He’s her brother’s best friend. Which makes her the only girl entirely off limits to him. Until a summer of forbidden love threatens to change everything...
Jordyn Jones is a sassy tomboy sick of living in the shadow of her twin brother, the All Star Quarterback. All she wants is a summer job that will get her away from her constantly fighting parents.
Dylan Ramirez is a popular football star and serial dater who never gets serious with any girl. After his dad gets sick, Dylan and his brother are put in charge of the understaffed family restaurant for the summer.
When Dylan hires Jordyn, it seems like a simple way to solve their problems. But while working together, these lifelong friends fall for each other. Hard.
The problem? Dylan is best friends with Jordyn’s brother. And that makes Jordyn the only girl who is off limits.
After a midnight kiss leads to a secret relationship, Jordyn gives Dylan one condition: the relationship ends when summer does. They can never be together in the real world. But as their feelings grow deeper than they could have ever imagined, they wonder: was this really just a summer fling?

This wasn't bad. I liked Jordyn and Dylan but not as much as the other couples. I wasn't quite as invested I guess.
Jordyn is trying to find a job for the summer to get out of her house and away from her parents fighting. Chase is going to a football summer camp, so he asks his best friend to watch over Jordyn by giving her a job at his dad's restaurant.
Dylan and Jordyn have been friends for as long as they can remember. But there is the bro code. Don't date your best friend's sister.
I can't really say much about this because like I said I wasn't as invested and nothing really stood out from the relationship like the other two couples.
I might take a break from Evermore High and read something else to cleanse the palate.
School takes a break for the summer, but high school drama doesn’t. It starts tonight with Golden Girl’s annual rager. 8 pm, sharp. Rumor is that Stonewash Sunrise is making an appearance. But don’t get too excited, ladies - Trey Carter’s taken. And remember - we’re going to pick a new fave to follow this summer. Who will it be? Get your votes in.
Congrats, Jordyn Jones. You’re our new fave for the summer. What big secret is Chase’s twin sister hiding? We’re going to have fun finding out…
Evermore’s Main Street had a distinctly ‘50s vibe. The street lamps were vintage, cars weren’t allowed, and the boardwalk was made of old brick.
“True love is not always where we want it to be, my love.”
“Check the bag,” Dylan said. I did. Inside the bag, next to something that smelled delicious, was a black, oversized Panthers hoodie. The name ‘Ramirez’ was etched into the shoulder, along with Dylan’s number 30. Without asking permission, I put the hoodie on and savored the warmth. It smelled like him.
“Falling in love with someone is rare. It’s rarer than a shooting star. Rarer than a lightning strike. It does not happen every day. And for some people, it doesn't happen at all. Ever.”
“Falling in love with your childhood best friend and having a relationship? That’s like seeing a shooting star get hit by lightning. If it works out, it’s like winning the lottery.”
This book had the feel of Gossip Girl because of how Click was being presented and I loved it. I love Gossip Girl and I love how Emily Lowry brought that feel of Gossip Girl into the book. Dylan and Jordyn are a cute, adorable and fun couple. The witty banter between Dylan and Jordyn was hilarious. When things fell about, Dylan and Jordyn reached to each other. 4 stars.
Don't get me wrong, I liked it. But that was all. Jordyn makes a great supporting character but I can't say I liked her as much as the h. She was a bit too dramatic for my taste. Complaining about existing in her brother's shadow, about her too clingy most boyfriend that she kept around for a while, she says friendships turning to love fail always and complains about this, when anyone with common sense at least knows in their head that sometimes love does last between people, even of it didn't with her parents. She was at times unkind, not so much that I put the book down, but enough to get on my nerves. And both H and h have their fair share of wallowing and woe is me-ing, enough to have tempted me to skip ahead. I resisted. That being said, it was fun to watch Jordyn and Dylan get together and discover that something was there between them, which is what had excited me so much about the existence of this book in the first place and it was awesome to revisit the heros and heriones from previous novels, who I adore. This one had a bit too much character-self conflict without a lot of reason for it, for me. Three and a half stars. I liked it, but I wouldn't reread it. No swearing No sex
I’m so happy. I made a guess that this would be about Jordyn and Dylan. I was right. Just like the other two books it was so good. Jordyn is left at home alone with her very unhappy parents. Her twin brother, Chase, is away for the summer at football camp and her best friend, Hailey, is in Europe. Chase asks Dylan his best friend to look out for Jordyn. Dylan gets Jordyn a job at his family’s restaurant. They finally see each other as more than friends and give a summer fling a try. But Dylan is keeping his promise to Jordyn that they are a secret and only for the summer. Jordyn struggles because of her parents. They were once friends and have lead her to believe love ruins everything since they can’t stop arguing. Jordyn and Dylan are cute and are perfect for each other. Also, side note for Mrs. Jones being the angry dramatic parent I was very happy at her turn around. This book is very much worth reading. I’m sad there are no characters to keep this series going.

