An interesting read, this book has women living their life to the point of having no regrets. Sad thing was, Stella only have complaints when came to having kids. She complained about not having clean clothes to wear and how basically they embarrassed her at the grocery stores with their chocolate hands. I have kids as well as gave up my career and I still think that kids brought me more joy than hardships into my life. On top of that, I think Dixie broke all of the best friends’ code when she did a tell-all about her best friends’ dirty secrets to Frankie whom they have never met. If I were her friend, I wouldn’t want her talking about me like that. Ana’s situation was one that got me thinking. Her husband’s condition just sprang out of nowhere. They seemed okay before he went to work and then all of a sudden he couldn’t get his manhood to work. Was it because of the pressure of having a baby? Or he just reach a certain point and it just turned off?
This book started with Stella, 40, told in the third person point of view. She’s a stay-at-home mom with two kids who’s husband often worked late. She felt miserable, wanting a nanny for her kids and to have her career back. The second view was Ana, 39. She and her husband Rex are trying to have a baby. Ana’s feeling sad about missing her ex and her husband’s condition. The third view was Dixie, 40. She’s on a lookout for a man to hook up. On the airplane, she and Freddie flirted and drank champagne. Later they took a step further. They all meet up for drinks every few days to catch up on life, men, sex, career, etc. One day, Stella was invited for a night out with someone she met at the playground and it turned into something Stella wasn’t expecting.
No Regrets was a steamy read that I was not expecting. Dixie’s personality reminded me of Samantha from Sex and the City. Stella hardly had a reason to be upset at her husband for having an unacceptable extracurricular activity because she also had one, before knowing what her husband did. Dixie surprised me when she’s mad after finding out Freddie’s secret from Holly. She basically encouraged Ana to cheat on her husband Rex! This book was about women in their 40s who made the decisions on their own to live life for themselves despite some having husbands and kids. A midlife crisis. I just don’t care to get to know these women much and so I lose interest in reading this book.
Stella, Ana and Dixie are the best of friends, they have been there for each other through the good and bad days. They now unknowingly find themselves all at a crossroads in their lives.
Stella is married to Jake and they have 2 children. She has gone from having a high flying career to being a house wife, worrying about her not so close relationship with her husband, who has been keeping financial secrets from her.
Ana is trying for a baby with partner Rex but her heart belongs to an old flame.
Dixie a fan of Tinder, meets a mystery man on a plane. Could he be Mr Right?
Loved the friendship of the three women, only real friends can tell each other the truth even if it hurts.
This story is told in a fun and sometimes fruity way, that made me laugh out loud. An easy to read book that I would definitely recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for a review.
Ugh I didn't like this at all. I feel like it took me forever to finish it because I had to keep forcing myself to pick it back up. The 3 main women were not likable and they were difficult to tell apart. The writing was disjointed so chunks of time would pass towards the end and I didn't realize until someone mentioned it. The ending was also really rushed and didn't seem realistic since it took so long to get there in the first place.
I feel like this book tried to be Sex and the City with the raunchy parts, but it just couldn't pack the same punch because the characters were weak and their friendship didn't seem to make sense after a while.
I was going to give it 2 stars just for readability, but I honestly didn't like any of this so I have to go with 1. Bummer.
This book was a horrific car crash. The characters are meant to be 40 year old women, but think and act much more like 16 year old girls (the author’s insistence on constantly referring to them as “girls” instead of grown women underlines this).
Where to start?
1) The constant graphic sex scenes that add nothing and just seem to be there so the author can include the word cl*t. I’m no prude, but through a lot of this I felt I was just reading a very long, drawn-out porno.
2) The dialogue - no women speak to their friends like this!!! I do not know anyone who literally discusses the “throbbing co*ks” of men they’ve just slept with, or how “wet” they are, or call each other “fatty”.
3) This novel was meant to be about female friendship - but what friendships? These women are all horrible to each other and go out of their way to sabotage each other’s happiness and/or stability. For example, Stella and Dixie inviting Ana’s ex to the party, knowing she might be pregnant. How cruel.
4) The sheer lack of thinking going on inside the heads of these 40-year-old women. Consequences seem to not even occur to them. They seem to just suddenly leave partners without even considering things like finances, houses, or jobs. It’s hard to feel engaged with any of their struggles or story lines when the characters themselves don’t even seem to care what happens to them.
