The wickedest evil hides in plain sight.
One night twisted the reality I knew.
I’m thrust into a world of unfathomable wealth and boundless deception.
A world where hidden danger lurks just beneath the surface.
The face of an angel with a heart of stone.
Asher craves my hatred.
He wants a challenge, desiring to play a game that will make my life a misery.
But the joke is on him. I won’t bow.
He can’t break me.
Because I’m already in hell.

DNF - h is a promiscuous high schooler. I already lost confidence in this author after my last try…. Plus it’s a series and I’m just not in the mood for that level of disappointment. 😬🤷🏼‍♀️

I thought this book was going to be good ! I mean I got through 80% of the book without thinking there goes another doormat . Same story as every other bully romance . But no.. of course the story wouldn’t veer course. Dumb idiot loser girl (as always) , talks a good talk about how she’s gonna inflict as much misery on her bully only to jump into his bed and be his play thing again the berry next chapter . Why can’t these girls be as strong as they try to act it? Talk a big talk to end up being none other than a doormat . This dark book has so Much potential ! It had the elements of mystery and intrigue , but copies every other bully romance into making the female character a doormat . It can’t be a bully story if she’s not really being bullied . I mean she’s so dumb with lust blinders on , it seems like all these bully romances should just be dumb doormat romances . Maybe we will all know to skip it .

Murder, A Bully and A Mystery

Quinn loves her daddy, but has she lost him forever?!?! That's the question. She doesn't trust her mother, her step-dad, her best friend, or the boy she thinks she loves. She is drowning in lies and has no where to run. How is she suppose to survive when she can't even breathe. If that does not peak your interest, what else can I say?

I knew it! I would love this book. I would finish it in one sitting. I would ignore the fact that "1984" is still on read, badly needing my attention. If you love Eden O'Neill's Court High Series, I bet you're gonna love this one, too.

I think the only thing that bothered me is the push and pull between Asher and Quinn that while I think was necessary since this is an enemies to lovers romance, their major three-words-eight-letters, out of nowhere confession didn't sit well with me. I think they weren't able to establish a solid relationship for them to lay it all out, although quite frankly, who am I to dictate about the right time to declare the right feelings?

But I must say, the story looks promising. Need the sequel now.

Two cause mystery

Wow where 2 start? We jump right in with her in hot tub contemplating giving it up to her then boyfriend but cops interrupt .Fast forward to a mom that left her and her dad when she was still in elementary school and her husband that is just way to cool with his wife having abandoned her kid .But I'm guessing it something else?
Asher and all the crew. We have bad boy ,his BF,the sister ,the sl#t and the boy that is really bad but plays good . Typical set up .My upset is the way this is wrote . They literally sound as if they should be in elementary school.
I mean one day a picture get released making her look like threesome with Ahole ex and ex bf.It gets on everybody's phone and she knows he did it as he set up her phone and keys to get stole . She's mad,he toxic they hate each other ........then next thing you know they are bumping uglies and acting as if nothing happened .
This to me was a ill attempt at a bully romance and it like they didn't have any idea.on how to execute it . I mean all he had to do is whip out the.D. And she was all over that . Forget everything he said bad and did .
Here is my made up scene i gave in head with the ending eye roll
Just , "I hate you ," as she walked across floor to slap him .He walked a few places with the smirk unzipped his drawers at whipped out the D that makes the girls go stupid and the world go round .She stopped dead still and her eyes glaze over and pants "what we talking about ? " As he is cackling in evil glee! 🙄
So it wasn't deep ,and not thought out scenes basically I guess the go to sleep and forget the next day and had a clean slate . I am going to try to read book two in the hopes of the loose threads of mystery that kept me hoping this was leading somewhere so.fingers crossed and all that jazz 👯

I’m assuming this was a buildup

One trope I happen to love is Bully Romance but this one fell short for me. There was no character development or buildup for the love story. Asher & Quinn never had one conversation of substance with one another, not one date, not anything to make me fall in love with either character. The book was written in a single POV so I have no clue how Asher felt and there was no way to fall in love with him. My hope is the next book redeems this one because the involvement with her father is unclear, the love story wasn’t built up between Asher & Quinn, and now there is a cliffhanger. Let’s hope the characters develop next book.

