My mother died the night the devil strolled into my life. He found me. Saved me from her fate. He wrote me a little note explaining what he planned for me. Roses are dead. Violets are black and blue. Watch out little girl. I'm about to destroy you.
As the new girl from the south side of town going to a prestigious academy for my senior year, I never expected welcoming open arms. But the bloody nose on my first day was a surprise. And the threat. And the… well, let me just say behind the Botoxed smiles and shiny sports cars were the worst sort of people.
And there was one that brought them to their knees. One who ruled Green Hills Academy like the monarchs he descended from. Knight King hated me. Hated what I represented. Hated that I wasn’t wealthy and that I dared to enter his world.
He was used to getting his way. Everyone did what he told them. He tried to rule me, but I was a fighter.
My name’s Violet and I was anything but a shrinking flower.
Savage Devil is book 1 in a 3 book trilogy. It is not a standalone and ends in a cliffhanger. It contains themes of bullying and is not meant for readers under the age of seventeen years of age.
2.5 Stars. Well... this was interesting but I have an issue with one dimensional, obvious, over the top villains. The Mayor was just ridiculous, his wife, too. All the pieces for a savvy Gen Z high school student to get revenge are set up in the first few chapters. No way would Violet not know that she needs to set up hidden cameras, get proof and she even knew which reporter to go to with any info because the Mayor conveniently tells her which one hates him. It's not like the Mayor was subtle about his intentions once he got her in his web. Violet is nearly ruthlessly gang raped by the Mayor and two other grown men and does nothing though. NOTHING. The helpless, do nothing when attacked approach from a street smart and grade smart teenager was unbelievable and unsupportable.
So, while I am intrigued by the cliffhanger and the twists and turns, I'm annoyed that these teenagers are written to act like non techy, non social media savvy adults when they would be teenagers with tik tok on speeddial post.
High School Bully romance is normally not my jam, but this one was so hard to put down. I was intrigued by both Violet and King and I wanted to know more about them, antecipate their reactions, understand their urges, either good or bad.
I've known this author's romcom work and they are so amazing. And her angsty writing is just as wonderful and it was incredible meeting this new facet.
The story was enthralling, compelling and addicting.
Being part of a trilogy, you can expect a cliffhanger, and as much as this might be a widely unpopular opinion, I'm a sucker for it. And this cliffhanger? Wow, totally unexpected!
2 ⭐️⭐️ Stars! Bully romance, thoroughly disappointing, the bullying was overtop and almost fatal and was not even addressed, was just glossed over. Too ridiculous for me.
I will say this got me out of my small reading slump but not in a good way. It's your typical bully romance but the TW list is LONG and a lot of this is just shock for the sake of it. The pacing and dialogue are weird, and I didn't care about any of the characters. Also, personal pet peeve: I don't particularly appreciate when authors try to make the MC/FC 17 with an upcoming birthday to "wait out" the sexual acts instead of having other factors at play, such as tension, character arcs, or other plot points. This sort of theme is incredibly uncomfortable and I'm not sorry to state it. I won't be continuing the trilogy.
This is the first book in this dark bully HS romance. Violet is the strongest character that faces adversity. The loss of her mother. Having to go to high school he’ll with the evil rule of Knight. I devoured this book and am hanging on the edge of a heck of a cliff hanger. This story checked off all my boxes and I am left wanting more. I am volunteering to leave a review for this book
This was a really fast-paced book. I think maybe a little fast-paced for me. I felt like there was something missing from this story or maybe, the character development was put together quickly.
I’m not sure, but somethings didn’t add up and I was left with a lot of questions. I suppose this could be the authors way of leaving the first book in the series a mystery?
Either way, I did really enjoy the story, and where the story was heading. I had expected a cliffhanger and what a cliffhanger that was!
I’m excited to read the next instalments when they’re released to see where the story takes us and to finally, figure out what the hells going on! 🤔😂
If you’re the sort of person not bothered about a quick read with a cliffhanger, then I suggest you dive in. If not then maybe this book isn’t for you!
What a read!! This was an amazing book, keeping me on my toes wondering what was going on and who the real bad guy was. Ah-maz-ing!! And that twist at the end! Epic!
I received a copy of this ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review"
Well lets just say that this was interesting, but why the cliffhanger 😩😩😩😩 I can't wait to find out what happens next ...
This book reminded me a little bit of riverdale with the south side and the north side bit. But has an unique spin on it. A girl from the wrong side of the tracks experiences tragedy and loss. She was then sent to live with a wealthy family in hopes that it would give her a better future.
