Unseen MC #1

Angel Unseen

Tomi

Lovestruck or c*ntstruck?
Neither, I’m never letting a woman that close to me. I’ve seen what the Callaghan Curse has done to my uncles and I know for sure that my mom was one in a million. I’ll stick to going on runs and fucking biker bitches. Now there’s rats in my club and a web of lies being woven around me, I can’t afford to lose my head over a piece of ass.
There’s no way I’m being ‘struck.
No way I’m losing everything to a stripper.

Angel

With a fake ID in one hand and the keys to my dead daddy’s Chevy in the other, I roll up into Coldstone with a plan. Get a job, finish college, and never rely on anyone for anything.
Problem is the only thing I can sell is my body.
The stage of the strip club becomes a safe haven. No one can touch me there and the MC is brutal in how they protect their girls.
I was never expecting to find a biker of my own, especially one who’s made a name for himself amongst the other strippers by fucking them all.
Well, seems like he’s shit out of luck.
He can’t have me.

Girl I-
Was I reading the same book as everyone else?

The writing was horrible. Almost every sentence had a thousand different curse words & all their variations. Never thought I'd be the one to complain about the overuse of profanities in writing (clearly) but there are limits to everything. I started skimming on the SECOND chapter, that's how bad it was.

Update

I skim-read it until the end and I confirm everything I said before:

⚡️meh romance
⚡️ridiculous plot
⚡️poor word building
⚡️extremely childish characters
⚡️100% NOT a Standalone!!!

I honestly don’t recommend this book unless you like YA and you’re a fan of the previous Series written by this author.

…~~~~~~~~~~…~~~~~~~~~~~~~…~~~~~~~~~~~~

DNF 40%

First of all, this book can’t be read as a Standalone.
Sadly the author doesn't do a good job in giving us background knowledge and history about the MC and all the main and secondary characters.
I went into this without having read the Hannaford Prep or The butcher of the bay, since it showed as a standalone. A warning in the blurb or an author note would have been appreciated especially because one of the Series I should read to fully understand this book is a RH..definitely not everyone cup of tea.

Speaking of the book I can’t understand the outrageous high avg rating..

⚡️ Poor world building (MC/brotherhood)
⚡️ slut shaming in EVERY. SINGLE. PAGE.
⚡️ Awful “Hero”: for 60% of this book he treats heroine like garbage and calls her names like wh*re, slut and prostitute. He also treat her like a prostitute, offering her money for sex
⚡️ helpless heroine with zero backbone and a martyr complex.
I don’t hate her, just feel sorry. She's a victim of domestic violence and she definitely needed a different hero.
⚡️Zero relationship development:
They don’t meet until 13%
Hero treats her like garbage until 65% but she gets 💦 because he's hot
Last 30% out of the blue they are madly in love and a serious couple
⚡️ cringy sex scene
⚡️OTT plot
⚡️childish characters

Plus I wasn’t a fan of the writing style.

Not my cup of tea.
I still rate this one star because I hate slut shaming and the non-transparency of the Standalone nature of the book pissed me off.

Well… he was certainly an asshat 🤷🏼‍♀️

I typically avoid MC romance and rape victims… and surprisingly neither of those things bothered me in this book.

Nor did I get annoyed with our h, “Angel”. She’s sweet and clever and strong in her way. She’s had a tough life and I liked her vulnerability and determination.

No, the sh*t in this sh*t sandwich was the H. He was a real piece of work. I love a good asshat but this guy was stupid to boot. I do not like stupid heros. We don’t even meet him until 13%, and it was immediately apparent why he was kept hidden. 😒 He intentionally terrorized and degraded a girl who was OBVIOUSLY traumatized. And he continued to do it even after he got to know her better and could see her level of damage. He treats her like complete garbage. Until nearly 80% of the book. And does he grovel? Hell no. He buys her stuff and repairs her house but NEVER apologizes for his behavior. Not once. He doesn’t even think about being a little sorry. We’re supposed to believe that he’s been “struck” by instalove, but he never treats her like someone he even likes a little.

