I like to ride. Motorcycles, horses, and women. I’m only loyal to my horse and my club. Until she shows up, all grown up and needing my help.
She was just a kid the last time I saw her, always underfoot at the stables where I kept my horse. Now it’s years later, and she’s using her newfound curves to tempt me to cross a line. Lord help us both if I ever do.
She’s too young and innocent for a guy like me, but it doesn’t matter. I can’t seem to stay away. For the first time in my life, I want something more than a one-night stand. I know I have to wait to claim her, but for how long?
Once I make her mine, all bets are off. I won’t let her slip through my fingers. I’ll fight for her and to save the stables that she loves. I will stand by her, come hell or high water.
Even if I lose my damned mind in the process.
Claimed By The Devil is book 8 in the Devil’s Riders series. It can be read as a standalone. As always, my books have no cheating and a guaranteed HEA!
Joanna Blake loves good old fashioned romance, men who open doors and work with their hands. Hot Blooded Heroes is a series of sizzling stories about True Blue American men and the women who love them. She's thrilled to be collaborating with Pincushion Press on her new series! Come along for the ride! XoX, Joanna *********
Not bad but not much happens. No club business main focus is H and h.
Hero likes (younger) heroine but instead of asking her how she would feel he invites her to a BBQ where he has the other women he knows try to find out if she likes him. What is he? 12? Man up!! That whole scene at the BBQ was awkward.
It has been a while since I had read this series. I totally love the fact that Joanna Blake has graced us with another outstanding story within this series. It made me laugh and at times I wanted to throw my e-reader but I made it through within a couple of hours and I was SAD to see this story end. I did find that at the beginning Nick had a disposition that I found almost unbearable, but I kept reading and I think Miss Blake did an outstanding job at explaining the ins and outs of him. Melissa was just the cherry on top of the proverbial cake. This can be read as a standalone BUT it would BEHOOVE the reader to read this series to get the whole picture of this incredibly amazing MC. The chemistry between these two is at one point naïve but grows and matures into something you will find that you want more of. Another titillating story that will grab you and hold on because this ride is one you will be looking forward to even if you do not realize it!

This book follows Melissa who has always had a crush on Nick since she was a teenager, but of course she was too young for a guy like him. Years later Melissa is back home taking care of her sick mother and running their horse farm when Nick returns to realize the sweet girl he one knew is all grown up and he doesn't know how to handle his emotions. Things between these two seem to progress, but Nick still isn't sure if he should pursue her or let her go. The story follows them and shows us how the club comes together and is a family even if not blood. I liked the writing style because it was unique, it would switch between main characters so we could see both sides but it also would let us into some of the club members pov. This switch was fun to read because it still focused on the main characters but allowed us outsider views with a few personal add ins.
All of Melissa’s teenage dreams featured Nick in a starring role even if he never really saw her at the ranch where his horse was stabled. She has now finished college and returned home however she is struggling under the weight of her ill mother and trying to keep the ranch viable.
Nick is a member of the Devil Riders MC and feels very seasoned compared to Melissa. He now realizes that now only is she all grown up but she inspires feelings in him that he has never felt before. He is determined to show her that not only do they belong together but that a burden shared is a burden lessened.
Melissa is so much stronger than even she realizes and there is nothing that Nick won’t do for her. As a bonus we get to catch up with the other characters we know and love.
This is the 8th book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone. Nick is only loyal to his horse and his MC. However, when he sees Melissa all grown up, he knows that he wants a more than just a wild night with her. He feels that she is too innocent and sweet for the likes of him, can she help to change his mind? Fast-paced fun and sweet MC read with great characters, steamy chemistry and an entertaining MC read. I liked it.
I really enjoyed Melissa and Nick's story. They both were marvelous characters. I just can't help myself but be blown away every time when a headstrong alpha hero falls fast and deep in love with a worthy heroine. I liked the brotherly connection between the guys in the MC and the closeness of their wives too. The drama level was just right, nothing overdone. It was great to have the POVs of previous characters in some of the chapters, those helped further the story even more seamlessly. The writing was good, the story flowed perfectly, I enjoyed reading it.
