Wow!! I needed a minute to truly absorb what the heck I just read. I enjoyed this story immensely. There were parts that left me a little squeamish, but the plot and the characters compelled me to continue reading and I'm so glad I did.

At the age of 16, Angel was taken and life as she knew it was over. No longer in control of even her body, she was turned into a sexual toy. The only light in the darkness was the man of darkness himself: Samael. He alone could spark a fire in her and she started to live for him. However, what they shared was forbidden and could get them killed. As their circumstances became more dire and sas they were unable to completely hide their feelings, Sam had to finally make a choice: keep giving in to his desires or make the greatest sacrifice in the name of love.

This story was dark, raw, gritty and oh so freaking sexy. With many elements of a BDSM lifestyle, Dani Rene wove a story that allowed me to see beauty amid the pain. She brilliantly captured the sexual and emotional evolution of the relationship between Angel and Sam. She also gave special hints with regards to the side characters which snagged my interest in continuing this series.

This is a pretty decent cover. A good representation of the heroine. Great composition. Interesting typography. I would have made the byline smaller and moved it a little higher up under the "C" and then moved it all down a bit. Overall though this is one of the better covers I have seen.


Sigh...this book had the potential to be right up my alley. Dark and twisted as f@ck and some parts were really really good (the last 50% earned the 3-Stars). Unfortunately, the constant time jumps (mostly in the first 50%) stopped me from totally enjoying this one. We would have a scene with Angel and Sam, and then it was one year later. Another scene and we jumped two years later. Another scene and we jumped three years later. Not to mention I found all these time jumps confusing as hell. Particularly in the beginning. I had no idea who was who. Who was talking to who etc.



So as you can see this one was a bit of a mixed bag. The good parts were REALLY REALLY good, and I did enjoy this one enough that I will read the next book in the series. That said I think the constant times jumps (especially in the first half of the book) and the confusion they caused really let this book down. Also, some parts were a little TOO much even for me. Her being raped and hurt badly by other men and him still fucking OW for the fist half of the book caused me to disconnect a bit with them as a couple. I also struggled with him as the (anti) hero allowing her to be continuously raped for years before doing something about.

So overall I am going to give this three stars mainly for the second half of the book. I do think this author is very talented and as I said there were many parts that I liked a lot. Readers of dark books will find this an enjoyable read. Just make sure you heed those trigger warnings.

If you want a dark, erotic and steamy read then Samael & Angel are for you! Holy smokes this book was intense and captured me from the first few lines. I had tears in my eyes more often then not throughout their story and at the same time goosebumps across my skin from the excitement. Angel was brought to the house so that Samael can train, break and groom her for every kind of activity imaginable by anyone and everyone who chooses to have her. Samael is known to break the spirits of those he trains but Angel is unlike the others, yes he craves the pain and darker side of things but Angel gets under his skin and just keeps moving deeper and deeper in. As much as you want to loathe Samael for what he continues to do and allows you can't, it's just not possible. We see this beautiful man through it all and you just fall for him. Angel breaks time and time again yet at the same time she gets stronger, it's truly beautiful. I love like how we were able to get the point of view from both Angel and Samael throughout the book, it just makes you feel even more connected to both of them and feel exactly where they're coming from. Dani has written one helluva story and I cannot wait for more, YOU WILL CRAVE FOR MORE. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

This book was amazing and very, very emotional. I can't even imagine the thought process that went into the writing of Crave. Parts of this book are very distressful and highly disturbing. It is not for the faint of heart. There are many situations in this book that may cause triggers. Personally, I am not susceptible to triggers but I admit to feeling stressed at times. That said, the author does promise that there is 'light' to the 'dark.' Thank God!

Angel and Samuel.......

It is a tragedy what Angel endured in this book. She lost her innocence, physically and emotionally in the most horrific and abusive ways. (I bet you're curious right now as to what I mean) For all she lost, Angel also gained something precious. Love and passion. Pleasure and pain. Pain that she craved.

Samael was a dark and disturbing character. He was a dark man, emotionally and did the things he did as a result of that. Once you read this book and understand everything that is going on, you may just fall in love with him.

For obvious reasons, I didn't connect 100% to the characters or the story. Still, I was fully engaged and was cheering on Sam and Angel to the very end. They both, for very different reasons, deserved a happily ever after. Unfortunately it was something that came easy or without sacrifice.

I won't say much more in the way of details. This book epitomizes angst and darkness. But where there is despair and misery, there is also light and hope. Angel is appropriately named for the love and faith her character brings to the story. Angel is the true hero.

