USA Today Bestselling Author, Stephanie Kay has always loved a good romance, and she got hooked on the dirty ones at the tender age of 14, when she told her mother that if the cover wasn’t a bodice ripper, then there was no sex in the book. As an avid mystery reader, her mother never checked to see if Stephanie was lying. Twenty plus years later, Stephanie’s most prized possession is her Kindle, and she may have a Hallmark movie obsession.
She has called California, Maryland, and Rhode Island her home, but now lives in New Hampshire with her husband where she asks him incessant questions until he escapes to go hiking in the mountains. That’s the only time she can get him out of the house so she can get her writing in. Married couples shouldn’t both work from home!
Sports were never her thing, but after beta reading for another hockey author and buying NHL Game Center within one month of watching her first hockey game a few years ago, she dove into learning everything she could about the sport and the hot men that play it. Now she spends her spare time visiting hockey arenas in the name of research and loving every second of it.
3 ⭐⭐⭐ - OK decent reads ====================== Nothing happened to the person who leaked the information or to the ex-husband who invented a lot of lies to the press. There were loose ends and unresolved things. Aff!
Warning: make sure you have 5ish consecutive hours to sit down and read this book because you won’t be able to put it down!!! Tristan and Evie’s characters are so relatable, and I’m a sucker for deep plots with angst and real emotions. As a parent, I was very much on Evie’s side regarding her secret, and the twists brought out all the emotions. I love these two characters so much, and I loved the character development of them as individuals, as a couple, and especially as a band family. Can’t wait for the next Steelwolfe book!!
Not advised to start this book in the evening, I had to finally put it down at 4:10am only to pick back up 4 hrs later. Love the characters of this series and was surprised at the storyline and how refreshing it was. Not to mention how Tristan and Evie fought against the normal HEA endings and brought a newness to their story and solution. 5 Stars are not enough!
Holy man bun Batman! What’s hotter than a bassist with a man bun? A bassist with a man bun, playing with a little kid, obviously! One thing I love about Stephanie Kay’s books is that she writes amazing heroines. Evie is a kick ass single mom with an amazing need-no-man outlook. Evie loves her son, and just wants to protect him from as much as she can. Meeting Tristan and falling in love is so not what she ever expected, but that’s life right? Telling him her secret was not easy, but secrets have a way of coming out regardless of how much we try to keep them. Tristian is such an amazing guy. He is added to my list of book boyfriends. He is supportive and caring. And dear lord, seeing (reading about) a man loving on a child that isn’t his, but loving him and treating him like he was. It just hits me in the feels every time. Jax of course provided comic relief once again. I can’t wait for him to fall. Lord is it going to be epic. Epicer than bash and Tristan’s combined. Maybe. Who is the lucky women that will take on all of that? Can’t wait!
What an awesome book...once I started, I couldn't put it down. This is such a down to earth story even though we are talking about rocks stars and a huge rock band! Evie has a huge secret that she feels guilty about keeping but when you have a one night stand with the drummer of a rock band and end up pregnant...you don't know how to get in touch with him and even if he will believe it...then he dies from an overdose. What do you do then? You keep it to yourself because you don't know what else to do!
The band moved to NY and now Tristan and Evie keep running into each other...Tristan is the bass player for the band that Evie had an one night stand with the drummer. Evie and Tristan grow closer, there are bumps in the road but eventually they have their HEA.
This is such and awesome read!!!! I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I was disappointed in the way this book ends. We know Tristan and Evie are in love so that is not an issue, but dealing with the big secret wasn't resolved at all. Why lament over and over if nothing is going to be done about it.
Tristen's story... How do I love Tristen's story, let me count the ways.
Tristan is an awesome support to Evie. He knows exactly how she needs to be supported, then calling her on her reasons and excuses. Plus he's delicious and sweet.
Evie kicks ass in the woman department. She has a supportive mom and rocking jugging a career and parenthood. Evie doesn't need financial or emotional help but wants Tristan and band family in her life. She's worried about how her life effects them.