Melissa has been in lust with him since she first saw him as a young girl. And now, he has feelings for her as well. In fact, he knows she is the one for him. With the help of his brother’s women, Melissa learns to seduce him to bend to her will. I thought this was a sweet story. Not really focused on the MC story with the exception of brotherhood and sisterhood though.
"Received an ARC from the author for my honest review. "
Oh my goodness. Yet another excellent read by Joanna. Nick and Melissa knew each other four years ago. Now she's back home from college. It's only now that Nick really start to notice Melissa, she was too young for him four years before. Nick has a heart of gold and is there for her. Melissa herself is a wonderful woman. These two were made for each other. He's so gentle and caring towards her. There are sad moments but also happy, loving and caring moments throughout the book.
I don't want to give away spoilers so this is where I'm going to stop.
Well done Joanna Blake with yet another wonderful book.
The first few books in this series were relatively good though somewhat juvenile. This book takes that to a whole new level - are these guys in this motorcycle club adolescences? Nick meeting the girls beside the house to find out if "Melissa likes him" is just plain absurd - the guy needs to grow a pair as do all the guys in this mc. And supposedly badass bikers should never use words like cute, adorable, and amazing. Also, Melissa's mom having cancer - just plain depressing. Did not enjoy this book at all.
I will start this review by saying that i have been a fan of joanna's for a long time and have loved reading her books, yet out of all the books i have read none of them have effected me on a personal level like this one did due to what the heroine melissa is going through with her mom.
I don't think i could accurately put into words how much i loved this book, more often than not when you read a MC romance book there is nearly always drama with a rival club, but with joanna's devils riders series and even the untouchables series the only time you get that is when it is an important and necessary part of the story , claimed by the devil is not one of those books as this books focus is more on the relationship between nick and melissa and what melissa and her mom are going through. Melissa has always had a crush on nick and has come back home to look after her mom after being away for 2 yrs,it is not till nick goes to visit his horse hendricks who is being kept on melissa's farm that he see's the woman she has become and his instant attraction scares him as he thinks she will not like him the way he likes her, but he need not worry because he has his brothers there to help him and as the saying goes behind every good man there is a great woman, well he has a whole squad of great women ( all of whom take to melissa right away and think of her as one of them) ready to help him and with a little bit of help along the way nick finds out that not only does melissa not think he is a dirty old man be she likes him just as much as he had hoped for, but of course there needs to be a tiny bit of drama in every romance otherwise it would be to sugary and sweet and that never makes for a great MC romance, the drama here is not physical it is emotional and it happens 3 times, once with melissa's mum , then when melissa's new band of sisters decide to help her with a makeover designed to make nick take his foot of the brake and get his motor in gear pronto, the last one is to do with janet but we will have to wait to see how things turn out with her. You also get the occasional chapters from other members of the club and their women and anyone who has read the other books in the series will laugh as much as i did when u read luck get up to his usual tricks when he pays a lil visit to nick and melissa,
All in all this was an amazing book and i loved reading this but i did need tissues.
Will Nick ever see Melissa as more than just a kid?
Claimed by the Devil is the eighth book in the Devils Riders series. This book can stand alone, but there’s constant references to previous couples. Melissa is home, taking care of her family ranch and her sick mother when the object of her teenage crush walks into the barn. Nick has always captivated her, but will he ever see her as more than just a kid? Will she trust the depths of their connection?
I really enjoyed reading this book! There’s so much emotion in these pages and I love all of the connection that you can find with the brotherhood of the club, between the wives, and of course, between Melissa and Nick! I absolutely love that both characters have similar personalities, preferring horses and family, being a little more quiet, and going through similar things in their lives. Nick was completely adorable in the beginning of the book, feeling like a dirty old man, but I loved how he stepped up immediately and offered support, comfort, and love when needed. Melissa had a bit of growing up to do in these pages, but I enjoyed the sweetness of her character and how well she fit with Nick. Their connection was instantaneous, both sweet and steamy, and even though this book hit emotional heartstrings, I enjoyed their chemistry, too! One thing that I love about this book and series is how the chapters aren’t only from Melissa and Nick’s point of views, but also from other characters. We get to see tiny glimpses into their lives and emotions, too! This book had me at the edge of my seat, flipping pages, and cheering for this protective and rough teddy bear as he claims the woman he loves!
