Save Australia, Save the World. Three weeks after the outbreak, most nations have collapsed. An ever-increasing number of refugees flee, by boat and air, to the perceived safety of the remote Pacific nations. In Australia, every able body is conscripted, local and newcomer alike. The lucky few are put to work in the new factories, farms, and mines. The unlucky many are given tools for weapons, put aboard cruise-ships and cargo freighters, and returned to the ever-moving frontline. But even though the death toll rises, victory is still within reach. The recordings made in North America by Pete and Corrie Guinn contained more than the siblings realised. The footage from Canada and Michigan is further confirmation the outbreak was no accident. The Canadian scientist, Dr Avalon, can prove it. As Commissioner Tess Qwong takes justice to the increasingly lawless outback, Anna Dodson brings order to the chaos of Parliament House, and Dr Avalon works on a weapon to finally destroy the undead. But no plans can survive the impact of a nuclear bomb. From a lawless natural gas refinery in Queensland to the once golden coast of New South Wales. Behind the barricaded streets of Canberra and in the bunker beneath Parliament House, there is still hope for Australia, the Pacific, the world, as long as the lights remain on.
A return to the early days of the outbreak, which might throw the reader familiar with the series at first! Great to see the initial response and optimism, even as you know of the impending doom that is to come, the links to the British “vaccine” and the nuclear exchanges. Keen to see how it plays out for this set of characters, though suspect their current naivety means it does not play out well for them. A strong addition to the series, that helps fill in some of the gaps of what is happening in the rest of the world.
Love the way there are so many avenues to this series and how they link together. Post apocalyptic zombie/nuclear/drug cartel story that keeps you on the edge of your seat. More needed please!
After a confusing start, this got better as it went on with a gripping final third. It took me far longer to understand where we were in the timeline than it should have done and now I'm part-fascinated with the idea that as we accelerate through this thread of the universe, we may just find out where it is Bill has planned for the final home of our original merry band of survivors.......
Had to be five stars again as the author weaves the story in a different direction, keeping us glued to its twists and turns. Superb writing as always some great characters and the benefit of the ever present "Cartel" in the background, keeping the threat levels elevated. Looking forward to the next book. Please write a bit faster😉😉
I have read all of this trilogy and very much enjoyed the journey but this one was hard to follow I found too many characters hard to keep track of who was who. The series was great but maybe it's run its course now and its time for something different, keep up the writing but maybe a new direction thanks
Australia in turmoil and anarchy, feral zombies on killing sprees and infecting others are the least of problems with nuclear weapons exploding elsewhere.
It's well written in English English and it's a well constructed story about survival in troubled times. An interesting read, and I shall certainly read the others in the series.
Superb continuation of a very gripping story. Every new part of the story has me rushing to read it and find out what is happening. Then when i've finished i remember i now have to wait for the next book to be released 😕

Struggling to maintain order while coping with the zombies Australia seems to be faring much better than the rest of the world - until masive nuclear detonations in the Pacific create a tsunami and swamp much of the floating relief effort as well as coastal areas and whole island nations.
The protagonist here is (now Deputy Commisioner) Tess who is tasked with delivering arrest warrants to poorly performing managers of vital resources. During this process she rescues a party of schoolchildren lost on their way to an evacuation centre and then finds evidence suggsting that a coup is brewing back in Canberra Anna Dodson finds herself at the centre of that coup...
These recent volumes are longer than those in the main sequence and cover a lot more ground (both literally and figuratively). The protagonist is Tess, with a supporting cast including Anna and her pilot/medic father and the group of conscripts she has acquired tecently - plus the pair of scientists from Canada who are working out just what caused the outbreak ('Not a virus... ') and a possible weapon against the zombies (and a test for immunity that has rather limited value, all in all). An excellent continuation.
This is the third volume in the Life Goes On series, a companion to the Surviving the Evacuation books.
The story is once again set in Australia, from the lawless outback to Parliament House in Canberra. As the developing worldwide situation becomes apparent, Australia no longer seems to be the safe haven it was hoped to be. With nuclear detonations in the pacific, increasing numbers of undead and the corrupting influence of the Cartel, the main protagonist Commissioner Tess Qwang uncovers a number of murders and a sinister plot.
Another good instalment in this series that cleverly always leaves you wanting to know what happens next.
If you like post apocalyptic literature but hate books that have people being shot on every page, you’ll love Frank Tayell’s books. Great stories, lots of action but tempered by believable characters.
I love this series. I enjoy that we get to see the the events unfold in p!aces other than Europe yet they all tie in together. I have read everything from the European & American point of view, This is a nice addition to the into that side of the series
Among the bevy of zombie apocalypse tales on bookshelves, Frank Tayell's Evacuation series are as far-fetched and incredulous as any. However that doesn't stop his books being impossible to put down - they get me in!
A refreshing trip back to the beginning of the outbreak. This edition had the pace that the last couple of books were lacking. No logistics for the long term future, the characters were just trying to survive the day. Great read!
Really enjoyed this one. Love the series, but this book felt the most like a novel, great story running throughout, with the wider situation becoming even larger and more intriguing. More more more please.
I thought this book had a good mix of zombies and adventure. It pulled together some of the outstanding story lines from the other books in the series, and I enjoyed reading it.
DNF I got lost somewhere and haven't made any progress on this in months. I have a plan to read the whole series in one long shot next year, so I'll pick it up then.