Things aren't always as they appear and Violet was just about to find out how true that is.... twists you didnt see coming will shake things up for sure whether they are for better or worse who knows.
Knight and shining armor is more like the asshole wrapped in tin foil 😂😂 this one is finicky got some good qualities but mostly is a major dick. He Bullies Violet because she doesn't belong or so he thought. So what happens when his feeling smack him in the face ???
Will Violet find the peace she is so desperately looking for or is her world destined to be torn apart???
I received this book as an ARC and am providing my honest review.
Savage Devil was a total page turner from the get go. I loved the story from beginning to the cliffhanger and oh man what a cliffhanger. I so can't wait for the next book!!! There is just so much these characters go thru. It will just have your emotions all over the place. This book is a dark, bullying, enemies to lovers romance. If you have any triggers please be careful when reading this book.
Violet Adler is the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. I loved her character. She wasn't a pushover and gave as good as got. I felt like if she was going to go down she was going down swinging. I like to read a strong female heroine and Violet was that. She did have a vulnerable part to her and her tormentor knew where to push.
Knight King is the King of the school. He was arrogant, moody, and devilishly sexy. He is Violet's tormentor and is out to get what is his. May that be her or not who knows. He is very complex and hard to read. There are things that he would do for Violet that is swoon-worthy and then in the next moment he was a total bully towards her. He has the Alphahole down to a tee.
This book will leave you with a cliffhanger. I love cliffhanger books it's just my thing. I can wait to see what happens to the characters. I really like to try to guess what's going to happen next. But this one is a doozy!!! I can't wait for the next book!!!
Savage Devil will have sucked in from the very start. Violet is so strong through everything she is gone and put through. I love that with everything her spirit is still there. Knight is the man of mystery that I can't wait to unravel as the series goes on. There is this spark between Violet and Knight that you will love. Spoiled rich kids and the one from the wrong side of the tracks who will come out in the end? Well after this cliffhanger I can't wait to find out everything to come. You will have some questions throughout this one and I have a feeling by the time you are done with this series you may just be a pile of gooey mess. This is full of teenage bullying and mystery that will keep you turning the pages. I loved every moment of this one and I can't wait to sink my teeth into more Green Hills Academy.
Fabulous, with a tension that only increases during this first episode It's the first part of this romance with a high school vibe full of arrogant rich students, who harass and manipulate each other. In the midst of it all, Violet arrives because she is placed there by a manipulative mayor who threatens her after taking her in, without knowing the reasons, except that Violet's mother has just died . She is from a trailers park, she is poor and suddenly she is thrown into this hell in which Knight, the nephew of the mayor who lives with her, goes from an angel to a devil. I really liked the character of Violet who is strong, who takes the punches, but whose underlying revenge you feel, ready to explode and who tests the waters in which the others try to drown or eject her. For the character of Knight, he is just as fabulous than her, by his darkness, the limits of which we do not know. Some parts can be intense and difficult to read. Excellent ending on a heartbreaking cliffhanger.
Promising story that failed to deliver. Great bully elements, alphahole antihero Knight against but attracted to Violet, a nice girl who could hold her own from the wrong side of the tracks. Classic story, she comes to live with the evil mayor, in this case, who takes her in and sends her to a prestigious school for political points. He, of course, is abusive. Enter Knight, his nephew, who decides he dislikes Violet because he believes her to be a gold digger. He and his crew begin to bully her to get her to leave
Again great elements to this bully story that would usually draw me in, even the sexual tension, but the unfolding was just puttering, and just overall, everything was unoriginal. By halfway through nothing had really happened between the two main characters. My interest waned, and I must shelve this book.
I really enjoyed reading this book,it was a fabulous story a bully romance with a bit of intrigue. The only warning is that it does end on a cliff hanger, which honestly never bothers me because it just makes me want more. The chemistry between Knight and Violet is electric and kept me entertained and eager to read on,they are opposites and the divide between the rich and not so rich is apparent. Knight does not think Violet should be there,he is a privileged asshole and is mean to Violet she is a girl who has experienced a huge loss in her life....They CLASH !!....The Love/Hate relationship between them is exciting and captivating. As a debut novel I think Josie Max did a fantastic job her words were gripping and it was an interesting storyline. great read 5 stars.