Andandand… the rotten pickle on this sh*t sandwich? Even though he runs the titty bar, and has the power to shut it down, he allows the h to continue to strip in front of hoards of horny men, including all his friends and family, for 75% of the book. He’s been “struck” since 15%, but totally cool with his woman having her tits and ass out for EVERYONE. How does this make any damn sense? He gets annoyed when the horny mob of men try to touch her, but never once does he EVER lift a finger to remove her from the situation. In fact, he takes a front row seat. Watching her shake her tits at his “brothers” makes him hard. 😑 Along with all the other creeps. Fantastic. He does a lot of snarling, and thinks a lot of jealous/possessive thoughts, but NEVER ONCE does ANYTHING about it. 🤬

And finally the relationship development just isn’t here. They’ve barely spoken to each other and out of the clear blue sky he demands she suck him off, and she just does. While he says horrible demeaning things, which could have been hot, but just fell flat… mostly because she’s OBVIOUSLY TRAUMATIZED by her past. And then she’s all, “he’s in my soul”… coolcoolcool 👌🏻 Sure thing, chica. None of the sex scenes made any sense for the state of their “relationship” at the time. The H just comes off as skeevy and the h just goes along with it, because for no reason whatsoever, she’s in LUUURVE with this joke of a man.

She should have hooked up with Speck. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Bottom line? 2.5 ⭐️s. I liked the whole damsel in distress thing, but I was unimpressed with this tone-deaf sad excuse for an alpha. The lack of any sort of relationship development or real logic really took away from what could have been a great read.

‘I can pretend I was lovestruck at the sight of her and she's mine for keeps.’

Man, I love J. Bree and her writing! Her world building just gets me every single time and I honestly could read anything she gives me. I just love her style that much, a style that just keeps on improving!

I really loved both Angel and Tomi and I loved that this book was told in dual POV so that we knew exactly how each of them were feeling at all times.
Also, any mention of my girl Lips and her guys is a win in my books! I love the background characters in this book and the interactions that interlink everybody from the Bay to those in the Unseen. Posey, Trink, Rue and Speck were just great side characters and I can’t wait to see them get even more attention as the series progresses!

I’m trying to make this a coherent review and not just me fangirling over how much I love this book and J’s writing but I am really struggling. Man, I’m in love. Simple as.

And that ending though! What a cliffhanger! Damn, I am so ready for the next book you don’t even know. But you will, once you read this. You’ll totally get what I mean.

If you haven’t read the Hannaford Prep series, or the Butcher of the Bay, then I suggest you get to reading those as although they aren’t necessary to read this book, I do feel like they would help! It just gives more background and I really like that aspect of J. Bree’s books; the fact that they all exist within the same universe and overlap.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

First of all: we need more women solo on the covers, I mean LOOK AT HER!!!

I haven't read an MC romance in around 7 years, so I wasn't expecting that much from it but boy was I wrong!
I don't know if this is the modern way that MC romances are done, but it was nothing like the ones I used to read where the women were basically objects nobody respected. Everyone was so respectful of Angel's fear of getting touched and Tomi always understood that, besides how much he loves her, she is her own person and wants to achieve her own things. There were obviously some possessive aspects, but nothing exaggerated.

The plot was AMAZING, we didn't know what Angel was running away from till the very end and the whole rat on the MC was so interesting. The fact that that plot is gonna continue in the next book in the series was such a good idea to keep me interested in the series besides the next couple.

The one bad thing I have to say about this book: the word "fucking" was used, and please hear this cause I don't know if there's a book that does this, 1100 times!!! 1100!!! I get it's MC but it was literally used every 2 words in a sentence, it got to be a bit much imo.

Besides that, please read this. I haven't seen anyone talking about it and it's honestly so so good! I NEED book two to be about Rue and Poe, I just know it's gonna get even better.

