Hey there! Before I tell you all about myself, can I invite you to join my private Rachel's Readers Facebook group? That's where my readers hang out, discuss my books, participate in giveaways and learn about new releases.
So who am I? My name is Rachel Hanna, and I am a wife, mother of three incredible kids (maybe I am a BIT biased?), two lovable doggies and one cat that lives outside and thinks he owns the world. Okay, I also have a gecko now too. Don't judge me.
I started writing as a young child, and I went into the field of Journalism for many years as an adult. Now, as a romantic fiction writer, I get to live out my own daydreams every single day and share them with readers around the world!
I'm a Southern chick living near Atlanta, so I say "yes, ma'm" and "ya'll", but I wouldn't have it any other way. :)
I enjoyed this series, but this was my favorite book in the series. Jill and Jesse or should I say Patrick were the best and I would love to have been on that bridge at their wedding! I HIGHLY recommend this one.
Jill Russell’s life had become a nightmare and she saw only one way to make the pain stop. Patrick “Jesse” Scott was trying to escape his own hell when he sees Jill about to jump off the rickety old bridge, and he decides he has to help.
Fifteen years later, Patrick has found great success in his real estate development business but he can’t seem to find success in love because he can’t forget the girl on the bridge and her stunning blue eyes. Jill has not been as lucky. She is faced with losing the retreat that she has poured her heart & soul into. When Patrick goes to look at some property he wants to turn into a conference center development, he finds those beautiful eyes again in the property owner’s face. However, Jill doesn’t recognize Patrick, so he decides to spend some time at the retreat to find out more about the woman he couldn’t forget.
I loved this book. The premise of this book was so intriguing from the first page, I couldn’t put it down. When Patrick decided to stay at the retreat when Jill didn’t recognize him, I was just waiting for that to blow up in his face. Miss Hanna was masterful at how she managed to wrap everything up into the perfect HEA. I highly recommend this book.
Oh wow, reading this book I could just imagine being in the retreat, the trees, quietness and nature all around makes me want to try yoga !
The beginning had me sobbing, smiling and laughing, as I carried on reading I was immersed in the story and couldn’t put the book down. Rachel Hanna has an amazing way of writing so you feel like you are there in your head and this story is no different. The book is set on the outskirts of Whiskey Ridge, Jill as a child spent time here on a family holiday and had a brief but life changing moment with a young boy she encounters briefly at the bridge. Fast forward 15 years and the story begins and we arrive in Jill’s adult life and follow as Patrick arrives and throws her life into disarray.
You won’t be disappointed when you choose this book, You won’t be able to put the book down. Here’s to the next book !
Jill & Jesse met 15 years ago at an abandoned bridge at a bad time in her life. Jesse managed to uplift her & give her the strength to carry on. Now he’s back in her life & about to squash her dreams. She doesn’t know that the same man that is coming to possibly buy her retreat & tear it down is the same man she met all those years ago. Jesse recognizes her though.
I love Whiskey Ridge & it’s inhabitants. Rachel Hanna writes about identifiable characters with real life problems. Jill let her dreams get ahead of her finances & it got her in a financial bind. Jesse has concentrated on business to the exclusion of everything else & now his health is suffering. This is a wonderful sweet & clean romance that will captivate you & have you wanting to visit Whiskey Ridge.
Jill has a secret about her past that she doesnt share and it changed her life forever, but will she keep the promise she made to him all those years ago. Patrick Scott never wanted to come back there again after the day that changed his life. When he goes back for business he finds her there and tries to keep his identity a secret from her but eventually it comes out. Her mountain retreat to help people is fixing to be snatched out of her hands and he will be the one to change her future just as he did her past. The Billionaire’s Retreat is book 5 in the Whiskey Ridge series by Rachel Hanna and a great addition to the series. Each book is a standalone.
Jill and Jesse met at fifteen on the bridge when Jill was at the end of her rope and thought end it would be better...but Jesse convinced her to reconsider...fast forward fifteen years. Now Jill has been running her business at “The Retreat” but has gotten behind and the bank is foreclosing and has sent someone named Patrick “Jesse” Scott to look at the possibility of purchasing for a conference center. When he meets Jill he remembers her from the bridge but she has no idea that this is the boy who saved her all those years ago...as he goes by Patrick Scott now.
