When he burst into my life, he set everything on fire. He is a multi-millionaire, escaped inmate serving life in prison for a double murder he didn’t commit. He was once my only friend and my first crush. He doesn’t ask for help and I don’t offer. His hair falls into his face and a strand brushes along his chiseled jaw. His vulnerability is disarming. We both know that he shouldn’t be here, but when I stare into his piercing, intense eyes, I can’t look away. I want to tell him to leave, but then he leans over and runs his finger over my lower lip. When our mouths touch, I know that I won’t be able to stop. What happens when one night isn’t enough?

BLACK EDGE Series (5 books!)
Mr. Black bought me at a secret auction on his yacht. I’ve never done anything like this before. What happens when one night isn’t enough?
3.75 stars--THE PERFECT STRANGER is the first instalment in Charlotte Byrd’s contemporary, adult THE PERFECT STRANGER erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on speech pathologist Isabelle Nesbit, and hedge-fund investor/escaped prisoner Tyler McDermott.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Tyler and Isabelle) THE PERFECT STRANGER follows in the aftermath of a prison escape by three convicted murderers including former hedge fund investor Tyler McDermott. Tyler McDermott was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison for the killing of his wife, her lover and her unborn child but like all men accused of such heinous crimes, Tyler claims walked into the crime scene never knowing the extent of his wife’s infidelity. With no where to go, Tyler heads to the last safe haven, to the woman he once loved, a long time ago. Enter speech pathologist Isabelle Nesbitt. What ensues is the quick rebuilding friendship and relationship between Isabelle and Tyler, while locked down in Isabelle’s house, and the potential fall-out as the police continue their search for the escaped convicts.
Tyler McDermott claims he was not responsible for the death of his wife but the prosecuting attorney and police thought otherwise. Running from a horrific childhood, Tyler became a successful hedge fund investor but all the money would not help when he was found guilty of killing his wife. Isabelle Nesbitt is a bit of a recluse, withdrawn from the world but otherwise surviving on her own but is also keeping secrets, secrets that may threaten her current situation. Having no idea what had happened to Tyler, Isabelle is shocked to learn that he had been convicted of a horrible crime.
The relationship between Isabelle and Tyler is one of second chances-of a sort. A one-time best friends, secret crush wherein Tyler professes his love for a woman he hasn’t seen in several years. Isabelle knows that to harbor a fugitive could mean a prison sentence for herself but Isabelle believes that Tyler is telling the truth, and is willing to help Tyler hide from the law. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text.
THE PERFECT STRANGER is a story of rekindling friendships; insta-lust to love between two people separated by distance, time and prison. The premise is engaging and intriguing; the romance is furious and fast; the characters are tragic and flawed.
This book started of promising but then for me it feel flat. The only thing that made me keep reading was the romance, they had a deep connection that you felt through the pages which i really liked so I am excited to see how there future will unfold.
Absolutely Brilliant!!! I Loved this thrilling book, and I could Not put it down. Charlotte Byrd's words sucked me in from the very begining ,all the way through this story Tyler and Isabelle captivated me. I related to Isabelle and the way she hid from the world, a very organised predictable world, which was to be totally blown apart when Tyler suddenly comes back into her life in a very unconventional way. Tyler is her childhood best friend and putting it mildly he is in Big trouble....a convicted felon but insists he is innocent of the crime....hes on the run and now hiding out in Isabelle's home. After the initial shock they both begin to get to know eachother again after many years of being apart, the chemistry and attraction they have felt for one another explodes. But with a price on his head ,the cops hunting for him and the whole of America knowing who he is how could Tyler and Isabelle ever be together. I was on THE EDGE of my seat with this story...it was full of surprises and I felt a kaleidoscope of emotions whilst reading,I just couldn't get enough and I cannot wait for book 2... This is going to be another winning series from Charlotte Byrd and I highly recommend it Fantastic 5 stars.
The Perfect Strange is the first book in a new series by Charlotte Byrd. From the very first page to the cliffhanger ending, you are drawn into the story. There's plenty of drama, passion, mystery, suspense, sizzling chemistry, so many questions but very answers, and a roller coaster ride of emotions to keep you turning the pages to see how the story unfolds.
