Falling for Trouble

Rate this book
She loved him, but they could never be more than friends. Sophia Kidd and Abe Rochester had been best friends since they were children. With both of their pasts scarred, the only people they could rely on were each other. And so an unbreakable bond was formed, one that tied their lives together, but never in the way she wanted. Known as “Trouble” in town, Abe wasn’t the guy a girl brought home to meet her parents. He indulged in all the bad things life offered.
But she loved him. She was in love with him. And the heart wanted what the heart couldn’t have. And so she kept things strictly on the friend level. But when a night of partying and tossing back drinks had the world blurring together, she found herself in Abe’s bed. What should have been an explosive morning after, both of them finally expressing their feelings for the other, turned out to be a nightmare. Abe had no recollection of the night they just shared. Humiliation was just the tip of the iceberg, and it didn’t matter how fast or far she ran; Sophia couldn’t escape fate.
And what fate gave her was Abe’s baby. How could things work out when Abe didn't even remember sleeping with her? Reader This was previously published under the same title. It has been re-edited and revised. It may contain subject matter sensitive to some readers.

This has got to be the least fave re-release Jenikas books, it got a new cover, edits and I still dislike it.

Abe... lord Abe for a guy who loves Sophia all his life he was a shitty friend and a manwhore (glad we didn't see it) but it was mentioned many times and Sophia had to witness this.. so pinning from both sides.. and one night Abe gets so drunk they sleep together she loses her vcard like this. And what's sad Abe doesn't remember there might so Sophia is feeling heartbroken and humiliated.

Now Sophia makes a choice to go out on a date and try to move on this makes Abe jealous and trying to fix things between them. Then Sophia finds out shes pregnant and breaks it off with the guy she tried to move on with (she didn't sleep with him) and tells Abe he pushes away when she informs him its his. Lord.. also I dislike his nickname for her "Kid " I known its her last name but dang.

Angst, op drama (date for h and random woman mention) drama, slight secondary character, sexy times, virgin gal and a manwhore (didnt show but Mentions the many girls)

Spoilers below **********

Let me get this straight. H has been involve with h since forever ( they were best friends) and what does he do to show that he loves the h??? he sleeps with everything that moves., even if he does not like the girl. SERIOUSLY????
so needless to say I did not buy one least bit that the H ever loved the h, And for the love of God, I can not read another book about a h who loves the pathetic hero so much that she never dates or has sex with any one else while the douche bag is sleeping with everything that moves. No sensible woman would stand by and watch this and not say "screw that!" I'm out" Seriously. and this Douchsicle supposedly loves her. Can not imagine what he would be like if he did not care for the h. I mean, the h has caught him numerous times in the throws of sex, just after having sex, or cleaning up after him from having sex all with other women. And continues to make breakfast for him every time. I mean like WTF?? Seriously lets canonize the heroine and be done with it.

Sophia and Abe grew up best friends both suffered more pain than most, they always had each other no matter what. But Sophia has been in love with Abe since they were young, the problem is that Abe doesn't look at her as anything more than a friend and sister. Abe drinks more than he should and sleeps with anything that can walk and Sophia is there to help with the morning after and making sure he makes it home safe. Abe lost both of his parents when he was in high school and he's gotten worse since. On the night of Abe's mothers birthday Abe gets very drunk and almost ends up in a fight and Sophia is there to take him home.

When they get to Abe's house things quickly get out of hand and Abe tells Sophia he wants her. Thinking she may finally have her dream Sophia and Abe spend the night together and Sophia looses her virginity. But when Abe wakes Sophia quickly finds out Abe doesn't remember anything. Broken hearted Sophia leaves, Abe see's the change in Sophia and decides now is the time to get his life in order and tell Sophia he loves her and has always loved her. But Pain and fear quickly get in the way, and now it seems Sophia may have finally found the strength to move on. But Sophia has a huge surprise that will change both Abe's and her life forever she will just have to tell him first. And Abe will have to become the man Sophia deserves because he knows she deserves the best.

This was a really good quick summer read. Abe was a man wh*re in every sense of the word but I still loved him and he does everything he can to fix his life and be worthy of Sophia, he knows she is his everything and that he will never find anyone better or love anyone more. Another thing I loved about Abe was that he didn't run scared to the first woman he saw when things got hard or looked bleak, he took responsibility for making his self healthy and better so that he could be the man Sophia deserved. Both Abe and Sophia had painful pasts and wanted something better for their lives, while knowing the other would never be within reach. I fell in love with both Abe and Sophia and I was rooting for them the whole way, wanting them to figure it out and find love with each other. Jenika Snow again wrote a great book that sucked me in and had me hooked till the last page.

