It was a shocking experience that jump-started Brenda Novak’s bestselling author career.

“I caught my day-care provider drugging my children with cough syrup and Tylenol to get them to sleep while I was away,” Brenda says. “It was then that I decided that I needed to do something from home.”

However, writing was the last profession she expected to undertake. In fact, Brenda swears she didn’t have a creative bone in her body. In school, math and science were her best subjects, and when it came time to pick a major in college, she chose business.

Abandoning her academic scholarship to Brigham Young University at the age of 20 in order to get married and start a family, Brenda dabbled in commercial real estate, then became a loan officer.

“When I first got the idea to become a novelist, it took me five years to teach myself the craft and finish my first book,” Brenda admits. “I learned how to write by reading what others have written. The best advice for any would-be author: read, read, read….”

Brenda sold her first book, and the rest is history. Now a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, she continues to publish two or three novels a year, in a variety of genres.

Brenda and her husband, Ted, live in Sacramento and are the proud parents of five children—three girls and two boys. Now that they are empty-nesters, she spends her free time babysitting her two grandchildren.

When she’s not with her family or writing, Brenda is usually raising money for diabetes research. To date, she's raised almost $2.6 million. Her youngest son, Thad, has diabetes, and Brenda is determined to help him and others like him. She also enjoys traveling, watching sporting events and biking--she rides an amazing 20 miles every day!

Dr. Natasha Gray is relocating to Silver Springs, California after losing her pediatric practice, financial stability and deadbeat husband. She and her 6-year old son, Lucas, are starting over in this new town and she’s going to be the nurse at the New Horizons Boys & Girls Ranch. She’ll be underemployed but it’s a chance for a fresh start. Mack Amos, the man she’s loved since she was a teen, has helped her move to the rental that needs more than a little work, which has him extending his stay to help her get set up.

Natasha and Mack were first introduced in the crossover series, Whiskey Creek, but they never had significant roles in the stories except for the novella, Home For the Holidays, which I recommend reading first. I forgot but it was included as a bonus story at the end of this one (yay!) and it worked out just fine. The events from that novella are adequately covered in this story but I enjoyed listening to what happened first hand.

Natasha first met Mack when her mother married his father. Mack and his siblings were essentially raised by their oldest brother when their father was sent to jail. Natasha’s mother left a lot to be desired and the Amos brothers helped raise Natasha, who as a teen fell madly for Mack. He was nine years older and kept her at arm’s length until years later. Now there’s no excuse for them to be apart except she isn’t willing to risk her bruised heart again. This was the first time these two spent any quality time together as equal and somewhat willing adults so this felt like a new romance as opposed to a second chance one. Mack’s a great guy who bonded with her son and worked hard to prove his feelings for Natasha. She had to overcome some major hurdles, including an emotionally abusive ex-husband and a drug addicted mother. I enjoyed the story, especially on audio as the narrator handled the characters well and moved the story along nicely. And, an open ended issue from Whiskey Creek finally got resolved here. I’m such a fan of the series and it was good to return to the town and crossover characters from another beloved one.

When I Found You by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in the contemporary romance Silver Springs series. Now as with a lot of romance series the main characters in each of the Silver Springs series change in each new novel so they can be read as a standalone if choosing to do so.

Natasha Gray has just hit a low point in her life and is hoping that the move to Silver Springs will be the fresh start that she needs. Fresh off a divorce with a husband she never really loved and having just lost her pediatric practice when a nurse endangered patients lives Natasha needs to completely reset and to focus on a new job and her son.

Helping Natasha with her move to Silver Springs is Mack Amos, the one man Natasha had truly fallen for but never could have. Mack is the youngest son of a man Natasha’s mother had once married and is several years older than Natasha so the relationship had always been taboo but there was that one night seven years ago that Natasha will never forget.

Brenda Novak is an author I discovered a few years back and immediately wanted to go back and read all of her work as I loved what I had read. Of course I haven’t actually been able to do that just yet but have read quite a few of her extensive catalog and always love them. The characters seem to come to life and I’m always pulled into the story and When I Found You was much the same experience. I’ve not read all of the Silver Springs series myself and of course this read fine on it’s own and was really enjoyable.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

When I found You by Brenda Novak is the eighth book in her Silver Springs series. However, this also makes a good stand-alone novel. I’ve read several of her Silver Springs books, but have missed a few, and I never get confused reading these books out of order. They are all heartwarming stories with complex characters and they feel like coming home when I read any of her books.