Am I reading the same book as everyone else? Maybe I'm just too much of a feminist *infinite eye roll* but the slut shaming on every. Single. Page. made me really ragey. And to the fact that our two main characters don't interact for the first 15%, and even they do, Tomi is an absolute prick every single time.

That scene where she gives him a BJ just put the final nail in the coffin for me: you liked her enough to stick your dick down her throat, but you has to call her a whore for doing so? It's 2020 -- stop with the double standards when it comes to sex! Jesus.😑

J Bree is fast becoming a new addiction for me- and Angel Unseen is my favorite book of hers to date. This has everything I want in an MC romance- violence, suspense, ample sexiness, and a lot of heart.

In this Mounts Bay spin-off set in my home state of Mississippi, we dive deep into the seedy, bloody MC world of the Unseen. Our mysterious heroine, Angel, is starting fresh in Coldstone, home of the dominating Unseen MC. She’s looking for fast cash with limited questions, and decides to use her many talents as a stripper at the MC owned club. She just wants to go unnoticed, earn money and go to college, and to find a way to live her dream- but her fresh face and captivating stage presence quickly gather much attention- both good and bad- she’s alluring, sexy, and doggedly principled in how she’ll earn, something that keeps the house packed but earns her a reputation as being cold and arrogant. No attention is quite as life changing, however, as that of the huge, tattooed biker who runs the club. Tomi is immediately ‘struck but this dark haired siren, and he’s not happy about it. Being ‘struck is a curse, and strippers always have baggage. And boy, does she ever. The desire for each other is undeniable, but Angel’s secrets and distances are a constant barrier, and Tomi isn’t quite willing to be distracted by this newcomer- a woman he can’t deny is “his” but he’s not quite ready to embrace. And that, my friends, sets up for a delightfully gritty and intense push-pull romance swirling with MC drama, secrets, a colorful menagerie of delightful secondary characters (familiar and new) and chock full of suspense.

Like most J Bree stories, this love story isn’t easy- the road to love is paved with darkness, blood, trauma, and tears- but together? Oh man, these two are explosive. Tomi is a MC hero dream- rough around the edges, dangerous, gritty, possessive and protective with a mouth of a sailor and a heart of gold underneath his edge. And this man in the bedroom? HOSE ME DOWN. But Angel is who really stole my heart. This strong, brave, wounded woman is a fighter. She’s reserved, but firm in who she is and is willing to be. This is a character who lives with integrity, quiet but resolute, broken but brave. I wanted to tear down the world for her- and I was not alone- Tomi would cut his own heart out for her.

I have continued to marvel at J Bree’s attention to detail- from character, setting place, story interconnections. Every person, every word, every detail has a purpose- and often one greater than we can yet to understand. That is because J Bree is a world builder- she’s not just giving us action or interesting characters (although we get that too). We get this entire living and breathing ecosystem that is arresting, immersive, and consuming. I can hear the thumping music in the strip club, smell the fumes from the motorcycles in the air, hear the rustle of leather cuts as these characters move around. That is how vividly J Bree creates her worlds. And even more incredible, she so seamlessly interweaves every character and every story- a complicated but clear web of interconnection and meaning. That is some outstanding story telling.

The characters are also just so fantastic, each one fully dimensional and integral. Of course, I’m desperate for Rue and Poe’s story, but I am delighted at seeing friends old and new for me to adore. J Bree gives each one care and attention, each one a purpose. J Bree doesn’t hold back- she puts them through it- but that makes us loves them and their connection so much more. This is a story about the power of the love you choose- whether its the love of your chosen brothers or your soulmate- and how that is the love that defines and inspires you. That is the love that makes you whole, no matter how dark the journey to get there.

Whether you are new to J Bree or a hard core fan, you’ll love this story. It is thrilling, heart breaking, intense, and hopeful. And the ending? The ending will make your heart completely stop. I’m not sure it will start beating again until we find out what is next for these characters. What a wild ride!

I gave up sleep, ignored my family, and stayed up all night to devour this book.

Because, HOLY SHIT.