5) This book is incredibly unrealistic on so many levels. It’s hard to get into a story when the author hasn’t bothered to even make basic things accurate.
Example: Ana trying for a baby and just having sex at scheduled, seemingly random times over a SIX WEEK PERIOD and not getting pregnant. This makes absolutely no sense. Women ovulate once in a cycle, and you can become pregnant in the few days around ovulation. Not to mention most women’s cycles are about 28 days long, not 6 weeks long. To top it off, this 6 weeks of random sex without becoming pregnant (which is technically only 1 cycle? Getting pregnant can take a lot longer than 1 cycle) is enough for them to consider IVF, which miraculously happens within days. That’s simply impossible. Has this author even bothered to google pregnancy or IVF?
None of these women have particularly well-paid jobs and yet they are gallivanting around in designer clothes and shoes. Where is all that money coming from?
The idea that Dixie and Freddie could organise a fancy, five-star wedding complete with designer gown, horse and carriage, etc. in what appeared to be a week - laughable!!! The last straw for me was Dixie apparently having a religious wedding ceremony complete with hymns in Claridge’s. Simply not possible!! The rules in the UK about religious ceremonies in secular settings is a hard no. Why did the author even bother? It literally makes no sense for Dixie as a character to have a religious ceremony anyway!
6) The men in this book. Not a single good one. I think Freddie is meant to be the heartthrob, but he’s a control freak who seemed really shady the whole book (when he ordered for Dixie, when he refused to be in any pictures with her - never explained??). Jake obviously ignored his family and had a gambling problem. Joel LITERALLY HUNG UP on Ana when she told him she was pregnant and then didn’t get in touch with her for quite awhile.
Ironically, the only good man in the book was Rex, who gets cheated on and dumped - for some reason, the author seemed hell-bent on making us think Rex was a wet blanket. The ways in which the author tries to show us that Rex is undesirable: by how he cares for Ana, how he cooks for her, how he holds down a job, how he tries to have a baby just to make her happy, how he is so reliable and trustworthy, etc etc. I mean????? Rex was the only man in the book who was in any way a good, reliable and mature partner.
7) The subtle homophobia - a lot of Stella’s thoughts about Coco and her situation aren’t very cool, and then the way her “friends” Ana and Dixie react when she reveals her affair with Coco is VERY uncool. It was extremely cringe.
1/5 for me, read it super fast as I couldn’t wait to be done - I am currently on holiday with limited books so probably would have DNF’d otherwise.

Stella, Ana and Dixie are best friends who are feeling fragile about their upcoming forties...
Stella is a devoted mother in a marriage that has become sexless and she is often along for hours on end. That is, until she meets the mysterious Coco, who's making her reevaluate whether she's quite so straight....
Ana is trying for a baby with husband Rex. However, she is still thinking about rockstar Joel, the one who got away....
Dixie is the tinder queen. She's happy with her flings until she meets Freddie, who she finds she can't stop thinking about. Though is he as perfect as he seems?
This is such a humorous, feel good book. It had me laughing so much, I just loved the friendship, the womanhood, everything about it. I loved how it showed life can change at any moment, how we can change things ourselves for the better.
Humour, friendship, arguments, love, betrayal.... what more could you ask for? This is a book that can not be put down, I just loved every second of it.
How on earth is this a debut novel, its is far too good to be a debut, I love it that much .
It to me is just what I want from a holiday read so very glad I was by the pool in Malta when I read it in one afternoon.
I was hooked almost instantly on these three friends, Stella, Ana and Dixie.
Stella is married with kids but feels like her life is stagnating a bit, and becomes friends with a young nanny, and I loved seeing just what influence Coco has on Stella!
Ana is desperate to have a child with Rex, but then discovers an ex has become mega successful and in the spotlight and starts to wonder!
While Dixie is without a doubt my favourite of the three ladies, for she clearly loves sex, is quite happy to continually alter her age on tinder, and not to mention the incredibly hot guy she sits next to on a transatlantic flight, who she has instant chemistry with.
They are three women who are determined to live life to its fullest, and to have absolutely no regrets when it comes to anything.
This was such a refreshing read, and feels like it could empower women to take control of their lives, and especially their sex lives.