Natasha Gray is a pediatrician, who has moved back to Silver Springs after her marriage and her practice imploded. Broke, divorced with a young son to raise, she takes a job as a nurse at the New Horizons Girls & Boys Ranch. She takes the job as a nurse as it’s all she can get after her pediatrics practice dissolved along with her marriage.

Mack is technically her stepbrother. Mack’s father and Natasha’s mother were married briefly and Mack and his brothers helped raise Natasha when she was a teenager. Natasha had a crush on Mack, but he was several years older and he squashed her adolescent crush and she’s never forgiven him.

This is a well-developed story with characters I could root for and I loved seeing Natasha gain back her self-confidence and watch her fall back in love with Mack. I read this one straight through as it’s a fast-paced book. I recommend this book to lovers of romance and small-town stories.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

I see I'm in the minority with my review as others have loved it. Shortly after I started this book, I realized it was not for me. The cover intrigued me but I only got to 40% before throwing in the towel. I did not connect with any of the characters at all. I received a complimentary copy of this book by NetGalley. Great romance story! I haven't read about the Amos brothers before but now I want to go back and read all of their stories!! Mack and Natasha had great chemistry. Their relationship had started years ago, but it picked up nicely. There were a few disappointing parts of the book but I think the author wrapped it up nicely.

I received an advanced copy of this book.

This book is a part of a series but also reads as a stand-along book very well. Natasha and her young son are starting a new life in a new town, and run-down house after her medical practice was forced to close. Mack helps her move and get settled - their relationship is a little complicated as he was a stepbrother to her at one point in time. The story digs in to the history of this relationship, raising some important questions, and explores the possibilities of what may be.

So disappointing. The main character, Natasha, was not someone I can respect or relate to at all. She makes horrible decisions. She's supposed to be a doctor but discusses patients medical situations with other people, not even other people at the school she works at. She slept around before she was married and has no remorse about that, she wasn't "exclusive" with anyone. Yuck. She is involved with people who make terrible decisions and she makes terrible decisions right along with them. Just an unappealing story all the way around. Very disappointing.

Review copy was received from Publisher. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

I am always happy to come back to Silver Springs   and this story began in Whiskey Creek.   I actually remembered these characters from reading Whiskey Creek probably from 7 or 8 years ago (my time).   The main story features Natasha,  and Mack Amos.  Their parents were married, so they knew each other as step siblings.

Natasha has just had a professional tragedy and an acrimonious divorce.  Mack steps up to help her get settled for her new job in Silver Springs.   Their long felt attraction finally has a chance but there are some big complications. They both have some trust issues because of different events in their past.  It does seem to be a theme that women have to be rescued.  Even a well-educated doctor like Natasha is in a bad place financially and emotionally, and Mack really stands up to support her.  He's terrific with her son, Lucas.

Another story arc is related to Dylan and Cheyenne Amos, with their son Kellan. I really enjoyed getting to revisit all the Amos family and where they are nearly 15 years (after the Dylan / Cheyenne story early in the series).  It's a bonus for the long time readers.

And to complicate things even more, the Amos father JT is shot.   Some of the brothers think Natasha's mother is responsible so this creates even more friction.  Mack really does a great job of being there for Natasha and searching for the truth rather than going on an emotional tirade.

I really enjoyed When I Found You because it gave me vignettes of characters from both series. There was plenty of heart and events in both worlds, now being combined.  I was so happy to "see" everyone again.

At the end of the audio, a novella which occurs before When I Found You is included, Home for the Holidays . The novella is about 7 years earlier.  I enjoyed it a lot, although it was a little weird to follow, rather than before as it happens previously.  It would have given a few things away if it came first though.

Narration:
Veronica Worthington is a familiar narrator to me for the series.  Her male and female voices are comfortable and with some distinctions for the different characters.   The narration was clear and easy to understand at my usual 1.5x speed.

In this book, two of Novak's series intersect - Whiskey Creek and Silver Springs. This made for a plethora of familiar characters in the book. I really enjoyed seeing the characters from both series in this one, and I was happy with the results as both main leads wove their way through some serious issues.

