Bartered into the hands of an alpha, there was never a chance of escape.

No woman willingly travels to the Boundarylands.

It's where they are—the Alphas.

They keep to themselves in the wilderness, and beta civilization knows to keep its distance. Especially beta women…for fear they may not be a beta after all.

Unfortunately, Phoebe never had a choice, not when the family business is smuggling black market goods to the alphas who live deep within the borders. She knows enough to keep her distance, but when a heated deal goes wrong, Phoebe finds herself offered up as a sacrifice—her freedom for her family's lives.

Now, she's trapped with a creature who views her as nothing more than another possession…so why does his feral nature call to her in ways she's powerless to control?

Welcome to the Boundarylands. A place where the only way to know your true nature is to feel the touch of an Alpha. Omegas may be rare, but every woman knows their fates are hellish—held captive, broken, mated, knotted, and bred.

Nueva tierra, nuevos alfas y... Sigo enganchada!

Ooooh I like that we're in a new territory, new characters, and no other omegas yet. A fresh start sorta but with a little intrigue...Who is sabotaging the gas? I liked Roman and Phoebe but I wish these were just a little bit longer so we can see more of the relationship. I think this is reason for some of the lower ratings on these books.

Goodbye Lowlands, hello Midlands!

So far in the series, we've been with the Lowlands Alphas, but this time we're in the Midlands. :D Roman's book is one of my favourites. As much as I like a strong-minded omega, sometimes I simply want one that is actually happy to come to terms with her circumstances and is not so stubborn for the hell of it. Phoebe is def strong, but she's also happy to be with Roman and their book was sweet and fluffy.

The stories in this series are getting better and better. I really enjoyed how Phoebe and Roman kinda got to know each other before he ever touched her. Her pragmatism was fun to watch.

The fact that they were both attracted to each other and subtlety watching one another was funny too. Once they touched fireworks exploded as Phoebe's Omega nature was revealed.

I also enjoyed watching both their emotions grow and change. Roman's fear and vulnerability was refreshing to read about.

The heat level was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥💥💥💥💥. Definitely will co tinue to read this series.

Linking book

This book takes place in the midlands and seems to me a connecting book to go from the alphas located around Evander's bar to the lowland alphas.
Roman is trying to get fuel brought into the Boundarylands. All of the legitimate ways won't do it for some reason so he has to settle on the black market.
Whitfields are a family of swindlers, thieves and con men. Phoebe is the only smart and honest one of the crew.
Since her father tried to scam Roman out of gas and money she is now his hostage until he gets what they need to make it through the winter.
Things between these two are a little bit rough at times. Then they accidentally touch and things become even worse.

Another great addition to the series! This booked kicked off the transfer to the north. Roman lives in the midlands. I liked this story of Roman and Phoebe because it felt more isolated and emotional than the previous stories. There are less neighbors in the midlands and Roman and Phoebe are forced to spend more time together. Another favorite of the series.

This one felt like it took forever to get through. I just didn’t love this one compared to the others! It’s cute and all but slow!

A QUICKIE OMEGAVERSE READ. FRANKLY, I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS SERIES EVER SINCE THE FIRST BOOK WAS PUBLISHED AND I'LL ADMIT SOME WERE YES, SOME WERE SO-SO FOR ME. THIS ONE WAS QUITE AVERAGE, NOT THE AUTHOR'S BEST BUT STILL ENJOYABLE IF YOU'RE A FAN.

ROMAN is another Alpha who lives out of his way from the other Alphas we have met prior to this installation. Roman himself was just an average character to me, he didn't sweep me off my feet, he didn't scream special or had any baggage from his past. Of all the characters I've met, I think Roman's the one who just fades into the background. Sadly. Yet, he still retains the usual characteristics one expects from Callie Rhodes's boundaryland hero. To be frank, let's just face it, I read this purely for the smut and I'm not afraid to admit it. If you want a comprehensive plot with well drawn MCs, then you'll be disappointed.

PHOEBE is a nice, beautiful girl who got roped into her scheming, thieving and not so smart Father and Brother who work as smuggles and well...this time around they're trying to con a particular alpha with precious gas. Her family isn't the best one but they are all she has left, and after her mother's death, she feels responsible to watch our for their backs. Phoebe's kind of boring at first, like I don't know what to expect of her. Her character wasn't solid enough to stand out except for her corkscrew red curls. LOL. It took awhile for her Omega instincts to awaken, but the author doesn't disappoint with the sexual chemistry ALTHOUGH it was a little less graphic than some of her previous books.

OVERALL this was just pure smut. My favourite stories of this series is still Ty and Maddox...perhaps because they had a little something more that I personally prefer, and there's that push & pull between the characters that makes me excited like a little girl. Here, there was heat and it read like a Beauty and the Beast story, similar to Disney's except for the sex part. I'm really looking forward to the next book, and also Cade's story which I have yet to get my hands upon.