J. Bree drew me in with her Hannaford Prep series. She tortured me and made me giggle uncontrollably (about a freaking human butcher 😳) with the Butcher of the Bay Duet. I knew this Unseen MC spinoff series was going to fucking blow me away. What I was not expecting was the tears I sobbed.

Let me explain. Angel, to me, was one of the most badass FMC I've ever read (along with Lips, Avery, & Odie). She endured so much from judgemental women, rude bikers, abuse, poverty. She was broken and damaged but she did what she did to make a life for herself. Reading about her struggles and her strength just tore me up. My heart broke for that girl but I also rejoiced at her pushing forward.

Tomi was a bit of a prick. He was mean to her because of how he felt versus how she reacted to him. He didn't pick up on the signs at first, but his alphaholeness refused to let up so he was a bit possessive and protective of her...which was hot AF. Once he figures out the truth, though, SWOON. He did bad things to bad people and his blatant devotion to Angel was exactly what she needed.

The storyline was also interesting and will continue throughout the series. Action-packed, sexy, emotional, cute moments, and WE GOT TO SEE SOME OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE. Oh, how I loved how we got reacquainted with this world! J. Bree has woven together a fucking wickedly brutal, yet addictive fictional world that is both terrifying and fantastic.

I wasn't expecting the tears, but Angel's character just cried out to me. I wasn't expecting so many emotions, but I found myself literally entranced by this entire story. I was expecting action and some fucked up situations, cuz ya know, J. Bree, and she did NOT let us down.

Dark, gritty, emotionally brilliant romance that is one of my TOP reads of 2020.

ARC provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

I loved this book. It’s deliciously angsty right off the bat, with Angel clearly running from her past and a Secret Backstory that isn’t revealed until over halfway through the book. (I kind of hate that trope. Can we please know what they’re running from right off the bat? I promise I won’t lose interest! That said, it’s a common trope found in pretty much all these types of books, so I won’t dock the novel for that).
One thing I absolutely loved about this book is the Callaghan Curse. Men in the Callaghan family tend to become lovestruck at first sight, whether they want to be in love and in a relationship or not. While Tomi realizes that Angel is the one for him after first laying eyes on her, he’s definitely not happy about it. He’s a total a** towards her, and does his best to push her away. He’s seen how being lovestruck ruined his uncles’ lives, and he definitely doesn’t want that to happen to him.
I love this twist on the love at first sight concept, and it’s executed so brilliantly. That said, wow was there a lot of swearing in this book. Like, every single sentence seemed to have an F-bomb in it--to the point where I wanted to track down the author and show her that there are other adjectives that she could be using to describe the f*ing things in the f*ing world she’s f*ing created.
Even though the swearing started to get to be a bit much, I loved the characters and the suspenseful storyline and I look forward to reading more f*ing books by this author.

Meh. Book was long and wordy. Takes forever for something to actually happen.

Heroine being a stripper basically until the end sucked too. I do prefer Hero’s who are more protective and while this Hero didn’t like her stripping he doesn’t really do anything about it.

Web-Photo-Editor There’s no way I’m being ‘struck.
No way I’m losing everything to a stripper.

'Angel Unseen' is the first book of the 'Unseen MC' , a brand new series by the best selling author J.Bree. Told in dual Perspectives , Hands down this book was one of the best MC Romances I have ever read!!

When I first read Hannaford prep , my obsession with this author grew at a dangerous speed! I was so excited to meet new characters by her , as well as the older ones. And she sure did not disappoint me! Angel unseen is so much more than a regular MC Romance. It is something you definitely do not want to miss and should one click asap! The author does not hold back , this book has dark scenes that made me shiver and the ones which made me swoon!

Angel is the new face at a bar the Unseen MC owns. She is forced to work as a stripper to meet her daily needs. The last thing she wants is to catch the eye of the huge biker with a pierced nose , the one who obviously hates her at first look. That does not stop her from secretly wanting him. But she has huge secrets. She has a very very dark past , one that might be catching up to her faster than she thinks.