Good mystery/bully romance going on. Not sure if I bought they were in love, felt like they just started tbh. Looking forward to book 2, glad it’s not so far away. Quinn is relatable but sometimes not with running away-very young way to deal with things. Also thought the over cursing was annoying in the beginning. Glad that slowed down, or maybe I got used to it. Did enjoy the side mystery romance of Elliot and Victoria! Was waiting for something worse to happen with Grant-maybe a spiked drink? Maybe more in book 2 but doubt he’ll be a big part.
Overall enjoyable and quick read!

Wonderful dad high school bully romance.

This is the first book in a duet so be ready for a cliffhanger ending. Quinn's father died in a tragic accident and she ends up having to go live with her mother whom she has had no contact with since she left Quinn at age seven. There is something sinister going on and Quinn meets Asher who instantly treats her like crap, but she can't help but be drawn to him. This is a great read and I'm looking forward to the Dr one book in this duet.

Sucked in!

There’s something happening under our noses with this story! Somethings not quite right.

Poor Quinn has been left alone after her fathers accident and she goes to live with her mother - a mother that abandoned her when she was 7. She’s thrusted into a world of wealth and after a few weeks, a world of secrets and betrayal.

Can’t wait for book 2 because that cliffhanger left me with soooo many questions!

You have to read it

First book to be read by the author A.J. Logan. I was very impressed with the storyline and writing. I didn't want to put this down. I loved Quinn and her bring feisty towards her bullies and she wouldn't bow down, she didnt cave until she was really ready. Asher calling her out everytime was thrilling to read. I just hope Quinn reconciles her former friends. If she can easily forgive Asher I know she can forgive Harlow

So this book had the potential to be really good and I planned on giving this a better rating but then the I love yous came. They said I love you but had never had a real conversation besides slinging insults and saying awful things to each other. They went from hate, to hooking up while still hating each other and then I love you. Other than that I thought the story line is really good and I'm definitely reading book two. I think if rushed I love yous doesn't bother you, then definitely read this book because it is good, I just couldn't get over that part of it.

Okay start Interesting a bit intriguing

This was a good start. Loved her stepfather's personality. Really hope he isn't the villain. Doubt if he is personally. The connection between the main characters isn't felt. I just don't see or feel the supposed connection between them. The lust wasn't even comprehended by this reader.

The story is interesting and intriguing. I may read book 2 eventually. On to another story for now though.

Okay so I know a lot of people said this book was just like every other bully romance but I think there is more than meets the eye! I don’t know what it is yet but the suspense is killing me! I HAVE TO READ THE SECOND ONE NOW, not gonna lie I did love this book and Quinn! She was so strong and Asher really does seem to love her! I was happy when the wound up together for it all to come crashing down in the cliffhanger ugh

I really thought this was going to be such a good book with suspense and a little bit of angst, but I wasn’t thrilled about it. I was even less thrilled when I noticed how the second book was going to go. There needed to be more romance between the two main characters. There was just way too much push & pull for me.

No rest for the wicked!

Man O man!! Quinn cannot seem to catch a break! Everywhere she turns, someone is lying to her or turning their back on her! She can’t trust anyone! No even herself since allowed herself to fall for Asher! I can’t wait to see what happens next! Highly recommended!

This book was awesome

Quinn and Asher have major chemistry and I love it!! I love the suspense and romance in this book. I like many of the side characters as well. I am rooting for Quinn to get along with her mom. I am not sure about Nathan right now. Very excited for the second book!!

I love love not knowing what’s coming next. I think that’s the best part of reading a new book and this one lives up to that. I enjoy cliffhangers so I was excited to see where this one let off. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of Quinn nor Asher, Asher seemed to be batteling quite a few personalities, and Quinn was such a doormat when it came to Mason, Asher, and everyone else.

Losing

I found this plot intriguing. Quinn is devastated by losing father. Having to move with her mother, who has nothing to do with.

Quinn is looking for what happen to her father, and she not liking what she has found.

Another Cliffhanger!

Like every duet- the first half of this book ended in a good old fashioned cliffhanger! There was drama, there was action, there was heartbreak! I can’t wait to read Book 2 in this duet!

Het was oke hoor. Dat van haar en hem was wel iets te plotseling en ik snap niet waarom hij haar zo moest uitdagen om het begin. En what about protection? Je weet niet waar hij geweest is. Nathan was erg sus tbh. Dat zijn aardige mensen...