I whizzed through this in an afternoon and afterwards wondered why on earth it had been sitting on my kindle for so long, as I had known from the second I read the blurb that it would be my sort of book!
Absolutely loved every filthy moment of this entertaining, escapist book.
Thank you to HQ and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
This is an absolutely brilliant debut novel, i'm still in shock that this is a debut novel.
This is one of those books that caught my eye on twitter and instagram, the cover is eye-catchingly gorgeous. I do love a bright colour!
I have loved following the frenemies- Stella, Ana and Dixie throughout this one. It has been a nice escape to read about the decisions, regrets and betrayals that take place throughout this one.
I have found the characters likeable, but have not completely related to them on the whole. This is a book which I have devoured in one sitting whilst sat with the sunshine. This is an author who I have high hopes for and I am extremely excited to see what the future holds.
This is a book I will be recommending to other readers, I have really enjoyed this one and found myself wanting to read more by this author.
Terrible. Barely readable. So trashy, not well written and borderline offensive at parts. The sex is just horrific. The storylines are over the top and pointless. The characters don’t feel real. There’s no strong females here; just bitches who cheat, drink too much and aren’t even very good friends. Have given it 2 stars because I managed to finish it. But it was horrendous.
'No Regrets' is being described as perfect for fans of 'Bridget Jones' Diary'. I enjoyed reading 'Bridget Jones' Diary' and so I thought that I would give 'No Regrets' a whirl. I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'No Regrets' but more about that in a bit. I can't honestly say that I warmed to any of the main characters but that's ok as it meant that I didn't favour one over the other. I have to admit that in some way each of the three main ladies irritated me a fair bit and at times I wanted to slap them with a wet fish or shake them by their shoulders. Although I didn't take to the main characters, I didn't dislike them either. Oh my word, 'No Regrets' wasn't exactly the book that I thought it would be. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I was drawn into this story from the start and I found that I just couldn't put the book down for any length of time. When I started to read 'No Regrets' in no way did I think that I wouldn't be moving from my reading seat for the length of the book. I read it in one big reading binge. I loved the mix of humour and drama within this book. 'No Regrets' was a cracking read which certainly helped to distract me from the pain I was in. 'No Regrets' is well written. The author certainly knows how to grab your attention from the start and then she takes you on one sassy, sexy and fun journey through the lives of the three main ladies. Tabitha's writing style is easy to get used to an easy to get along with. In fact reading 'No Regrets' felt more like a chat between friends than reading an actual book. I hope that makes sense. I really felt as though I was part of the story, which is down to Tabitha's superb storytelling. 'No Regrets' is the perfect escapist read, which is ideal for reading on your holiday or distracting you from all the talk of COVID19. In short, I thoroughly enjoyed 'No Regrets' and I would definitely recommend this book to other readers. I will be reading more of Tabitha's work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.
The characters made this book, each with their own unique personalities and struggles. I found myself quite invested in their own stories and how it would all end up. I liked that each got their own chapters so that we could focus more on their lives and what was happening, although please be warned there is quite a lot of sex throughout this book!
This book was incredibly well written and I generally liked the plot to the book with three best friends who are struggling to come to terms with the fact that they are coming up for forty.
However I did find myself some parts of the book unrealistic, with them jetting off to New York whenever with no real explanation on how, especially with Stella who has just found out some bad news. There is no real thought to her children and no one can just up and jet off to New York when they like. There is a lot involved with this decision and it all happened so quickly.
I wasn’t a fan of how everything seemed to just wrap up nicely at the end. There was a lot that went on at the end of the book and with a click of the fingers everything was fixed. I also feel like Stella’s feelings with her own sexuality could have been dealt with a bit differently and explored a lot deeper rather.
Overall, this was a very light-hearted with friendship at its core. This is definitely a good summer read for those who are a fan of chick-lit!
