This is a Christian Mystery/Suspense Romance. The main characters in this book is Nick (wealthy) and Kaitlyn (Cop). This is a short quick read, but I enjoyed most of the read. I loved the beginning and middle, but I did not totally love the ending. I found the characters to be well-developed. I liked the storyline/plot, but some of the suspense I felt could have been written better. Also, I do not feel that Christmas was a big part of this story. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Love Inspired Suspense) or author (Terri Reed) via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review about how I feel about this book, and I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.

This is a Love Inspired Suspense book. I found it to be action packed and very unpredictable edge of seat reading. I liked how the chapters ended with a situation enticing readers to hurry on into the next chapter. Indeed it is very hard to put the book down. Great characters make the story come to life on the pages. Readers learn the gruelling task that law enforcement officers have to go though to keep law and order in their communities.
Nick Delaney gets a call from a friend who needs his help. He hears gun shots and his friend screaming before the call gets caught off. He seeks help from Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz and they drive up a mountain road in search of his friend. They come upon a car wreck where two men shoot at Nick and Kaitlyn. They are no match for the Deputy and flee the scene. Nick's friend is badly hurt and they find a small baby strapped in a car seat, unhurt.
Nick takes temporary responsibility for the baby. But it doesn't take long for him to learn that someone bad wants to kidnap the baby. They're willing to kill in order to get what they want and the thugs aren't discouraged easily. Again and again they attack Nick's well protected house . Deputy Lanz stays at Nicks house to act as a protector. Why do they want this three month old baby and what do they hope to gain by kidnapping her? Will kaitlyn be able to hold the thugs off and keep Nick and the baby safe?
Readers of Suspense Fiction or Love Inspired books will want to read this book.
I received a ARC copy from the publisher through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.

Okay. This is a darling little story! I really loved how the hero connected with the baby, I didn't really feel a connection with the heroine but I still found this to be a wonderful short mystery.

This book was action packed and had me on the edge of my seat. Also, the characters really made the story come to life. Who doesn't like a book with a baby in it?

Nick Delaney got a call from a friend who needed his help. While on the phone he heard gun shots and his friend screaming before the line went dead. Nick asked Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz for her help finding his friend. As they drove up a mountain road, they came upon a car wreck where two men started shooting at them. Kaitlyn was a better shot than them so they soon took off. Nick's friend was badly hurt and there was a baby in a car seat who, thankfully, was not hurt.

Nick wanted to take care of the baby for his friend. I loved how he tried so hard to handle the baby's care, even when he didn't know what to do most of the time. It didn't take long for him to realize that some bad guys wanted the baby and they were willing to kill to get what they wanted. They even attacked Nick's well-protected house several times. Deputy Lanz stayed at Nick's house to help with the baby and keep Nick and the child safe. Why does someone want this three-month-old baby?

It was amusing to see two people who didn't know much about caring for a baby, doing the best they could to keep the little one content. But the many attempts to come after them made things tense. I liked the romance that was beginning between Nick and Kaitlyn even when things were complicated. Overall this was a wonderful romantic suspense.

I really enjoyed Kaitlyn and Nick's story. Kaitlyn knows Nick already as they live in the same town but she doesn't like him. Nick is very wealthy and Kaitlyn assumes a lot of things about him. In her work in law enforcement, she has run across him and his family during certain cases before and although they haven't done anything wrong, she doesn't like the arrogance of wealth & its privileges. Nick likes Kaitlyn though and he's tried to ask her out before - it's gone nowhere! Kaitlyn doesn't date - period. Something in her past in holding her back that no one knows. However, when an acquaintance of Nick's crashes her car as she's coming to see Nick and they discover a baby in the car, suddenly, Nick & Kaitlyn must find out why thugs are after that baby! Kaitlyn begins to see a whole new side of Nick as they dodge bullets and thugs finding them at every turn. Maybe she's misjudged him all this time? There's a lot of action in this story and I enjoyed all the secondary characters too! I especially enjoyed the way Nick threw himself into taking care of a baby when he had no clue as to what he was doing but gave it his best shot! A great book!