Phoebe and Roman

Roman’s been happily alone for 12 years. Trying to help his alpha brothers, he agrees to pay the Whitman men for 5K gallons of gas. He knows the Whitmans aren’t on the up and up, but it didn’t occur to him that they were dumb enough to try to short him. We find out just how dumb the Whitman family is in this book. The only person in this family with brains is Phoebe, who sacrifices herself to save her dimwitted father and brother.

Once Phoebe moves in, Roman realizes that while he thought he’d been happy, he’d actually been lonely and needed a woman in his life. They tiptoe around each other until life happens and they touch each other. The story goes on from there as the Omega changes race through Phoebe.

The Whitman men leave a lot to be desired in the brains department, but they love Phoebe. There’s definitely a fair amount of push and pull for Phoebe between Roman and her family, and when push comes to shove, she and Roman find themselves in precarious positions that put their mating in jeopardy.

I enjoyed this book. It didn’t follow the pattern the last several books have followed of the woman going into the boundarylands and some bad guy or other following her in and trying to kill her or her alpha. This was a nice change of pace.

While I’m very happy at not having to wait more than 4-6 weeks in between books, I’d happily wait another week or so for a book that’s actually had decent proofreading. I have no issue with the quality of the writing or story, but when some of the wording gets to the point that it drops me from the story because the wording is so off that I have to figure out what is meant by what’s on the page, it’s frustrating. In this book, it happened more often than I found reasonable. It is what kept me from rating this book 5 stars.

This is the favorite series I’m reading right now. You can choose to read this individually or in order. With Roman not being from the Lowlands, there was no group of familiar alphas or omegas in this book, so if you start here, it will not be an issue.

Roman – The Boundarylands Book 9 – Callie Rhodes

What good is wealth to an Alpha when all he requires is solitude?

Phoebe’s family background is less than stellar. They are definitely from the wrong side of the tracks and after the death of her mother when she was younger, Phoebe has been the primary female caretaker looking out for her sketchy dad and brother.

Roman is an Alpha who has come from great wealth in the Beta world. He now lives sparsely in the mid-Boundarylands.

After an interruption of the gas supply to the Boundarylands, Roman has used some of his wealth (normally untouched) to secure a gas shipment through the black market. This is supplied by Phoebe’s dad and brother who have decided that a bigger payday from a short shipment of gas means they must be in and out of the Boundarylands quickly. They bring Phoebe along as they plan a quick escape across the border once the Alpha making the purchase discovers the deception and they have to flee.

Of course, even the best laid plans never work on an Alpha. Roman decides to keep Phoebe as a hostage until her dad and brother make up the shortfall in the delivery and then some.

Roman’s determination to remain apart from people is blown out of the water when he realises his growing attraction to Phoebe as his Omega. Once they touch and the fireworks happen, the rest as they say, is history.

Steamy sex scenes make this an 18+ read. Four stars.

Almost a 5 Star - Please read the full review to see why

I love this whole Boundarylands series. It’s an unexpected treat each time the next new book (which I ALWAYS pre-order) shows up in my library.

This was from a little different angle, because it’s located in a different area of the Boundarylands without the familiar cast of characters or community as before. Roman, has more resources than the other Alphas we’ve met. His choice to be completely isolated for more than a decade isn’t quite delved into as much as I hoped it would be. Also, there were only vague references to his family & past, was he still in contact with them or not? The letter where Phoebe learned his name hinted that he was, but it wasn’t mentioned again.

The reason this isn’t a 5 Star? What about the money? The fuel was never paid for & it was clearly worth a ton, so where on earth did Phoebe’s family get it since they were broke & had stolen it to begin with. So how did they get 5x more without being paid the first time? It just kept niggling in the back of my mind, which distracted from the book too much. It’s still unresolved, so it left me hanging.

Roman

This is the first Boundarylands book I gave only 4 stars. Yes it was Omegaverse but the most boring of the 9 books. Not only do we not get to interact with the established Lowland Alphas and Omegas but as a Midlander, Roman was all Alpha+ A-Hole. Yes he changed when he turned Alpha, this is where the story strayed a little, they both JUST knew before physically touching their demographics. But with the only other characters, Phoebes father and brother, a pack of Wolves and some chickens, until the end of the story, yeah, boring. Please let Gray be more interactive with the other Alpha and Omega midland couple.

BETA'S GONE CRAZY

Oh yeah; there are just some beta's that don't have the sense god gave a turnip, but sometimes those same deta's have surprisingly bright female family members. Phoebe is one such Beta that because of the stupidity of her male family members finds herself a piece of collateral in their shady business deal gone bad. Roman just wants fuel for the Alpha population to survive the winter. He never intended to end up with the Omega he didn't know he wanted. Dumb and Dumber, her Dad & Brother aren't prepared to just walk away. All Pheobe wants is to be able to love the special men in her life. Even if their misguided. DanaLynn

So far, 8 blondes, 2 redheads and a pink haired girl. This omega is the second redhead. You know Callie, if you go to Europe one day, you might be shocked to find brunettes in every corner. And you know that America is certainly not all blonde and redheaded considering that natural blondes make less than 4% of the population in America and there is only 1% of natural redheads in America. Apparently, in Callie Rhodes' imagination, only redheads and blondes meet the requirement of being an omega. And they all live in a setting that resembles the current south, in homesteads with acres; I know because I have property in the south, a big estate with acres of land.