Tomi is absolutely struck. There is a curse in his family, where men get struck by their soulmates and don't let them go for life. Now the only confusion is whether he is just struck on the new girl’s body or does he want her heart too? But he will be damned before he lets a girl distract him from all that he has worked from so hard. If only he could tell that to his heart and brain. No matter how far he goes from her or far he pushes her away , he always seems to end up near her.

Tomi and Angel don't have a hearts and roses story. Their story is dark and gritty but so hot in all the right places , making me enjoy every damn word of this book! This book is the perfect fix for all the MC lovers , believe me this author will have you yearning for more by the time this book is finished!

The best part I liked was that we got to see the other characters from the books too! I absolutely loved Posey and Rue. That man is so hot and his book is just going to be my most anticipated read ever! It is like I can never have enough of these characters or of the mount bay itself! A perfect combination of dark and mysterious that gave me all the feels and just took a few chapters to climb up to my top reads list.

I’ve sold my soul to a str**per. I’m not even angry about it anymore.

Well if JBree was a stri**er that quote would be more then true but I think i have just sold my soul to JBree! Sold it and she has me held ransom to whatever she writes allowing me to devour it effortlessly.

Angel Unseen is a spin of from Mounts Bay, taking us more into the Motorcycle Gangs and there inner circles and it really was a perfect MC Story, I find far to many MC books written with softness, like there almost scared to touch the rougher sides handling there words with gentleness that doesnt belong amongst the pages of those books, but JBree doesn't hold back, she really dives deep with harsh words, rough hands and characters that make your purr and growl.

We begged for more Poe and Rue and we get some in this book despite JBree being stingy I know she is just setting us up by giving us Angel and Tomi and she really does give us those characters and then leaves us craving more because I totally want books on the other characters now! Whats the Story behind the rest of the Callaghans and will we learn them.

The Devil’s name is Nate. He doesn’t look like a Nate, he looks like a fu**ing Lucifer''

As the story progresses we get to sneak more if The Devil himself and Our fave Hannaford Wolves, and that wasnt nearly enough to satisfy my need for Avery but I know she can't be far off! Jbree is a writing Queen and everything she writes comea swift as a bullet from a gun with a silencer ..... smooth, silent and deadly! Leaving you wanting more of everything she has to fire!

"I live Unseen. I'll die Unseen."

Reread Feb 2022:
5 stars. amazing. epic. love this world!!!!

_____

Wow. I knew going into this book that I was probably going to love it before I'm obsessed with anything J Bree writes and I was not wrong. This was such a dark, steamy, fun and angsty read.
I recently reread Hannaford and read BOTB so going back into this world but in a new setting was so much fun. I also really appreciated the cameo we got of Lips and her boys.

In angel unseen, we get to meet the original charter of the unseen MC. This is where we meet Tomi, the VP's son. Tomi is not interested in settling down or getting hit by the 'Callaghan Curse' that all the men in his family have experienced. All of that changes when he meets the newest stripper, Angel at the club Tomi runs. Angel is full of secrets and not interested in getting involved or making friends but she can't deny the attractive she shares with Tomi.

Angel was such an interesting character and I really loved her. Tomi and Angel were so cute and their sexual tension was fantastic. J Bree did an excellent job at introducing us to this new world within the Mounts Bay Saga. I'm really looking forward to Poe and Rue's book!!!!

Y'all. I'm shook over this book-- in the best possible way.
Tomi and Angel take you on quite the ride but I can promise you: it's absolutely worth it.

I'm big on not having spoiler-y reviews. You gotta read the book for yourself because J Bree is masterful in the art of throwing plot twists in that you'll never see coming.
And this book is full of that.
From the first chapter I knew it was going to be a story worth drowning myself in and I have to say, writing this review is hard, because I'm still not over this story. The couple.
Or the last line of this book.

I will say: Tomi was going to catch these hands in the beginning.
How he treated our leading lady at first did not sit well with me. I know he was deep in his own feelings, and men just struggle dealing with those. BUT, he realllly stepped it up once he accepted where he was and stopped fighting his fate. Like most men, he just needed time to work it all out.

