Feeling like her marriage is done, Nautica slowly starts giving up. Her husband, Psalm, finds himself in her line of fire almost daily. Constantly, the two bicker and argue, rehashing old hurts, which leads them to make decisions they think they can’t come back from. Reluctantly, Nautica accepts an opportunity for them to come back from what she believes is a place of no return. On a whim, Nautica and Psalm are whisked away for five days and given a chance and the space to fix what they’ve deemed broken. Will they allow themselves a chance to love past the pain, or is it too late for their relationship to be reignited?
Now, this is how you write a book about marital problems! Reignited was so good! My heart just broke for Nautica and Psalm. They are having some serious marital problems that have them on the verge of divorce. But, even with all the hurt and anger, the love Nautica and Psalm have for one another just radiates. I love how the author took us on a journey of this couple's past so, we could see how they met and learn about other issues they endured over the course of their relationship. Reignited was a cute short read. You can't help but fall in love with Nautica and Psalm and root for them. This was my first book by Cherish Amore and it did not disappoint. I look forward to reading more from her.
Talk about getting in their own way...Psalm and Nautica...my goodness. I am glad that authors are talking about the "life after" the normal romance HEA. Marriage, while beautiful, is work! It takes a lot to remain committed and in love and even through difficult seasons there is hope. This author took us through it but love prevailed! Great read!
Nautica and Psalm's struggle was a tear jerker. So realistic and easy to understand. I love second chances romances! This one definitely pulled on my heartstrings. There were road bumps but in the end these two shattered souls reignited with a strong sense of love, renewed passion and hope. Absolutely loved this story!
Nautica and Psalm were the perfect example of what happens when you just let things fester and don't talk about your problems. Blame gets passed around, then you stop talking altogether, you stop touching, stop showing affection then--nothing-- but you can't understand how you got past the point of no return in your marriage. I loved that Nautica's sister, Na'Shay rode so hard for this couple. Like, she really looked out for them and fought for them since day one. No surprise that the retreat was her idea. She was literally the "Best Sister Ever!"
I wasn't sure they were gonna make it because Nautica had me side-eying her when they pulled up to the retreat. Like why she ask Psalm to come to the retreat if she was gonna have a pissy attitude and not even try? Seemed like she was resistant or stubborn. I was like, wait a minute, this couple gonna need more than five days on this retreat! 🤣
Anyway, the couple that ran the retreat were amazing and didn't pull any punches. They were real and very transparent about their own struggles with marriage. I loved the different exercises they had the couples doing. That writing assignment blew me away. First, I was not expecting Psalm to blame himself for everything that went wrong. He did not hold back and shouldered all of it. He really had me in tears. Then, Nautica blew my mind with the last item on her list. I felt hurt for Psalm and felt bad for her because she seemed to be truly hurting and sorry for what she did. I did want to see more talking, like what was the exact reason they hadn't slept together in a year? I know they were having fertility issues, but I was hoping that they would really open about how that made them feel. Anyway, I'm glad they were able to find themselves again and get back to a place that had them in love with each other from the beginning. Happy they got their blessing.
Mrs. Amore, you have done it once again. I enjoyed Psalm and Nautica's story. It was an endearing novella because regardless of the angry between the two the love radiated off the page. You can tell by how strong the angry was that these two were each other soulmate. Although, they had not experienced intimacy in a year Psalm still admired his wife like it was the first time he laid eyes on her all those years ago. He would just stare at her trying not to ruffle her feathers while fantasizing.
The retreat that Na'Shay paid for was money well spent. It did exactly what it was intended for it got them both back on the same page. I was glad because they were made for each other. When Psalm upgraded her ring and proposed again the description of the size of the ring had me 😮.
This is another great read and after reading it the song 'Reunited' by Peaches and Herb came to mind. Psalm and Nautica reigniting lead to a new family member, a little lady. I get the feeling she is not going to be the only one added to the family.
Whew! I was worried about these two! Nautica just seemed mad for no reason, and didn't want to even talk it out. Psalm, seemed to just be over it, and was tired of arguing. Going on the retreat seemed to be just something to do, for the both of them. It seemed there was no hope. But, Ann and John are miracle workers!! In a short five days, they are able to identify issues, break the individuals down, build them up, and send them home, more in love than ever!! Learning of the reasons they thought their marriage was fractured, was really touching. But, Nautica's reveal was shocking! Was not sure what Psalm would do. They put in the work, talked and listened to find their love again. Good read! 👍👍
Queen Cherish dug deep in her soul for this one. Another book to be read for couples struggling to get back to their happy place,to find the reasons they feel in love and what caused them to get to that unhealthy space in their marriage.
From jump Nautica made me wanna choke her, like the lack of respects she had for Psalm was heartbreaking. She always wanted to "talk" yet she talked at him and never listened to him or allowed him to compete a sentence. I figured they had something that was keeping her from allowing him to love her but I want expecting that, smdh.
I was kinda upset when he completely moved it of their rim but grey she needed to humble herself. She kept saying she wanted a divorcee but then got pissed when he finally agreed to it. I think he just felt defeated but not defeated enough to resist temptation. Ik then no matter how bad things were he still loved her enough to walk away from the devil.
