Mike and Trevor are lifelong best friends up to Mike’s unexpected suicide and after. Trevor and Polter-Mike have a problem, The Grim Reaper himself has claimed the Mike’s soul. Together they stumble around and try to find a way to fix this giant whoops-a-daisy meeting some important characters and some others who just really aren’t. Described as Bill and Ted set in the HellraiserDale and Tucker vs. Evil, if the evil in question was actually some pissed off dude from the garden of Eden.

Aphid is a book as humorous as it is dark that involves The Grim Reaper, apples from the garden of Eden, God, The Devil, and some other slightly more meaningful characters.

This is absolutely CHAOTIC! Such a unique voice. I loved the sarcasm of the narrator, it made for such a fun read. Great for anyone who’s a fan of Christopher Robertson’s (The Cotton Candy Massacre) work.

I thought the narrator’s tangents and spontaneity was so different and exciting; usually I’d find that that type of storytelling would throw me off or make me lose focus on the plot, but it all came together beautifully.

Absolutely loved it! I really enjoyed the narrator of the story, spinning off into tangents and being sarcastic, coming from someone with adhd who does that all the time, i felt represented, haha. Overall, this book was amazing, a little dark, sarcastic, and a bit of the paranormal.
My favorite part is in Gino's with the script.

Damien has a unique writing style. Which makes his stories unpredictable basically you never know what is going to happen. So sit back and find out what happens when a friend dies and the other one can then see ghost. So bring the apples.

Darkly humorous with a great splash of the supernatural I found Damien Casey to be an author with great potential and look forward to reading more of his work in the future.

This story is gory, sarcastic, fun and unpredictable, and I loved it all.

What It’s about:
Mike and Trevor are lifelong best friends, but after Mike’s suicide, Mike get scared and takes off when the Grim Reaper tries to take his soul, causing a spate unexpected suicides around town, so now Trevor and Polter-Mike have to stumble around and try to find a way to fix this giant whoops-a-daisy of a mess, before people that actually care about kill themselves.

Aphid is a book as humorous as it is dark that involves The Grim Reaper, apples from the garden of Eden, God, The Devil, and some other slightly more meaningful characters.

Being the 5th book by this author, I can’t get enough of his unique style of quirky humor, with the characters going off into random tangents for a little bit before coming back to the main story, it reminds me of the ‘Why am I Mr Pink’ scene in Reservoir Dogs.

But this book is not just gore and humor, it also has heart, you really feel for the characters, and what they are going through.

I did find a few typo’s in it, but not enough to distract me from the story.

So I you like a good comedy horror story, with lots of sarcasm, then you will love this one.