Once more, I need to say how impressed I am by this author. Crave could not have been an easy book to write. Dani Rene crossed boundaries of taboo and the forbidden. Things we don't usually see or even hear about. If you are a fan of dark romance you will devour this work of art. And even if you aren't, you will still be amazed by this book. By the passion and intensity brought fourth by the words of this amazing author, Dani Rene.

I'll leave you with this......there is most definitely a satisfying and happy ending!!!

If you're a fan of a dark erotic romance read, then Crave needs to be on your #MustRead list.

It's the kind of read that keeps breaking your heart; and putting it back together, long after you've read the last page.

It will grab you fast and it will hold you hostage while it runs you through so many deep emotions I'm not even going to try and name them.

The dichotomy of Samael & Angel is breathtaking. The beauty that exists in their relationships, (the plural is intentional, not a typo) and in their undeniable bond is incredible. You feel it in the words on the page, and at times those words are far from easy to swallow.

Sam is just so broken, dark and lost that his light has almost been extinguished. Every time he was on the page I held my breath. I couldn't decide if I should fear him, love him, hate him or try to fix him.

Angel, who should have been able to shine brighter than the sun, is thrust into darkness so suffocating, it could turn her soul black. There were times I wanted to look away, but if Angel had the strength to endure, I could sure as hell fight with her.

Despite the fact these two are surrounded only by ugliness and depravity, they manage to find something they both desperately need, and only the other can provide. That in itself is miraculous. Now, be warned: it's not pretty, it's not traditional and it's certainly not for everyone - but it's so completely and perfectly them.
Oh, and it's also hot AF.

It's so intense!!

I just finished reading this book, and it was sooo good, and so intense! It's part of a series, with one novella also published that you don't need to have read first since they're not included in the novella. This is like the novella, in that it is a dark read, but so worth it!

This story centers on Sam and Angel. Sam comes from a family of doms that trains girls in pain and pleasure, and that is where much of the darkness im this story comes from. The situation in which Sam and Angel meet is unfortunate, especially the circumstances which bring Angel to Sam, but within that darkness, there is light. Angel is a bright, masochistic light that shines for Sam, and she is determined to never lose herself or her soul while being forced to do what she does with horrible men. Sam is her always protective teacher and tormentor, and it's quite the complex relationship between them because of it. A big part of their relationship comes from the dynamic between them, as dom and sub. And it's beautiful to watch as you see snippets over their time together.

Overall, I really enjoyed the book. It's dark, and definitely is not for the faint of heart if you don't like seeing young girls forced into roles they shouldn't take. If you love the dynamic between a dom and sub, then you'll really enjoy this one. The book is paced well and well-written, with few grammar mistakes. It drew me from the start, and I didn't want to put it down. It compels you to want to know how and if Sam and Angel can make it out the hell they're in together, and if love is more powerful.

If you haven't read Crave By: Dani Renè what are you doing with your life?! I was lucky enough to read an ARC of this twisted, dark && gut wrenching book.

Crave is a book that is so much more than darkness, it's layers, Layers of feelings, raw torrid emotions, realizations && breaking free! Sam may be dark but there is so much light wanting to break free so don't write him off just yet! && Angel so broken almost fragile yet so strong she had me from the start!

Crave is by no means unicorns and fairies kind of read ( stay away if you want the unicorns) It's messy unhinged, torrid but beautiful.

The words that flow through begging off chapter are Dani's personal poems they fit so perfectly into this book she did an amazing job capturing Sam && Angels emotions

I'll say this again this book is not unicorns and fairies! You have to be able to see past the darkness into the light! You have to read with an open mind something's you may agree with some not && that's ok.

If you are into dark romance then this book is for you.
When you enjoy reading a book by an author, you just expect great work and then they will write something that blows you away. Dani has blown me away with this book. It is just the right amount of dark that will have you in tears more times that you will admit but when the romance comes, boy is it worth it. Sam and Angel's story is heartbreakingly beautiful. Dani is going to rip your heart out, stomp all over it repeatedly then shove it back in your chest and make you love every second of it. To say that I am addicted to this book would be an understatement and I cannot wait for more in this series. This is not your average smutty read, this is dark and dirty and will make you question everything you know about sex. Samael is known to break the spirits of girls who come into this business, one meeting with Angel and could this change things? Angel is the product of things that she had no say in, and some very bad things happen to her but will she make it with her body and mind still intact? Make sure to throw away the knickers, get a gallon of ice cream, a box of tissues and enjoy.

