Pleasantly surprised by this free audible read! I started it driving home from a particularly challenging work presentation, and I think it changed my brain chemistry in the days that followed as I reflected. I didn’t find the content repetitive and if anything it really drove home key points. I recommend to anyone looking to ingrate these teachings into their every day life and looking for a digestible introduction.
Chapters 1-5 (I.e. majority of this book): Your happiness and distress is a consequence of your mind, which you can control. (Reiterated many, many different ways to the point of irritation.)
Final 1/5th of a very short book: Mindfulness, Awareness, and Gratitude are critical levers to calming your emotions. Although these are great points, the ideas are only explained briefly in a few sentences.
How to use Stoicism is a good jumping off point book for the topics contained, but you are better off reading other books more directly than this diluted second hand content.
