At first I didn’t understand why Katya was staying with Logan after everything but once I realised why I had such deep respect and admiration for her. Connor was a good Hero and I am so glad he did not give up on her. This book definitely did have triggers that some would probably not be able to handle so I am glad the author put in that warning. This was a good and quick read for me.

I loved this dark and intense read. Katya is in an abusive relationship when Connor rescues her. Both Connor and Katya have been broken and battered but they find solace in each other. Lots of drama and emotion. Great characters with lots of depth. I was hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!

I really liked the premise of this book. It definitely made for a good dark romance. I knew very little about the book going in and I honestly think that’s the best way to approach it. It made for a more interesting ride. It is a quick read but deals with some heavy topics so head the warnings before diving it. Ms. Richards is always really good about putting those warnings in her books and I appreciate that. Trigger warnings for domestic violence and miscarriage. But I also liked how the author put info on DV in the beginning of the book to help raise awareness and remind survivors of domestic violence how worthy they are. The accuracy of the DV portrayal in this book was well done. I thought I knew the reason the Katya was staying with Logan but I didn’t imagine all of it. I like being surprised at the end of a suspenseful book like this and that doesn’t always happen so that made me enjoy this more. There are some parts that were hard to read but I feel like the author always handles even the darkest parts of her books delicately and nothing felt like it was put in the book as a shock factor. The story flowed well and I really enjoyed the ending. I only wish we could have had just a little more build up between Connor and Katya before their date. For some reason that part felt different than the rest of the book. But that’s really the only part that felt off. Other than it, it was another great dark romance from SS Richards! 🖤

Conner Pierce is the nations best criminal defense lawyer, but his past is filled with darkness and noise, all he wants is to find some inner peace. He thought he had found his quite place in the new mansion he brought but it was to be short lived when he looks out the window to next doors house and sees Katya. Katya is abused by her fiance, Logan, at first he was everything she needed but that didnt last long. Now shes is his puppet to use and abuse whilst she suffers in muted silence. That is until Conner comes to introduce himself and he sees the pain and screams she wants to let out. When Conner finds Katya beaten and bloody outside her house he does the only thing he can and takes her to his place. Though a deep connection is formed between the two and Conner offering her protection, Katya still runs back to Logan. Not able to understand why Katya wont leave Logan, Conner strides to find out what Logan holds over her. But what he finds is nothing like anyone could ever imagine. Well written captivating read. With dynamic characters that steal your mind and emotions in this dark romance read. With suspense, desire, twists and dark themes of abuse and miscarriage, this is a read not to miss.

DIRTY PUPPET is so far the most dark and intense book by this author I’ve read. Katya’s story is heartbreaking, filled with pain and fear. She’s at the mercy og Logan - the abusive man who hold her life in his claws. Her world is a dark, tormented place, and the man who’s supposed to take care of her is her hangman. Logan thrives on her fear, her pain, and her saddness. But the moment she meets Connor, her life changes. Determined to help her, and figure out the reason behind her fear, Connor decides to set her free from Logan.
This story is heart-wrecking, painful, and full of triggers. There’s a lot of violence, both mental and physical, and I know some people might find it disturbing, but the story... this is so far, one of the best books Sam has ever written. You can get inside Katya’s head, feel her fear, and witness how broken she is, when at the same time, all you wish to do is kill Logan.
It’s very intense dark, psychological romance. And I loved it, even though my heart broke for Katya.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This book releases August 20, 2020, so save the date guys, because it’s a must read!

Dirty Puppet is a dark romance with some sensitive themes. *WARNING* abuse physical and mental.... read with caution if those bother you.
This is by far the darkest read I've read by this wonderful author. Every story she writes you as the reader are in the story with the characters. You feel what they feel.

Our 3 major players of this story are Connor, Katya and Logan.
Conner is the best defense attorney, and yes he's tall dark and handsome but he has a dark past and all he wants is peace.
Katya is the most strongest and fierce heroine I've read about and she's being abused by her fiance Logan.
Story starts when Connor spots Katya from across the street with such sadness and he hears her inner screams, a connection like no other. One day Conner finds Katya beaten and bloody, he doesn't hesitate he takes her to his home... why hasn't she run away, will he be able to save her
... A MUST READ to find the answers.