Claimed by the Devil is the 8th book in her Devil Riders series and it does not disappoint. You get everything that you expect from the Devil Riders. Our heroine is dealing with some intense life issues and just when she thinks nothing can be good again, Nick her school girl crush, decides to notice her. This couple goes through a lot of ups and downs. Since Nick has known Melissa since she was a child he has to deal with his own discomfort at his attraction to Melissa. Once these two figures out that this is not a flash and burn out type attraction, things begin to move in the right direction. You really like these characters and find yourself cheering for them as they work towards their HEA.
Along the way during this story, we catch up with previous couples. The prevailing theme in these books is that the Devil Riders are more than friends, they are family. We get to catch up with the couples from the previous books as they help our new couple through the road blocks life can sometimes place in our path on our way to our happy ending.
If you love character driven stories and authors with the ability to make you care about the people in the stories they write, then you need to read this book. This book can be read as a stand-alone book, but if you haven’t read the previous books in the series, I guarantee you will want to read those books after reading Nick and Melissa’s story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Nick and Melissa's story is more of a slow burn than a bonfire. Melissa has known Nick for years, crushed on him since she knew what those were. He never saw her as anything but a kid, one who was helping take care of his beloved horse. Now its years later and Melissa is home from college, all grown up. Nick immediately takes notice and realizes that she is exactly what he had been looking for his whole life. Dating and falling in love get put on hold when the reason she came home starts to get all of her time and energy. Nick is determined to be there for her, to give her all the love and support in she so desperately needs. He also rallies his family, the Devil's Riders to help and we get to check in with all the past couples. Nick is a true sweetheart, calm and steadfast in his feelings for Melissa. Such a good guy that you can't help but love. Melissa is a hardworking, sweet woman who hasn't had many people she can depend on and trust. For Nick to love her was a dream come true. To gain his family as her own, was a gift she didn't see coming. I love this trope and I love this author. Her stories are filled with realistic characters and chemistry galore. Revisiting the Devil's Riders and their old ladies is like getting together with old friends. I loved watching this story slowly unfold and reveal all the sweet treasures inside. 5 stars for Nick and Melissa!
Nick couldn't get over how much Melissa change how grown up she looked she was no longer a child but a young woman, being a part of mc club and working in a bar in the evening took its toll sometimes but the guys were like brothers and their wife's were like sisters they were like a big family to him and he respected them all very much, but in between dealing with club nick like to go and see his horse at the stables where Melissa lived with her mum, sometimes it was hard for Melissa she was tending between the animals and her sick mum so when nick show up she was surprised and shocked she had not seen him in awhile and she still couldn't believe she was still crushing on him after all thses, years but would nick want her, she was more curvy then some woman and nick was alot older then melissa and, more experienced then her, in the end would nick and melissa get there happy ever after. This is the first book I've read in this series so after reading this one im going to invest and read the others as it got me interested in the, other characters

Sugary sweet with a heaping dose of steam! I haven't yet read the first seven books of this series, but I must say, there doesn't seem to be anything devilish about these characters. For a new reader, there isn't enough info about the club itself to form any idea of what kind of organization the Devil's Riders MC actually is. Mostly, they just seem to be a close knit group, like one big happy family.
For me, the many pov's of the other characters was a bit distracting. These glimpses into their lives and relationships make one thing very clear though - this MC is made up of strong women and very alpha males.
Nick and Melissa's story is cute, sweet, and sexy. She is shy and a bit insecure, crushing on him since she was a teen; and he is a big old softie with a dominant side, who completely falls for the grown up version of Melissa the moment he sees her again. They have great chemistry and the unfolding of their love story (including several hot love scenes) is entertaining and heartwarming. I am a fan of this author's work and I enjoyed this book a lot.

Nick is a member of the Devil Riders. His brothers are all in committed relationship and he wants that for himself. The last time he saw Melissa was when she was sixteen years old, and he is shocked to see the changes in her when he visits his beloved horse where he is boarded at the stable that Melissa’s family operates. Melissa has always had a crush on Nick and when she sees him, those feelings resurface. The attraction is instant. Melissa is going through some rough times with the illness of her mother and juggling the stable and their bills. Melissa has never had anyone care for her the way Nick does. He is loving and possessive of Melissa. This is a sweet, emotional, and beautifully written story that is filled with laughter, sorrow, and unending love. The chemistry between these two is off the charts. I loved how the Devil Riders women took Melissa under their wing and made her feel like part of their family. This is another great addition to a great series.