A little bit heartbreaking. Abe and Sophia finally come together after years of friendship. There’s a big hiccup that keeps them apart. The story made my heartache. Abe does everything he can to make things right. This is a newly edited story that has previously been published. This is not a safe story.

A frustrating slow burn but I loved every page of it!

Falling Into Trouble is a sweet story of best friends secretly in love with each other, but both too scared to admit their feelings. Then one drunken night they finally come together, but he can’t remember a thing about their first time together.

Abe frustrated me to no end, but the beautifully broken and scarred man still captured my heart with his sweetness and tenderness towards his best friend, Sophia. Most women would have given up on Abe long ago, but he was there for Sophia when she had no one and her love for him was unconditional, even if he didn’t know it; even if he was too selfish and blind to see it.

I really enjoyed this story! I think it was a slower burn than what I’m used to from Jenika Snow, but I loved this sweeter tale of two beat friends. GREAT READ!

Friends to lovers romance about Sophia and Abe. They have been friends for such a long time but one drunken night they cross the line. When he doesn’t remember the night they spent together, she starts to pull away from him and move on with her life. This involves finding or at least trying to find happiness with another man but when a surprise pops up, she tries talking to Abe but he won’t listen. Will she be able to make him see what is standing in front of him or is it too late for them?

I absolutely love friends to lovers stories. This one had a great twist.

Abe and Sophia have known each other for a very long time and have each others backs, but one thing they don’t tell each other is that they are secretly in love with the other. They don’t feel worthy of love, so they continue being friends, until one night when all things change.

I felt such heartbreak for them, and their painful past didn’t help either. But once Abe got his head together he was there for Sophia and Sophia didn’t give up on Abe, they just needed that little push to see things straight.

Such a sweet, short, angsty story. :') I loved it. I loved all of it.
The characters, the story line (however predictable), the dialogues. And Abe. Dammit, he was the fuckin' star of this book.

description

Let's break the plot down:

Sophia 'Kid' Kidd has been in love with her bestfriend Abe 'Trouble' Rochester for as long as she can remember. He's been there for her in need, in pain. He's sweet, has hot body covered in tattoos and a beautiful heart that only Sophia knows about. But... the thing is. Abe is a man-whore. He's borderline alcoholic and trouble always finds him. When it doesn't, Abe goes looking for it. And he has no idea about her feelings.

description

Unbeknowest to Sophia, Abe has been secretly in love with his best friend ever since they were kids.

But when things happen unplanned and a drunk Abe and a sober Sophia end up in bed together only to have Abe forgotten all about in the morning, shit goes down.

description

Of course, they have their happy ending but they need to tackle this gorgeous piece of a man called Hunter. Oh how I would love to read his own story!

Anyhoo... Its a really short read without alot of indepth and waiting. It doesn't drag in places and is fast-paced.

The best part, however, is that the author chose to help Sophia move forward after the "epic-night" disaster. I loved that Sophia didn't mope around for 5-6 years thinking Abe would come to her. Felt realistic that way. ;)

Couldn't help but keep singing Taylor Swift's Trouble whenever Abe was in the scene. He surely was one helluva piece of trouble. ;)

P.S. Thanks Aayesh. :* I went in blind and totes loved it. *hifi*

Sophia and Abe have been friends for years and years. nd most of that time Sophia has been in live with Abe. But she watches as he frequently picks up girls in front of her and takes them home. And she frequently witnesses them i n states of undress when she comes over tonmake him breakfast in the morning. One night, she takes hiim home to keep him out of trouble, and ends up sleeping with him. But things change when he wakes up in the morning, and doesn't remember a thing.

I had a hard time with this book. I feel bad for Sophia and her unreturned affections. BUT it seems like she is a masochist because she knows what she will continue to witness, and acts like it doesn't bother her. And she's an admitted enabler. I had a problem with Abe's charachter, because he has no respect for Sophia to treat her that way and let her witness his shenanigans, even though she is supposed to be his best friend. And the fact that he didn't believe her when she told him he was the father didn't sit well.AND the fact that she got pregnant made me want me to SMACK her. I mean, she knows how promiscuous he was. It would NOT BE OK to have unprotected sex with him just because she "trusts him"

I like Jenika Snow, but this story was a miss for me.

