Back in the early 2000s, when the dot-com bubble burst, before the days of YouTube, there was a recently laid-off man making flash animations with all his new free time. These animations featured advice on what to do now that you too had been laid-off (or had no job to start with). This was Odd Todd.

Here we have the print version of these flash animations (minus the epic Flash Gordon episode, which was my favorite, and is surely missing due to copyright). Follow Todd through his day of doing nothing, from the time he wakes up in the morning to the time he goes to bed and is pestered by the nagging negative thoughts of Yapper into the wee hours of the next morning. You'll learn

-How to deal with having little to no mon-ay
-The joys of coff-ay
-The best ways to nap
-What to do when you find yourself inevitably outside
-And oh, so much more!

This is probably the third time I've read through this book over the years, and I always find it enjoyable.

I consider this book one of the best books I have ever read. It is a fun full day of things to do while you are unemployed and have no "Monay."

I discovered the website OddTodd.com while reading another ("Bitter is the New Black: Confessions of a condescending, egomaniacal, self-centered Smart-ass, or Why you should never carry a Prada Bag to the unemployment office") book before ...

Oddly enough I got both books, while unemployeed :)

I highly suggest you visit his website and watch the cartoons before getting the book though.

If you know me, and you're on the internet, then I've tried to show you the cartoons at http://www.oddtodd.com/. They've been a welcome comfort to me over the last few years of unreliable employment. Well, Todd wrote a book, and darned if I wasn't going to buy it, as a "thank you" for the cartoons, if nothing else. This book isn't quite as funny as the website, but it's pretty close. I especially liked the list of prank calls you can make to your friends who are still employed, such as "Jeez, man, where the hell are you? We've been waiting fifteen minutes in the conference room!"