If you love dark romances that are utterly entrancing and that will leave you speechless, this is definitely a book for you. From the very first chapter, I was captivated by the storyline. René has the talent of making us fall for and root for a very complex character who would ordinarily be defined as the villain, which is not an easy feat.

I was a big fan of the unique formatting of the novel. Each "Part" of the book began with an eery foreshadowing poem. I think René has turned me into a dark poetry lover. Can you write a poetry book? I would totally read it. I also enjoyed the double narrative; seeing the story from both perspectives. The chronology of the book was also great, going back and forth through memories, and skipping forward into time to keep the read concise and concentrated. The memories help fill in the gaps in the narrative by only giving you the essential. There was absolutely no fluff to this book, for which I am thankful.

Lastly, Angel and Samael's relationship is not conventional in any way, but their light and darkness create an electric chemistry which is enchanting. It is definitely not a fairytale, but it is unbelievably raw and honest. One cannot deny their complex feelings for one another.

I am unbelievably happy to have read this book, and look forward to reading more from this author.

I received an ARC of this book in a giveaway and can I say this is one of the best dark romances I have read. This is Samael and Freya's story or Angel as he calls her. Their story won't be for everyone but if you like them dark, steamy and so full of soul destroying love then this is the book for you. Light and dark need each other to survive and without one the other does not exist and this story shows us how true that is. This story broke me but in such a good way. Can't wait for the next book in this series. Hands down an amazing five star read.

If you know anything about me as an author or as a reader, you know I thrive off of a good Hardcore Dark Romance. I live off of the deprivation, the gore, and the horror that keeps most sane individuals up at night. But I'm not sane. And neither is Dani Rene, and I thank the Lord for it. This book was sheer PERFECTION to the nth degree. I cringed, I rallied, and I fucking lived for every chapter, every sentence and every fucking word. This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions and timelines, and I could not WAIT until I got to the next page to see where and with whom I would end up.

Angel was the perfect submissive, the perfect slave and the perfect amount of light to cover our Hero, Sam. She was strong when she needed to be and weak when she didn't have any other choice. She was fierce and tame and the perfect combination of everything in between.

Sam----fuck me-----Samael, you hunky, sexy, piece of "whip me till i'm bleeding" man-meat. I would do dirty, nasty thing to you... and then I'd let you do them to me.

I don't know why this story sat on my TBR for so long, I didn't know what I was missing!
Sam and Freya's story is emotionally raw and filled with heart wrenching moments. This couple represents a twisted and macabre rendition of Romeo and Juliet, add to that the circumstances of where they meet, the conditions of their relationship, and you will find yourself in a story where only nightmares live.
Dani Rene is a queen in this realm of authordom, her words and her soul are splayed across every page, every chapter, and her readers fall under her spell, remaining captivated and invested until the end.

What a hot erotic heart wrenching story. It’s very dark in nature, if you have triggers please take care before reading, but it’s an amazing story that is so worth reading til the very last word. The story is wonderfully written and encompasses many emotions: love, hate, greed, hopelessness, power and many others. It will take you an a gripping journey that will captivate you and keep you glued to the pages.

Sam is not a nice man. His father has molded him to take over the monstrous world that has been in their family for generations. Angel was taken at the age of 16 and molded to pleasure men. At age 18 she was thrust into Sam’s world but even as damaged as Angel was Sam felt her light, her inner strength and knew she was special. He wanted nothing more than to protect her, but his father would kill them both at the drop of a hat and never look back if Sam tried to help her in any way. Sam’s hands were tied. So what’s in store for them? Can they live with what they have become or with the things they both must do to survive the dark world they are living in?

Kudos to Ms. René for an awesome read. A story that tore my heart to shreds at times but was so worth reading to the very end. I honestly can’t recommend it enough and I look forward to many more to come from this series. 2 Thumbs Up!!!!!

WOW! In general I am not one to gravitate towards a dark romance but this book converted me. Dani did a beautiful job of creating this dark and twist world where love is not all heart and flowers but so so intense. The connection between Samael and Angel is a burning inferno throughout. Crave will have you questioning your sanity because you will be on board with some things you might not have thought possible. Sam is so twisted and messed up in the head that he has a hard time dealing with everything his is feeling and that gives the story a serious depth that I cant fully explain. you just have to read it to understand.