I felt a great deal of compassion for the main female character, Natasha Gray, as she tried to settle in Silver Springs and rebuild her life after a tragedy and scandal rocked her world and caused her to lose her medical practice, home, and marriage. Her son, Lucas, was a bright star in this book with his sweetness and precociousness. I also really liked the main male character, Mack Amos, a good man who had long covered his feelings for Natasha, which he knew were inappropriate in the first years he knew her. Mack and his family are all familiar Whiskey Creek characters, and I enjoyed seeing him come to terms with his feelings for Natasha after pretty much denying them even to himself for fifteen years due to her age and the circumstances of when he first knew her. I liked the aspect of the storyline of Mack helping her to move and get her rundown home in Silver Springs in livable condition once there. The storyline was well developed and interesting, taking off in a few intriguing directions.

It was great to see the Amos family again in this one, and I was glad a situation from their Whiskey Creek Series was resolved in this book. I found both Natasha and Mack very relatable and was rooting for them throughout the book. For Brenda Novak fans, this is one you won't want to miss!

Quick Summary: A family matters romance

My Review: When I Found You by Brenda Novak is a novel from the Silver Springs series.

About the Book:

There were a number of story strands associated with this novel.

Strand 1 -> After a devastating divorce and losing her pediatric practice, Natasha Gray returns into the family fold and back into the arms of the only man she ever loved.

Strand 2 -> Could Natasha’s sweet boy be Mack’s or was he, in fact, her ex-husband’s? How she wished he was not Ace’s child. The paternity question had the power to heal or destroy.

Strand 3 -> Refusing to run away from the renewed feelings he had for Natasha, Mack would not walk away from the woman he should have always been with. Would she be willing to give him a second chance?

Strand 4 -> When a tragic accident occurs, Mack and Natasha have to decide on which side they stand on. Will they be able to navigate their circumstances and begin to appreciate the real meaning of family, or will they walk away once and for all?

My Final Say: This was a surprisingly meaty story. I really liked it. While most strands were easy to follow and concluded with a firm resolution, there were a couple of issues that would have done well if they were tied up better. With that said, that did not detract from the overall story.

Other: There was a bonus story at the end of this audiobook. It was called Home for the Holidays. It was the prequel to Natasha and Mack’s story.

Filled with romance, tears, family drama and just plain entertainment, this book is the story of pediatrician Natasha Gray and Mack Amos. Natasha has been in love with Mack since she was a teen and moved in with the Amos brothers, along with her mom. Fighting his attraction against her, Mack has finally decided to give in to it, but has to battle his brother Grady who doesn’t approve and Natasha’s ex-husband Ace who still wants to keep Tash in his life. The drama moves quickly from one chapter to the next, with the love story flowing seamlessly, along with the complications along the way. For pure, light-hearted entertainment, this book was fabulous!

Having read The Bookstore on the Beach by Brenda Novak, I anticipated an emotional read and Novak delivered. She writes a heartbreaking complicated love story that includes struggles and redemption and always ends with a happy ending.

I love her rich, believable characters as much as I do her heartfelt original tales. Novak’s trademark includes (1) a varied cast of characters with each one facing at least one life-changing decision and (2) multigenerational stories which flow cohesively. She crafts characters you care about and willingly follow on their journey as they conquer their conflicts. Mack Amos was my favourite character in this book and I was happy that Novak included a prequel novella to this story to answer any questions I had about Mack and Natasha’s romance history.

Novak packs so much into her books. She incorporates multiple subplots with paternity issues, medical emergencies, and difficult relationships. In a recent interview, Novak shared that she’s what is called a ‘pantser’ (someone who doesn’t plot) and that she starts with the conflict and then decides which characters would be most challenged by that conflict. The plot grows out of her conflict. I can’t imagine how she was able to tie all this together with so much going on, but with this being her 61st book, I’m not surprised. She’s truly a gifted storyteller.

If you are open to a multi-generational contemporary romance book set in a small town and dealing with dysfunctional families with issues this is the book for you!

This may be book 8 of the Silver Springs series, but I had no difficulties enjoying it as a stand alone.

This was really a Whiskey Creek (WC) novel and not part of the Silver Springs series. Natasha, as a medical dr, takes a nursing position at the boys school in Silver Springs & shows up for work for like 5 minutes before running off with her druggie mother. That's about the extent of the Silver Springs tie in.