Jordyn Jones is the sister of Chase Jones, her twin brother, the All Star Quarterback. When he goes off to football camp, she needs a summer job that will get her away from her toxic, constantly fighting parents.
Dylan Ramirez is Chase’s best friend, a popular football star, who never gets serious with any girl he dates. When his dad gets sick, Dylan and his brother take over in the understaffed family restaurant for the summer. Dylan hires Jordyn, which works out for both of them. Solving problems together, they learn to trust each other and confidently rely on the other to solve any issues that come along. Except that they begin to fall for each other. They decide to date in secret, just for the summer. But when summer is over, can they walk away?
This was a terrific story that was enjoyable right from the start. The characters are wonderful and it’s inspiring to see how well they work together. Grab your copy and read their story to find out how they will deal with going back to the “real world” after their amazing summer.
Jordyn just wants to be her own person. Not to be only known by or compared to her twin brother, Chase. Jordyn’s easygoing personality, quick-wit and competitiveness makes her relatable and shows depth to her character. Jordyn’s family life is crumbling before her very eyes and feels alone and unseen. But her confidence in who she is and willpower to keep going is commendable.
Dylan’s family and friends help motivate him to do bigger and better things. He is reliable, passionate and is there for anyone without hesitation. Dylan wants his parents to be proud of him, so him and his two siblings help take over the restaurant while their dad takes a break.
The stolen and special moments between Jordyn and Dylan were so heartwarming. I loved how Dylan shows up for her, no questions asked, and helps her through some of the toughest predicaments in her life. The bond they share is unbreakable, no matter what. I had an assortment of emotions while also covered in goosebumps from how much I enjoyed this book.
Her books are great, but there’s always some minor ridiculous misunderstanding along the way. Where are they stop talking or whatever and then they have an epiphany and they should be together.
Jordyn is a little bit whiny and a little bit crazy but fun. I love the banter. It’s almost like siblings but slightly more flirtatious.
Content: It’s clean only kissing. Her parents fights mentioned a lot.
Fave quotes:
“Chase had probably done something stupid like ask Dylan to look out for me all summer. Watch out for Jordyn… Make sure she doesn’t burn the whole town down. Really dangerous, that girl.”
“What kind of idiot flicks the boy they might have feelings for in the forehead?”
“had the personality of the color beige? If you keep being so careful, that’s what you’ll end up with. You won’t be Jordyn Jones. You’ll be Jordyn Beige.”
““She doesn’t need a boyfriend right now. She needs a friend. Someone she can trust without worrying that things will get screwed up. Someone who will love her unconditionally.”
The novel follows Dylan and Jordyn. Dylan, Jordyn, and Chase have been great friends ever since they were babies. Dylan is Chase’s best friend, and Jordyn is Chase’s twin. When Chase leaves to go to a football camp, Jordyn wants to get away from her toxic home life. The only escape is Dylan’s restaurant. Sparks fly and they decide to date secretly.
I enjoyed this book a lot. I liked how Emily, the author, was able to show their insecurities. The witty banter was hilarious to read. Whenever a problem came up that one of them wasn’t able to handle alone, they felt safe going to the other. I loved how this book, a full-length novel, went by so fast. It kept me intrigued. I haven’t read the first two books, but after reading this, I surely will.
I wrote this voluntary review in exchange for an ARC copy.
Emily has done it again! She writes with clarity and is superbly a talented writer! It shows with this series! I think I have laughed so much with these stories. Emily knows about the characteristics of these YA and it definitely shows in her writing. Dylan and Jordan are really perfectly together. the world building is spectacular and the character building is so beyond that if you pick up this book you will not have to worry about catching up or feel as of you need the other books to know what is going on. Really good!

