Rate this book
What is the Price to Become a Myth? The first book in the dramatic Sitch series, Ghost In The Shadow introduces us to a world at war and the fractured people fighting for the only cause that matters - freedom.

The United States is crippled by conflict, occupied in part by the ruthless Islamic State of America (ISA). The rebel Freedom States have held them at bay through long years of bitter fighting, but greater dangers lurk below the surface. The Shadows, a special organization run by a leader known only as ‘Sitch’ is the next target of the ISA, who have deployed a troop to find and destroy them.

Mitch is born an ordinary boy, with an extraordinary lineage. His father, James, was a respected soldier in the war that has long raged between the United States of America and Russia...until he was shot and captured in an ambush, and rumored to have died in prison.

At 14 years old, Mitch is old enough to be enlisted to battle, but before he can be recruited, his home and family are attacked. Deployed to a cruel bootcamp for new soldiers and forced to carry out suicide missions and decoys, Mitch grows into a battle-hardened warrior with a fearsome reputation. But his father’s legacy is always by his side, and he is restless and troubled - no victory is ever enough.

Then Mitch meets Eli, the founder of The Shadows, and everything changes.

But will Mitch triumph for the greater good of his country, or just descend to new levels of cruelty in this cutthroat wasteland of a world?

The Islamic State of America (ISA) has sent troops to a Freedom state, to hunt down Sitch, who is a mythical character, a ghost in the shadow, no one knows anything about his whereabouts except one man - Taavet the wise.

Taavet begins telling Sitch's story to the Commander but on his own terms, he is not a hostage rather it feels just the opposite sometimes.

The narration oscillates to and fro between the present day where Taavet is telling the story to the story of Mitch (aka Sitch), son of James and Sarah Walker. A fourteen year old Mitch gets drafted for the ongoing war between USA and Russia after losing his mother. Mitch is not a ordinary man, he can talk with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, he has a guardian Angel, Monica and Angels help him along the way. The story keeps getting interesting as the character of Mitch develops and new characters get introduced into the book (Demi, Eli etc.)

Eventually, Mitch joins Shadows, who help those in need, fighting war from any side that is fair. What is the myth of Sitch? Will ISA succeed in hunting him down?

The book is interesting, full of thrill and adventure. It also has elements of fantasy and spirituality. The style of narration has definitely made the book engaging. It is a different read with a nice plot and unique characters. Mitch's character has clearly identifiable personality traits, moreover, he is a likeable protagonist. The writing style has managed to keep the mystery until the very end. The book is fast paced and is a good read.

A story about a mythical figure, Sitch, the Son of Sarah and James walker. He is a Ghost in the shadow, except Taavet, no one knows about Sitch.
.
At a tender age of fourteen, after losing his mother, Sitch joins the war between USA and Russia. The book has a lot of interesting characters, like Demi, Monica and many more. There is a lot of dicussion about ISA.
.
The book is a great thriller. I found this fantasy novel engaging qnd interesting. The plot is one of a kind. It dances between the present day and When Taavet tells the story to Sitch. Not a dull moment to be found, all characters are well woven and scripted.
.
One of the good characters of the book is that it is fast paced with a good writing style. The mystery was intact till the end.
.
Overall, an engaging book recommended to all kinds of readers.

While I don't enjoy reading adventure fiction much, this title intrigued me a lot, and well I was not disappointed when I read this one.

The book introduces us to a world at war and the fractured people fighting for the only cause that matters – freedom.

The United States is crippled by conflict, occupied in part by the ruthless Islamic State of America (ISA). The rebel Freedom States have held them at bay through long years of bitter fighting, but greater dangers lurk below the surface. The Shadows, a special organisation run by a leader known only as ‘Sitch’ is the next target of the ISA, who have deployed a troop to find and destroy them.

The story is about a young boy Mitch, a kid of James and Sarah. His father, James, was a respected soldier in the war. At 14 years old, Mitch is old enough to be enlisted to battle, but before he can be recruited, his home and family are attacked. Deployed to a cruel boot camp for new soldiers and forced to carry out suicide missions and decoys, Mitch grows into a battle-hardened warrior with a fearsome reputation. 👉The book is intriguing and thrilling to read. It has so many lessons imbibed in the story.
👉There are many poems and letters and twists and turns that keep the reader hooked throughout.
👉 The story ends up in an interesting cliffhanger and I can't wait to read the next in the series.

Undoubtedly one the best book in adventure fiction according to me. The title of the book does justice to the storyline and the cover is pretty nice as well and the whole storyline is very intriguing for readers.

Sitch: Ghost In The Shadow by I.R Vasquez is by far so much wonderful for readers who want to read more of adventure fiction and the story has so much to offer.