Roman Reigns

A new territory and a rich alpha who has no need for that money. Swoon worthy just out the gate. A strong heroine who is always taking care of others first? Check. Roman tried so hard to not touch Phoebe and I think that made me want it to happen even more. 🤣 Phoebe lost her mom then had to take over and start caring for her dad and brother even though they are both adults themselves. I really enjoyed seeing a different part of the alpha territory and can’t wait for more coming October 22nd!

A good read.

Probably my fav of the series so far. I liked the relationship btwn the hero and heroine. Even though the hero was gruff and imperfect, he and the heroine got to know each other before anything further happened, which was nice. The heroine started off as a bit of a doormat for her family so it was good to see her find her backbone. The storyline was good except the whole fuel issue is still left open. What’s up with that? Maybe to be explained in the next book I guess.

HEA
Standalone but also series, this one doesn't really feature previous characters so you could read it without the ones before it. You might not pickup on all the rules of this Omegaverse, but you don't really need them for this story.
She offers herself a collateral after her dad and brother tried to rip off an Alpha. He doesn't want a hostage but he needs the delivery. They go out of their way not to touch until her life is in danger, then it's too late. And everything seems to happen all at the same time.

Roman (rich loner) Phoebe (Forced people pleaser because of family)

steam 1/5=Did not enjoy this dynamic (in my opinion their first time didn't feel 100% consensual obviously the FMC was into it but that was physically-emotionally she was upset with the MC and I really wonder if she wasn't influenced by her heat whether she would have chosen not to be intimate with the MC)

story 2/5- While I think the plot is solid. (the MC is scammed out of a deal and takes daughter hostage) again I think the dynamic between the characters were so lack luster .

Roman

I have readed all of the other books in this series. They are not like the other Omega book. The stories of these books are so much more. They are wonderful The characters are awesome and brave. They take place in a world were there are a great class difference . Where Omegas only lean what they are by a touch. I couldn't put these books down and read one after another offer not being able to quit reading till well past midnight.

And Callie Rhodes does it again

I liked this for many reasons but mainly because no blood was shed. I mean I love the other ones too when the Alphas ripped bodies in half. But this one was calmer and sometimes a series needs that too. I also like that she is extending the series to the other Boundarylands. I'm excited everything Callie introduces a new Alpha! Can't wait for the next one.....Gray show me what you HOT!

I liked Roman and Phoebe's story. Phoebe was a great heroine -- very strong, practical, and independent. Roman was a quiet, reclusive, brooding alpha. With not many familiar faces, but a couple new ones, the story takes place mostly in the midlands and a little in the uplands. While the people and places may have changed, the same basic formula remains. However, I don't think the fire was quite as hot here as in previous books.

Just okay

The book had a slow start & was a little stagnant at first and then after they touched the story got more interesting. I also would've loved to see Phoebe interact with the other omegas in the Boundarylands at some point, the way they have in the other books. And I would've maybe liked if there was an epilogue of some sort showing what the relationship between Roman, Phoebe, & the Whitfields looked like in the future, maybe with the Whitfields even visiting Phoebe.

Damnit, I know I said in the previous book that I would stop reading this series. But then I saw that this book takes place somewhere else in the Boundarylands, with new people. So I thought, why not. It's a quick read...

Fuck was I wrong. This dragged. I regret reading this. Definitely not reading anymore or this series. As I also said in Cade, if you read one book, you've pretty much read them all.

More of how the Boundarylands work

What I liked best about this installment in the series was getting more information about the connections between the different regions of the Boundarylands, as well as how they trade with the beta world. I also liked seeing a heroine who didn’t have quite the same fears about becoming an omega as previous heroines did. Can’t wait to read the next book!

A must read series!

Roman hired the Whitefields to bring him gas, but they short him a lot. He keeps Phoebe until they bring back more gas. They try to stay out of each other's way, but Roman accidentally awakens her Omega nature. They still have to learn to be together, but there is an HEA.

The Alpha and the Omega...

***sigh*** I love strong alpha men and Roman does not disappoint! This was my first book by Callie Rhodes, but it certainly won't be my last! For me it was a different type of alpha story, and I liked it! I am most definitely interested in reading Grays story!

I really liked this installment in the Boundarylands series. I loved Roman and the progression of his relationship with Phoebe was great. I also really enjoyed that we’ve moved to a new area of the Boundarylands. I love the other Alphas and their area don’t get me wrong, but it felt super refreshing to be somewhere new. I’m so excited to see where this story will go next!

Good read.

Oh those Whitfield boys stirring up trouble. Hope they make an appearance in future books. Was a little disappointed that all the characters from the first book weren’t in this one except for a one liner at the end. Hoping she ties the uplanders and the lowlanders together so I can see more of the previous characters.

Gotta love family

Sometimes family holds ya back, but in the end, they only want what’s best for you. Phoebe finally realized she had to let her father and brother survive on their own and they finally realized she was okay to make her own decisions. I’m glad Roman and Phoebe found each other.