Angel. Oh, Angel.
How I wish I could just wrap her up in a giant hug and tell her it's all going to be okay. She's terrified, out of her element and running from ugliness. But, she's strong, sassy and beautiful in a slightly damaged way. It doesn't become clear what the issues are until closer to the end but the way it's handled. The way Tomi steps up for her-- be still my heart.
These two are perfect for each other; and I won't hear of any disagreement.

I can't wait to see where we go next in this world that J Bree has created for us. I just know that it's going to be a wild ride and I absolutely can't wait.

J Bree has yet again raised the bar and blown me away with her creative brilliance.

Tomi and Angel's story put me on an emotional rollercoaster where one moment I was laughing like a crazy person and then a few page's later I was trying to blink the tears out of my eye's.

Tomi is one of the Callaghan family that founded the Unseen MC and is really one of the good guys. The problem is he kinda loses his head when he gets 'struck and he really deserves a knee to the balls a few times until he gets his act together.

Angel has been through hell and she is a survivor. She deals with the shitty hand that life dealt her with strength and perseverance and does what she has to, to make herself a better life.

The glimpses that we had of past characters made me so very excited and I just loved seeing them again.

This blood soaked tale of family, friendships and doing whatever is needed to save them and love so great that you lose your heart in a second even if it's not what you want had me captivated from the beginning till the end and will stay in my mind fora long time. Definitely a new favourite that I will be rereading over and over again.

I remember reading this a while back after I finished Hannaford Prep because it was supposedly connected
I thought it was ok back then
Then I read the first 2 books of Broken Bonds (DNFed the rest)

And a couple of days ago, this popped on my Kindle fyp with a different cover. Thinking it's a new MC book by J Bree, I reread

And I came to shocking realization

This author has a Pedophilia Kinck
Because why is almost evey Female character in her book underage and pursued by older (sometimes ancient) guys?????

Also, her females are know-it all geniuses who know how to fight and shoot guns but very VERYYYYY submissive and suffer from major BBS

So our main female leads dad taught her how to shoot gun when she was 8? Cause he died when she was 9????

As an MC, it was a good book
As a romance, it sucked

If you loved Hannaford Prep and The Butcher then you will love J Bree's spin off series Unseen MC, Angel Unseen is book 1 and it did not disappoint. I was hooked from the prologue, I loved Angel and I wanted to know all of her secrets she was hiding, she had major deep set issues which made my heart break for her. Tomi was taken with Angel the moment he sees her the for first time and the way she dances was like casting a spell over him, and thanks to the Callaghan Curse he's done for. He's a total jerk to her most of the time as he tries to sort through his feelings while trying to get to the bottom of the bullshit happening within the MC.

I devoured this book, the chemistry between them was hella intense, the writing and character development was beautifully done, I just loved everything about this book and I can't wait for book 2........

I'm not a fan of MC but I decided to give this one a try. I really liked the beginning and I really thought that the curse was going to give the story an interesting twist. I don't know why the author created this whole being "struck" if she wasn't going to emphasize anything about the origin or power of the curse throughout the book. I must say that I was worried about her bag of money the whole freaking time, so unpleasant. Still, it got me out of a rut and I rather enjoyed it.

Hero and heroine do not meet until 13%. Before that is a lot of club business “stuff” and what the heroine is going through.
The book was a bit wordy. A lot of nothing.
I got tired of the way the hero spoke to the heroine repeatedly. The heroine needed love and support and he just yelled and called her names.
Wishy-washy hero.
Parts of the story were ridiculous.
I love a jerky hero, but there was nothing redeemable about the hero.

Read other books by this author in the future: yes
MC: Angel, Tomi
SC: Rue, Poe

This is supposed to be a standalone book and the story of the Main Characters is a HEA at the end. But the end has a cliffhanger, so I think there will be more standalone books about the Unseen. I classified the book as na but actually some of the side characters are nearly 18, and Poe and Tomis sister are around 17.