I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

This book is stunningly breathtaking. It’s a quick easy read, looks like there will be multiple books to follow but Charlotte Byrd never leaves her readers hanging for long. Tyler is a different anti hero from Ms. Byrd’s usual leading male characters and I like him. The beginning pages are like getting gut punched and with a snap of her fingers this author truly engages us in her book. I was given an arc of this book for a fair and honest review.
An escaped prisoner running for his life. This is full of drama, suspense, intrigue, danger, and romance. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
Awesome book, I could not put it down, therefore I read it in one night. It keeps you wanting to know more. I can't wait for the second book to be released
This is the first book I've read from this author and all I can say right now is..... WOW! This story pulled me in from the first page and had me intrigued throughout. Tyler and Isabelle's story was explosive, sexy, suspenseful and seducing that by the last page I was ready to throw my tablet because I need so much more and that ending had me screaming WTH!!!!
A stranger brings fears to her quiet, uneventful life.
Little did Isabelle know that she would be held at knife point from right in front of her house door. It was so unexpected with her leading as quiet and unobtrusive life as she did. The perpetrator was disguising his voice. Little did she know why. Tyler wasn't sure if his long ago best friend lived in the house he was scoping. He didn't want to involve her in his big mess. He was wrongly convicted of murders and was sentenced to life in prison. But he was hurt and had to find some place to go to hide until he was healed enough. Then he planned on leaving Isabelle's house. Things don't always work out easily. There is something still there in feelings for each other that they are learning. The decisions made by Tyler and Isabelle could have life changing effects. This is an intriguing book written by Charlotte Byrd. A definite series to read completely to find out what happens. Fantastic book and really loved reading it.
I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Another dramatic, suspenseful story that only Charlotte. Byrd can tell. The Perfect Stranger will pull you in from the beginning with each page you read that is full of angst and mystery. Tyler a millionaire sent to prison for murder that he did not commit, escapes from prison and goes to the one person that be able to help him, his childhood friend and first crush, Isabelle. Isabelle is a loner and plagued with anxiety and apprehension but with one look at Tyler at her door, the chemistry between them at first glance is full of emotion. Isabelle puts her fears behind her when she agrees to help Tyler and give him shelter. What a suspenseful ride that takes places between Tyler and Isabelle as the chemistry between them is hot, steamy and explosive. Now these two will begin a journey that is full of danger, mystery and passion as they work together to keep Tyler out of prison and find the real killer. Now the unexpected happens leading to a suspenseful cliffhanger. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book. Can't wait for the next book to find out how everything will unfold.
Charlotte gives us the first book in a new series of six, so we are prepared for there to be a cliffhanger at the end. I was not surprised for it, was kinda expecting it. The second book is coming up!
Isabella is a homebody, she does work as a Speech Therapist with young children, but spends most of the rest of her time secluded in her house. So when she is attacked by a masked man at her own door, her boring life has just been amped up to High Voltage! Then she finds out he is Tyler, her only friend in Middle School, and he is a convicted murderer who has just escaped from prison with two other inmates.
The chemistry between Isabella and Tyler is still there, practically palpaple. Police are everywhere, blocking roads, looking for them. They must figure a way out of the mess they're in. Tyler says he 's innocent, set up for killing his wife, her unborn child, and her lover.
This was an enjoyable read, looking forward to the next installment. A 4-1/2 STARS!

It's an erotic book usually for adult entertainment since there are is lots of explicit language during the erotic moments in the book.
He is a multi-millionaire his company name is Hedge Fund he was a trader. His name is Tyler McDermott, who is an innmate that escaped the d.o.c as an inmate serving life in prison. In this penitentiary for a double murder of his wife and her lover Greg. Tyler describes himself as an animal lover he has ashy blue eyes and he's an extrovert that apparently loves people. Isabella is the type that does not love money or fancy expensive possessions. Isabelle is a speech therapist. She made the mistake of opening the door for a stranger. One day she got taken hostage in her own home. She is described as a book nerd at school although I believe she has an extremely intelligent mind that had a huge thirst for knowledge . Isabella not a very popular teen at the time and usually all alone and known to be a loner.
The weakness of the story?
— Missing information Isabella has long hair we don't know the color, so we can't visualize the person properly?
