Sudden attacks on Maggie escalate. Someone wants her dead. Maggie, Larry, and her team investigate the puzzling clues that point to a long ago, unsolved theft of famous works of art from an art museum, but how is an old theft related to the attacks and a series of fires? Maggie intends to discover the truth. Her unknown enemy intends for her to die.

I'm a fan of Kinsey Milhone, Agatha Raisin and Stephanie Plum but my favorites by far is The Grey Lady. Maggie Sloan has captured my heart.
These books are not just another mystery series, Ms. Barrett has created characters that are intriguing, endearing and unforgettable. I'm hoping book 4 is on the horizon.
So nice to read a book without lots of foul language and gratuitous sex. But with loads of suspense and action. The Gray Lady has become one of my favorite characters to follow. Hope there is more coming.
I love this series! Great characters, loads of action, a little romance thrown into the mix and a mystery that you will never figure out but have fun trying. I sure hope this series continues.
Another intense mystery for Maggie and her crew! This book involves missing art and arson and introduces some new crew to the series. As usual it keeps the reader glued to the story with the terrific story line and the family of wonderful characters that continues to grow. Kate having returned to her FBI job after the diner burnt down is missing through most of the story. She does appear during the best part of the book. This book is a good read for anyone. The series can be read alone however the reader may question some small points throughout the story. One more stunning job for Judith Barrett. Can't wait for the next book.
Book 3 was much like the first two, which makes it awesome. I read this one in one sitting. The characters feel like friends, maybe even family. It feels like the mystery takes second place or happens in the background while Maggie goes about her crazy life but the book is still very entertaining. I am sad that there is only one more book in the series.
This is the third book I've read in this series (Maggie Sloan mysteries) and I already have book four to read. I have enjoyed reading these books and plan to read more from this author.
