I wasn't a fan of this book but a librarian gave it to me when I said my son liked cars. I felt like I had to check it out and I was surprised that my son seemed to really like it. So I guess I was wrong! I think that all the names of the cars were a bit confusing for my two-year-old so I wouldn't always say each car's name, I'd just say "truck" or something. But each page is pretty simple and we made a lot of "vroom" sounds while reading it. I also changed a lot of words to ones I knew that he would know. I'm not sure the pictures always tell the story that well but my son enjoyed looking at cars and I think he understood the basics of them driving and racing along and that one needed help.
An early reader with a story! Elbow Grease's brother Crash is having too much fun and doesn't want to stop to refuel or change tires. Guess what happens? I'll give you a hint: the title and cover are both spoilers.