Go ahead and take the leap. I don't think there are exactly words to explain Crave, you just have to read and experience it for your self! The darkness is fun and dangerous and you will not regret it. I love this story and its characters. It has broadened my every day genres of books and I couldn’t be happier about it. Crave is intense, steamy and will keep you on your toes eagerly flipping to the next page.

I was unable to put it down and I still haven’t gotten over how beautiful dark it was. I love this book! I love this author! Can’t wait to see what is to come for the series as well as the author!

Crave is the story of Angel (Freya) who is kidnapped and enslaved at the age of 16. She is to be trained in the ways of a willing submissive to any vice/kink/fetish/vile crap that any man could ever want. She undergoes two years of training with one handler to be ready to be handed over to her new handler for advanced training. Enter Samuel, her second trainer. Angel, as he has named her, is light to his dark. He is known as the Grim Reaper for snuffing out the souls of the girls and enjoys their pain but try as he might, Angel is different and her light cannot be extinguished and Sam doesn't want to extinguish it. Instead, they are two opposites who fit together perfectly.

That doesn't save Angel from graduating training and being thoroughly and utterly abused though. Sam's father owns the elite and underground club, Caged, where women are brought out every night and used in whatever way the patrons want no matter how violent or taboo. I was glad they didn't go into heavy detail regarding what was happening to her in those scenes, the general gist was there and I don't really want to read about the scum of the earth sexually torturing and laughing their asses off with great detail to what they're doing. But what she goes through sucks, big time. Samuel is finding it harder and harder to let her continue working but is under big daddy's thumb who happens to be the worse prick of all. As the star crossed lovers all but admit they are in love with each other it becomes a question of what will Sam do to preserve the light left in Angel? What will he risk? Can he stand to see that which he covets go up night after night to other men who are sick fucks? And if he were to get her out, how would he escape his father's iron grip and insure both their safety? Therein lies the story in it's total.

Angel was spunky and awesome. Sam became a human for the first time in his life. The side characters rooting for them were likable too. But after having read so many dark reads, I didn't feel the suspense play out as well or as fully as in other books in the genre and the climax basically felt anticlimactic. A little more drawn out and a little more of the father's actual presence sniffing around would've heightened it much more. Still, a new dark read with a worthy heroine and a redeemed anti-hero. -- worth a read when nothing else is on your list to go to.

The first full length novel in this dark and sinful series....this was an enthralling read...I loved every twisted element and erotic moment but be warned this was not a book for the faint of heart....

Told from the dual point of view of the two protagonists the story was fast paced, edgy and utterly addictive.... The characters were bestowed with such depth and the relationships between all of them whether lover, friend or monster were completely engrossing and believable...

The further I delve into the series the more I become intrigued, by the depraved world that has moulded the Wolfe family members, and invested in their salvation through the emotional connections they discover in the darkest of places......I am already desperately craving the next in the series....I received a copy of this book as an ARC from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review...

this is my second book by Dani Rene, and now I can say that am HOOKED! She is so poetic and expressive I was captivated!

This book is a dark and dirty story that some may be disturbed by. The raw emotion and attraction that drew Sam and Angel in could not be denied or torn apart by anyone or anything. Sam is a bad wolf but he's also a good man that fights for what belongs to him, his Angel. When words can't express their feelings or emotions, music say what they are unable to. The playlist will take you there...and if it doesn't!

Wow wow wow!!! This story is EVERYTHING I want in a story and more. I FLOVE dark reads and this book was DARK.

Dani is one of my favourite authors and I love her mind it truly intrigues me. I never know where her mind will lead us too but I know I will never be disappointed and this book was the exact same. The way she written she complex characters was truly wonderful. Angel was one of the most strongest, bravest heroines Dani was written so far. I was simply in awe of her strength throughout this story. Then there is MY Sam ohhh he is just beautiful and hot. He is simply my favourite alpha Dani was written by far.

I don't want to go into any deal of this wonderful story as I'm firm believer in no spoilers.

Oh I'm so glad I started reading this series! This is a dark book, dealing with a couple under very strange circumstances. They're not meant to like each other. But, damn, the chemistry is there, and it is explosive. Dani built a messed up world that I was immediately invested in. I rooted for the main characters to find their peace.

What to say—this was an intense and very dark read. If you’re looking for a pitch-black book without complex storytelling and plot, here you go.

I enjoyed how it started and how dark and unhinged it became as the story progressed. Samael is the typical morally (very) grey MMC who falls hard for his captive. He’s so deep in denial that he refuses to address her by her real name.