This “brother’s best friend” book is not a cliche story, even though is coo twins all the elements. A secret relationship, feelings from the girl towards the boy and a HEA.
Jordyn is absolutely the funniest character of the series. Everything she says is hilarious and even though she has the rebel element in her, she’s not obnoxious and doesn’t lash randomly against everyone just to hurt them. I loved that about her!
Dylan is the jelly to her PB. He’s funny, he’s supportive and let’s her be. Loved her just as she is and that’s the best message of this book. The best message in the series.
Funny and cute and obviously for teens. 3rd book of the "Rumors and Lies and Evermore High Series" and i skipped book 1 and 2 since all are standalones and coz this one appeals to me more than the first two. Maybe I was just drawn to its cover is all...and that im a certified chicklit lover are but two reasons y i end up choosing this book though half expecting it to be just another silly teen story. And it really is another silly teen story... But well, im in d mood for silly these days.
Turns out that theres nothing special about this book... but at least it was ok enough to read til d end.
I seriously sappy-love this story! I love that it had real-life problems interspersed with the sweet love story that made it so all encompassing. First is the sweet forbidden romance, then there is the Ramirez family’s burger joint and the issues that they are to dealing with. Finally there was the fraying relationship between Jordyn’s parents. Through it all the friendship that allows Dylan and Jordyn to pull each other through is so endearing. I had both goosebumps and tears in their turn.

Jordyn was too much of a sour puss for me. From her appearances in the 2 previous books I thought she was going to be somewhat of a careless childish girl on the inside but a sensitive and caring person deep down but instead she was bitter and sarcastic. Also the 'girl hate' theme was strong in this book, don't get me wrong it was also present in the 2 previous books but Jordyn's internal nagging and mockery towards the other girls took it to the next level and personally I did not enjoy that.
4.5 insecurities are common to everyone, but this story shows how you can over come these. She is left alone her brother has his friend checking in her her. he is her safety, he helps her in more ways than she imagined and now the summer is over and the del was to keep it short and secret. such a fun and delightful story with lots of emotions

This was a cute and fun YA read with a brother's best friend trope in a slow burn romance. Dylan and Jordan were just perfect for each other and the story is just the perfect blend of real and sugary young love.