The main story revolves around Mitch, son of soldier James Walker and Sarah Walker, James was a soldier for US army during the war era between Russia and US , he was retired from his duties for a while now and meanwhile this time the birth of his son was also there and after sometime he was called back to his duty due government order regarding war and he had to leave everything behind and go away but after a while when Mitch was growing up then one day dreadful news came to Sarah that James had gone missing and there were no sign of him.

In this misery also Sarah had his son Mitch and then she had adopted Mitch's friend David who had abusive grandfather and they were happy together until one day when Sarah was killed by some people and Mitch was forcefully taken to army for suicide missions and other army related work.

The entire story is about how the journey of Mitch from going to army and then his journey ahead with his master and learning new skills and then challenging the leaders of ISA. There is much more to the story about what had happened to David after Sarah's death, was James alive or not and many more secrets along with the mystery of Sitch who is the main character of our story and his link to Mitch and many more things and to know all that you'll should read this book.

Islamic State of America (ISA) have succeeded in infiltrating the United States taking control of some parts. The President of the ISA has declared a nationwide manhunt for "Sitch", a mythical individual which the ISA troops don’t even believe exist.

Mitch, son of the legendary James Walker & Sarah Walker & the elder brother of their adopted son David is forced to join the Army at the age of 14.

James Walker his father, a respected soldier in the Army is assumed dead.

Mitch who later known as Sitch, has a legacy of a leader and is trained to be a fearsome tactical warrior. Things change for him when he meets Eli, the founder of the Shadows who teaches him techniques which seem beyond the human ability. The spiritual guidance and his teacher Eli help him in missions and give him a different perspective towards war.

But will he be able to live upto his father's legacy? Will he be able to apply the training which shows mercy than killing after losing more than his family in the war? Will the ISA be able to find Sitch who has created a havoc in the enemy occupied states?

"Ghost in the Shadows" is the first book in the Sitch saga series. This book is the background of Sitch and his journey and ends up in an interesting cliffhanger. The story is fast paced and narration is easy to picturise. The series seems promising and the plot is intriguing. I am looking forward to the sequel of this highly recommended adventure series.

Ghost in the shadow is the first book in the Sitch series, where we're introduced to the new world, separated and tormented, fighting for freedom.

The ISA, an organisation have taken over parts of the United States leading to tge emergence of rebel states, fighting for freedom for years and dodging dangers. An Organisation known as The Shadows is at work to solve the conflicts, but their leader Sitch is soon targeted by the ISA.

This book was an amazing read, with needless to say an amazing trope which really intrigued me. We meet the character Mitch who at 14 is a sweet boy, and as he grows up into a warrior, he grows to be brave and strong. It's remarkable how he tries to keep up with his father's legacy.

The books is extremely adventurous to say the least, with some interesting factors added in like fantasy and hints of legends. The war is enticing and keeps you hooked to know what the outcome will be. The narration is done brilliantly, giving the story an almost mystical touch, leaving the readers in a daze. I'm left wanting to read more of the saga and hope I get to read the sequel soon! If you are into wars and rebellions and love those tropes, you should definitely check this book out!

"How far will the mighty fall?"
A book by I.R. Vasquez, Sitch: Ghost in the Shadow, happens to be one of the most anticipated books I read in 2021. The book is about a boy, Mitch, son of James and Sarah, who is guided by Eli, his guide to face a mission, a war. Then there is Sitch, the mythical individual, who is being searched by ISA throughout the world. Other mythical figures, like Lucifer, also play a role in the book. I will not plunge deep into the story, because it's better to leave it as suspense, who will win the war, who will die, and much more.

I liked the plot because it leads us to and fro, gives specific details about the locations, which makes it quite interesting and realistic. The narration is mind-blowing with a lot of dialogues, poems, letters and thought process to make it more relatable and engaging. The touch of spirituality, blended with adventure, war, power and peace make it fabulous for me to submerge in the writing.
I recommend this book if you like adventure, war fiction as a genre with a different mix of mysticism.

A unique storyline mentioned in the book description forced me to get my hands on this book. It's really difficult to describe in words, how much I enjoyed this novel and how much I liked the plot. The blurb was exciting and that made me read the whole book in one sitting. The story is unique, full of unexpected events and suspense that kept me interested till the end.

Such an amazing book. The characters, the story, the setting, the plot, everything is so perfect and is according to my reading taste. I was totally absorbed in it and couldn't put it down.
I won't say much about the plot, except to say there's something so interesting to read for everyone. I loved the whole atmosphere surrounding the book, and all the little details the author provided. I am really impressed how the author has maintained the excitement in this book. The characters are well described and well developed. I look forward to reading more books by this author.