Natasha was such a tough character previously in the WC series and yet is written like an idiot with no backbone in this book. It made her into an unlikable character for me.
* She gets pregnant & doesn't have the decency to find out who the father is to make the 2 men aware of the situation
* She puts up with a loser of a husband who refuses to work to leech off of her and manipulates her to the extent that doormat Natasha gives him everything from their marital home & even gives him alimony while not requiring him to pay any child support. What an idiot.
* She takes all responsibility for the medical practice disaster and just gives up. She has a legitimate claim against the hospital that provided the nurse a recommendation and she just lets it all go and instead whines about her situation to take a nursing role after spending years becoming a doctor. What moron would do that?
* She take on the nursing job and is needed there but then constantly leaves or is preoccupied with her mess of a life. Aiyanna even tells her about a new student with medical issues coming to the school (which by the way is Austin in one chapter then is Troy a few chapters later - whoops). Natasha is so "dedicated" that she meets this boy once & then leaves work for the rest of the week to aide her druggie mother. I didn't understand why such emphasis was put on this boy when that part of the story is just dropped; only thing it showed me was how pathetic of a medical professional Natasha was.

Other items I found frustrating:
* No reason that Mack should have pulled back again after they slept together the first time. They were both adults & neither married.
* I was glad that Cheyenne's betrayal was finally brought to light. But it's ridiculous that Dylan would find out what she did and forgive it all 5 minutes later (same with the son). It was completely warped to me and ruined the Cheyenne character for me; I'd loved Dylan & Cheyenne's romance until she pulled that garbage. Lying to her husband for 15 years was much better than just being honest from the start & adopting a child. Absolutely ridiculous resolution to the issue.
* If Mack & Natasha were going to settle in Silver Springs, why would he open up a branch of the repair shop in LA which is 90 minutes away. He'd be working long hrs then driving 90 minutes each way to get home? He'd never get any time w the family at all. Dumb

I could go on but it was just an overall disappointing book. I had been looking forward to reading this one to catch up with the WC characters & more from the Silver Springs ones. Kind of a fail for both series.

This is a sort of crossover book as Natasha and Mack were peripheral characters in this author’s Whiskey Creek series. In one of her previous books, she mentioned that she would be wrapping up a thread from that series in this series. I knew she had to be talking about the Cheyenne/Dylan storyline that really upset me and made me seriously dislike the character of Cheyenne. If you’ve read the Whiskey Creek series, the incident happens in Come Home to Me which is book 6 in the series. While that does get addressed in this story, you will not be lost if you haven’t read that book. It’s all explained. I was pleasantly surprised to realize this story was really about Dylan’s brother, Mack. The Dylan/Cheyenne thing does get resolved in this book, but it’s a very small part of the story.

It took me a minute to really remember the characters of Natasha and Mack. After all, I haven’t read a Whiskey Creek book in almost 5 years. Once I remembered them, I was delighted this would be their story. Rest assured, you will in no way be lost if you haven’t read the other books. This story truly can stand alone. Back in the Whiskey River books, Natasha was a teenager whose mom married Mack’s dad. Both parents are drug addicts and terrible people, but Mack and his brother always looked out for Natasha even when though their parent’s relationship didn’t last long. She was hopelessly infatuated in Mack, but he was too old for her at the time.

Natasha and Mack have an undeniable connection. On top of their chemistry, there is also a wonderful bond between Natasha’s son and Mack. Lucas and Mack mesh immediately, which has a lot to do with Mack’s caring, kind, and patient nature. But it could also have to do with biology. Yep, this book has one of my least favorite tropes…the secret baby. There is a bit of a different take on that as Mack knew she was pregnant and had a baby within the timeline of them being intimate. The fact that Mack was so understanding of Natasha’s reasons of keeping things from him really helped me to accept things, too. I won’t spoil anything, but the paternity issue is a big part of the storyline.

I just realized that there isn’t much I can say about this storyline without spoiling one thing or another. What I can tell you is that this story had a ton of emotion. There were butterflies, gut-punches, joy, and sorrow. This one really put me through the paces and I didn’t want to put it down.

This series isn’t always bright and cheery, but there is always a so much love and heart and, of course, an HEA.

I did not realize when I started to read this book that it was part of a series but I had no problem with reading it as a standalone.
This is a story about Natasha and Mack and their complicated relationship. With many obstacles to get around and past feelings and complications to work out, it felt like a real life since all relationships have smooth and rocky portions. It's a story about starting over again.
The character, Natasha, had me frustrated at times. I found myself confused about how she would stand up to Mack and keep herself closed off to him but she would not stand up to her ex-husband or his parents. Natasha came across as a strong person at times but then she would allow herself to be disrespected and "walked on". Natasha was a rule follower but then at other times she would be a law-breaker. There seemed to be a conflict of personality with just one person. I couldn't figure out if I liked Natasha or not.
The general plot to the story was a good one and it was an easy read. I did finish the book and was happy with the ending but I didn't enjoy this one as much as I have other Brenda Novak stories.