I liked the main characters Angel and Tomi. But Tomi had to grow on me, because his treatment of Angel was not very nice at the beginning. The bikers had a lot of prejudices against Angel, because she had to work as a stripper. Also I liked that Angel was not a virgin, but actually she was also not experienced but Tomi assumed she was because she had to work as a stripper - mainly because she had learned to dance and had no other profession at the time and she needed to work somewhere, where she got cash.

I liked characters I already knew from the Hannaford Prep series made an appearance. And Poe, who already had a small appearance in that series, has a bigger part in this book as a side character. I hope that we will see more of the Hannaford people in the next Unseen book, if there will be one.

What I did not like were all the stereotypes: bikers are outlaws, rule the town, deal weapons, have rivalries with other biker MCs and are feared. I think some of them are true, but I felt like there were too much of these.

But it was a good story and even though I normally don’t like to read MC stories I enjoyed this one.

Ugh balled my eyes out for this stripper with a heart of gold and a brain to match.

Angel is trying to just make it - so she can escape her shitty past - all she wants is to graduate, be an accountant and live that quiet live with a house of her own and some nice friends.

But she's being dragged by everyone's assumptions about her, her past chasing her and not least of all the H (Tomi).

I wanted more grovel from the H (like crawling over glass kind) and I wanted more insight into how Angel was able to overcome her traumatic past.

3.5 star

Tomi was an epic ass for the first 60% and while he did eventually remove his head from his sphincter. I don’t know if that’s enough to make up for his poor behavior. I didn’t like the way he spoke to Angel and degraded her for being a stripper while he was infamous for sleeping with all of them.

Overall, the book is good but Tomi ruined it for me.

“𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩’𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙄’𝙢 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜.”

That cliffhanger 👏
No wonder y’all are mad.

I am utterly in love with the Mounts Bay world.
Addicted, obsessed and cannot stop binging. Keep in mind that if you aren’t familiar with the typical style an MC romance is written in, this one may be a bit of an adjustment for you.

Whilst it took me a little longer to sink into Angel Unseen compared to the others as there are MANY new characters to be introduced to, every character has their role to play and they will no doubt continue to be a big part as future sequels are released (anyone else curious about Trink and her secrets?)!

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱:
- Dual POV
- Family dinner
- Furniture gifts
- Rue and Tomis brotherhood banter
- Angel and Poes friendship and support
- Morningstar cross overs
- CeCee
- Patches and jackets (what’s a girl need to do to be walked through a clubhouse as a symbol of being owned god damn 🥵)

The entire story gave me sons of anarchy vibes and now I’m trying to determine how I can squeeze in a series rewatch!

I really enjoyed this. On to Queen Crow next!

1%er MC Romance

Just a heads up that this is definitely a 1%er MC Romance. There is death, violence and women are definitely not treated with respect unless they are the ‘chosen one’. Essentially all women are receptacles until the man chooses them to be theirs. I don’t find men who treat women like this attractive or any way admirable in real life and I feel uncomfortable reading about it in romantic fiction. However, this book was very well written and I couldn’t stop reading it. I didn’t like myself very much for reading it, but I stayed up way too late to finish it.

This story is based around the Unseen MC, which is a dangerous and ruthless MC, however it’s all about the family for them and they will do anything to protect what’s theirs. The men of the family, are supposedly ‘cursed’ to be struck by the woman they fall head over heels for. The end result is either perfect or a complete horror of a relationship. Basically our MMC Tomi really doesn’t want the hassle of being struck, so when he finds himself feeling that way about Angel, a new hot stripper at the strip club owned by the MC he wants to avoid it all costs.

Angel is living out of her car, after running away from a very bad situation. She is enrolled in college and is determined to better herself. In order to pay for college and buy herself a house she decides to find a great strip club and use all the dance classes she got as a kid. Because of the bad situation she ran away from she hates being touched, finds it hard to be around men and just wants to do her job, get paid and leave.