— Tyler has ashy blue eyes also does not mention anything about his hair color or if its short, long or bald?
— In every chapter the first pages have a sentence and no spaces at the beginning of the sentence.
When Isabella mentioned the text but does tell us what it says or who texted her?
My review for the book?
In My review of The Perfect Stranger with the author Charlotte Byrd did an excellent job with the chapter and knowing who was talking and describe the characters very briefly in the chapters of the book. The only problem is I don't like this type of suspense and cliffhangers ending without knowing anything about the end of the book.I have to wait to get the other one when I have the money it's called The Perfect Cover. There was some mistake here and there, although she did an excellent job and the twist was beautifully done and the story is easy to follow and easy to understand. For many people it can relate to a lot of people in their personal life and how weird life is and very mysterious sometimes. I love how Charlotte even made a twist with the erotic scenes in the book, so it didn't seem so blah she made it so perfect and well put together you never think that would happen in this type of book it through me for a loop because I thought here comes just another sad ending but nope not this time.
My recommendation
I definitely recommend everyone to read this awesome book and then msg me and let me know what you think of the book !!!
Do I agree with the author's view?
I agree of Charlotte Byrd point of view of the story and how well it was can't wait for the second one.
I so agree with Charlotte Byrd writing the story and how she put all of it together beautifully and well explained.
Can I follow the story of the author thesis?
To be honest when I came across this book the back cover didn't explain properly what this book would be about that the reason I wrote a short explanation as to explain the book better.
What is the author style of writing? Charlotte Byrd book is a Narrative.
My point of view of the language clear and convincing?
Charlotte Byrd did an excellent job on the language, and it was clear except at each chapter the first sentence they made a spelling error as putting the words all together.
The point of view of the ideas well-developed?
Charlotte Byrd did an excellent job with the idea and development of the story and how easy it is to follow.
Is all area are covered by the author?
What area is not covered by the author?
Charlotte Byrd just forgot these things — Missing information Isabella has long hair we don't know the color, so we can't visualize the person properly?
— Tyler has ashy blue eyes also does not mention anything about his hair color or if its short, long or bald?
— In every chapter the first pages have a sentence and no spaces at the beginning of the sentence.

The Perfect Stranger, by Charlotte Byrd.Whaaaaaa! I love this book. Hot! Hot and more hot. Good golly Miss Molly. You show like to party. Amazing storyline. Great way to start off the love story with suspicious and intense drama from the very beginning. The mystery and the drama played with my mind. I’m a big mystery and who did it fan. Let me tell you, this book let me have my cake and I so ate it too. Actually, I had a hostess cupcake on the side, but that’s beside the point. This book was written like no erotic book that I have ever read and I must say, THANK YOU Mrs. Charlotte Byrd. You really pushed your imagination level with the writing format of this book. The plot is so amazing. Who would have thought to write an erotic suspense novel like this!? My emotional levels where going this way and that way. Then I was like, what the heck are they thinking!? Later in the book my questions are answered, followed with a comment of, “that makes sense”. There are so many explosive scenarios going on within the book that yes, I did stay up all night to finish this book and I am not ashamed to admit. You can bet that I will be reading the next book in this series. Now let’s discuss are hot and sexy couple. Who knew key lime pie could be so sexy. Hot dang! I can’t look at key lime pie the same way ever again. Enough of that now. I’m getting all hot and bothered. But let me just say this, yes Tyler I will stand up for you blindfold. Yes undress me. Yes, I will spread my legs for you as you pull my kinky red lace panties down. Oh... what’s that your do... . I feel something cold. Oh... oh God yes do not stop. I mean dang. Four play doesn’t get better than that! Tyler and Isabelle. Clearly these two from the beginning reveal to their readers that they have some serious issues and possibly some PTS issues to overcome. Tyler comes on scene by breaking into Isabelle’s life. On his heels is a whole lot of trouble and life threatening situations. Isabella, who lives quietly in her solitude world while dealing with her emotional issues is thrown off by Tyler. Get this, Isabella doesn’t recognize her longtime school mate. As you read more in the book the two reveal who they are. They reminisce about old times and troubled past. Somewhere in the mist of this the two sees the attraction and succumb to the sexual drive that crashes them together. Their passionate, erotic and overheated tryst exposes something that has been there for a very long time. This convinces Tyler and Isabella that they can’t live without the other. They must escape under the watchful eyes of a nosy neighbor and a suspicious cop staked out at the end of the neighborhood street. How will Isabella and Tyler pull off this life threatening escape? I recommend this book with two snaps and a be careful of who you open up your door to. Until next time my fellow readers... read on! I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
Before you start this series, DON’T! I wish I could give this series negative stars. I wish I could unread this garbage.
