Drew ran away to college to avoid dealing with being gay. That seems like a mistake when he ends up rooming with fellow wrestler Vince to whom he cannot deny his attraction. But maybe not, since Vince wants him too.
Publisher's note: This book is a homoerotic love story and contains subject matter that may be objectionable to some readers: male/male sexual practices, including rimming, and sexual fetishes.
Bobby Michaels lives in Fort Lauderdale with hundreds – nay! thousands – of gorgeous, muscular men (most of them Marines) running around in his mind. Some are memories of sexual encounters, some are the characters from his many Nifty stories and Loose Id novels and some are characters from novels waiting to be written. So, though he lives alone, he is never lonely.
Bobby has been many things in his life. An actor, director, nightclub singer, professional female impersonator, a monk and, for twenty nine years, a social worker and grant administrator for local government. His government career ended in 2007 when a stroke caused the loss of the use of his left arm so that now all his writing is done by dictation through a voice recognition program called Dragonspeak.
But through it all Bobby has been first and foremost a writer, beginning his career writing stories for trashy romance magazines in the 1960s along with stories and poetry through the rest of his life. From the time he was five years old, Bobby has always dreamed of actually holding in his hands a book with his name on it as the author.
An avid reader, Bobby’s Kindle has hundreds of books in it. Most of them are male/male romances because he loves reading them almost more than he likes writing them.
Just could not finish it. I don’t care about either of the characters, it is like they copied and pasted the same ridiculous sex scene with the worst “dirty talk” I have ever read/heard. Read like a really bad porn and at 64% I still don’t care how it ends there is no point reading on…
””there ya go, babe. All my cock for your hungry butt to chew on. Yeah, that’s it. Tighten that hole around my cock. Fuck! You’ve got the tightest, wettest, hole I’ve ever fucked,” Vince Growled.”
Sorry first why is it wet and then why is it chewing? I don’t want any “hungry butt” chewing on anything of mine… that’s is just one example but almost every sex scene (Several by 64%) was the same missionary in the bed with a variety of crappy talk. I tried to find the humor in it but after a while it was just too much to take and I give up.
Drew is the little brother of Gregg and he is a wrestler, like his brother, and like his brother is gay. For this reason, when he is 18 years old he decides to leave home and their unlovely parents and join Gregg at University.
He is setting in room with Vince, another wrestler, and soon the two of them become lovers. Like for Gregg and Dar, they don't find problems among the College people, and very little problems with Vince's family, a very traditional italian family.
And here maybe there is the strong aspect of the book: one of the Vince's brothers are David, a catholic priest. Even if David is very supporting of Drew and Vince, the opinion on the Christian Church we can evince from the book is pretty hard. For this reason I find this book more strong than the other, Gregg and Dar. Here we can, maybe, read the real experience of the author (his or of his friend, I don't know). Like an Italian who live in the Pope's country, I must admit that much of these hard opinions are sadly true, but, fortunately, something is changing.
The book is pretty strong also in the love aspect: Drew and Vince, like Gregg and Dar, are young college jock, and at the beginning of the book, seems that sex is the most important thing (even if it arrives after a love proposal): they make sex very often and for them sex is a smelling and tasting experience! But the book grows with them after the college years and we can have a look at their adult relationship.
I found this book a lot more committed of what you can expect from a jock dorm tale.
I know a few have been put off with the odd moment of jock strap sniffing in the original Jock Dorm, but it didn’t really bother me too much. I’ve re read that wee gem several times. O-O. This second Jock Dorm novel about Drew and Vince is just as hot, but does not quite have the same impact as the first. The story felt rushed in parts, but I think Bobby Michaels does those first fumbling attempts at sex incredibly well. http://sharrow.wordpress.com/2009/07/...
Well.... here comes another delightful surprise. TBH, I started reading this second book after the first one expecting seck, seck, and lots, lots of seck BUT, to my surprise, there is much, much more than that. I understand many found the book kind of rushed things but I'd say it crammed pretty much everything in half the length of an average book. It actually does better than the first book, in fact.
Another really noteworthy aspect is the one about advances in human knowledge that "shot down" those suppositions. It underscores the importance of understanding, tolerance, and especially reason rather than willful ignorance. Seriously, how many books do that?
And of course the seck is exquisitely delicious (don't judge and just enjoy it for what it is, c'mon. After all, that's the point, is it not?). I think I have my fill of eye-gasms for the next decade now.
That said, I'm off to savor the rest of the goodies now. Mmmmm
Edit: Oh, and, as for the similarities, I'll think of this as reading from another point of view, hehheh. Kind of like re-reading the first book but with more elements added to it (which normally I wouldn't). Too many books waiting in queue lolz And, seriously, you don't need 10+ different ways to express what's already obvious. That's for abstract concepts. It's the human body here, you know, can't have it too imaginative to be unable to reconstruct in our dirty minds lol.