Oh yeah!!! This was a killer way to start off this year's reading. I loved this story. It was fantastic. Tragedy, loss, heartache, love. Omg it was everything. Violet Alder has gone through alot in a short time, losing her mom and starting a new school wouldn't be the worst of it for her. Knight was the devil. As he was nicknamed after his parents both died tragically. This super crazy story keeps you hooked to the last word. Grab it. Read it. Don't put it down til your done! 5 huge stars from me. Ps. I love cliffys
Josie Max brought an all new high school bully for us to fall for people whisper of him being nicknamed “Devil” but little do those people know, Knight is savage enough to get the real Devil to bow down as his feet.
Violet Adler has just survived a night she doesn’t remember that ended in the death of her mom. She’s shoved into a whole new world of rich snobs, and people that are more fake than what they paid their plastic surgeons to “enhance”.
What this town wasn’t expecting was everything that is Violet, she is a pillar of strength and no matter how many of the students walking the halls of Green Hills Academy try to break her with their words her feistiness and strength will prove continuously that she’s no wilting violet.
Knight is cocky, mean, keeping secrets, and floating high on a revenge plan. He’s pure ignorance and hate in his first interactions with Violet but there seems to be a moment he sees something more in her than his preconceived notions.
The chemistry between them is there the moment they meet, every interaction fuels the tension between them until neither of them can stop the inevitable, not that they wanted to. They seem to come to an agreement as they both seem to be on a similar path to discover all that is amiss in North Green Hills not all is as it seems in this elite town.
Savage Devil is as intriguing as it is captivating, an alphaDevil, a fiery heroine, explosive chemistry, banter that simmers between venomous and alluring, secrets, mystery, suspense, and steam this combination had my eyes fixed on my kindle from the first page to the last.
Violet's world is turned upside down when her mother is found dead. When the mayor offers to take her in and pay for her to attend a school that will open the door to her dream college, she is confused but determined to do what she ahs to for her future. Her resolve is tested from the moment she steps foot on the mayor's property. It becomes quite evident that everything is not as it seems. She endures bullying at school...the worst coming from the boy who lives with the mayor as well, Knight. When the unthinkable happens, it is Knight that steps in. However, events keep happening that keep the reader guessing along the way as to who can be trusted and who can't. And that ending...I will definitely be reading the next book to see how it all plays out.
This one grabbed me from the beginning and left me hanging in the end.... I felt the writing style and story was very similar to another Author I LOVE so that was a plus. I appreciated Violet's strength, given her circumstances. I loved Ava, her enthusiasm brought light to this story's darkness. Knight, Seraphina and the Mayor were all something to be desired - but necessary for this story to work. This cliffhanger ~ I never seen this one coming! So many questions, I need answers and looking forward more from the Green Hills Academy Trilogy!
Page turner Steamy Unpredictable Savage devil this is the first book in the series! Violet loses her mom and gets thrown with rich people to take care of her! Knight is a bully that taunts her and is so cruel but one night could change a lot!!
, finished it in a couple hours was a good storyline, looking forward to next one Liked how violet wasn't just a pushover , would have liked more of knights pov
If you said ‘here’s a high school bully romance...read it’, I’d likely laugh cause I’m way past high school angst. However, I needed a new book and didn’t know what it was about before reading and then, wham, I couldn’t put it down. Call me a fan of the genre now if they are like this! Great characters (even if I want to slap a few...hard) and easy flowing plot line even if it’s rather dark. Looking forward to book #2!
Violet was numb. Her mom drowned in happy pond and everything changed for her. She was taken in by the mayor of the town and wasn’t treated very well. She came from the poor side and not the rich side. She changed schools and lost all her friend and even her aunt was ok with leaving her with a stranger. Violet had a thick skin but there were things that could break her. She became friends with Arabella and she was nice and then she meet Knight. He was called the devil at times. Knight and Violet became close but still at an arms length. There’s something about him that I feel like it’s a secret and maybe he keeps it to himself. He only wants to protect his sister and that’s truly all he cares about. The book was good but I feel like there’s a lot of unanswered questions that need to be answered. Violet started to let knight in but why does he act one way then another. It doesn’t fully make a lot of sense to me. I’m hoping for more from this story.
OMG OMG OMG, I cannot even begin to describe just how amazing this book is. I hate reading cliffhangers but I would read this book over and over again. Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. I am waiting with my breath held for the second book in this trilogy. Absolutely amazing book and highly, highly recommended.
