As the survivors finally reached higher ground, they quickly realized they wouldn’t be able to relax anytime soon. They weren’t alone.
The torturous rain continued to fall. Skies were gray and dreary for as far as the eye can see. Each step became harder than the last but their only choice was to continue forward in search of safety.
It’s every man for himself as the clock continues to tick. Will the survivors have what it takes to survive the end of the world or will they lose the battle for their lives?
Kellee L. Greene is a stay-at-home mom to two super awesome and wonderfully sassy children. She loves to read, draw, and spend time with her family when she's not writing. Writing and having people read her books has been a long time dream of hers and she's excited to write more. Her favorite genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi. Kellee lives in Wisconsin with her husband, two kids, and two cats.
What a harrowing journey these characters are facing! Ravenous animals, new faces, reunions, shady people, and controlling communities! But also hope and friendly encounters! The story continues right where it left off in the last book. Our groups are still trying to find a safe haven to call home. They have to deal with the constant rain and with constantly looking over their shoulders just in case danger arrives. I received an ARC copy for an honest review. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
Ok the story is fast moving. The characters are constantly questioning what they should do next. They are indecisive and afraid of risk, always talking about safety. This is the apocalypse. Safety is never a given. So good story, romance along the way, with no safety questions arising or worry about pregnancy. Lions and gorillas are out if the zoo terrifying some of our survivors. The thing is the lions would be off eating livestock, afraid of people. Gorillas are vegetarian so no use for people. I will read the rest to see what happens but there are some issues.
Swamp by Kellee Greene is another addictive post apocalyptic read. As the survivors continue to find their new place in this wet, rainy world, they also find new challenges and unexpected threats. Greene keeps you entertained as they come together and we finally see some of her group on the brink of emerging together. Fear is still fresh, the tensions are still high as each new challenge is tossed their way. Greene keeps you intrigues in yet another addition to this series. I can't wait to read more.
This series shouldn't have been so long. I get bored. Sometimes I like it and others.... I can barely pick it up. This book was a bit better, but I'm not sure I care about the characters.
