I’m Sunny Shaw and, lately, trouble is my middle name.
Things are close to normal again when someone dumps a tiny box of kittens in my lap. I figure I’ll get them back to their mother and go about my business. No harm, no foul.
Except, I never expected to stumble over a body. Nor did I think a ten-year-old girl would be the only witness to the murder. Even worse? There’s a rare bird worth a fortune somehow mixed up in this mess.
Ruffling a few feathers is the least of my worries, especially since my goose might get cooked if I don’t hurry up and solve this case.
Come on, Jasper. We have kittens to take care of, a little girl to protect, and a killer on the loose. Surviving this one will take all of our smarts.
Twists and turns abound in this fun little mystery. There are so many devious plot threads to lead the reader astray, I had a difficult time picking the true villain. I think I changed my mind with every chapter. I ended up guessing correctly, but for all the wrong reasons. I love the humor Sunny and Tilly bring to all their adventures, and poor Jasper and Hitch along for the ride. I can’t wait until we get the opportunity to come back and do it all over again. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher.
"I hugged her back. This girl was a kindred spirit and more than anything, I didn’t want the police to interrogate her."
When Ron's barn houses a dead body, and a little girl may be the only clue to the who, what, where, when and why Andy was killed...or is she?
Leave it to Sunny Shaw and her cohorts to stumble along into yet another murder! And, although I figured out who the murderer was, the twists and turns to get to the end are what keeps you reading. We get a glimpse into Sunny's past and hints of what might come. And of course "Silly Tilly", Hitch and Jasper are along for the ride. I love Emmie Lyn, and as she settles into Shakes and Cakes, the author keeps us guessing. Highly Recommended 5/5
[disclaimer: I received this book from the publisher. I voluntarily chose to read and review it]
This is the 3rd book in the series. Sunny and Hitch are doing great business in there new shop Shakes and Cakes. It has smoothies cupcakes milkshakes, and plants and most of all kitties to let and take home if they find one they love. Izzy ( Sunny friend Jess 10 year old girl) has took 3 stray tabby kittens to Sunny so she could take them and give them homes in her shop. But Sunny wondered where she found them.Izzy was going over to a man' s Ron ( Jess ex boyfriend) house ( slash farm) and helping with his animals ( she had a gift that all animals took to her) Jess did not want Izzy to go there because she did not like a man Andy that was living there with him. ( Izzy got the kittens from Ron place ) Well Izzy was there she witnessed a murder of Andy. She was up in the loft hiding. She heard her mother Jess down there arguing with Ron one moment .( Izzy was hiding from her mom. ) But then Andy was there to Jess told others that she had words with Andy so she at first was a suspect. Andy was a photographer for a guy named Peter photiing birds for Peter book ( because Peter was into birds 🐦 he was an Author) They had a bird group and a lot of people were involved a new woman Michelle, Scott Peter, Ron, Liz. Ron had a rare bird now macaw named Little Blue and Sunny did not like the fact that he had that beautiful bird stuck in a small cage . But Ron assure her it was going to a sanctuary. So no one likes Andy in the bird club so they all had a motive to kill him. And Sunny Hitch and Tilly ( Sunny older neighbor and volunteer in their shop and And friend ) were trying to find someone besides Jess to focus on. Kick the mean cop was trying to dig in on his own accord to try to make his boss proud. This book I Love cause all these cute little kittens( and Jasper a Newfoundland dog of Sunny) that you can go to a shop and have fun playing with them and finding one you would like to take home. And mostly all the men is these books love the kitties. You know most men love big dogs. These are great reads.
This is another winning tale for the “Mint Chocolate Chip Mysteries” series. When ten-year-old Izzy presents Sunny a box of tiny kittens for the Kitty Jungle at her Shakes and Cakes shop, it seems like just another typical, crazy day in Pineville, Maine. But when Izzy takes Sunny to the location of the mother cat, they also find a body, with obvious signs of foul play - and Izzy was in the room when it happened.