If a fan of MC romances then recommend all fans should follow JB. This is the 8th book in the series and makes for an enjoyable read just as enjoyable as when the series kicked off with Wanted By The Devil.
Emotionally this story reaches deep and sucks you into the lives of Nick & Melissa. Taking care of her terminally ill Mam and working to keep the family business operating he teenage crush Nick and uh oh when he really see’s her he is smitten. Early on he realises she is the one but out of respect to her does not want to rush her. However when his family put together a plan with Melissa to show him she’s all grown up he is a goner. Let the fun times begin.
Catching up with previous characters in the series learning about their lives this book will have you doubled over with laughter and grabbing for the tissues equally. Sizzling characters that make JB a hugely respected author in her field.

This is the story of Nick & Melissa. Nick is a biker, but he's saving to buy his farm back. Melissa was a teenager. He thinks she is beautiful, even though she's young. We jump to four years later. Melissa is twenty. Nick's horse, who he loves dearly, is getting old. He sees Melissa and is thrown back at how beautiful she is. She had been away at college, and is now back. She takes care of his horse when he's not there. Is she too young for him? Melissa has been in love with Nick since she first saw him. I really enjoyed this book. For being a biker, I felt the caring, gentleness, protectiveness and love for Melissa. This is a sad story for a good part of the book. The sadness can overtake you. Then, it turns to happiness. I felt every emotion throughout. Only a great writer can do that to the reader. I'm looking forward to Book 9 in this series.
Nick goes to visit his horse Hendrix and barely notices the little girl Melissa. Now Melissa, she notices him from the very first day he started boarding his horse. Years later, Melissa is back home from college and Nick definitely notices her then. She has grown up into quite a beautiful woman. So here come the women of Devil Riders to the rescue with a BBQ to get to know Melissa See she left college to take care of her mom (Meg) because she has cancer and is dying but has not told anyone because it is just her and her mom. Nick finds out but getting intel from the Untouchables. He stays with her through the entire time at the hospital then when Meg comes home with hospice. The emotions in this book are phenomenal and keeps you wanting more. I think Nick has moved up to the top next to Preacher.

This is the 8th book in this author's Devil Riders MC series and is best read as part of the series d/t the intermingling MC members and their wives with this story. It is just as hot as all the others though. Nick never thought he would find someone to settle down with. When he encounters Melissa at the horse farm where he stables his beloved horse he is stunned by the beautiful girl. Little does he realize that Melissa is the same girl he saw growing up at the stables her family owned. The same girl who had a crush on Nick for years and is now a woman. Tragedy strikes, but Melissa is not left to pick up the pieces alone. What will it take for Nick to see Melissa as a grown up? And can the club wives finally make him see what has been right in front of him all along? I definitely loved seeing Preacher make his infamous appearance at the end. Can't wait to see which Devil's Rider is the next to fall!
Claimed by the Devil, book eight in the Devil’s Riders series follows Nick Henderson and Melissa, the owner’s daughter of Honeycutt Stables, where he keeps his horse Hendrix boarded at. When Melissa’s father passes away, and her mother becomes more and more ill, Melissa comes home from college to help out around the stables. Nick only loves two things, his motorcycle and his horse, so when he goes to visit Hendrix, he is surprised to find the curvy beauty taking care of his horse, that is until she turns around and he discovers who she really is. Instant fireworks ignite between the pair, but Nick holds back since she is so much younger then him. Melissa has had a crush on Nick since she was younger, but when she starts to see him looking at her like the woman she has become, she finally gets a chance to fulfill one of her fantasies. But what happens when Nick tries to keep them as friends only? And will Nick be able to control himself around her when Melissa wants more?
