It's a good story, but it's not an exciting read if you don't know your taste. It's heavily focused on the couple's slow development in an intimate and emotional way. The pace is slice-of-life with a drama that never reaches a heavy angst, and there are many chapters that only focus on small changes that we see the impact only on the characters' future. However, the protagonists are very likeable and emotionally complex. It's quite clear that the author took care to bring a careful and pleasant representation of the autistic spectrum as well. The relationship between the couple is slow, cute and healthy, but it really isn't attractive to watch without a strong attachment to the characters. Which can be a difficulty if you go with the expectations that the synopsis and many recommendations produce about a supposed darkness in the story and its male protagonist 👀.
Note for those who want to read: The novel has yandere tags on the male protagonist, but there's really nothing dark about the character. His possessive nature is the only one that can be seen, but it is worked in a context of insecurity and trauma. From what I've read, nothing in the story will appeal to those who really like a slightly dark romantic story, only those who really like sweet things. So read it making sure you like young and pure loveヽ(´ー` )┌ .
Gostei bastante.
This was so good! I loved both of the characters' growth and how they're constantly trying to be better for each other and always trying to help each other.
I haven't read many webnovels that focus on both mental illness and physical disabilities, but this one handled Tan Mo's depression, Asperger syndrome, crippled legs, inferiority complex, and anxiety SO WELL. Qiao Lan met Tan Mo at his worst, and it's incredibly sad and heartwarming seeing him regaining hope and wanting to become better.
Qiao Lan's growth was also portrayed really well. She was already confident and decisive, but watching her feelings grow from pity to love and not being confident in her feelings because of this was so refreshing to read about. Watching her learning how to be better for Tan Mo and handling their relationship was so sweet and funny at times.
This wasn't an insta-love but was a slow progression of trust and friendship that lead to more feelings after so much communication and understanding. If you liked My Husband With Scholar Syndrome, you will probably like this book.
One of the best Chinese novel I have ever read! This book introduce & expose to me more about mental illness: Asperger’s Syndrome. I never knew about it and now I’m already expose much of it because the ml was born with it. The author really tells in details about this mental illness in so much positivity & different point of view about mental health’s stigma. Also the love story between ml & fl is full of warmth and make me have another point of view about their unique love. So saddening it’s already over :(
Here you can find many delicate emotions with which you will be guided though the life of two people, our main couple. It can be a little difficult to take psychologically, but really worth it. There is no s*upid dog-blood drama, all the events are there for a reason and help us to understand the characters and their growth. It’s like going though this whole life with them. The world is quite realistic, the same goes for the characters too.
There is a lot of discrimination, prejudging and even people would. And here we have our tragic ML and MC finding a light in their life as they meet.
The story is really touching. It made me think though many things in my life and that’s also what I’m thankful for.
I mostly never have this big sense of fulfillment after reading a book, but here I really have it. It’s a very deep and delicate book, that I totally recommend you to try. I will totally reread it again when I’m depressed.