Dark romance lovers you will NOT be disappointed.

This is a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love dark romance so I was really curious about this story after reading all trigger warnings.

I really enjoyed it! The premise was great and I liked main characters, especially Katya’s strength. Author did a great job portraying domestic violence and my heart was breaking for Katya.
The story was fast paced but definitely intense.
I just wish there was more build up between Katya and Connor. Their date felt a bit rushed and it seemed like it was out of character for Katya.
The ending definitely left me wanting more, maybe a glimpse of their life together in the future.

I look forward to read more from this author.

Obsession has a man, Logan, so mean, he thinks it’s love. He calls her puppet. She has a name and it’s Katya who was lively at one point in her life but it just happened that she was late to work and her boss was firing her, that‘s how she met Logan. Conner is the new neighbor who caught a glance at his neighbor, Katya. He sees her sadness. He even goes to meet the neighbor. You’ll yell at the book, feeling her pain. You’ll wish you can give Logan his righteousness behind a kick to the curb! You’ll feel so many things reading this book! A good read.

This book has triggers! This book had me wanting to know more from the very beginning. What was up with Connor, what was going on with Katya. What of the red door? I thought I may have figured it out but was wrong. Then new information was revealed and I thought I knew what was in there. In the end it was not what I could have dreamed of. I thought it was a great story that flowed wonderfully. It was an emotional roller coaster rider for me and kept me on the edge of my seat, I just had to see how it ended.

Katya is one of the most strongest, incredible and fierce women you'll get to read. She has suffered for so long and what she endured and why will surprise you.

Conner is her soul. No doubt about it. He's got his own demons but they way he connects to this quiet woman will floor you.

Logan is a monster. Souless, heaettheartless and vile. He gets his and Katya finds herself. It's dark but has a moral that will hit home for too many unfortunately. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.

Dark storyline dealing with severe abuse as the author painted a believable picture of Katya’s hellish existence with Logan.
The sad and disturbing aspect of this gritty storyline is the fact that horrible abuse like this actually exists currently in the world we live in.
I loved the way Conner never gave up the chance to rescue Katya even though she insisted on returning to Logan for reasons of her own.
Raw, disturbing and well told. I appreciated the HEA at the end.

I really loved this story. It's dark, fast paced, and intense. Kayla is living with Logan who's very abusive. Connor moved in next door and ends up saving Kayla from Logan. Connor and Kayla to two souls who don't trust easily but they can relate to each other. The mental and physical abuse was horrendous. This was so good and I'm glad Connor got Kayla away from Logan. This is the first book I've read from this author but not the last. This book really drew me and and I couldn't wait to finish. Dark and Twisted
“Dirty Puppet” is a dark and twisted tale of Katya who is living in a very abusive relationship with Logan. Connor her new neighbor saves her. Katya and Connor are two broken souls who don’t trust easily and yet finds a kindred soul. This is an intense read that tugs at your heart and has you rooting for the main characters. I recommend this tale.

This is a dark read that touches on mental and physical abuse, Katya is our suffering female character is is being both mentally and physically abused by her fiancé Logan. Connor moves in next door and he can tell Katya is in pain and suffering. This is a good read and the author does very well depicting these characters and the situation. I’d definitely recommend this book.

A dark story filled with triggers so reader beware. Given that information, I found this story to be an emotional read. It was sad and unbelievably horrifying that he could act that way but the author made it believable hence the horror. I liked that he was able to feel what was happening which gave the story heart.

Wow that was a hauntingly incredible story, one full of such emotion and pure grit i couldn't put it down! It was heartbreaking learning about what Connor had been through and discovering Katya faced a similar situation, i can see why he was drawn to her. I'm never failed to be taken on an incredible journey whenever i read a book by this author and i am so glad i get to do so.