In my review of Terri Reed's previous book, Secret Mountain Hideout, I said I was desperate for more Kaitlyn and Nick sizzle and spark and boy, does she deliver! They were secondary characters who jumped off the page into my overactive imagination.

While not listed as a series, this is the third book the author has set in Bristol Township featuring the men and women of the Sheriff's department. It totally reads well as a standalone though, so no worries if you missed the other books. But you might just be compelled to backtrack once you read this one!

Intriguing suspense, a complicated and well-thought out romance and plenty of danger make for a stellar read. Great balance between action and romance and I loved finding out what the deal is between these two. (I have seriously been conjuring up my own ideas since January's reading of Secret Mountain Hideout!) Kudos to the author for reeling me in and leaving me dangling for almost a year. :-)

So now, I'm just as anxious for more of this not-quite-a-series and I'd love to see a story focusing more on the horse patrol aspect of the Sheriff's department...in case the author is taking requests. Bwahahaha!

Thanks to Harlequin and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I read voluntarily and have honestly reviewed.

This is a Christian romantic suspense story and, although it is set around Christmas time, Christmas doesn't have much to do with the story other than in the title. When Nick Delaney decides to spend the festive season at home, rather then travelling to join his father and brother, he thought he was in for a very quiet time - but he certainly isn't! Hearing a gun shot during a phone call from a friend calling to ask for help as they near his home has Nick asking his secret crush, Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz for help. . . . . Get ready for more shootings, attempted kidnapping, a three month old baby needing caring for and the bad guys determined to get them in this action packed story.

This is a story where assumptions are proved wrong, where attraction wins out over fears but only after too many life threatening scenarios. It has great characters, plenty of intrigue and definitely kept me turning the pages. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who enjoys romantic suspense and love inspired stories.

The Christmas spirit is upon us but Kaitlyn, a member of the Mounted Police, doesn't have much time for tree decorations and the festive side of life when Nick asks her for help as a friend is in trouble. They rush to the rescue and find a woman and baby. Who caused the car accident that left a woman in a coma?

Kaitlyn and Nick find themselves in charge of a baby. Will sparks fly between them? Kaitlyn is not too into love, but will circumstances conspire to make her feel differently?

I was hooked from the start to the end by Terri Reed's writing. Suspense, action and real emotions as well as well-fleshed out characters. I was pleased to find Brady there and the fact that he had Down Syndrome made for a more diverse character lineup. I was pleased he was popular within the town.

Apart from the time of year and the tree decorations, there wasn't much "christmassy" about this.

Thanks to Terri Reed and Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense for my ARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

Nick find himself caring for a child when someone from his past passes from a car crash. Nick knows he didn't father the child contrary to the birth certificate and now its clear someone is after him and the child. Kaitlyn is a deputy is around to help Nick figure out what's going on and keep that child safe and figure out who is behind everything.

I really enjoyed this book I love a good mystery suspense novel. I loved that there was so much going on I couldn't help but stick to it though the end because I wanted to know what was going on. Then there was two people who don't really know much about caring for a child fumbling though the process doing the best they can But the numerous attempts to come after them make things all the more complicated and I thought it was interesting seeing how everything went though. I also appreciate that this book remained clean and enjoyable with the romance that was blooming between the two even if things were complicated. Overall great book I enjoyed it.

A single mother's car crash brings Nick Delaney and Deputy Kaitlin Lanz together as they work to protect baby Rosie, from the people who it appears will stop at nothing to get to her.

A fast paced, and engaging suspense, with intriguing protagonists. I liked how the baby brought two unlikely people together as they work to take care of a baby girl, and keep her safe. Kaitlin works hard to keep proving herself as a capable officer, she is close to her family and is passionate about her job. Nick protects himself with his flirty persona, acting the part of a rich playboy, hiding a passion to make a difference.

Nick and Kaitlin both have their own protection mechanisms, through the walls they build and the images they project, but caring for a baby tears all that away. I liked how they came to trust each other, and solve problems in order to keep baby Rosie safe.

Overall, a fast paced and entertaining read, I didn't want to put it down. I loved the strong themes of faith, family, and opening your heart to love. Definitely recommend to fans of romantic suspense!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Christmas Protection Detail is an enjoyable, action-packed and clean romantic suspense. It involves Nick and Kaitlyn. It seemed that it was part of a series, but I'm not sure. Previous interactions between Kaitlyn and Nick were mentioned in the context of other adventures, so I think there is some back story. Still, it did work well as a stand alone.