My Rating: ❤❤❤❤
VERY GOOD: The characteristics of a heart book include: a great story; I loved the characters; and there was an interesting plot and unique story elements; there may have been a few odd things kept the story from being amazing. I would read it again and I would recommend it to a friend.
My Thoughts:
Falling for Trouble was equally sweet and sad in parts. Abe and Sophia were both dealt some serious blows by life but their friendship and love anchored them. Through good times and bad; false starts and burnouts; they were always there for one another. I think the last line of the book summed the story and their relationship up perfectly:
"Who knew two scarred pasts could create such a perfect, beautiful little future."

SWEET ROMANCE

Short story about two lifelong friends Sophia and Abe. Sophia had been in love with Abe forever, but he only sees her as a friend he. Even treats her like a sister. Abe was trouble, in fact that was his nickname in town. Sophia had to standby and watch him drink to excess, and work his way through a string of women. Then one night when he was drunk and Sophia took him home they had sex, Sophia hoped it would mean something. But Abe didn't even remember. Heartbroken she starts to distance herself from him.

This is the second book I've read by this author and I have to say I like her style. I just wish this had been longer. The characters are very well portrayed, the emotion and sexual tension that the author injects into this is very tangible. If you're looking for a nice romantic read this fits the bill IMO.

4.3 stars. God-damn, I loved this book. Admitted, I was a bit irritated with Sophia when she started going out with that other guy, but meh. She broke it off. It was a sweet, short read. Naz, you're going to love this one.

This is a wonderful love story between Sophia and Abe, who have been in each other's lives as far back as children. They have leaned on each other as they have grown up because of things that have happening to them. Sophia has been in love with Abe but has been afraid to tell him because she doesn't want their friend relationship to change. Abe drinks a lot and sleeps with a lot of women but is a great mechanic at his job. Sophia's attitude starts to change toward Abe when he can't remember that they slept together when he was plastered drunk. She isn't about to bring it up to Abe because of her embarrassment. When Sophia starts to date her boss at the bar, this doesn't set well with Abe. He finally realizes that he has been in love with Sophia for a long time, but wonders if he is to late. When Sophia tells Abe that she is pregnant, he takes it the wrong way. So begins the crack in their relationship that may not be able to be repaired. I loved this love story between best friends. If I was Sophia, I would have wanted to slap the living tar out of Abe for how he acted and maybe have him grovel a bit. This was also a fast read and kept my attention.

Falling for Trouble is a trademark Jenika Snow story. The book is sexy and hot with a hero to match. Most of her heroine's are on the nicer side who love the hero from afar and dream of him. Sophia and Abe fit into this category. They have been friends for a long time and Sophia pines for him even while he sleeps with other women.

They spend the night together and Abe doesn't remember what happened and there is also a surprise pregnancy. Abe might be all hot stuff, but I'm not a huge fan of his character. I would have so moved on a long, long time ago and can't believe Sophia waited around.

Abe turns around before the end of this short book, thankfully, and queues the happily ever after. Falling for Trouble is a fun read that brings the heat and steam. Enjoy!

I am loving the re-releases from Jenika Snow. Sophia and Abe are best friends, always there for each other. Sophia though has been harboring deeper feelings and Abe has no idea. When Sophia starts distancing herself from Abe, he doesn't know how to handle it. There is a lot of emotion packed into this novella. For being so close, there is so much unsaid between these two. I flew through this one and I have to say I would have loved a little more time with these two after they finally get together. Not because there was anything missing, I simply adore this trope and wanted to see more of them as a couple. 4 stars for friends to lovers, Abe and Sophia.

Sophia and Abe became best friends as children but Sophia fell head over heels in love with as she grew up. Both Sophia and Abe became family after tragic childhoods that would impact their choices in life. Abe became the town’s bad boy by drinking, fighting and sleeping with every woman in town except his best friend. Sophia struggled watching Abe drink and take a different woman home every night. One night changed everything and the next morning Sophia is devastated when Abe has no memory of their amazing night together. That night also had consequences that left Sophia with a choice to make. What will Abe do when Sophia starts avoiding him and how will react when she begins spending time with another man? Highly recommend that phenomenal story!

