s not a bad guy but it does go through a lot of women. I liked that we are kept guessing who his ladies going to be. He seems to have chemistry with them all. The next story is Chasing heartbreak. Omg the blurb.

shitty book, spoiler alert

So yeah, at first, I thought Kate and Noah would end up together because that's just the way romance books usually go. But nope, not here. This one throws a curveball with Noah being friends with his cousin Charlie and Charlie's friend Kate. Kate and Noah hit it off and clearly have feelings for each other, but nothing comes of it. They actually try, but it's a disaster, and eventually, they stop being friends, mainly because of Morgan. She's not okay with their friendship. Yet, when Noah wasn't comfortable with Morgan being close to Wyatt, he ended up accepting it since Wyatt is "just a best friend" who happens to have an autistic son that Morgan has basically raised as her own.

Then there's Morgan-she's got secrets all over the place-and Noah, who's basically a player. But Kate really falls for him, even though she's been burned by Dominic, who was a mess. Seriously, what was the deal with Dominic? Why was she so obsessed? He didn't make any sense. And then she sees him at a party, and boom-he's suddenly engaged to someone else after saying he doesn't "do relationships or sex.” Like, what? He'd be so easy to forget. It's like Kate's either going for a guy who won't even kiss her (Dominic) or a total player (Noah), who only seems interested in her for sex. Then, at the end, Noah drops the bomb that he and Morgan are having a baby. Kate's crushed and realizes that whatever she thought might happen between them was never gonna happen. Really?

And are we seriously just glossing over the fact that Noah raped Morgan? She told him to leave, she told him to stop, and he kept going. That's rape, and it's definitely not okay. After that, I couldn't stand any of the characters. Why would Morgan even want to be with him after he treated her like that, with no respect at all? It's just so messed up.

Review of Chasing Fate by Kat T. Masen
* * * * *
Kate finally gets her romance! We are also introduced to Noah, our flirtatious playboy who is about to get a taste of his own medicine.

Kate has been unlucky in love.
She's sick of the break ups, the using, the a-holes and now, she's tossed aside by the man she has hoped will look at her the way she wants to be looked at.
She wants to be adored.
She wants to be seen.
She wants to be loved.
Now, he's tossed her aside.
Noah's a player. Living life back on the other side of the country, he and his best friends were like brothers...until Noah went for the one wrong girl that destroyed it all.
Staying with his cousin Charlie, he makes the unlikely friendship with Kate.
When his new job comes with the perks of a bombshell movie star, a little naughty idea is made. However, no one saw the curveball coming.
No one expected Morgan.
With all the insecurties, the lies, the yelling and bitter arguements, things escalate quickly to a resolution that will have these two buddies walking away from one another.

The first half of this romance had be confused. In a good way!
Like, I was expected the romance to be focused on Noah and Kate, but nope! Noah's fixation is on Morgan, the horny little sister/assistant to her starlet sister, who is holding her own major secret that hits Noah like a bus. Kate is facing Dominic - her best friend's brother, who's she's been having a somewhat secret affair with - and the reason why he broke things off with her.
Noah's and Kates friendship is cute, and their constant mistakes and bad decisious reflect off one another as to why they would actually be perfect for each other.
With the ending that came, the next book could not land in my hand fast enough!

Oh man i don’t even know how i feel after this book and yes it does end on a cliffhanger and even usually with these types of books i have to read another book in the middle and then go back but i don’t think i can with this book and how it ends.

I really wasn’t sure how this book would go but it wasn’t the way i wanted it too, i am not going to say too much because others may have wanted it to go the way it did but i just wasn’t sure hence why i am going into the next book straight away.

I loved how we got most chapters from Noah’s point of view i must admit i like the guys books in the series but i really liked how we got other characters chapters aswell always good to know what all parties are thinking.

This is an enemies to lovers but there so much more to it with a love triangle, it gave me the feelings of frustration, heartbreak and really not knowing what to feel and i love that in a book.

Again loved how we got all the characters from the other books and how close all these characters are. I know i haven’t given much away about the characters and the story but go in blind and decide for yourself i think that’s the best way to go into this book but i really loved it and this series is a must read.

This is the 5th book in the Dark Love series. It focuses on Noah Mason, Charlie Edward’s cousin, and Kate. Noah also gains a love interest the story focuses around of Morgan “Violet Winters”. I think the story fits in nicely with the series. It provides updates on previous characters I fell in love with early in the series. Strong MC, he can come off like an a*hole on many occasions. However, behind the rough persona he learns to love which can be realistic IRL. I personally love going through each book in the series diving into each character and bringing in smaller characters here and there. It does not feel like anyone is ever forgotten in existence. Great 5th book series read!

Not the best, not the worst.

One thing I want is for the book to keep my interest. I generally prefer a book I can predict however I also desire a book to keep me guessing. This book is not (in my opinion) as good as the first few in this series. It’s much slower with not some much good stuff😉 happening but goodness, it kept me thinking I knew what would happen only to be thrown for a damn loop! I feel my heart is a bit shattered. It’s not what I truly wanted for two of the characters and I'm left feeling sad and a little let down. I am going to finish the series and am hoping that they don't continue to fall short of the first couple of books.