Melissa has had a crush on Nick for years and when she comes home after college Nick finally notices the sexy woman she has grown up to be. It is beautiful watching their love story slowly progress and how supportive Nick is while Melissa is dealing with her mom’s hospice care. Melissa has only her mom but when she starts her relationship with Nick, the club immediately accepts her as one of their own and the old ladies are her new best friends. This is a sweet story and you get to know more about all the brothers in the MC as Nick & Melissa’s relationship progresses. You don’t hear much about the MC part at all in this book besides them riding their motorcycles & having a bar. This is book 8 in the Devil’s Riders MC series and can be read as a standalone but you will get more out of the book if you read in order.

Nick is everything a woman could want! Handsome, strong, caring, firm but gentle. Never mind the fact that’s he’s a cowboy AND a biker! Melissa had it right from the time she was a teenager because he would have been my crush too! Melissa is sweet, kind, generous and hard working. They two of them together are an absolutely perfect match. This whole book was sweet with the way Nick took care of Melissa and became her strength when she needed it most. They are each other’s perfect compliment of one another and I loved how well Melissa just fit with his family and easily became a part of it.
I loved the dynamic of this book with the way everyone was trying to hard to get Nick and Melissa together. Nicks brothers were so supportive and encouraging and the woman were sneaky and amazing with their tactics. The whole scene where the girls dressed Melissa to the 9s and then “taught her lessons” was hilarious. One could only wish to have friends like the Devils Riders and their woman.
This book was incredibly sweet, funny and emotional. Nick and Melissa's romance was in my opinion, simply perfect. Jam-packed full of heat and heart, the engaging story quickly has you wrapped up and consumed by this couple, their lives and the world they inhabit. I loved this book and I adore this on-going series. This book could be read as a standalone but why you'd want to, I simply can't imagine! If you read one you will want to read them all!! I love that the author always keeps readers connected with previous couples and characters from both this series and from The Untouchables. An MC is all about brotherhood and family and these books beautifully showcase that. This MC series is lighter and sweeter than what is typical in this genre, so if normally you are not a fan, I highly recommend you give this series a try. I'm already impatiently awaiting the next book!!
This was another great addition to The Devil Rider series; this book focuses on Nick.
This was very sweet book with very touching and heartbreaking moments. I loved how Nick approached the “situation” with Melissa since she is young and apparently he’s much older (although we are never told his age). The Meg situation was both beautiful and heartbreaking, but it really brought the whole family together to help out Melissa when she felt the most alone.
I want to know more about Janet’s situation because I loved that woman! I need to know what lies ahead for our crazy couple.
Okay minor side note this book is filled a lot of steamy time between Nick and Melissa, I’m not complaining but at times I did end up skimming it over.
I’m hoping Drake’s book is next, our playboy needs to meet his lady who will bring him down a notch ;)
Filled with humor, insane chemistry, tender emotions, and heartache, this is a wonderful story! I loved how stunned Nick was to realize that the vague woman he'd been certain would be his future, is actually someone he knows from his past! He's known Melissa forever, though he hasn't seen her in a few years - a very good thing since she's quite a bit younger than him. But now she's just old enough, and with an old soul, the years between them don't seem so vast. Melissa has loved Nick for a very very long time, and despaired of him ever seeing her as a woman. But through trials and tribulations, their love finally grows, fulfilling the love of a lifetime. This is a great story with wonderful characters! Happy Reading!!

This is book 8 in the devils riders series this s Nick and Melissa's story. Nick loves Horses, bikes and women, though he never took notice of the young Melissa helping out at the stables when shes back from college he cant not notice the stunner. Melissa had a crush on Nick for years and when he finally notices her it sparks fireworks! Though melissa's coming back is due to her mums ill health and to look after the family stables she hasnt told anyone but when Nick finds out he and his family in the MC help her through it. This book sends you on a roller coaster of emotions, I couldn't put this book down. A well written biker romance with chemistry sizzling characters you cant not fall in love with!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book If ever a story will knock your socks off emotionally, well this is it. I have never speed read in a long time but I literally couldn’t put it down. Oh ladies, Naughty Nick is just perfect . If ever a young woman like Melissa needed a man to teach her everything about life and love, well she has found him in Nick. It had me tearing up badly in some parts and then laughing my head off in the next. The one thing coming across big time is “Love and Family”. If only Nick knew that Melissa had always had a crush on him, but she was too young. Now is the time for them, now is the time for them to live and love. Brilliant story , loved it. Great plot and characters