Thank you to NetGalley and HQ for providing me with a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
No Regrets follows 3 ladies Stella, Ana and Dixie all around the age of 40. They've been friends forever and are each at different stages in their lives. Stella is married with 2 children, but her relationship with her husband is not as good as it once was. Ana is trying to have a baby, but is the man she's with the right one, or did the right one get away? And Dixie is an independent lady, she's a bit of a wild child who enjoys the company of men on her own terms and isn't looking to settle down... 🍑 This book is well written and I read it in two days, which is unheard of for me. It's a very light, easy read, and is the perfect book for a summer holiday. There's lots of laughs, sex and a few tears thrown in along the way. The characters are likeable and I think you'll warm to all three ladies for different reasons. I would have liked a bit more depth to their personalities, I particularly wanted to know more about Ana's colour coded wardrobe for each day of the week?! It's a good book for a bit of escapism and if you enjoy a light read then give this a go. 🍑 I'm on the fence with my rating for this one... I'm going to give it an unusual 3.75 🌟 because for me it's not quite a 4 star, but I enjoyed it and would read another book by this author.
3.5🌟 This was an enjoyable and easy read. 3 friends around the age of 40 with totally different lives. Stella, married with 2 children stuck in a mum rut. Dixie, work orientated looking to live life to the fullest with no restraints. Ana settled with her good on paper man Rex trying for a baby to complete her good on paper life. They all seem like they have the perfect life on the outside but each are dealing with struggles that they try to keep hidden. I really enjoyed the banter in this book. There were quite a few belly laugh moments from the group. It gave me definate Sex In The City vibes especially Dixie she's got a real Samantha thing going on and her love interest reminded me of Mr Big. I just found some bits a bit too far fetched and would have loved a bit more depth from certain aspects of the story. Overall a nice easy light hearted story guaranteed to give you a few laughs along the way
I admit I'm not a big rom-com fan, but I stepped out of my comfort zone and so glad I did! This was so good, maybe because these women are in my age range and it's not a popular one to write about? Each woman is dealing with something different in her life. Ana is having trouble getting pregnant and the clock is ticking(oh and she's not sure she's in love with her partner), Dixie is a wild party girl with one night stands who possibly has found "the one". And last but not least is Stella, a stay at home mom who is definitely having a mid life crisis. Stella's marriage is rocky, she wants to go back to her career, she needs to lose a few pounds, and she has made a "new friend". Thank you to HarperCollins for the book to read and review. My favorite line from the book, "Live in the moment, Stella. Don't let life be something you wish away."
¡Pues no!
In this book we follow Stella, Ana and Dixie. They’ve been friends since childhood and are now approaching their 40s. We follow this close knit group, who are more family than friends, as they look at their lives and deal with some big events.
The events the women deal with are big, life changing events, however, there is still the undercurrent of brutal honesty and humour between the ladies which keeps it lighter hearted or easier to read.
I received an eARC copy of this book from the publishers via Netgalley. These opinions are my own.
Well what can I say, bloody brilliant, loved it, the charecters are just fab, 3 ladies, I can totally relate to, a super summer read that went down well with a glass or two of rose, I'd love to read further adventures too, highly recommend to anyone especially at the minute pure escapism, might not be able to read it by the pool, but get yourself in the garden and relax with a wine, you won't be disappointed
This was a fast read and has a good premise. I had a hard time really getting to know the characters and I just did not feel invested in the story or people. The timeline also felt disjointed and the ending felt a bit rushed. It didn't feel like there was a lot of closure to the problems, just kind of a quick moment of forgiveness and everyone moves on.
7 days to read the first half! Thought I was going to have to ditch it but thankfully the 2nd half was much better and we got to actually get more of the story. Way too many unnecessary sex references which sounded quite immature. Each of the 3 main characters were interesting in their own way and had a fairly decent story to tell , unfortunately it was very rushed.
I didn't hate this book, but at times I didn't really like it either, although I did read it quite quickly and found myself happy enough to read it through to the end.
So, what were the things I did like enough to get through it? It was, for want of a different word, quite "spunky" and it definitely felt a little like a trip back to the 80s bonkbuster only less high content which is a good thing, btw. I loved those books when I was younger but I wouldn't want to read any of them again now. It was also well written which means a lot. I love me some chick-lit but there is some badly written stuff out there as there is for any popular genre. This was very well written and the characters were mostly decent, except they also weren't.
So, the things I didn't like. Despite the characters being decent, I guess I really mean decently written and I found it hard to warm to any of them and within a couple of days of putting it down, I'd forgotten their names. Maybe if I'd had more background on them, especially Dixie who grated on me from the beginning, I'd have warmed to her more, but I didn't.