There is a lot of action from the beginning of the book and it sucked me right in. Even though it takes place over only a couple of days, I felt like Nick and Kaitlyn really grew to know more about each other. I found their HEA very believable and sweet. One of the things I really liked about this book was the way Kaitlyn was in the role of the protector. I also loved how Nick was more than happy to respect that role. I definitely recommend this one.

I thought it was pretty cheesy and cringy. I picked it up because it had a baby on the cover and what could be bad about a book about protecting a baby? It didn’t really seem to develop the characters very well, but when I got to the end I realized that there was another book that featured the main characters and maybe they were introduced better in that book. The main thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that during every tense moment the main characters seemed to be thinking about their relationship and how they were falling in love. It just didn’t seem realistic. But the plus was that this book was clean and the characters acknowledged God and took care of each other. I didn’t really like that the female character had this idea that she had to be the protector because she was a deputy.

Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz was enjoying the town's combination community Christmas party/retirement party for her former boss, Sheriff James Ryder. When she heard Nick Delaney come up to the ladder she was standing on to place her ornament on the community Christmas tree she was immediately annoyed when he tried to tell her where to place the ornament. She didn't need his unwanted flirtatious attention to spoil the party for her. The sooner she could escape from his presence the better. The next time Kaitlyn saw Nick approaching she wanted to flee but then she noticed the stressed look on his face. He had just received a call from an old friend, Lexi Eng asking him for his help, then he heard a crash and gunfire. They both raced to Nick's Humvee to investigate. When they found the location of Lexi's crashed car two men were lifting her out of it and those two men greeted their arrival with gunfire. The gunmen sped off when backup arrived. In the backseat of Lexi's car they found an infant in a car seat. An ambulance appeared and Lexi and the baby were rushed to the hospital. Lexi was in a coma in critical condition. The baby was checked out and was fine. Why were the two men after Lexi? Who sent them? Kaitlyn was determined to get answers.

Nick Delaney is second in line to inherit the Delaney billions. He has a reputation as a carefree playboy. For some reason Nick felt attracted to Kaitlyn Lanz from the first moment he met her. He knew about her reputation of not dating but he couldn't help himself when he ran into her. He flirted outrageously with her. Things between them changed after they raced to the scene of his friend's crash. For one thing baby Rosie came into his life. For another Kaitlyn was assigned to protect him and Rosie from the thugs who had previously attacked them and Lexi which meant they spent a lot of time together. Much danger swirled around them but despite of that Nick got to know and love Kaitlyn. Now to change Kaitlyn's opinion of him...

Christmas Protection Detail by Terri Wilson is a super enemies to lovers story. This story definitely had me on the edge of my seat while I was reading it. The action was non-stop. Kaitlyn and Nick faced danger at every turn. The bad guys just weren't giving up. I liked the protectiveness Kaitlyn and Nick felt toward each other. I also enjoyed seeing how Nick reacted to baby Rosie and how he adapted so well to care for her. This book was an exciting read.

Nick Delaney and Kaitlyn Lanz, a deputy, are about to find themselves involved with a baby. Circumstances are quite sensitive, especially due to the fact that the baby's mother died in a car crash. Not only do Nick and Kaitlyn work hard to protect the baby, they soon realize that they must worry about their own safety as well.

Their story begins when Nick gets a phone call from a friend desperately asking for help. Before he can go to her aid, the worst happens and he finds her hanging on for dear life, and her small baby tucked into the back of her car. Practically before Nick can figure out what to do he finds himself nearly shot, and that is how he comes into contact with a sheriff's deputy, Kaitlyn. Because Nick was friends with the baby's mother, he takes responsibility for the baby. He could barely act quick enough when he realizes that someone is after the small child. Kaitlyn steps in and protects the both of them.

This thrilling story starts with action and danger and it never lets up for a minute. Along the way, not only to Nick and Kaitlyn begin to care for one another, they fall for the baby as well. Excitingly, this was a very quick and satisfying read. I couldn't help but wonder how indeed things would work out for Nick, Kaitlyn and the baby, and I definitely enjoyed the journey as well as the conclusion.