I had to wait a while to write this review so it wasn’t just me fuming, so some of the details are a little fuzzy.
***SPOILERS AHEAD***
So first of all, this author promotes herself in her writing. Byrd is her own character’s favorite author and goes on and on about how indie writing works. If I wanted to read about the process, I’d research it. The whole thing just took time away from the story.
Secondly, it moves too fast. It’s more like reading a history book than a novel that grabs your attention. I thought the speed would make it an easy read and I couldn’t finish it soon enough, but I didn’t finish it at all it was so bad.
Thirdly, Isabelle, the main character, starts off with a “best friend” who is one of the only people she can count on. How the heck does this character not mention her “best friend” for at least an entire book? Did you forget about her? Did Byrd forget she created a whole ass character then remembered and threw the friend back into the story??
My final straw, INCEST. I kid you not, Isabelle finds out her “brother” isn’t her blood brother. Said “brother” has known this fact for 10 years and fell in love with Isabelle. Now Isabelle is wondering if she’s also in love with her not-blood-brother. WHAT?! Sis, you’ve thought this dude was your brother 2 weeks ago and now you think you’re in love with him? Gross.
To sum it up, save yourself the time and energy and find something else to read. ANYTHING else has to be better than this.

Exciting, Interesting Premise... The Perfect Stranger
I started reading this book 📖📚 because I am a Charlotte Byrd fan. This is the story of an unexpected person who use to be her classmate in Middle School in this town in Pennsylvania. Tyler came from a family where there was an abusive father in the household. Everyone thought he was such a put together young man but every two weeks out of the month when their father was at home, the whole family lived in fear of his mental and physical abuse. While Tyler lived in this mansion with abuse going on, Isabelle lived on the outskirts of town in the not so great section of town. She was picked on in school because of being poor and Tyler stood up for her. They were best friends back in Middle School and then she moved away. He remembers that Isabelle had moved back to where they use to live and so when he broke out of prison for a crime he said he did not commit he ends up on her doorstep. If you don't like cliffhangers you might not like reading this 📚📖 book, but I am here to tell you that Charlotte Byrd is an excellent writer and you would enjoy reading her books. Good read.
This is book one in a new series and it is Isabelle and Tyler's story. Isabelle opens the front door to her house and nothing will ever be then same again. Tyler has been accused of a murder that he didn't commit and now he needs to lay low and prove his innocence, he is also injured and needs to recover and heal and Isabelle is the only person that can help him even though he doesn't want to involve her. Isabelle and Tyler were best friends min middle school and now she needs to know what happened and how she can help but will she believe Tyler when he tells her what has happened. Omg what an amazing start to this new series by Charlotte Byrd who is an amazing author and writer. I definitely recommend you read this book and you will not be disappointed as it is a real page turner and you have to keep reading to see what will happen next and I can't wait to read the next in the series. I Voluntarily Reviewed an ARC Copy of this book.
Book 1 of the Perfect Strangers series. needs to be read in order. check triggers!
Isabelle is dealing with her personal struggles with anxiety and fears. At home one night she hears a noise at her door. A body comes rushing in and the next thing she knows, she has a knife at her throat and is being blindfolded. But something about the person is familiar.
Tyler escaped from prison for a crime he claims he didn't commit. On the run, he finds himself at the front door of a childhood friend. He does the unthinkable and takes her hostage. He tells himself it'll only be for one night, just to heal but his plan doesn't go according to plan.
I listened to this on audio. The story was captivating and had me hooked from the beginning. It was quick paced and kept me intrigued. The tension between Tyler and Isabelle was felt. Their love from childhood creeped into their adulthood. When two people are meant to be, nothing can keep them apart!
It looks like there are several books in this series. I won't be reading any more. I didn't enjoy the simplistic writing style, it wasn't believable and all-in-all I was left a little flat.