Obviously these two characters are going to have problems getting together. In the background of the potential relationship there is all sorts of shenanigans going on with the club, with rival clubs and internal problems which takes up quite a lot of space and time in the book. We also see Angel’s character develop and change as she starts to accept the hands of friendship offered to her.

Like I said, it’s a really gripping and well written book and I definitely enjoyed it, I just kind of don’t like myself very much for doing so!

Holy cow!! Angel Unseen has just topped my Motorcycle Club list. FOREVER!
Sorry Jax Teller, these guys rival even you 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t want to give away any spoilers because this needs to go to the top of your TBR. And then you can cuss, scream, cry and then throw your kindle before sulking to go pick it up from over the other side of the room.

The world that J Bree has created is damn amazing. So many interlocking characters, the different series she has all collide and are interwoven beautifully. Not only do we get a whole new set of people that are amazing but she brings in some of the favourites from other series effortlessly.
Giving us a fresh need of more from those guys.

The Unseen are not a club you want to mess with, and the Callaghan family? They’re the ones you don’t even want to look at funny. They’re ruthless. They not only run the Unseen MC but they also run the hottest strip club around.

Tomi knows what he wants and that doesn’t involve the new stripper at his club causing trouble. He has his family, his MC, The Boulevard and a hundred willing girls.
What he isn’t expecting is to get ‘struck by an Angel.

Angel has a plan. She knows her limits, and she knows how to get what she wants. Work hard then she can relax. She may be running and a little broken inside, but she is determined to get what she wants, what she needs.
College. House. Freedom. Love?

This book had me hooked from the very first paragraph. It also has me waiting on the edge of my seat for more of this world.
That last line - I’m broken!!!

This book is a stand alone. You can definitely read it without the rest of the back catalogue, although I definitely recommend reading everything that J Bree writes. She’s fabulous and addictive and a one click author. So you should definitely get this on pre order. It won’t disappoint 🖤

I can’t believe this book is from the same person who wrote Hannaford Prep.
I rolled my eyes and gagged so much I thought I would for sure fucking puke before the end of this.
The main character keeps saying she doesn’t think she’s better than the other strippers but her actions told a different story. And then she does feel like the guy is so much more than she deserves cause he’s so fucking perfect. Oh my.
He treats her like shit for most of the book and like he owns her in the rest of it. Keeps telling her what to do or deciding things without asking what she thinks of it. The woman already survived a rapist in her past and now she is in an abusive relationship. But it’s great because he “gives her space when she needs it”.
And I definitely didn’t buy the “romance”. I fucking hate this man, seriously.
That ‘struck curse or whatever is pure bullshit and I hate it too.
And the age thing. Got it from the beginning and hated it from then on.
I hate everything.
That’s it. There’s a lot of other problems, and so much sexism in this shit, but I’m DONE.
I fucking hate everything.

this story had a lot of great depth. It was definitely So much more than a romance. There were sub plots that definitely kept me hooked, character development that had me super invested, twists I didn’t see coming.

I’m relatively new to MC type romances, I’ve only read a handful, but I’m so happy I picked this one up. It’s a dynamic you don’t see super often, but I was really intrigued by.

Our heroine is a fighter, she does what needs to be done to survive. She’s sassy and strong and gives back whatever she gets. I love this type of heroine, she’s one of my favorite type of characters to read about. I also loved seeing the hero evolve and break for her. He’s so set in his ways in the beginning, fighting his feelings but the bond they shared was a pull, that couldn’t be broken.

This story definitely ended on a cliff hanger and I hope we get more of this story and MC. Because my jaw was in the floor by the end.

Holy crap!

Wow this book blew me away! I'm not sure how she does it but this author never seems to let me down. Her writing is a work of art and so freaking amazing! I cannot wait to read what happens next with Poe. I have been waiting for this since the ending of the Hannaford Prep series! I also wouldn't mind a book on Nate sometime in the future as well! This book deserves all the stars just like every book before it!