Na'Shay was an amazing sister and friend, who saw her sister drawing and threw her a life jacket. She knew Nautica and Psalm still loved each other and did what needed to be done to remind them of why they fell in love with each other. #sister/friendgoals
Queen Cherish just has a way with words, they speak to your soul. Granted there's sex, but her books always speak of rebuilding of love loss and I love that. At least the books I've read🤷🏽.
This story follows Nautica and Psalm and their journey to reigniting their marriage. From the very beginning I could feel the history and love that the characters had for each other. The story didn't feel rushed but with how broken the characters were and the relationship was, the timeline wasn't detailed enough for them to get them back to a happy and healthy place after five days. We got to see some of their issues but they didn't talk about them to each other which was disappointing. I did enjoy the flashbacks that showed us their relationship over time. Overall, I did enjoy the story I just wish there was more detail.
I don’t know why I love stories like this! Nautica and Psalm started the beginning of this book with a very rocky marriage heading to the end. BUT Nautica’s sister NaShay talked her into a couple’s retreat. Well although the St. John’s didn’t think it would heal their marriage...In those 5 days they walked away wanting to stay in their marriage and with a blessing for their happily ever after!
Secrets, guilt, and shame had shattered Psalm and Nautica's relationship. Na'shay was there from the beginning. I was cheering for Psalm and Nautica's love to be the spark that could keep reignite them as they journeyed to dissolve their marriage. A book is written well when you can feel every emotion written and visualize given descriptions. Enjoyable read, Cherish Amore
A 5 day retreat to repair a marriage on the brink of divorce. A couple still in love yet it would take a small miracle to keep them together. Nautica was growing in despair in her marriage, and her husband Psalm was versed in pain. At times, their relationship was painful to watch. I was so happy the way their story ended.
This story was deeply touching and emotional. Nautical and Psalm both seemed to haven given up their marriage (her more than him). A trip to a 5 day marriage retreat that both were reluctant to attend turned their marriage around. A week of raw communication and reconnecting helped Nautica and Psalm realize that there was still life in their marriage.
This short story of marriage between Nautica and Psalm showcased how sometimes in relationships you have to hit rock bottom before you can get back to the heart of the reasons you came together in the first place. A beautiful second chance at love and redemption between two people who decided to fight, and not give up! Loved it!
I loved the retreat that helped bring the couples back together by communicating with one another. The breakdown of communication is the biggest failure of marriage.
I low key thought the sister had to share personal details to help with the activities chosen for each couple to help bring them closer.
The hardest part of a break up some admitting your faults
Nautica and Psalm got lost in there marriage not communicating and paying attention to one another. Also there difficulty trying to conceive didn't help there marriage. They both wanted out but a friend wanted them to try a 5 day marriage retreat to see if they can find there way back to each other.
Short and sweet. Nautica and Psalms has reached a crossroad in their marriage. They forgot how to effectively communicate and allowed pride and assumptions almost take them away from each other. But a caring sister stepped in and offered them a way to remember their why and they were able to build on love again.
Glad they got themselves together and made an attempt to save their marriage. That 5-day marriage retreat was a marriage saver👍🏽👍🏽. The road wasn’t easy but it was so worth it. Glad they finally got their Princess in the end❤️❤️. I enjoyed the book and I would recommend it💃🏽💃🏽👏🏽👏🏽🎊🎉🔥🔥😜
Nautica and Psalm's story touched on some issues that some couples deal with daily. I love how they worked through their problems and realized that the love was still there. Great book and looking forward to reading more from this author.
Psalm and Nautica just needed to work out their problems. Lack of communication is the main reason a lot of marriages fail. I am glad her sister gave them information on a place to go for help. Happy they are still together and have a baby girl now. Good book.
This couple seemed to face what many couples face today, lack of communication or the skills to communicate. I was glad to see that the agreed to a couples retreat after all else failed. Sometimes it takes outsiders to show you what your missing.
Psalm and Nautica were so caught up in there issues that they almost completely lost sight of why they fell in love. The retreat helped them see why they fell in love with each other in the first place. So glad everything worked out for them.
It was well written with a good story line. I was actually surprised at how good it was. It was a short book but the authors writing was detailed enough to make it feel like a novel
This book made me sing After the Pain by Betty Wright in my head. The book explored the beauty and beast of marriage. I enjoyed reading this book and traveling this journey with them.
Psalm was so passionate and understanding. Nautica was hurting so bad but couldn’t express herself. I love that her sister still saw the love they had. They where meant for each other.
Awww this was so good! They were bent but not broken. I'm so glad that everything worked out the way it was supposed too! Despite everything they both knew deep down that they loved each other! Great story!
I loved this book Psalms and Nautica story was really good! Their loved was strong, even when they wanted to give up! I'm so happy everything worked out for them! I !overd the ending!
This was such a great story on never giving up. You could tell that Psalm and Nautica had such a great love story, they were just fighting it. I’m so glad they gave it one last try. Na’shsy was the real MVP.
This was a very good short story. The author did a good job of building the character and making the reader become invested in them. I really enjoyed reading about the events in the retreat. I wonder could that work in real life. Great read!
Well a 5 day retreated was what the doctor ordered. This book showed how marriages have some rough spots. The couple have to do all they can if they want to rekindle that fire. Loved Psalm and Nautica.
Starting off so young in love, obstacles can get in the way. But, when you really feel it in your soul you just know when to fight to keep the blessing God sent your way. Cudos to Psalm and Nautica.