Next, a huge pet peeve of mine. Numerous simultaneous orgasms. Please, enough with that already. These are not common, they're actually pretty bloody rare and they're also not the be-all and end-all of sex. It's a shame because the sex is mostly well written but the need for dated tropes really annoyed me. Wrt sex and relationships, I found the whole Coco and Stella plot really patronising and a little insulting. The level of "oh my god, am I a lesbian now! Oh no, I can't tell my friends until I'm hideously drunk!" felt like something from a past age. Coco herself was a lovely character but to be honest she was written as a manic pixie dream lesbian type character.
Finally, and this is a huge bugbear of mine. I absolutely hate it in a novel or film of the romance/rom-com/chick-lit variety when a character says "well if this happened in a film/book then there'd be a great big happy ending, but this is real life so ..." and then, hey presto, the great big happy ending happens. If that trope is going to be used then actually turn it on its head and have the happy ending not happen. That would be different.
I'm happy to suspend belief in this sort of novel, so I honestly enjoyed a lot of the slightly/very unrealistic happy ever afters that were there and I think it's possible that a lot of people will really enjoy this, alas it really wasn't for me.
Thanks to NetGalley for an ARC of this novel in return for an honest review.
'¿Arrepentida?
This was just the right level of escapism for an extremely stressful time. The plot and writing is funny, well paced and the friendship of the three girls is highly relatable for anyone who has had friends for a long, long time.
I wasn't completely blown away by it, I think because I didn't really buy into the actions of any of the women being overly realistic, so when there was all three at once it just seemed a bit much for me. That said, seperately, the plotlines were fun, very different from each other and all tackled something that a woman is "supposed" to find joy in.
So this book is about three friend who behaved as if they really didn't like each other: Stella, Ana and Dixie. The characters themselves were unlikable. They were all at a crossroad in their lives. Whether it be career, marriage, relationship... All three. I finished it because I thought I was going to start liking it more at some point. 1.5 stars.
I enjoyed this book. It’s funny and light hearted. It made me snigger a good few times. With these troubled times we find ourselves in this book is a good one to read. I could also associate with all of the characters as well, as they are all getting to the end of their 30’s. It reminded me of my friends and I at that age. I absolutely love the cover of this book as well. It’s so bright and cheerful.
Meet Stella, Dixie and Ana. They have been best friends for a very long time. We meet them as they are all approaching the big four zero. Where they all realise that they aren’t really in the places they expected to be in.
Stella is a stay at home mother, She spends most of her time running around after her family. Wishing she was more like the other mum’s who seem to manage family life effortlessly.
Her husband has made her get rid of the paid help and she is struggling even more than she did before. Stella however has other ideas about getting new help, she’s actually thinking of pinching someone’s nanny. Along with hopes of going back to work and being a bit more glanderous.
One day when she’s at the park with the kids. She becomes friends with Coco a young nanny. She finds Coco a breath of fresh air and she’s also introducing Stella to some new experiences.
Ana is in a relationship with the most boring man, but on paper he is just the sort of man to settle down with. He has a decent job, he’s reliable, caring and not bad looking. Ana has decided that now is the time to start trying for a family as she’s so desperate for a baby.
Ana has also decided that she wants to speed up the process, so they pay to go and see a private specialist. Just to make sure everything is working. It turns out that Rex is the one that is going to cause them problems in conceiving. So they pay for one round of fertility treatment. Which then starts making Ana wonder if she really is with the right man. Due to her having fertility injections her hormones are all over the place. So no matter what Rex does she finds him irritating and he constantly gets her back up. Which in turn Makes her think about Joel her now famous ex boyfriend. Everywhere she goes his music is playing or he’s on the TV, she can’t get away from him and their past.
Dixie is the wild a child of the bunch. She’s single has a good job. She gets to travel with her job too, as she manages her bosses properties which are all over the place. She’s also on Tinder and has numerous one night stands and has no intentions of stopping any time soon, as she’s not going to ever get married.
On one particular flight to New York Dixie gets upgraded on her flight and ends up with her cabin near a really cute guy. She ends up getting a bit tipsy and ends up telling him things that she never tells anyone. She total forgets to update he Tinder account with new photos of herself. So she could hook up with some cute New York guys.
