Desperate for a final shot at redemption, Lauren and her team head to the Pacific Northwest to prove the existence of Bigfoot. There, an encounter with a double-dealing diamond thief leads her into the heart of a volcano, and to a startling connection between this quest and her South American find. But for some reason, Lauren is having trouble remembering what she has learned…

Will this startling breakthrough flip the channel to Lauren’s deadliest episode? Will she get her sensational story on screen, or will she and her team become an endangered species?

Kulakowski brilliantly weaves the past and present with historical facts combined with an exceptional narrative that drives the story forward with pounding intensity. What an incredibly intriguing and smart read. My mind loves devouring these types of facts that are flawlessly interwoven throughout this story. This is a fast-paced suspenseful ride that keeps you gripping the edges of your tablet.  Tension and family connections that tug at your heartstrings. Mind-blowing twists and turns that had me quoting Rowan, "Unfreakingbelievable." Lauren and Rowan are a dream team and I love their intelligent children. They add such dimension and a wonderful family dynamic to this page-turner’s excitement. I could not put this down. A perfect read for history nerds, lovers of quests, and, The DaVinci freaking Code.

A Supernatural Treasure

After reading the first book in this series I couldn't wait to get my hands on this follow up. I was not disappointed! The author threw it all in this one and then some. The ongoing saga of Lauren and Rowan keeps you on the edge of your seat and barely let's up to let you catch your breath. If you are looking for a new cryptid/supernatural series then i can't recommend this one enough. With characters you can root for and plot twists at every turn you'll be a fan too! Five well deserved stars for this one. Now onto book three.

The Lost Templar, Betsey Kulakowski’s fifth book in the Veritas Codex paranormal thriller series, offers another exciting adventure for Lauren and Rowan Pierce and important roles for their growing family of three boys, with more on the way. The setting in southeast Oklahoma drew my interest, and the author does a great job of bringing together the Pierces’ latest undertaking with a multi-generational family theme. Lauren and Rowan find many surprises and ‘truths never meant to be told.’ Great job, and I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

This story just gets more and more intriguing with the heroine's superpowers “so to speak” coming alive. I loved following both lead character plots as they made their way through the jungle or even a high-risk pregnancy. The characters are richly thought out and the whole book is a page turner. Can’t wait to read the next book. I could so see this being a great tv series with this cast of characters.

Bigfoot or Big hoax?

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the characters, the inventive plot and such detailed world building in a first novel.

My attention was snatched up from the beginning to the very end and I'm dying to read the next book in the series. Fortunately for me, it's already been published! Highly recommended.

Loved the twists and turns in this book!

I gave this book five stars because it got me hooked with its characters and the plot which is richly woven together with great storytelling ability by the author. I think it's going one way and she goes off in a totally different direction. I love that in a story. Keep me guessing. The main protagonist, Lauren, is complex and very interesting. It took her a few chapters to grow on me because she wasn't super likable, but she won me over. The whole mythology of the storyline is quite enthralling and I'm looking forward to book 2 in this series. If you like a good Bigfoot (among other things...) tale, check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

What a great breakout novel for the author. I found myself really caring about these characters and wanting to see what happens next for them. Having lived in Washington state in the past, I loved all of the references to the locations and the Bigfoot culture there. Cant wait to read the next book in the series!

Through the Mists

Unbelievably other-worldly, yet set in the very real crime ridden jungles of Mexico, Betsey Kulakowski's Veritas Codex Paranormal Thriller Book 2, The Jaguar Queen, will have your blood coursing through your veins faster than a racer at the Indy 500.

Rowan and Lauren are back from the first book, still working on their travel show, The Veritas Codex. They, and everyone else are drawn to Mexico for December 31, 2012, which is the purported end of the world on the Mayan Calendar.

Chichén Itzá is ground central for the TV and film crews as well as the curious general public hoping for mystical auras and spectral manifestations from the other world. Rowan and Lauren aren't ready for murder and mayhem.

The Jaguar Queen is full of twists, unexpected warps in time and loaded with characters you'll love to love. And for aficionados of archeology, there are enough Mayan mythos to make your mouth water.

I have fallen head over heels in love with the Veritas Codex team and look forward to reading about many more of their adventures. If you love good, character based, well researched paranormal thrillers, you'll adore Betsey Kulakowski's Veritas Codex Series.

I love this book!!! I am truly intrigued by the adventures Lauren & her family manage to get into & out of! I adore Rowan & the growing family. The stories this family lead me into are delightful, but I have to do some studying to recheck the tales. Betsey K is as good at telling "yarns" as my grandfather was.

This is still as series of books that I cannot wait to start reading, but hate coming to the end of each one! Keep writing Mrs. Kulakowski. Your fans are waiting impatiently!!

I really enjoyed this debut novel by an up and coming novelist. The writing is well done. I really liked the characters. It kept me engaged to the point I was speed reading (to find out what was going to happen!!!!) and I had to slow myself down! I loved that it was set in the Pacific Northwest at Mount St. Helens - a place that I have actually been to. Can't wait to read the next book!

Books four and five have really stretched the paranormal! But, I enjoy them nonetheless. The family of Lauren and Rowen continues to grow and we have the pleasure of feeling like we know them better and better. The splashes of history and legend provide the backdrop that ties it all together. I just wish Lauren would stop getting hurt!

The author weaves the story bringing in relevance to history of long speculation. Reminding its of the golden rule. And that karma ALWAYS REIGNS SUPREME. The God's never suffer folks lightly! A GREAT READ, DON'T MISS IT!!

i thoroughly enjoyed this book. A different take on the Paranormal theme where only one person has insight or encounters with the creatures of myth. The protagonist is tough and has a complex and hidden back story. I look forward to reading others in this series.

I’d give this story five stars for fun to read! My only minor critique was the vague link between Peru and Washington and the radiation exposure. But the story made me want to keep reading anyway! On to the next in the series….

I enjoyed the characters and the tv show set-up that leads to an exploration of Sasquatch and aliens (and I suspect more in the books that follow). A quick, easy read that answers enough questions but leaves others open enough to intrigue. Check it out!