I am a Noah and Kate stannnnn!!!!
I am forever pulling for them. I can’t believe the book took the turn it did. I was so irrationally upset hahaha.

Noah the womanizer says he will “never” settle down. Until the day he meets Kate. These two have such an unspoken bond and chemistry that it’s obvious to their close friends that they are perfect. Until Noah starts chasing the WRONG GIRL!

I was not even remotely attached to Morgan at all. No offense to her character but I couldn’t help for Noah and Kate interactions. Haha. Reading the blurb for the last book, I cannot wait to see how this plays out!!

I think these two are going to be my fav couple.

Dark Love Series 1-6 All in AUDIO
I found books 1-2 in Libby and 3-6 in the Hoopla app. Books i-2 had too much present to past hopping, including the same info from both points of view. This made 1-2 seem too long to me, though I had no thoughts of quitting. I just increased the speed sometimes.

The series got better as it progressed. The same characters continued actively throughout the series, though each primary couple got their books.

A very interconnected group of in-laws, close friends, and co-workers made for a long but enjoyable series. There was a lot of emotional growth in almost all characters.

This is book 5 in the Dark Love Series. Noah is Charlie’s cousin and Kate is her BFF. Noah moved to LA because of his manwhore ways and after being dared by Kate and Charlie to date a famous Hollywood actress he has to interview for his work, he tries to get through to her through her PA which proves hard but will he do it? This one definitely had the angst, love, romance, secrets and misunderstandings. This one does end on a cliffhanger but when you read the blurb for the next book in the series, you will know that their journey is far from over.

Part 1 of 2 story for Noel, Kate, Dominic and Morgan.
As I started to finish this one I hated the ending but soon realized again with this series from Kat Masen its a Part 1 of 2 story and that I would have to read part 2 to really get where it was going. Dont give up on the love story you really want in this one it appears it will happen on part 2. Again Kat hits the books with real life experience and actually gets you into your emotions. I am going to read part to and cross my fingers this ends the right way just like she has done in the past.

OMG!!!by book 5 ,and it throws everything you thought would happen, does a 360° !!

This is now book 5 for me in approx 7 days/nights. Insomnia and several health problems, mean that I am either in hospital for intensive treatment or at home on extended bed rest, has me binging on the books of the author above.
A few new people appear and early into this one and you think you know how things are going to end. Other new characters appear and a new game is in play.
Enjoy the ride, no spoilers, sorry.
Enjoying the storylines.

WHYYYY?!!!😭😭😭 I just could not for the life of me be happy for Noah & Morgan! I just couldn’t! I really thought it would have been him & Kate & tbh I am peeeeed off! Then that news at the end, really killed my dreams of them😭😭😭😭
Ugggghhhh! I genuinely have never felt like this about characters falling in love, I am always happy for a HEA but man my heart was sad.
Besides that, it was a great book, I loved it but I hated it😭
Looking forward to our girl finding someone who loves her soo much. God I’m soo damn sad!

40% of the book was reminding us all of how much of a player Noah is & how much p**** he gets. I’m pretty sure I read 15 p***** in one chapter. Anyways, Noah is immature, doesn’t do relationships & then bam! Morgan comes along & he becomes this possessive MMC.

Storyline was fine. Morgan is annoying but I do applaud her for being there for her stepson.

As much as these books done impress, the storyline truly has me hooked & I definitely feel the need to read the other books by this author. Why? Probably cause I’m just as toxic as these FMC & I can relate to some of the heartache.

This is another great book in the dark love series.
I had previously read this book under the Mister Rebound title... but I must say Kat has done wonders with the rewrite.
One of the things I love about this book is I was never sure who Noah was actually falling for.
This story is fast paced, a guaranteed page turner.
Just beware the cliffhanger at the end... so need the next book
I was given an ARC but voluntarily chose to review

HAHAHAHA when the girls are waiting for Noah to get out bed and Ava goes “I’m watching cock!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 her sister Amelia says “clock Ava… Cock is a rooster. Daddy says to Mommy that she likes big roosters, remember?” HAHAH IT LITERALLY TOOK ME A FEW MINS TO RECOVER FROM LAUGHTER.
Honestly I lost interest in the series after Adrianna's story, I just read this book because of the cheekiness that Amelia and Ava get up to!

I had a love hate relationship with this book. I think the first few chapters had me thinking his love interest would be one woman, but then it ended up being a different one. I guess I was just hopeful that it would be who I wanted it to be lol. Still a great story though. Slow burn for sure, and not a huge 3rd act break up, like there have been. It mainly focused on Noahs POV, but we did have 2 other POVs, which I like. I'm excited to read the next one. I think I will like the next one more, just how the last chapter in this one finished.

I loved Kate since book 1 and this book made me cry. This was all about Noah and I can’t believe they did Kate dirty. I enjoyed the relationship Noah and Kate had. I love that they could be themselves with each other. I didn’t care for Morgan at all. Even after learning her circumstances, why was she such a witch and a jealous one at that? Chasing Heartbreak better give Kate a HEA.