This second book in the Steelwolf series was difficult for me to rate and review. Part of me loved this story and wanted to give 5 stars. Another part of me got totally disgusted with Tristan and Cassie and how they handled a situation and wanted to give the book 3 stars. I ended up compromising in the middle with 4 stars but I was hesitant. A big situation in this book is kind of left hanging so I am assuming they will follow up in book three. I liked our heroine and felt she should have been treated better by Tristan, the band and Cassie but...she wasn’t. I wanted her to toughen up and tell these people where to get off. Also Jax is starting to get on my nerves. Anyway, four hesitant stars and I hope book three improves.
This one is even better than the first book in the series. Evie winds up pregnant after a one night stand with the late drummer of Steelwolf and has never wanted anything from the band. She runs into Tristan the Bass player in her office building. She knows her life will never be the same once she tells them about her son.
Enjoyed the character development and the banter with the band makes me laugh every time. You can’t help but fall in love with each one. Looking forward to more books in this series. Charlie and Jaxson’s stories should be epic.
I confess that I am not a big fan of romance novels. But i legit could not put this down! It was so good! Well written, captivating, i love the characters, and it’s clear that Stephanie K has done her research on bands, media, etc. This isn’t just a romance novel, but a great love story and you do keep wondering how it’s going to end. I love that each book in the series focuses on a different band member and they’re connected but you can read them separately. I’m excited for book 3!
If you like a book that has a slow intense burn, you'll love this one. Evie meets Tristan again. The chemistry is off the charts and the intensity is there. These two have a secret that needs to be revealed and also to get over. Can Tristan and Evie have a forever? Read now and find out!
This one is a solid 4.0. I liked it a lot more than #1 in the series. It had way more emotional gravitas, maybe because there was a kid involved, or maybe because I just really liked the lead characters a lot. I found Evie particularly lovable. Everything about her made sense to me…maybe because I’m a mom(?)…IDK.
This story was exciting, entertaining, moving and just plain Fantastic!!!! Stephanie is an Amazing storyteller and PHENOMENAL writer!!. Her stories hooks you from the beginning to the end.
Now I get how others said in their reviews about a clipped ending! It just fell & didn’t have any future wrap up. The story was ok. Kinda slow & the female character was so boring & whining lots.
I truly loved Tristan and EV’s story. I love the way Tristan excepted her and James with his whole heart. I love the way Cassie and the rest of the band stood by them. I can’t wait for more from this series. Would love to hear Jaxs’ story.
I love every page on this book, except for the fact that you don’t feel that it has an ending, too many things unsolved…. I would like to ask the author, are there more books coming? I still gave it a 5 stars.
Story with twists and passion. Nice flow and a kid that sound like a kid...
Like another reviewer said nothing happened to the tabloids or the POS ex. I need closure in my books. Usually there is no justice in real life and I need this on my reading experience.
Loved it. Having a child from a one night stand. Finding love with his bandmate. Telling the truth and dealing with everything. Great book. Hope there is more of them.
Tristan wasn't expecting Evie, and Evie has a secret that will definitely rock Steelwolf's world! I love the way Stephanie Kay develops her characters, and with dealing with their pasts, wanting to live in the present, and treading carefully for their futures creates a sweet slow-burn romance that not only develops Evie and Tristan while telling his story, but shows Tristan's heart of gold behind that broody bassist facade. Keeping Time also continues developing the Steelwolf family!
This can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommed reading Fractured Rhythm first!
This is definitely a book you start and can't put down. Loved the band mates banter and the family feel of their relationship. Also enjoyed having the main characters from the first book lives continue.
I’m a biiiig fan of broody guitarists and lead singers, but Tristan eclipses them all as my newest book boyfriend. This book has just the right amount of tension and romance combined with a HOT bass player and adorable kid. You will laugh, cry, laugh some more, swoon a bit, and get lost in the story. This one is by far, my favourite rock star romance!