I have loved reading books based around relationship which are forbidden. I loved the story in this book and loved both main characters (Dylan and Jordyn) Dylan and chase are best friends, while Chase and Jordyn are twins. This story follows the story of Dylan and Jordyn as they find love with each other
I loved Jordyn and Dylan’s story. I got a kick out of the answers Jordyn have to the fortune teller. Those made me laugh out loud. I still want to know who is behind Click. Hopefully we’ll get to find out.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I enjoyed it very much. The writing was fluid. The storyline was interesting. The characters were believable and relatable. I found this story enjoyable and entertaining.
Really loved this book. Jordyn is sassy but there's sweetness there, too, and her relationship with Dylan, her twin brother's best friend, is realistic. Chase is still my fave guy in this series, but Dylan is a sweetie and is really there for Jordyn when she needs him.
Book 3 to this series did not disappoint. These lighthearted stories make my heart so happy. They are quick reads but so sweet to read. I cant stop reading them. I am definitely going to book 4 next.
probably my favourite out of this series, i just LOVEEE jordyn AND dylan!! like that are absolutely ADORABLE. the vibes are amazing, with the whole summer fling turning into something more. like the beach walk ON THE RIVER SECRET DATE!! or them working at the diner? like that’s just so cute!! i love luis and sofia and their family dynamic but ESPECIALLY the little sofia bits we got that we KNOW are going to reference HER BOOK!! the way dylan got protective over sofia talking to a BOY!! also love sofia and jordyn, their friendship is just so sweet. it sucks they had to be a secret but with click and also the topic of jordan’s fear over friends getting together, it was both sweet and realistic. jordyn projecting her own fears towards her and dylan’s relationship I JUST WANNA GIVE THIS GIRL A HUG!! chase too, because their family, oh i just felt so bad!! shoutout to the scenes with him and abby though, them eating their faces off.. at least they cute!! i do love the scene where they make the pasta together, just jordyn and her mum. this book had all the scenes, the sweet, the sad, like the homemade slip n slide or when dylan drove at like THREE AM to go find jordyn sitting watching friends on like the side of the road?! the carnival fair where samuel davidson was created and a LOVE MATCH was created. like this book was just all the feels!! i love how chase was mad but also knowing that dylan TRULY loved jordyn he was okay, like FAIR ENOUGH. next, i HATE HATE HATE that stupid middle age man sounding PETE. like what was his problem? the way his intentions were… kinda right but his actions were HELLA WRONG?? like ugh, he pissed me off so badlyyyy. overall though, i loved this book. jordyn and dylan were cutiesss!! i feel like they wrapped us these three books well with everyone really connected and the next two being dylan’s sister and said sisters best friend who have no link to the first book is also just fun and interesting to read about!!
“are you having a fun time at this party?” oh, pete. he spoke like he was an awkward dad trying to pretend he was cool.
jordyn at the start of the book: “falling in love with a friend was the stupidest thing you could do, as far as i was concerned.” jordyn at the end of the book: “i love you too, dylan. more than anything. and i want to be with you. but if we’re going to do this, we need to do it together. we need to be all-in. no matter what.”
“she extended one hand to me, and the other to Dylan. i did not like where this was going. we each took her hand. and she put our hands together.”
“what kind of idiot flicks the boy they might have feelings for in the forehead?” GURLLL.
“something so wrong had never felt so right.” not me having “guilty as sin” playing while i read this.
dylan being protective of sofia >>>> “kids that were flirting. and flirting lead to dates. and dates lead to kissing.” “i thought i saw the boy hand sofia his cell phone. wait. WAS SHE GIVING HIM HER NUMBER?”
abby and chase being iconic >>>> “he did more than mention it. whenever he told the story of how he and abby met, her driving got more and more extreme. by now, when he told the story, abby sounded like cruella de vil, swerving through evermore like a maniac.”
THE LOVE MATCH DOCTORRR “when the clock strikes midnight, and there’s nowhere to run, to whom do you turn? i turned over the card. jordyn jones.” DYLANS ANSWER!!!!
“i love you, jordyn jones. and i want to be with you. forever. but if that’s not what you want, and all j get is this summer, that’s okay. because dating you for one summer still makes me the luckiest man alive.”
“after the party, the six of us sat by the river. dylan was next to me, his toes submerged in the water, his arm around me. i rested my head on his shoulder. abby sat in chase’s lap, and trey was whistling while skipping stones across the river. hailey lay on the beach like she was trying to top up her tan, even though it was nighttime.” chase: this was the first place i took abby. our first date. abby: the cliché date. you bought me chocolate roses. chase: a dozen. abby: you don’t get to say you brought me a dozen chocolate roses if you ate half of them first. chase: i thought it was the thought that counted? abby: chocolate counts more. abby grinned and gave him a kiss. trey: this was where we had the concert that got stonewash sunrise into prohibition. right along the river. hailey: you’re welcome. trey dove onto the sand beside her. tickled her until she shrieked. hailey jumped on top of him and pinned him down. hailey: say it, trey carter. you wouldn’t be who you are if it weren’t for me. trey: i confess. i would not. they kissed. dylan: and the raft you used for the concert, i used for our secret date. all of our relationships started near this river. seems fitting that we should spend the last weekend before school starts here. jordyn: you know what else brought us all together? click. chase and abby wouldn’t have got together if someone wasn’t after chase on click. hailey needed click to get fans for trey. and dylan and i spent our entire summer trying to avoid being a click rumor — before we dealt with pete. WHAT AN ENDING. I LOVE THEM!!

I enjoyed Dylan & Jordyn's book. Good characters. It was an entertaining read. I received a free arc of the book. And am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
