When alien first contact goes horribly wrong

Romance, adventure and epic space battles set against the backdrop of Earth being involuntarily drawn into an alien war resulting in Earth’s first heroic space warrior.

A thousand years ago, began a cataclysmic war - the Brinlo to defend their slave trade at all costs and the fearsome Hogantha to end it – forever.

Today, alien first contact goes horribly wrong. The dreaded Brinlo arrive to enslave Earth and hide from their mortal enemy. Earth needs a desperate miracle and human champion to end the Brinlo occupation and the mass transport of human slaves to other planets.

Ex-Marine pilot Derek Hamilton is kidnapped and sent to the slave auctions on Cren Siblis. He kills his alien captors then joins with legendary, Hogantha warriors and alien, female partner, Peebo Lim.

Constantly on the run from killers, Derek and Peebo must use every ounce of skill and cunning to survive and complete their quest to find out when the Brinlo Armada will return 'en mass' to Earth.

Time is running out for Earth as they bribe, infiltrate and fight to acquire the one piece of data they frantically need. Then and only then can the mighty Hogantha Space Fleet strike the loathsome Brinlo ending the thousand-year war.

The fate of Earth hangs in the delicate balance of that epic battle, but ends with a terrible cost.

Hi there. I'm Jon Thomas Skye, better known to my friends as J. T.

I love to write stories of heroic quests, ancient prophecies and mythical journeys along roads less traveled. They include grand, military space battles, secret alliances, desperate treachery, vengeance and retribution against the arrogance, elitism and glory hunting found at the highest levels of society.

From pirates, slavers, saboteurs and assassins to elite Warriors, trader families, cargo haulers and the many desperate refugees just trying to escape conscription.

I've loved to read and write science fiction, fantasy and action adventure stories my whole life and am passionate about mainstream Sci Fi, Space Opera, Military Sci Fi, and mythical Fantasy.

A Rock-Em, Sock-Em Space Battle SciFi Story

This book contains some of the more violent activities that I’ve come across in a while; that’s OK, it’s just an observation, and a path I didn’t expect The Author to take.

The story quickly devolves into lots of subterfuge, and somewhat constant action — but one thing The Author never quite addresses is how well a certain human is able to talk to (or understand) many different alien languages and customs while on other planets — I can only think, “Wow! We humans sure are smart!”

And, I guess another thing that’s puzzling (or not well explained by The Author), is how a certain spacecraft can crash and burn, yet the alien pilot readily has intergalactic currency to spend after barely getting out of the spaceship with her life. (The woman and her companion also manage to travel dozens of kilometers across a dry, barren world without food or drink — tho, The Author does have them scavenge for some of the buried water sources.)

This book MAYBE deserves 5-stars, but it seemed lacking in some ways. Still, I enjoyed the story, and it was a welcome distraction. Definitely go read this series and have some fun enjoying it!

Not What I Expected from the Preview

What goes most horribly wrong here is this storyline, not first contact. The author shows a stunning lack of scientific knowledge, poorly refined writing skills and no grammar or punctuation skills. There is a thin plot thread but as delivered it fails to capture my interest. The characters are flat and undeveloped. The basic story is peppered with gratuitous violence and death, and plagued by seemingly random actions and one thinly supported romance. And the story doesn’t end, the author tries to entice the reader to continue to the next installment.

My recommendation is to leave this book on the shelf.

Good guys and bad guys

The plot was predictable and technology was described from a fighter pilots standpoint. It was interesting and answered questions I had when I read other books first. The interesting inter species interactions are better in later books.
