Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

An amazing, heart-wrenching, exciting roller coaster of a journey!

Have you ever picked up a book, filled with the expectation that you already knew how it would play out, perhaps not exactly, but with a well-justified high degree of certainty? In my experience, most of the time, those expectations are spot-on, with a sometimes scary level of accuracy.

Not this time.

Now, mind you, this is my SECOND pass through this series (I neglected my reviews the first time), so this is a slightly different viewpoint than my first read through.

Nonetheless, I STILL found myself being caught by surprise, regardless that I already knew what was coming. Simply put, nothing in this series meets expectations other than the quality of the prose, which remains flawless - just as one would expect from Martha and Mike.

The storyline is a “tapestry plot,” meaning many unique and disconnected pieces which together make an elegant whole. For the reader, it’s only in the final chapters and even the final paragraphs that broader picture becomes finally clear and the entire scene can be taken in in its totality. And THAT, all puns intended, is when the magic happens.

The story is pretty great, all on its own, an enjoyable mystery and adventure filled with excitement. These, however, are only the pretty threads and gold brocade from which the tapestry is woven. But when all is said and done, the whole is so much more than just the sum of its parts.

So unique world building and characters. The premise was fun I really enjoyed all the different inhabitants. I did not like the fact that books ended on what were more like chapter cliff hangers then where to leave a book. I only felt the last couple got it right with ending a story line but leaving the next to be solved in the next book. The main characters had a task to complete that was most urgent and yet everything else seemed to be more important.
I really feel this story could have been condensed into 3 books quite easily.Time frames and the building of suspense would also have benefited from a shorter story.
Tons of good ideas but I kinda felt they got jumbled. I did receive these books from the author and am happy to leave this reveiw. I do think this is a good choice for a time when you can just curl up with a story for hours.

Fast, light read. Trio of magically gifted sisters trying to clean up an accidental mess one of them made. Don't think Charmed, it's more like the trio saying "Why doesn't this stuff come with a manual?" (That might be an accidental quote?)

Several great ideas are introduced as plot devices but never explored, e.g. the sister's house or the snarky statue. Same with most of the other characters that swirl in and out of the story. Really wished we could have learned more.

Editing noticeably falters in Books 3&4, but mostly recovers to finish the series. The serialized nature of the books can be distracting. For example, the ubiquitous references to the sister's inherited hair.

Awesome series!!!

I've spent the majority of my time during this pandemic catching up on my reading. I just spent a wonderful week with the Witches of Pressler Street. With a wonderful backstory and a history that is rich with family, diffrent races from another world, a family legacy that isn't what it seems and a seriouly bad ass villain who's just misunderstood, these books are a great read. Kudos to Ms Catr and Mr Anderle. I'm going to look for more from them. Like right now!! Highly recommend this series.

Rollicking Fun.

I loved the description of the variety of characters, and the different races. I found the concept of earth as a space vessel from another planet fascinating. The way the chapters flowed from one book to another was seamless. The personal commentary in between each book was also very enjoyable. Admittedly, once I started reading, it was difficult to put down. There were enough twists, and turns throughout to keep one guessing what would happen next. Anyone who enjoys quirky paranormal adventure will surely enjoy this box set. Happy reading!!!!

Loved the theme

I read the entire series. The first and last were great reads, They held my attention and some of the content in the others was great. Unfortunately there were many pages I skipped as they weren’t interesting. Sometimes it read as if there was a page minimum the author tried to meet- thus putting stuff in that slowed the story line down. Having said that, I would love to see a movie made of the important and appealing parts of the series:)

First read from Michael Anderle and Martha Carr

I'd never reD anything from them and it looked good . I did enjoy it however it was a slow series I took much longer to complete the series than I normally do . I did struggle at times to continue as I feel there was to many small unimportant details and not enough depth at times . It's not bad at all just not as intense as I felt it could've been .

A Wonderful, Feel-good, Story!

Martha and Michael have created a magical universe that resonates with any of us who perceive beyond the five human senses. The story has a greater depth than almost every other paranormal tale and the final resolution is a masterful example of thinking outside the box.

Intriguing Take on Earth

I really enjoyed this series of stories. I feel the author reached outside the box of typical magical yarns and came up with a totally new take on the existence of earth and the beings who inhabit it. Fast paced and entertaining, this one will keep you turning pages from beginning to end, with a good number of surprises and a laugh or two thrown in.

Enjoyable reading, with fun interactions between the sisters

This is a good set of books, but for me it doesn't work anywhere near as well as some of Martha Carr's other books. Perhaps the sisters aren't as kick ass as heroines in other of her books, but the stories are still an entertaining read.

The Witches of Pressler Street complete boxset! 5 stars

What a deal! Can't believe how easy this box set starts off and how rough and complex it has to get to wrap everything up so sweetly!
Didn't expect the development of the series to be in baby steps and yet how what an amazing ending. Can't beat this boxset, for sheer joy and what a deal!

Excellent and involved story.

Thoroughly enjoyed this collection of books. It took sometime to get used to the style of writing. I would have given up but the story showed such promise. Yes slow to start but once the characters developed, it was so worth reading through the beginning to the heart of the story. Sorry it has ended.

Broken magic

This has been quite an adventure. The Witches of Pressler Street in the beginning didn't impress me, but I made myself stick with . Sure glad I did. A whole different perception on magic the world, and magicals. This was new and at time frustrating, but a must read. Helps I was born in Texas. Thank you.

book 1-3

So far this is a great boxed set! The story is really unusual, has some serious new ideas on magic, our world and other accepted ideas. If you haven’t started this series, Ned to get on it. Love the sisters, the bulldog, mom and dad, the male friends of the sisters and their different types of magic that create this whole great story.

Excellent series

Enjoyed reading the whole series at once. The characters are well rounded and full of life. I love fantasy as a great way to escape for a few minutes to a few hours.

Good Story

I enjoyed each book. Except for 1 error, the storyline was consistent. I would have given it 5 stars, but for the authors’ telling about their lives in between each book.

Didn’t finish

I just couldn’t get into this series. I read the entire first book but, despite being really well written, I just didn’t feel the characters. I felt no empathy for them, and didn’t care if they succeeded or not. Too much like an episode of Charmed.

I would read it again but..

I liked the premise, but couldn't really follow the trips through the Huduls domain . magic certainly does exist, but the earth as a ship? Maybe the moon... I would read it again. Maybe I will orient myself better.

Great Series!

I loved this series! After reading The Maggie Parker series this was a great follow up! Our three witches are fun, young and learning what it's like to be on their own. It was a great read that kept you going through each book. You'll love it!!

What a fun read!

I am so happy to finally get a chance to read this series by two of my favorite authors!! I have yet to read a book from either and be disappointed. The sister witches get taken on adventure when the oldest makes a discovery and it is quite the adventure!

WHAT A CONCEPT!

Want magic, want suspense, what about the earth being a space craft having been off course and now orbiting our sun?
This series has it all including giant designers, gnome mechanics, tree folk, fairies and the rest. A great read.

Fun Read

The sisters have an interesting dynamic, just like 'normal' sisters. The stories progressed well. The few grammatical errors threw me but didn't detract from the stories. Overall, worth a read.

A fun read

Yes, sometimes the story is a little slow but the whole basis of the story and the planet upon we reside is unique. Way to go Martha Carr and Michael Anderle.
