I hate social media. I hate marketing. But dang this was pretty good. It didn’t really teach me a lot, but it screwed my head on straight about how to (and how not to) use social media as a business. Quality info here.

An ideal guide for anyone new or wanting a refresh on how to market their products/services using social media. The book starts with defining your strategy before walking you through what you need to consider on many of the major platforms: facebook, instagram, X, tiktok, linkedin, etc. Even those who've done some marketing will benefit from this book so it's not just for newbies. The authors also rightly emphasise that the platforms are ever evolving so these aren't a 'learn once then done' but something to stay curious about.

One platform that isn't mentioned is Substack which is taking off amongst writers and those in the publishing business.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Beginners will find this guide welcoming rather than overwhelming. The author team covers the major platforms plus paid ads, influencers, and AI with an easy reading pace. It works well as a desk reference you'll revisit, though seasoned marketers may want more depth.
