A book for the serious auto enthusiast.
If you are a Corvette man - or have admired these cars from afar for years- as I have, then this is the book for you. The book is about 8 "x 8' and it covers the history of the Corvette from it's start in 1953 up until 2016 when the book was published.
I did not rate it higher because only I don't think that it really captures the excitement of the brand.
It is very well illustrated in very nice color photos from all angles that clearly chronicle the evolution of the brand. Believe me, every change for every model year is detailed from a change in the grill, to New wheels , to every engine tweak. I just think that the book was a little dry at times, like only a geek could keep reading on.
I liked the story of the 1990 ZR-1 engine model- called the LT5, designed by Lotus, built by Mercury Marine that produced 375 hp. Testers got 0-60 mph times in under 5 seconds and could reach a top speed of 175 mph. One interesting point is that the Corvette project was almost killed after two years and a slow start, but thankfully, G.M. stood behind it. By 2026, 1.5 million Corvettes have been sold.

I have all of these previous editions of this little hardcover book one came with a dustjacket as it was new others no, all are basically the same with short update that gets released every so often. they are all hardcovers and all are small. I had preordered this here but then could not find it so I had to get it from Kohls nonetheless, if you do not have the previous editions you need it if you don't like small books then it's not for you. I am a Corvette fanatic and Collector, so While Only the 2020 C8 Midengine Corvette is included in this book with the Red c8 Corvette on the cover and covered very briefly I just had to have the book. Highly recommended for Corvette Book Collectors/lovers.