Thanks to Harlequin - Trade Publishing and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

Natasha has been through a lot in the past year and is pushed further as events unfold. This book combined stories about paternity with a family crisis of a different sort. Natasha and Mack have been in love for a very long time but the fact that her mother was married to his father for a while kept Mack from acting on it, except for a single night in the past. Now, with Natasha divorced and Mack helping her move to Silver Springs, they can connect but still aren't sure how to proceed with their relationship. A couple of crises back in Whiskey Creek, where they grew up, throw hurdles in their way as they try to figure out where to go from there.

Emotional second chance story with complex characters. Natasha's life in LA is upended when her pediatric practice ends in scandal thanks to a criminal nurse, and her husband ends their marriage at the same time. Tash takes a job as a nurse at the New Horizons Ranch in Silver Springs, where she hopes to start over with her six-year-old son Lucas. Helping her move is Mack, her once-upon-a-time stepbrother, and teenage crush.

Mack has had feelings for Tash, too, but she was sixteen, and he was twenty-five. He knew that was wrong and worked hard to keep her at a distance. She always held a special place in his heart, so continuing to help her is a no-brainer. The difficulty remains in keeping his feelings under control.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Tash and Mack grow, but it wasn't an easy one. Their history is complicated. When her mom was married to his dad, Anya and JT had a very toxic relationship, leaving Mack and his brothers as the ones watching out for Tash. After what she saw as multiple rejections, Tash couldn't wait to go. A few years later, on a visit back to Whiskey Creek for the holidays, Tash encountered Mack, and the old feelings came rushing back for both of them. But after one night together, Mack's guilty feelings caused him to pull back, breaking her heart once more. While she's grateful for his help now, Tash wants Mack gone before her heart gets involved again.

Mack is tired of denying his feelings. Tash is free now, and Mack is determined to show her how he feels. He knows she wants nothing to do with another relationship, and winning back her trust will be a challenge, but he's up for it. I liked Mack's patience as he chipped away at Tash's resistance. He knows her well and manages an excellent blend of pushing and stepping back. The biggest issue is proving to her that he will be there when she needs him. Some sweet scenes show progress there, such as when she was sick and again during an issue with her mother later in the book. I also loved Mack's connection with Tash's son Lucas. He's an adorable kid, and the two of them are sweet together.

Tash fights hard against her feeling for Mack. After everything that's happened, she feels that the only one she can count on is herself. Mack says he'll be there, but he's walked away before. However, the longer he sticks around, the harder it is to resist the attraction between them. I got a little frustrated with how she dwelled on the past and refused to see that Mack's attitude changed dramatically. Even when she finally gave in to the sparks, she refused to see their connection as anything but physical. It takes some significant family trauma and drama to break down her walls at last. I loved the ending and seeing them both happy at last.

A lot is going on in this book besides the relationship between Tash and Mack. First up, we have Tash's ex-husband, a whiny man-child named Ace. His lack of support for her during the collapse of her practice and his selfishness during the divorce showed how horrible he was. It gets worse when he finds and reads an old diary of hers, and it stirs up suspicions about her son. His actions are childish at best and vicious at worst. Then there's the paternity issue raised in that diary. Mack is hopeful, Ace is furious, and Tash wants it all to go away.

Back in Whiskey Creek, more family drama comes home to roost. Years ago, Cheyenne Amos (Dylan's wife) made a decision with questionable ethics. That decision comes to light, and the parties involved must now answer for their choices. When I read that book, Come Home to Me, I was furious with Cheyenne and knew that it would come back to bite her. I ended up being pleased with the handling of the issue, and the relationships came out stronger.

At the end, Anya and JT's relationship takes center stage. After years away, Anya returns to JT, and they resume their shenanigans. Both of them abuse drugs and alcohol, which adds to the volatility of their relationship. When JT is found shot, and near death, suspicion immediately falls on Anya. Tash is torn between her feelings for Mack, her belief in her mother's innocence, and Anya's inability to remember what happened. Add in the reaction of the other Amos brothers, and the tension is off the charts. I had no idea which way this one would go, and it kept me turning the pages.

