Robert Kirkman is an American comic book writer best known for his work on The Walking Dead, Invincible for Image Comics, as well as Ultimate X-Men and Marvel Zombies for Marvel Comics. He has also collaborated with Image Comics co-founder Todd McFarlane on the series Haunt. He is one of the five partners of Image Comics, and the only one of the five who was not one of the original co-founders of that publisher.

Robert Kirkman's first comic books were self-published under his own Funk-o-Tron label. Along with childhood friend Tony Moore, Kirkman created Battle Pope which was published in late 2001. Battle Pope ran for over 2 years along with other Funk-o-Tron published books such as InkPunks and Double Take.

In July of 2002, Robert's first work for another company began, with a 4-part SuperPatriot series for Image, along with Battle Pope backup story artist Cory Walker. Robert's creator-owned projects followed shortly thereafter, including Tech Jacket, Invincible and Walking Dead.

Despite guesting a number of Image universe stars, this follow up series is seriously not worth reading and you'll miss nothing by not reading it! It's like a completely different series to the first volume, possibly due to Robert Kirkman not writing it, and when I say possibly, I mean essentially. 4/12

Not much to report from the second volume, this is a relaunch of sorts as it doesn’t start directly after the first book. The story was ok and was a good read but definitely was a downgrade on the first volume.

Brit Vol. 2 AWOL collects issues 1-6 of the series written by Bruce Brown with art by Andy Kuhn.

The indestructible Brit comes out of retirement only to die in the mission... Only to be discovered as a fake and is found frozen under the Pentagon... Which is also found out to faked and he was actually trapped in a government experiment. During this Brit's sister, who also has superpowers, and Donald looks for answers in Brit's death/disappearance.

This book was weird, confusing, and just plain bad. The saving grace was Donald playing a large role in the book. With a switch in writers, Brit doesn't have the same feel or the same quality of story. It also oversexualized a 50 year old woman who was completely against the idea. Very strange. The art was fine but overall story was a huge disappointment from the first volume.

This one is kind of crazy all over the place plotwise. Brit's dead, no he's not, but that's not him either, no wait, it is... Ack. What just happened? Plus he's got a sister (where did she come from? the usual place, I suspect)...who's way better looking than he is. I'm enjoying the extra time we get to spend with Donald, though - he's way more entertaining than I'd have thought. Maybe volume 3 will clear up some of the confusion/mystery.

More Brit comics starring, for most of it, not Brit. Yeah, this was a bit of a misfire. I read it and kept wondering why it sounded different than Robert Kirkman's other books. I was too oblivious to see he didn't write this one. Oh well, there are still lots of explosions and fights.

I like Brit best when he’s a part of the Invincible Universe or when we get to see him as a family man. These volumes, unfortunately, did not show either of these sides of Brit. In fact, there isn’t a lot of Brit in this volume. Instead we spend time with Donald Ferguson (the familiar android from Invincible) and with Brit’s sister.

It was a fun read, but there wasn’t anything that really stood out. I do like how the comic touches on some of the “limitations” of only having invulnerability as a super power without the usual additional abilities so many other heroes have. It was also neat to meet Brit’s sister, and I enjoyed that parts of her back story were hinted at throughout the story.

Overall, without spending much time with his wife and kid or with other Invincible characters, I found this story lacking. It could have added some more entertainment if it would have at least built upon Brit’s mythology, but it didn’t even do much of that. The completionist in me is glad that I read it, but I think it actually works better as a standalone story rather than part of a larger universe.

As I mentioned in the previous volume, this book was definitely inspired by the X-TREME era of comic books from Image in the 90’s. That has been a little played out with this story now and while I didn’t hate this volume, I definitely didn’t love it. This is probably fitting for the comparison of 90’s comics I mentioned though. I realized after reading this that Kirkman was not the writer of this volume, which also maybe explains why it lacked a bit more depth or character to it.

Undemanding kick/'splode Invincible spin-off featuring tentacled reject clones of a superpowered OAP, a giant platypus monster, and a midget death cult. Exactly the sort of easy read one needs for a Monday commute when rather tired, and still massively distracted by news of the Prime Minister fucking a dead pig.

Significant step down from the first volume and even worse because it's pretty dang sexist. I'm starting to notice hints of a bunch of sexism and some homophobia from Robert Kirkman. Hope he starts learning from this mistake.

Volume 1 was much better and more entertaining. This second volume only has Robert Kirkman as the editor.

we're back with more brit! honestly, i will say brit is probably one of if not the best invincible spin off series, in terms of "uniqueness" and overall story. (yes, im well aware brit really isnt that unique, but compared to wolfman, superpatriot, capes, etc, brit is definately the most fleshed out) i believe this volume had new writers, which is why brit's story takes such a wild turn. someone else pointed this out, but yea, the plot does feel all over the place. it starts off with brit revealed to be dead, but wait, he's not dead, but wait, he's a clone... and he has a sister??? he's getting divorced? and he has a kid? yeah its just messy. i find it interesting how kirkman always manages to write a corrupt government official who always happens to be black for a villain. it was the same with rex's and eve's backstory too. how many times is the pentagon gonna hire these guys??? anyway, albeit the story is kind of wack, it does kind of tie in not so horribly. in other words, it could have been worse

Pretty decent album!!
Continues where the previous one left off.. with some wackyness !!
We follow Brit, continuing to work for government (despite his earlier choice to retire), broken family and all, only to get himself roasted and killed during a mission.

What follows is how someone kidnapped Brit, wiped his memory and started putting clones in his place.
We get introduced to Brit's son, sister( who is also a super hero) and many other characters from the author's other comic creations..

The plot was fine - the direction they went is not really my cup of tea, but executed with polish so it evened out to being an alright yarn worth finishing.

Inferior to the 1st Vol, Because it is all over the place and it's a little too complicated. Shame Kirkman didn't wrote this one, Still somewhat enjoyable.
