Are you tired of following your feelings or being disappointed by unchanging circumstances?
In this forty-day devotional journey, women will learn how to surrender like Jesus and experience God’s power and peace in their life as never before! Inspired by Jesus’s forty days in the wilderness, the devotions are divided into four
1. Letting Go of Circumstances 2. Letting Go of Others 3. Letting Go of Expectations 4. Living Like Jesus
Each devotion features a Scripture, a big idea, a biblical or personal story, a letting go principle, and personal reflection and application questions. Women can practice letting go as they draw closer to Jesus than ever before.

This author had been recommended to me but I really knew little about her. I did a little research and decided she came from a sound theological background. Of all of her studies and devotionals, this topic stood out the most to me personally. Control seems like a singular problem but the way Barb breaks it down into the different facets was great. It helped clarify some things that were muddied in my mind because I didn't like the idea of surrendering "everything". The layout of of each day was nice, not too long or too short. Scripture, devotional, a principle, and a prayer. I have now purchased the Bible study that this devotional is based off of and will likely redo the 40 day devotional. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
I love this book because it helped me to become aware of places in my life where I was not surrendering control to God, but trying to manipulate matters so that they worked out the way I wanted. Instead of trusting God and his ways, I was trying to force my ways which can be very stressful and frustrating. You are always more at peace when you’re walking closely with God and putting him in charge.
