He's there to support his teammate and enjoy a much needed vacation. She's the one making sure everything goes perfectly. They're worlds should never have collided, but life rarely goes according to plan.

When Jake Jones landed in Mexico, he had no idea what was in store for him. All he wanted was to lay on the beach sipping drinks and see his friends get married. Instead, he met a spitfire that doesn't understand the word relax.

Dani Glisten is in charge of the wedding that could make or break her entire career. She's spent weeks planning, double checking the orders and vendors, and booking backups for the backups. Absolutely nothing will be missed or distract her from pulling it off, especially not some ridiculously gorgeous man that will only be around for the week.

Can these opposites help each other find balance long enough for them to see they're perfect for each other?

Brittney has been an avid reader since she can remember. Her parents' form of punishment for her growing up was taking away her books and making her go outside to play. She was born and raised in Southern California, with a brief hiatus in Arizona. She loves the beach, exercising, sleeping in, and cookies. She is an obsessive dog lover, although her affection currently has no outlet. Something that she is planning on remedying soon. She and her husband currently reside in the Rocky Mountains exploring and hiking as much as possible.

Jake is going, to his first outing with his teammates, and Pride since, his mom's passing. But, he can't seem, to get himself out of, the car. If it weren't for, Derek tapping on his window, and, Amelia's cheery greeting he might not, have gone in. Everyone greeted him, but, it was all of them staring, that creeps him out. Part of why he didn't want to come, he didn't want to be reminded of, his mom’s passing.

But, leave it to, Hartman their team captain, to put the word out, to let him be, in regards, to his mom. He was able to find out about all the pairings, engagements, and future weddings. The topic switched to Noah and Colby’s wedding in Mexico. They all said he was going, right?! He hedged his decision until, Noah’s hand rests on his shoulder, saying he has to. They even have, a bachelor suite with three rooms so, one is available for him. It's when Noah pleads for him, to be there, that he folds. And say, yes.

Dani and her assistant, Maggie are going over all the plans for Noah and Colby’s wedding, when she realizes they are high-priority clients, and that Noah is a member of the Utah Fury Hockey team. He will be leaving soon to join the new Seattle team. All eyes and, the press will be on them so, everything must go according, to plan. Dani has no clue a dark cloud is following her. Her ultimate dream is to one day open her own Bridal and Event Planning business.

On her first day, she meets with the head of, the Fury Pride, Chloe, and, along with the bride, Colby, and a few others. Once things are shored up, and they felt comfortable, there is no need for them, to interact that much. Except, Jake had shown some interest, and one thing that, ‘the Pride’ is good at is, smelling new blood. They like, Dani’s work ethic, and, that Jake is taken by her. Because for five years, they saw him suffer, with just one special woman in his life, his mom.

But, as Dani is getting closer to, Jake she has no clue that, a dark cloud has turned into a powerful evil thundercloud. It is ready, to take her out. She doesn’t need, to worry though, she has become one of, the Fury Pride. The minute they saw the interest in, Jake’s eyes. If you hurt her, you hurt them all, and the team, too. This is a great story of a man living his life, after existing in one. He wouldn’t have changed a thing, it was his mom. But, the grieving process is made easier, and, if not faster with the team, and, the Pride.

Hopefully not the last in this fun series

Is this the end? The last book of the series? I’ve loved this series and hate to think of it being over. Each book is so different. I liked this one a lot. It had the sense of sweet new beginnings even though it felt like an end as well. I got even more of a full of family feel in this one with all the Fury and their significant others. If you haven’t read others in this series there will be a lot of names thrown put there but you wouldn’t feel lost if you start here.
Thanks to the author for this great hockey series!

Loss Is Hard

Losing a loved one or one's job is so hard. Once again, the Pride comes through for anyone they adopt. The wives and girlfriends of the Fury team are formidable, but they can be trusted to pull all miraculous things for those they love. Chloe never ceases to amaze me. I just love all the characters in this book and the series! Jake and Dani fit right in with the others. I love the backstories, the predicaments, and the romance in all of these stories, including this one. I have yet to be disappointed in any of the happy endings.

One door closes one door opens

This is what happens in life, Jake went on vacation to a team members wedding after the loss of his mother who he had been caregiver to for 6 years. He met Dani the wedding planner and she lost her job, the ends of each of their chapters only to start a new one for each. I loved the story.

Eh

It was okay. It was simple, good characters but I didn’t feel like there was really a lot of depth. Characters were repetitive in their thoughts, things moved quickly. It didn’t really feel like anything built up. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I liked this story for the most part, but it felt like we only got to know the female lead on the surface and not at a deeper level. Too much time was spent on the supporting core women.