I received a free copy of this book for my voluntary, honest review. In “Tabby Trouble” we get the local regulars, Sunny and Hitch, who co-own Shakes and Cakes and Sunny’s dog Jasper; Tilly, the eccentric neighbor who just happens to own her very own flock of plastic, pink flamingos (you wouldn’t think that would be useful in any scenario); Ruby, the owner of the doughnut shop; the grumpy Assistant Sheriff Mick, and a host of new locals. As Sunny, Hitch and Tilly realize the danger Izzy could be in, they team up to protect Izzy, but the identity of the murderer is a tough mystery to solve.
This is a well-written mystery and a fun read. I recommend it and look forward to more books in this series.
Everything starts with a young girl innocently trying to save a mama cat and her kittens from a friend's barn and overhearing a murder. When Sunny gets involved, she takes the girl under her wings and vows to protect her while figuring out just what happened in that barn in order to prove the girl's mother innocent. But things are not always what they seem and there are a lot of secrets that come out during the investigation. There are also relationships strengthening during everything that happens.
I have really enjoyed this series and this book is no exception. I love this book and think it's the best of the series so far. It's well-written with well-rounded characters, full of action and intrigue. There are a lot of twists and turns that will keep you on your toes. I was caught up in the story from the beginning and kept hooked until the end. I did receive an ARC of this book and am giving my honest review. I am now eager for book four to come out.
I really loved the characters in this cozy mystery. Izzy, the 10 year old animal lover who finds herself in the middle of a murder mystery with more intrigue and evil-doing than any small Maine town needs, the birders, Tilly, Hitch, Sunny and Jasper the dog are life like and interesting, each in their quirky way. The story is well written and engaging, providing just enough suspense and drama with regular comic relief thrown in to keep things from getting too heavy. Tabby Trouble is an enjoyable read with a familiar setting (it's the third book in the Mint Chocolate Chip Mystery series but also part of the Blueberry Bay shared "universe" that includes cozy mysteries featuring animals and unshakable female sleuths who unravel small town murder mysteries as a part of daily life) and a light-hearted tone.
I love this series. This is book 3 but can be read as a stand alone. Sunny is given a box of kittens that need their momma. Izzy knows where the momma is at and goes with Sunny to get her. While looking for the momma Sunny finds a body.Sunny knew right away that it was foul play and believes Izzy may have seen it happening while hiding out in the barn. Tilly comes and rescues Izzy from Officer Mitch, everyone is determine to protect Izzy. Relationships change and strengthens in this book while they figure out who killed Andy. Grab the book and see if you figure it out before they tell you. I receive complimentary books for review from publishers, publicists, and/or authors. I am not required to write positive reviews. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255.
I like this series. the mysteries are very good and inventive. The characters are wonderful, especially Tilly and the little girl Izzy.

Fantastic characters that kept me laughing and melted my heart! This story was so fun to read. I was pleasantly surprised with some reveals about characters and especially the murder. This is a clean book no gory details just a fun plot with suspects. This is the second book I’ve read by Emmie Lynn and she does not disappoint! The banter is fun and witty not to mention main characters that will keep you in stitches. It’s an added bonus with Jasper the dog and all the sweet kittens, your sure to be pleased with these wonderful mysteries! Was given a complimentary copy. All opinions are my own.
No rest from sleuthing for Sunny, innocent kittens lead her to the next mystery in need of her expertise. As usual there are a plethora of suspects for sifting and this one really has a few shocking twist. Sunny is so bold, unwisely so at times of her dangerous discoveries, but she gets a boost of bravo when she has the showdown with the true culprit that is so riveting. Love Hitch, he is ready but patient and respectful of her sleuthing.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
It all started with a box of kittens. Sunny could never resist kittens and these 3 needed their mother. What started out as a mission to find the mother cat turned into finding a body in the barn. With so many suspects and a 10 year old to protect along with running her shop Shakes and Cakes, Sunny has her hands full. With the help of Hitch, her business partner, and her neighbor Tilly, Sunny heads up a lively, sometimes funny, search for the killer. There’s even some heartwarming romance along the way. You won’t want to put this one down!