Isabelle - I could definitely relate to. She prefers to be alone and wear her clothes for days. No one to impress and not one for social media one would wonder how she ended up the victim of a home invasion.
And of all the people for it to be it ends up being her crush from school, Tyler.
Tyler is on the run and finds himself the one place he hopes to feel safe. He's adamant that he's innocent and brings our shy bookworm into his mix. Now there are questions that remain and that hope that he's telling the truth because their past crushes are taking on a much deeper adult issue if it's all a lie.
This is the start to yet another epic adventure. I can't wait to see how this goes because let's be honest, Charlotte won't make it easy for them and will rip out our hearts and emotions along with them. I received an ARC for an honest and voluntarily review.
4.5 stars This is the first book in a new series from the author and it is one interesting read. Once again Ms. Byrd will have readers salivating as they get to know Tyler and Isabelle. Tyler is a millionaire who was falsely accused and sent to prison. Able to escape, he is now on the run and seeking the help of his bestie. Isabelle is a woman with a plethora of things that worry her and is pushed to her edge when an undisclosed man shows up at her door and proceeds to drag her into her bedroom. When she finally realizes what is going on, will she or won’t she agree to help this man? This is a second chance at love story with passion. It highlights the chemistry between the two characters and whets the appetite to see where their journey will lead them. By the end, readers will be chomping at the bit for more. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
I am honestly really sad writing this review because the blurb had me so excited for this story.
The plot is very interesting however I personally found a lot of the elements to be a little too far fetched which meant that I wasn't pulled into the book as much as I like to be. Having said that, the author did a great job of writing a full length novel with basically two characters.
The characters are well developed with a rich backstory that brings some realness to how they act and react but for some reason I wasn't able to connect with them. I just wish that some of their more relatable qualities should have been explored more.
All in all, I found the book a little disappointing but I think a lot of the negatives highlighted are more of a reflection on my personal preferences and not the quality of writing so I would highly recommend having a read and making up your own mind.
are you looking for a free book? this is FREE right the moment. check it out. a series to dive (jimp) right into. enjoy!! mystery romance. organized crime. we have been watching ... "Criminal Minds" great show. i think that style of show is so appealing. mixed reviews on Amazon ...but i have found that they don't allow honest reviews ...considering they DON'T Allow me to review anything at all ...if you can hack it get out of the kitchen. so to speak. so they don't respect folks who give honest truthful reviews. i respect people who can critique items truth and give multiple reasons why they like or don't like. giving just a star or 5 stars is not helpful. as much info as you can is appreciated it my books. now please i don't mean that they need to rip an author or some1 to shreds but be kind of honest. always the best policy.
When I started the book, I didn’t realize that it’s a six book series. The story was a little too slow and wordy. Luckily the unexpected twist happened right where I was going to dnf the book every time to keep me going. I put the audiobook on as background while I craft and I was not excited to listen to it.
Rock Engle and Helen Wick’s performance were great.
The first installment of the new series The Perfect Stranger has it all - Suspense, Chemistry, Intrigue, Loyalty, Twists and Turns. Isabelle and Tyler have a history; however, Tyler is in trouble and has a funny way of showing up at Isabelle's for help. Once Isabelle realizes who has forced his way into her home, she wants to help him. Nothing like going on the run with your childhood best friend. Charlotte Byrd does a great job of keeping you on the edge of your seat and not want to put down your book/e-reader until you finish. However, she is also great with cliffhangers and leave you anticipating the next installment. The Perfect Stranger has started as another hit for Charlotte and I can't wait for the next installment. Please don't keep me hanging for long Charlotte!!
The suspense that this story bring is amazing. Tyler a convicted murderer escapes and returns to the town he grow up in. He specifically takes the chance to go to the home of Isabelle, a girl he made friends with in the six grade. Isabelle at first did not know about Tyler’s crime until Tyler explains the situation. Tyler was Isabelle’s first crush and she would do anything to help him. Things become crazy when the police surround the neighborhood and start searching for Tyler. Isabelle comes up with a plan to help Tyler, but her plans don’t go the way she wants. The anticipation of waiting for the next book will be painful, for the suspense of wanting to know what happens next. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC for my honest review.