Dixie doesn’t tell the girls anything about Freddie the next time she meets up with them as he has her in a spin. Which has never happened to her before. It’s like she is under his spell.
When she does mention him though she ends up asking the girls over to the Hamptons to celebrate Freddie’s Birthday. Where things don’t go quite as expected.
Stella gets blind drunk and tells them what is really going on in her life. Dixie and Freddie set up Ana with her famous ex, which lead to unexpected things. Then the rich wives of Freddie’s friends pull a fast one on Dixie and everything comes tumbling down.
Will the girls get their lives back on track? They may do eventually with some great hilarity along the way.
If you need a good laugh and some escape then this book is for you.
They say that you’ll be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did, and for lifelong friends, Stella, Anna and Dixie this couldn’t be more true. They’ve all lived fulfilling lives – Stella had a dream career as a magazine editor and is now married with two children, Dixie married young and now lives the glamorous life of a bachelorette since her divorce, and Anna has spent her life finding the optimal partner, who she’s found in Rex, and is now trying for a baby. All three should be happy right? Wrong! Each feels that something is missing from their lives and when a series of opportunities present themselves the girls decide that it’s time for no more regrets…
No Regrets by Tabitha Webb is raunchy, comical and real, making it an upbeat read! I enjoyed this far more than I thought I would, what with my go-to genre’s being YA Fiction or Fantasy, but I received an ARC at the Harper Collins Showcase in February and when they released the call for the blog tour I thought why not!
This is such an easy read and I found myself speeding through. It's the perfect book to pick up for a holiday (admittedly non-existent holiday thanks to Covid-19).
Comprised of alternative chapters from all three pov’s, we experience everyone's story from the third person narrative which creates an omniscient feeling. Webb uses the varied pov to drive the plot forward, which captures your intrigue and keeps you turning the page. While I preferred some story-arc’s over others, each was entertaining and charming and were woven together effortlessly.
What I admired most was that the characters are flawed and do make mistakes, just as humans do, which makes them easier to connect with. They all emanate a warmth that instantly makes them loveable. Personally, Stella was my favourite - she is headstrong, independent and utterly hilarious!
The ending felt a little unstable as we had all the story-arc's wrapped up in one chapter which left me feeling a little dizzy. While this is an obvious choice for the ending, I'd have preferred to title the ending chapters as "Bitches" rather than a specific character to make it clear all three are merging together. Nevertheless, the ending is beautiful and leaves you feeling content.
If you're looking for a hot, sassy read then look no further!
No Regrets was a fun and light read about love, friendship, and identity. Set in the United Kingdom, we follow three best friends (Stella, Ana, and Dixie) throughout the book. While I enjoyed their friendship and was invested in each of their storylines, I found the writing to be a bit of a stretch at times.
Stella is a stay-at-home mother with a husband who is always gone, yet she can always conveniently meet up with new and old friends. Sometimes even other outings. A couple times there is a mention of her mother watching her kids, but sometimes the husband does and I don’t understand how easy it is when they are having issues and he has his secrets. She even goes to a last minute trip to New York! While I enjoyed her search for her identity and purpose, this made it a little unbelievable.
Ana is trying for a baby and as someone who has issues conceiving as well, I really related to her. Her dilemma is wanting to be a mother with a man she doesn’t love because her body is against the clock. She is always thinking about her ex (who happens to be a famous musician) and has to workout if she can be happy with her partner. Besides the famous ex, it was a realistic situation and I was very invested. I did have a problem that I will reveal after Dixie.
Dixie is the glamorous one of the bunch. She is always traveling and hooking up with men to then toss aside. She has a carefree life, but soon she meets her match. I loved watching her fall in love, but it was obvious the man she was falling for had something he wasn’t telling her.
My problem with all three of the women is that despite all these conflicts, they had a convenient happy ending. Everything came together at the same time and everyone got what they wanted. While I am happy for them, it was just too easy. That was my main issue but other than that, I did enjoy the ride. Just wasn’t a memorable ride.
I would like to mention that there is sapphic representation and I really enjoyed it! Don’t want to spoil who it is.
I still recommend to fans of romantic comedies and Sex and the City. This is also perfect for reading slumps!
Thank you to HQ and Edelweiss for the arc! This title was released March 2, 2021.

