From the outside, it looks as though Cooper Knight has the world at his feet. Great job, money in the bank, and all the men and women he could want, but as the old saying goes, looks can be deceiving. What he doesn’t show is that he had his heart broken years ago, and he’s never recovered. So now, he thinks it's easier to be alone, to play the field, than to risk all that again. Except that there is a ripple forming in his perfectly constructed life, and that ripple is called Knox.
Knox Cunningham is struggling to keep his life in order. A new town and a new job, but there is still the worry that his best friend's past will catch up with them. He just wants to find something to help him forget, something to help him leave all the worry behind. The only problem is after being turned down by Cooper, Knox follows a path that can lead to harm.
That’s when Cooper has to step in, and it becomes harder to ignore the feelings that Knox stirs up inside him. He tries to fight them, tries to keep Knox at a distance, but he isn't as in control as he thinks he is. Knox makes him want things he has spent years hiding from, and when Knox pushes him, making him face his past and his feelings, Cooper finally admits that he wants Knox. He wants to control him. He wants to make him his.
He finally admits... he wants that Beautiful Surrender.
After being married for ten years and raising three beautiful kids I decided it was time to do something for myself. My passion for reading bled over with a need to tell the story that was repeating in my head and that was the birth of my first book. The rest they say is history.
I love the creative release that writing gives you, being able to take someone away to a different world feels amazing. As a reader I know how important that escape is, and as a writer I love to be able to give people that.
My other loves include music and reading (in case I haven't mentioned that before) and then when I have time a little more reading. I think if I could read for a living I would, but since I can't I will continue on the writing side of things.
Coop and Knox were featured in book 1 so it's great that we have their story. Knox is trying to keep his head about water and look after his friend and one of the way of doing that is to work for Coop's company. Coop wants to stay away for two reasons, one no romance at work and two no guys. The book digs into his past as you discover why a Bi man has closed down one side of himself and happily collides his past with his future. I loved the pull against his own emotions. He blew hot and cold so much that Knox almost had whiplash. It's an emotive read and a great follow up in the Blue Lights series. My only little niggle was Knox's best friend Ross - he made me want to throw him outside of the room he was 'hiding in' because he did something so stupid, without any thought about repercussions. Tracey's currently refusing to kill him off, but it has a vote from me!
You know I was skeptical to read this story because of the BDSM … but wow! I would have been missing on amazing piece of art! This story is so beautiful I cried a few times and I laughed, the guys in the tattoo shop are so hilarious I love it! Amazing. A must have book!
What can I say? Another great story in the Blue Lights series. It follows Cooper and Knox as the former fights his attraction to the latter. It’s slow burn and it’s hot!