Wow, I could not put this book down! The relationship between good girl Sophie and bad boy Abe will have you frustration, turmoil, and joy throughout. They have been friends forever drawn together by circumstances. Sophie sees Abe with every girl but her, and she wants what she does not have. One night while both are drinking they finally hook up. However, the next morning g Abe does not remember anything. Sophie is devastated, angry, and unsure of things. Well turns out she ended up witjn a present from that night. Will she have the courage to tell Abe or just go on with her life and find someone else? Will Abe remember and come for Sophie? Oh tje tangled web we weave. Great story!

Abe and Sophia have been friends for a long time. They both had it bad in the past but they were always there for each other. But what happens when they cross that line and become more than friends especially when one of them does not remember what happened? I like this story. The friendship and love between Abe and Sophia are strong. The characters are likeable. I enjoyed reading this. This story left me feeling good and I am satisfied with the ending. Well done!

Abe and Sophia have been best friends for years. They've cried on each other shoulders during bad times and also had fun during good times but neither has crossed "that line" of friendship, even though Sophia would love that. Abe has demons and Sophia has seen the results of those which made her love for him hurt more. With one night, things drastically change and what happened the next morning ticked me off. Even though she doesn't want too, Sophia decides it's time to move on but when Abe sees her with another man, what will he do. The story was great, the characters were great and even though this is a re-release, this is one story I missed from Jenika Snow. Will Abe be able to make up for all the hurt he's caused in Sophia life? Will he finally realize that he loves her? Loved it!

Okay I have to say this love story is a journey. Abe and Sophia have been best friends since they have been kids. They have both secretly been in love with each other for years. I did enjoy this book but didn’t like Abe too much. How much he hurt Sophia over the years is hard to take. This book is intense and their story isn’t a fairytale but they do have a very sweet happy ending so it is worth it in the end.

This is my first read from this author-the story was according to author published once before. While I am not the biggest fan of the third person point of view, this was a nice story. Abe and Sophia were wonderful characters.
They're friends, but only because Abe doesn't see Sophia for anything else, while she is in love with him. This was a wonderful story and I will read more from this author in the future. 4.5 stars

After a night with some drinks, Sophia who has been Abe's friend since childhood and has been in love with him for a long time, they final hook up. Only it does not go like Sophia had hoped. These characters were great you became involved in the story. The story had its own twist on the friends to lovers books. I really enjoyed this book and I enjoy Jenika Snow's writing. Another triumph for Jenika Snow, Falling For Trouble was a near perfect read, the only downside it had to end.

Sophia and Abe have been best friends since childhood, but Sophia is in love with Abe and never planned on telling him till took much drink at a party leaves her with a surprise, but with Abe having no memory of that night how will this ever work out?.

I’ve never read this book before and I’m not sure how I ever missed it? I thought I’d read every book by this author, but what an amazing read definitely glad I missed it now it was beyond anything I expected in the best of ways.

Best friends + s*x = Trouble

Sophia and Age have been best friends for a long time. Sophia feels a lot more than friendship when it comes to Abe, but she doesn't want to ruin what they have. But one night of too much alcohol and blurred lines makes for a night Sophia will never forget. Too bad Abe doesn't remember a thing the next morning and Sophia is too humiliated to say anything. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!

This book gave me some complicated feelings. Friends-to-lovers is something I really enjoy and I like this author but this book was more of a miss than a hit for me. There is plenty of emotion and drama here but also a lot of frustration to be had as these two characters struggle with their unsaid feelings and the status of their relationship. As for the characters, I thought they started sweet and likable but in the end I wound up being annoyed with both of them. Not a bad read it just failed to click with me. This is my candid, elective review.

Tough path to love

This was such an emotional read, full of the trials of trying to move from friends to lovers. These two had so much love for each other, but in their gritty world, things felt beyond complicated, and fear really ruled them for a lot of the book. Communication was tricky for them, but there was character growth and healing and it gave me hope that they'd get things right. Thankfully, Jenika Snow didn't let me down, and love prevailed :)

Abe and Sophia were great together. I loved the longing but also the connection they both had. Even though Abe was a player and acted out Sophia stood by him and was the friend that he needed even though it hurt her. I loved the steam in this book too! There was lots of drama with these two but once Sophia finally made up her mind and Abe got his head on straight, these two were finally able to get their HEA that they both always dreamed of. I would recommend this book.