Tabby Trouble by Emmie Lyn is a cozy mystery that has it all - cats, kittens, dogs, kids, cupcakes, smoothies, a female amateur sleuth, a handsome boyfriend and a murder! What more could you ask for? I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. The plot and the characters are well developed. This is a great story to read anytime or anywhere. It will keep you guessing until the very end. I highly recommend this clean, clever mystery.
This is another fun mystery with Sunny, Hitch her boyfriend & Jasper the female dog. This time Sunny doesn't find the body first but a 10 yr old girl, Izzi. There are several twists & turns in this one that really surprised me & I never would have thought to put into a book. That's why I'm not an author. I love these books. Great Job!!! I received an ARC. This is my voluntary opinion.
This is a well written book that hooks you on the first page. It has just the right amount of drama to keep you turning the pages to see what happens next. Field and Delany's story was a wonderful read and I highly recommend it to everybody that likes christian historical romance. Thank you Pelican Book Group via NetGalley for the ARC copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Tabby Trouble really grabbed my attention. This is my favorite in the series so far. In addition to Sunny, Tilly, Hitch and the usual crew, add a rare blue bird, a precocious ten year old and a cardboard box of kittens. As always, there are many suspects with several possible motives. Ms. Lyn wraps up everything with her usual finesse! I could not put the book down.
Fantastic characters and plot that will kept reading until the end... A murder to solve... an inestimable bird... little kitten... and a mystery... Surprising iteractions among people... gossip.. new and old love... A story for all that love mystery...
I received a free copy from Sweet promise Press and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This is a good clean story. It is a mystery in Blueberry Bay in Pineville, Maine. Sunny Shaw is looking for clues along with her seventy year old neighbor Tilly Morris. A murder occured at a barn and a ten year old showed up with kittens. Ty Hitchner her business partner shows up to help solve the murder. I received an ARC of this book and I highly recommend reading this book.
Emmie Lyn has done it again. Tabby trouble is now my favorite in the Mint Chocolate Chip series. She has a way of bringing all her characters to life, I feel like I know Sunny and Jasper, the dog, Hitch and Tilly. They are all wonderful. If you love Kitties and a good mystery, please read this book. And as always there is wonderful wit.
These mysteries are so entertaining with each one bringing us a new animal into the mix. If you love mystery, animals and solving crimes then this series is the one for you. You don't have to start at the beginning but its so helpful to learn how it all started. Geab your copies today and be ready to enjoy each and every story you read.
Twists n turns at every corner of the house, barn, neighbors, trails, n more. Jasper is a sweetheart n the bond she gives Izzy is so special, makes you feel warm inside. I really enjoy reading these books of mystery, friendships, who done-it, I actually had the wrong person pegged for this murder. I look forward to more in this series
Another murder, tons of secrets, and flamingos. Tilly and those plastic flamingos, yet again! She cracks me up every time. I hope we get more of Izzy in the series. What an awesome character for a 10 year old. And things are going well with Sunny and Hitch. That’s a happy thing!
Sunny and Hitch have to protect a 10 yr old girl and her mother who has been accused of murder! Tilly is always around to keep the pot stirred. Officer Mike continues to be more of a hindrance than a helper. Shakes and Cakes continues to flourish. This is another cozy story which continues to entertain. Super series.
I really enjoyed Tabby Trouble. This is a fun and entertaining mystery. The book is well written and interesting. I love the characters. The mystery has many twists and turns that I was kept guessing until the very end. This is a great read!
I love this series by Emmie Lyn and I can't wait to see what happens next.If you're like me and love a great cozy with characters you will love and a story that keeps you turning the page then this series is a must read.
Such a fun read. Such great characters. Such cute kittens. Such a clever mystery. Such an entertaining read! There’s a lot of humor in there and that keeps the tone light-hearted, just as I like it!
This latest book in the series was as good as the others. I wasn't sure about the ending but was surprised. The book was quick to read and left me wanting more in the series. Looking forward to the next one.
Master leads the way again...lol. Of course, the people in the group think they are in charge, but She knows bettter. This series is a wonderful escape from reality with the setting stealing the show.
Too many legitimate suspects. And not many ways to narrow down the number. Might be someone gets themselves into dangerous situations. Also, Izzy is wonderful, love it when kids care so much for critters. <3