Will Patrick tell Jill who he really is, let his deep seeded feelings for the teenager he never forgot and help her save “the Retreat” or will he force her to give up her life as she’s known it and have to start over again???
Jill almost jumped off a bridge to kill herself 15 years ago, but a boy stopped her. She has come to appreciate her second chance and built The Retreat on the land where the bridge is located. Patrick, who unbeknownst to her is the boy who saved her, grew up poor and has focused on being successful and making money at the cost of everything else including his health. He wants to take over The Retreat and turn it into a corporate retreat. It isn’t until he spends time with Jill that he comes to appreciate the things in life that are more important than money. Too many times we do that in our own lives, focus on getting ahead, and not stopping to see what’s in front of us. Reading this story made me grateful for what I have and each day that I am given when so many are not.
Jill meets a handsome stranger when she's fifteen who changes her life. Patrick was in a bad way himself when he helped save the adolescent Jill's life. Fifteen years later, their paths have diverged. Jill is now the owner of a struggling retreat not far from the bridge where she first met Patrick. Patrick is now a very stressed out billionaire who is looking to acquire some new property. He's surprised to meet Jill again. When she doesn't recognize him , he decides to stick around nd find out more about the mysterious girl. Will love win out over money?
The Billionaire’s Retreat by Rachel Hanna is a wonderful love story. The characters were realistic and well written. I wish the book was just a bit longer because Rachel brings each character to life and you don't want the book to end. The book was very well written and heartwarming. I read this book in one night I didn’t want to put it down. If you're looking for a good clean romance, then this book is for you. I am looking forward to the next book.
I really hated for this series to end. I want to live in Whiskey Ridge. It was delightful to meet so many characters and the books didn't have anything to do with each oter , therefore, no reason to read in any order. I started with #four before I realized the series was more about the city and did not link characters. Loved all of the books and wouldn't be able to choose a favorite.😍
This was another sweet, easy read by Rachel Hanna. I think this one wasn’t as good as some of the others. Although the main characters had a bit of a backstory together, knowing more about each of their respective backgrounds would have made this a bit better, as would giving them a little more time together before they knew they were in love. It seems a bit far fetched in comparison to some of the other books she has written.
Loved this book! Rachel Hanna is a favorite author anyway but I really love what she did with this story! The characters were believable and endearing. The love story had enough twists and turns to keep me page turning from beginning to end. A must read for romance readers! Can't wait for her next book!
When past and present reconnect in an unexpected way. Prayers are answered through challenges.
The two main characters have emotional past they share but don’t realize right away. As they come to understand the difference between each other and see out side their own problems they find themselves understanding the past and the present better
I really enjoyed reading this book. The main characters, Jill and Patrick, are very well developed and the story is believable. It is my favorite Whiskey Ridge book to date and I hope that there are more to come. I recommend reading this book.
Jill and Jesse have so much in common, only they do not realize. They meet at a time of great difficulty. Jill uses this encounter to shape the rest of her life. A great read about perseverance. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
As usual Ms Hanna delivers a very good story with happy endings. The book starts slow at first but keep at it because it is a sweet story with some surprises. I look forward to reading more of her series.
I could not put this book down. Ms Hanna’s stories always hold my interest to the last page, and this one was great too. You can depend on well written, clean book with Rachel Hanna’s writing.
I enjoyed this book! I loved the beginning where she is saved by the hero and then years later when they meet up again unknowingly to her, she in a sense saves him. IT's just a great love story, tested over time and obstacles.
cute story, but my least favorite of them all. i found things to be less romantic and the characters without the level of growth than all the others. it felt like one "oh no" trauma after another instead of letting the people stand for themselves.
Jill is trying to save her business and one person is in the way, Patrick. They have a way to go for Jill finds out who Patrick is. With the yoga class he is learning to relax. Hope there will be more in this series. Great author and a must read series. Good clean romance.
Another great book by Rachel Hannah. I love this series. This was a good clean love story. I haven’t read a single book in this series that wasn’t good.
Two desperately unhappy teens meet, connect, save each other from a possible tragic situation. They meet again years later and a gentle happy ending ensues.
