I have read several summaries and workbooks by this company. I thought one of them was pretty decent, but this one, unfortunately, had some problems. The most problematic was incorrect word choice, whether because of wrong meaning or incorrect verb conjugation. There were enough errors in grammar, punctuation, and usage to at times hamper meaning or be distracting. The summary chapters themselves are written not as a true summary but as if the summarizer is relating what the author said, making statements like, “Bolton stated...” or “Bolton began to talk about...” I much prefer a summary where they simply summarize instead of framing it as if they are telling us that the author said this, explored that, and then stated something else. It gets a bit repetitive. There is an overview in the front as well as a second one (for some reason) in the back of the book, along with a little about the author and a few of what they call “trivia” questions. In the two intro and outro overviews, the author gives some very light, very unobjective analysis of the book (the first one; I did not agree with some of this “analysis”) as well as states some troubles that Mr. Bolton had with getting his book published (the outro). The trivia questions don't really feel like trivia questions in the truest sense. They're more like comprehension questions to see if you picked up on certain details. All in all, I found myself disappointed in this book because of all the errors and strange word choices, as well as gaps that I felt were left in trying to make this summary too concise.
I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
This is an informative summary and I look forward to reading the full length book in the future. I do love getting a peek into the world of politics it's like being a fly on the wall. While I appreciate the summary of Mr. Bolton's version of what happened, this is just another sad look at an incompetent president. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this summary.