Angel, true to her nickname, is a sweetheart with a terrible past, forced to face an even worse fate. Sold as a s&x s!ave by her parents to repay her father’s debts, she inevitably falls even harder for Sam, setting off a chain of events that (hopefully) lead to their happy ending.

The book delivers on its promises: it’s dark, unhinged, and without censorship or boundaries. It was quite hard to follow at times due to the unclear time jumps, especially in the audiobook version.

Wow! If you want a dark, intense and emotional read then this is for you! Dani BLEW ME AWAY! I was hooked and on the edge of my seat the whole time I was readng this amazing story. I cried and I was in knots but I was also happy and swooning at times. I experienced every kind of emotion possible.
Samael's world is dark and full of pain. He has never had much love in his life but when he sees her he knows his heart is in trouble.
Angel is a strong beautiful young woman who has lived a life of hell for years. When she meets the man who's going to train her instead of feeling fear she feels something she can't explain.
Samael's job is to break Angel little by little until she will obey and submit to him and any other man. The more pain Samael gives Angel the more she craves it.
Samael knows he has a job to do but at the same time he's trying to fight his feelings for Angel and protect her at the same time without being exposed by his Father. This story has so many twist and turns it will keep you guessing and craving for more!
Dani did a wonderful job writing these characters. Samael is so dark and Angel is so damaged but yet so strong. Their relationship is dark and full of heartache and pain but can their love and passion makes the darkness turn to light.

Dani what have you done to me! You have ruined me for good. The wait was so worth it.Dani I am in love with your work! Hot damn,forget Kindle, I exploded while reading this book! Talk about getting down and dirty. Dani takes it to another level. If you enjoy Dark romance this book is a must read for you. And even if it isn't you gotta read this book! This book made me cry, laugh and had me squirming right from the first page! Words cannot do justice to how amazing the journey was! I may or may not have read the book thrice. I mean it's Samael- that's reason enough.Samael and Angel are such intense characters you cannot help but fall in love with them. I Flove the book and the characters. The scenes were gritty, raw and intense. Be warned this book once opened will hook it's claws so deep in you and trust me you will enjoy the pain.

If your looking for the warm and fuzzy fairy tale- turn around and keep looking!
**TRIGGER WARNING**

Crave is DARK, GRITTY, and WHOA full of surprises. (some good, some not so good) Sam and Angel are anything but innocent, but they go through a lot, especially Angel. Angel is so strong and unwavering... you will have a lot of emotions reading this book. I found myself (who LOVES dark books) having some doubts on a HEA for these characters. But I wasn't able to put it down, and ended up demolishing this book in a day. This is the first book I have read by Dani Rene, and I must say the story line had me hooked. The only thing I will say is that I felt it could have been longer/more detailed. It started out full of detail, but the ending was maybe a little rushed. This book is not for the lighthearted reader, but if you are looking for something dark and sinful look no further! Cant wait for book 2 to come out!

Dark and Delicious

This book will take you on an emotional and intense rollercoaster. It's darker than what I'm used to by Dani but I absolutely loved it!! I don't like to read the same stuff all the time so that's what makes me love her writing. She mixes it up and keeps you guessing what's next. The dual pov is also a favorite because I like to get in the minds of all the characters involved.

Samael and Angel's story is gut wrenching but it's also beautiful. You'll definitely want to push through all the darkness and bad times to see if love can survive!

Sinfully dark

This is a book for lovers of dark romance. As a reader, I was torn between who/ what to hate and constantly found myself switching back and forth. Both main characters are strong in their own sense and their wills are constantly being tested.
The only thing that was a little confusing at first was the time of which the story was written. There is a lot of back and forth between the past and present and I found myself stumbling over that in the beginning. The author does use italics to differentiate, it was purely reader error.
This is book 1 in a series of about 5. According to the authors notes, they will all be stand-alone novels.

I opened this book without knowing a thing about it - and I'm so glad I didn't! This was a dark, gritty tale of a man who trains, breaks and grooms women to be sexual slaves, and the woman who gets under his skin. My eyes were bugging out of my head wondering if Dani Rene was really going to "go" there. Spoiler alert: She does!!! It was raw, emotional, angsty - and yet- it was sweet and heartfelt. I can only imagine the amounts of coffee and tissues the author must have gone through when writing these scenes!!! Cheers to Dani Rene for her gorgeous writing. This was an intoxicating read!