Edit: Ok and, lol, a bit dramatic (expressive? ohhhh). Soap and opera pale in comparison imo.
Edit: And omgs how could I have forgotten to mention the many smile and laugh moments!!
Gregg and Dar rescue Drew and with the help of the coach he is able to find housing and start training for the season early. His new roommate is Vince, who Drew has had the hots for since he saw him at the state championship tournament.
Drew and Vince become friends, and of course eventually fall head over heels in love.
It's a real shame. This series is so freaking cheesy. The sex scenes are not HOT.. They are corny as all get out, but for some ungodly reason, I CAN'T seem to stop reading them. They hook you and you have to keep turning the page to see what will happen next, no matter how cheesy the dialogue is.
I really love the characters, which is another thing that keep drawing me back to this series. I just wish I could rewrite some of the scenes, mostly the sex scenes.
Drew and Vince had a weird smelling fetish I didn't get, but at least, unlike Gregg and Dar's fetish it didn't have me wanting to run to the bathroom trying to hold down my lunch! I think part of the problem as well, is I am an angst person. I love when characters are together, but I have to have drama in what I am reading. These books don't have enough of it, but please don't let that discourage you from reading, I am just a drama queen I guess!
Now I have to see what will happen with David... I hope the sex scenes are better! And no weird fetishes, please!
I like the book and I like this series despite it being very unrealistic. How many declarations of love can there be between the covers of a book before one passes out from the sugar induced coma? It gets to the point where I just want to say, yah, I know, you love each other, lets move on. I feel like there should always be little cherrubs, or cupids, flying around my head as I read this series. And everything is just so "perfect" and works out so perfectly. That is what all makes it unrealistic for me. I don't get lost in the story. I clearly know I'm reading a book. But I still can't stop myself from reading the series. I like the characters and enjoy the story. Their fetish for smells grosses me out to no end. Sorry, but I don't find body scents to be a turn on at all so reading about it certainly doesn't do anything to turn me on so maybe that's another part of my problem which certainly is on fault of the authors. I liked how the story dealt with Vince's health problem. I liked the new direction in Drew and Vince's life. And David's statement at the end was a shocker. I'm glad David's book is out already cause I would have hated to have to wait with that big cliff hanger.
I liked the first book in the Jock Dorm series despite its many faults (cheasy lines, instant love and commitment declaration, TMI about smell and 'flavour' of sex). I read it as tongue in the cheek kind of story. In "Drew and Vince" the distance and humor are lost. The only thing I can think of that has changed is the narrative mode - "Dar and Gregg" has third-person narration, "Drew and Vince" is told from Drew point of view. It ruined the book for me.
Again, not a book I was reading for literary enlightenment. I picked this book knowing I was going to get a lot of sex with ridiculous bedroom chatter and some kind of sense kink. Was it a great book, no, but it was entertaining :) !!
This book just got off on the wrong foot with me. It was just too much insta-love right from the beginning with no build up.
Still even with the poor writing and cheesy lines, I couldn't stop reading. Drew and Vince's love, though hard to believe, was a thing of beauty. We can all dream that relationships are that perfect...right!!!
One thing about Bobby Michaels is that he gives you the full sexual experience in vivid details...smells included. Some people get turned off by this but I kind of like the raunch factor.
Oh nooooes! The dialogue in this is like the script of a porn. It was almost exactly like the first book but with a bit of extra angst/drama in the middle. Everything in the MCs relationship happened at warp speed. Not to mention, years would go by with out any sort of notice. Like one minute Drew has four years of school left and then the next page, 5 yrs blew by. WTF?
Levando-se em consideração os aspectos narrativos e o conteúdo da própria história minha avaliação seriam 2 ¹/² estrelas. No entanto, ao final a história apresenta um saldo positivo, portanto aproximarei para 3 estrelas.
Excellent writing, fantastic storytelling, and in short this book meets my 5 start rating. In short this is another win for Bobby Michaels. I can wait to read part three of this series. I'm hoping for a part 5.
3.5 I have to admit that I actually like this story better than the first. The whole smegma grossed me out from the 1st book. Vince and Drew got together a bit too quick, but unlike the the 1st story this one went by over a 5 year span. That made all the changes more believable.
I grumped along reading this book because it was so similar to the first one and then...oh, my testicular cancer. And then oh my, adopting a child. Much better than I expected, a very good read.

I just couldn't finish it. I had to stop at 20% on my kindle. I figured the first book was bearable so the second book to the series should be a little better. But I was wrong.
I was cleaning up some old files when I found these books so I decided to read them. Not really my thing (hence the 2 stars) but if you love lots of smut then this is for you.