Right from page one Brenda Novak's When I Found You had me hooked. I found it to be quite emotional. Natasha and Mack had feelings for one another for years. When they met she was only sixteen and he was twenty five. There was no acting on their feelings then. Now years later Natasha is back in Silver Springs to start her life over. She is now a divorced single mother whose life has imploded. As a doctor living in Los Angeles she had her own pediatric practice. She could not face the whispers and looks from those around her after what had happened.

It was Mack that got in touch with her after hearing what had happened. He helped her and her son move. They reached the house she had rented after only seeing pictures of it online. To say she was disappointed is an understatement. The pictures must have been taken some time ago as the house did not resemble the pictures. Mack offered to stay and help her settle in and try to make the place like a home. A seemingly unlikely task at the moment.

I could go on but I don't want there to be spoilers. There is so much more to their story. Any fan of Brenda Novak's knows she doesn't disappoint. I loved every minute of this book and didn't want it to end.

Welcome back to Silver Springs, Whiskey Creek and welcome back to the Amos Family. While this is Natasha and Mack’s story ... long standing secrets, actually “ the best kept family secret in the world” comes to light.
Natasha has not had it easy, the only bright spot in growing up had been the Amos brothers, they helped raise her, educate her, and taught her about love and family. She has been in love with Mack Amos for 15 years. Now that her marriage and her career have fallen apart, he’s back to help her... she knows she can’t let her guard down and get too close, because he doesn’t feel the same way .
I have read everything Brenda Novak has written and I have been waiting for answers ( LOL). I loved this book, this family and this town !!!

When I Found You is another great entry in the Silver Springs series. While I felt like I was missing a bit of character information since I haven't read the Whiskey Creek series yet, I still enjoyed this book a lot. It was one of those stories where you were rooting for the love story from the start. Natasha and Mack were like fire and gasoline together...the heat and connection was off the charts. I loved the relationship development and that they both had to get out of their own way in order to come together. I also loved the relationship between Lucas and Mack.

I checked this book out of the library and am honestly sharing my rating and thoughts.

Mack and Natasha get a book!!! Can we tell I’m excited? Oh, and we finally get to see Dylan find out what Cheyenne did!

Okay, so I love the Whiskey Creek series, it’s one of my favorite, and if Natasha had to move to Silver Springs for me to go back and see what happens next, I’m good with that. This is the girl who grew up with the junky mom, now she’s a doctor, but she may still love her stepbrother.

And Mack, hmmmm, oh Mack. With a dad like J.T., the fact that he’s such a decent guy is a miracle, thank goodness Dylan was more of a dad.

These two throw sparks and even Mack’s brothers see them, as does Natasha’s ex. But with Natasha’s little boy in the mix, seeing their story unfold, it’s a case of ups and downs, and really, how much can you overcome?

This is another fantastic book written by Ms Novak! It is a novel of love, forgiveness, family and emotional turmoil. An easy story to read, I read it all in one day. There were lots of struggles and suspense for the characters you can’t help but like. The author always does a good job of describing scenery as well as the thoughts and emotions of the characters. I recommend this book and the series to anyone who likes a good romance.

When I Found You by Brenda Novak Part of the Silver Springs and Whiskey Creek series. Family drama with the Amos brothers, this time centered around Mack and their stepsister, Natasha. Enjoyable romance with reliable characters.

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the opportunity to preview the book.

There hasn’t been a book written by Brenda Novak that I haven’t loved, so it is no surprise that I loved When I Found You, too. The one thing that stood out the most to me about this book were the characters. I was completely enraptured by them and was hooked by reading about them and the story. Intricate relationships; whether they be personal, professional, old, or new; create a novel so engrossing and engaging that I found myself reading far longer than I should. I happened to see how much was left of the book and felt disappointed that there was far less left than i thought. I was intrigued about the DNA test and everything that happened surrounding and leading up to it. I have always found this area to be controversial yet very interesting. There were so many different layers and stories within stories but it all linked together and blended perfectly. I really enjoyed reading this book.

This genre is not one of my favorites although Brenda Novak does a great job of drawing you into the story with characters you feel like you know and a believable story line. Her Whisky Creek book with Cheyenne and Dylan was one of my favorites this book of Mack and Natasha was also a great read.
I would recommend this book to my friends.