*I was given a digital ARC of No Regrets by Tabitha Webb in exchange for an honest review*
From the publisher: Best friends Stella, Ana, and Dixie have always lived life to the full. But now they’re approaching their forties, reality is starting to kill the mood…
Stella loves her children but misses her glittering career. Plus she can’t even remember the last time she had sex. Ana is trying for a baby with her partner Rex. So why can’t she stop thinking about the one that got away? Dixie is the wildest of them all. A Tinder addict who’ll never settle down. But has she accidentally found Mr. Right…? It’s time for the friends to shake things up and start having some fun. Because you only regret the things you don’t do, right?
I was so excited to read this book! My best friends mean everything to me. We've seen each other through failed relationships, having or struggling to have kids, bad mistakes, etc. No Regrets being about 3 best friends at different stages of their lives immediately spoke to me, which was why I was so disappointed when it fell flat. I didn't connect to any of the characters and didn't particularly enjoy any of them either. They are all at a crossroads, which is something I completely understood, however; all their situations seemed really unbelievable. The way they lost all their backbone at the slightest sexual touch was frustrating. I did enjoy their drunken fight at the mansion in Long Island. It felt raw and real. Those who know us the best are also the ones who can destroy us the most, especially with the truth.
I understand that the author lives in the world of fashion where meeting celebrities and the extremely wealthy are commonplace, but it's probably not the case for the majority of women who will buy this book. Its lack of connectivity is why I gave it 3 stars. I didn't dislike it, I was just disappointed by it.
Thank you to Edelweiss and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this title.
I am on a roll this week it is the fourth of March and I have finished four books. This arc was given to me by Harper360 via NetGalley for my honest review. While I did enjoy this read It did teach me that an easy-breezy chit-lit read is no longer my cup of tea. I reflected and went through my Goodreads and realized that I prefer mysteries and horror above all else and that is the only reason this book is getting a three-star review. The book follows best friends Stella, Ana, and Dixie that are best friends who have seen each other through the good the bad, and in some parts of this book the ugly. Each woman is now at a crossroads in their own lives and trying to keep everything balanced while trying to keep their friendship intact.
Stella is the married woman of the group she is married to Jake who by the end of the book you will hate than love. They have two children. She had an awesome career which she traded in for housewife and mother duties and on top of it, all Jake is far from the perfect husband. She has gone from having a high-flying career to being a housewife, worrying about her not-so-close relationship with her husband, who has been keeping financial secrets from her. Ana is trying to find the perfect man on paper. She and Rex are trying to take the next step in their relationship and have a baby. Mind you that throughout the novel you get the sense that Ana is not sure that what she thought she wanted on paper is exactly what she is looking for. Dixie the fiery redhead is my favorite of the three. She meets a mystery man and goes on this adventure that every woman should experience once in life. I do not want to give away too much of this book so I will say if you are looking for a summer read book that you can finish in one day that this book would fit nicely on top of your beach read pile. Thank you to all parties involved in my approval of this arc it was an enjoyable read.
The story is about three friends, three women who are all at some kind of crossroads in their lives. The realisation that your life shouldn't be lived for others, and your pleasure and happiness shouldn't be structured around the needs of others either. Sometimes you have to be selfish to get what you need, as opposed to what other people think you want.
Is Coco the forbidden fruit or is it a case of being drawn in by the beauty and lack of parallels. Does the thrill of something new give Stella a new lease on life or is it more about the stagnation providing the perfect opportunity for squashed emotions and previously buried attractions to rear their head?
I didn't quite buy the friendship between Stella, Ana and Dixie, but if you sit back and ponder on it there is an element of truth in the more brutally honest element of their relationships. The characters are too singular and never quite manage to bridge the gap between page and reader or between themselves.
Although the majority of the scenes have a basis in reality the story lacks the spark of authenticity that takes readers from fiction to empathy and recognising a part of themselves in the read.
It's a bit explicit, now and again, when it comes to the sex scenes - just something to be aware of if you're not into a wee bit of horizontal tango, thrusting manhoods and moist girl caves awaiting said manhoods.
The title more or less spells it out for readers. The characters don't give a flying frog and neither does Webb, which of course is part of the charm of this read, and I expect this won't be the last time we hear from this author. *I received a courtesy copy*