I couldn’t put it down once I opened the book. I felt for Violet and all she’s been through. I also felt for Knight, even if I haven’t figured him out, just yet. I can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book

He grabbed my neck and pushed me back against the tree. This time I felt the hard ridges of the bark. His jacket had long since fallen from my shoulders. There was pain with what he was doing to my body, but instead of wishing to get away, I craved more. “I was sweet to you in the locker room. But that was in case someone walked in. Here,” he waved his hand at the trees, “no one will find us. No one will see what I will do to your body.” I swallowed and an unsettling shiver ran down my spine. My eye roamed wildly around the woods for signs of anyone close by. There was no one. I could see slivers of the parking lot, but it was too far for anyone to see us or hear me scream. He pulled up my thin sweater and pulled so hard on my bra cup that I heard a tear. My nipples were hard. A mix of arousal and the cold air made them perfect to be played with. But I suspected he didn’t want to play. Knight wanted to hurt me. “Please,” I whimpered.
Poor Girl Goes To Rich Prep School. Falls for The Bad Bully Boy
Violet Adler is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks.
She’s from Southside. The land of Trailer Parks, low income families, crime, and drug dealing.
So, when her ex junkie, mother is found floating face down in the ironically named, “Happy Pond” Violet finds herself under the guardianship of the towns sleazy Major.
From this point on Violets life is about to change dramatically…And, not in a good way. She is transferred to the exclusive, prestigious, “ Green Hills Academy” located on the “ Northside “ of town, where she crosses paths with all the usual cliché bully romance characters.
The Mean B..ches head of the fake, plastic surgery enhanced, Seraphina.
And,
The boys that run the school, lead by Knight King, who is the Major’s nephew, and ward. The other boys being Caleb, and Briggs. Violet is bullied relentlessly, as Knight has made it clear he wants the “trailer trash” gone.
Her only ally through all of the pranks, and insults is Arabella, the Principal’s daughter.
However, after arriving home from school one day, Violet is very nearly gang raped by the Major, and two of his associates. If it hadn’t been for Knight hearing her screams, coming to her rescue and diffusing the situation, (filming it as well) that exactly what would of happened
This signals a turn around in the way both Violet, and Knight now engage with each other, as Knight fight to keep his evil Uncle away from his young sister, he enlists Violet to help, while trying to keep his Uncle away from the inheritance he gets on turning eighteen. What these two weren’t prepared for however, was just how obsessed with Knight Seraphina was, and the lengths she was willing to go to.
Plus. As attracted Violet is to Knight, she is still not sure if she 100% trusts him.
Then when another person turns up dead: in the mysterious shaft under the school, no less. It’s not long before fingers start getting pointed, and this time they end up on Violet.
Is she responsible for the murdered man who was found? After all - he was one of her three attackers.
Or! If the strange letters she keeps getting sent are anything to go by- Is she being set up for the fall? AND! Is that person the very one she has been stupid enough to trust with her well-being, and possibly her heart?
This book started off great. I didn’t want to put it down. Despite that plot not being anything new. Poor girl up rooted from her home on the wrong side of town, having to survive with the mean, bitchy, entitled, rich kids at expensive Prep, school.
Falls for her tormentor, Yada, yada But! I was here for the ride.
However. It wasn’t long before it became a little bit TOO predictable.
The scenarios were all ones we have read before in a million and one bully romances. We find out - Via Arabella, that all the boys ( and girls) have issuing with their parentals ( another bully romance “go to”) Then.
Once the authors make mention of “ a party” being held, you know, you just KNOW that the s**t will go down there. Every story, ever written, all the drama happens at the parties. And, true to form it did, with Violet, quite easily, giving up her V card to Knight. And panting, wet, with warm buzzing between her thighs…Oh Geez!
Also p, before that we got the predictable birthday scenario …So, i found some part a bit cringe.
Violet was extremely willing to let her guard down with Knight in pursuit of the big O’. Why? Because she found him to be HOT! and was attracted to him. Yep. She leaped off the V train pretty darn quick.
And, once she got her first good D’ing there was NO going back for her. She was constantly thinking g about jumpin, Knights bones. Nipples were always hard, she was wet. She became obsessed with being F***k” d.
Fair enough But! I kinda didn’t want her catching feelings for Knight, as he could be an arrogant A hole at times, and was clearly more interested in control and having her submit
So things ended on….. You guess it. A cliffhanger, with Violet feeling betrayed. And. I for one, am ALL here for it. Please, please make Knight really “the devil” and don’t wimp him out for…*cough* True Luuuve …yuk! ***
