"A society has no chance of success if its women are uneducated. No chance." - Khaled Hosseini

Captain Priya Jain has shared her own experiences of working in AirInd as a pilot. This book is more of a memoir than it is a fiction.

Firstly, I feel so happy and inspired that I came across this book and read it, because it is extremely empowering and breaks stereotypes fearlessly!

Author has shared how difficult, a job is, of pilot and people are completely oblivious about it. We think that pilots live a glamorous life as they get to travel to different cities and countries, they do, but there are some obscure struggles which they have to undergo in order to survive. In every six months, they have exams, failing which, they may lose their job. Their routine keeps changing because of different shifts, which only makes their family uncomfortable often.

This book breaks stereotypes, in a sense that, even women can fly planes. It's a machine after all, it doesn't see if the person operating it is a man or a woman. I was so shocked when she talks about, how people in this Male dominated industry, look at women with inferiority. Women can give birth, balance their marriage life, do house work and can still fly. They just need a family, who understands their dreams.

I am flabbergasted after reading this. This book is no doubt, related to her experiences as a pilot but she has nearly touched every important topic of human life. She has talked about importance of family, fighting for your passion, having a moment to relax and just observe nature, women empowerment, etc.

Initially, I had no idea that I am going to be so dumbfounded after reading this but here I am, with loss of words, failing to express, how beautiful and humorous it was.

This book follows a smooth narration and anyone can read it, no matter if you are an aspiring pilot or engineer. Read it! Everyone goes through a bit of anxiety when they have to board their first flight, isn't it? This book answers so many questions, related to flights, airports and their workings. So you know, you don't want to miss out on reading a great book.

I really admire author for being super transparent in this book, not only inspiring moments, but she has shared embarrassing moments as well in this book. Go and grab this book, because you are going to take away so much from this book. This is one of my favorites of 2020 and there is a huge respect for every woman, who is breaking stereotypes in this patriarchy society. Read it NOW!

A work or a goal without which there is no peace, joy, zest or cannot sleep is exactly the one you should pursue. "The universe will have your back, if you follow your heart", my mind now remembers this statement written somewhere.

A girl whose only dream is to fly, waits for 7 long years without opting for any other job as it might deviate her from her true path. The story of the dream guarded and realised with faith is named as Wheels up!: Tales from the cockpit by Captain Pria Jain.

The truth and meaning of Life's purpose and love, the stunning realizations the girl found on the path of this journey makes us ponder.

The very fact that she persists despite several challenges witness that flying is her life’s true goal. For example: The work time zone that can affect the mind and body, having to work under different air pressure, frequent change of place to sleep, having to be away from family and friends etc

Read on to find out her take on choices among a big career opportunity and being the mother and how she arrives at another turning point of her life. On her way around the country, there is a light of awareness of feminism and religious tolerance. She considers the world as her family and wants to share her learning and experiences with it.

Her path teaches her to be humble yet to continue with persistence and never give up. Several things mentioned in the book such as flying and related preparations, challenges in many stages of cruise, things that are not commonly known are useful for everyone who can undoubtedly make air travel easier for each other.

It is a must read for the aspiring pilots. A good read it is with different dimensions, genre, taste and complex topics like aviation technology is presented in a comprehensible manner. It is Pria jain’s first book that has several characteristics of a good writer which makes me look forward for her next one.

Being in aviation industry has its own pros and cons, this is such an amazing book by the author who shares her own experiences through stories which will enhance your reading experience in a way you have never ever imagined. Being a pilot is never easy, for us who are not much aware of the job and the field, we think that it's just a job which is full of glamour and style but that's not it. The author shares how actually the aviation industry works and what is the real life challenges of a pilot that we are not aware. It's just an amazing and short fast paced reede which captures a pilot's life from a complete different angle, it's something that could be enjoyed by everyone even if you are not from that industry or even if you are from that industry, you are going to love it because it's so raw and unfiltered.
