Sadly, Pepper was not born a shifter. She dreams of being adopted (or mated) by one, but until such a glorious day arrives, she consoles herself by writing about shifters instead.
Either that, or she really IS a shifter and is just pretending NOT to be a shifter, to protect her people.
Whether the former or the latter is anyone's guess, but either way, she's living her absolute best possible shifter-life.
Ashlynn has been on the hunt for another phoenix and rumors bring her to Hotel Shenanigans. But instead of a phoenix, she finds dragons, amongst the fairies and other shifters. Zee and his family stepped into the earth realm in search of his nephew. He never expected to find his mate. But Ashlynn draws him in and wraps him in flames.
The Shenanigans series has been excellent and this book is a prime example of why. I loved Ashlynn and Zee's story and was totally captivated from beginning to end. The romance is sweet and the heat is real. I'm eager for the next book. I highly recommend both book and series which is best read in order.