Many thanks to Love Inspired Suspense and to NetGalley for this ARC for review. This is my honest opinion.

This is a Love Inspired Suspense and Christian book. It didn't lack for action though which is something I love. The characters are all well written and likeable. I enjoyed reading this book very much.

Nick get a call from him friend in need of some help. He hears gun shots and heads out to find his friend and see what his going on. When he (and Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz) arrive on the scene they are shot at by some men who flee.

While checking on his friend he discovers a baby who he takes responsibility for. He takes the baby home and Kaitlyn stays to help protect them both. What they discover is that people want this baby badly and will go to any length to get her. they are left to protect the baby and figure out why anyone would want to harm a baby.

As I said this was a wonderful read and first from this author for me. She has certainly found her way on to my tbr pile in the future.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. This review was originally posted on Wickedly Romance

As the title suggests, Christmas Protection Detail does include suspense and intrigue. That said, other than the story taking place during the Christmas season, the holiday has little to do with everything going on. Christmas themed or not, this one is a solid mystery. It has a good combination of action and tension to keep the pages turning, the characters are likable, and we get a sweet baby to ooh and aah over, which is always a surefire way to tug at the heartstrings. The book is a quick read, the story is well written and engaging, and the suspense has good buildup. All of that combined with characters you just want to root for, this one is a good way to while away a cold weekend.

My review today is on the Love Inspired Suspense, Christmas Protection Detail. Terri is one of my favorite LIS authors. I'm always excited when I get one of her books in the mail. This book is well written, action packed, and full of drama. I really liked the characters. I know you'll love it.

Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz is decorating for a Christmas party and retirement party combination for her boss when she almost falls off the ladder and is rescued by the one who caused the slip in the first place. Nick is the bane of her existence. His sole mission seems to be to annoy her. Suddenly he comes to her for help. Can they find this woman that's in trouble. Who is she to Nick? Is the baby his?

Nick Delaney is the youngest son of the Delaney billionaire. He was once a player but has changed his ways. He just can't seem to convince Kaitlyn of that. He is at the party when he receives a call from a woman telling him she is on her way to him. He hears gunshots, a bloodcurdling scream, and then metal crunching. He goes to Kaitlyn for help to find her. What they find is a girl he once knew being attacked. Two men are carrying her off. They drop her and start shooting when they pull up. Nick calls the sheriff for back up. The men escape. The woman is alive and asks him to keep her safe then passes out. They find a baby in the back seat. It's soon obvious someone is after them. The woman dies and he is determined to keep the baby safe. Can they keep the baby safe without loosing their own lives.

A dangerous journey trying to stay a step ahead of these killers. God has a plan for these two a plan for a hope and a future. God has a plan for you too, a plan for peace and not for destruction. Give him your heart and watch Him move in your life even in this chaos.

This was a Christian Suspenseful Romance and the first book I have read by this author. I was pleasantly surprised by the fun storyline and how well written it was. The characters were developed and easy to relate with. There was plenty of suspense and it was packed with action. I loved seeing how the hero and heroine that had never had experience with a baby approached caring for one. I would never have thought to look upon the web videos on changing a diaper! It was great seeing their concern and love grow for an orphaned child. Nick Delaney was a wealthy man with a reputation of being a player, but he has settled down in the small town of Bristle Township and trying to become part of the community. Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz feels the attraction to Nick but had been hurt in the past and refuses to allow him close but this Christmas she has no choice when he needs protection. While at the town's Christmas party Nick receives an unknown phone call from a woman who sounds like she has crashed. Kaitlyn and Nick respond to the call and discover a friend of Nicks and her baby in a wrecked car. Nick promises to protect the baby but doesn’t have any idea of the danger he puts himself in. Protecting Nick gave Kaitlyn insight into the real man behind the reputation and his big heart. The action and twists and turns kept my attention until the end. I loved the fact that Kaitlyn was the “protector” and Nick was a strong enough man to allow her to do what she loves. I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to future books by this author.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a very fast-paced read with action that was almost non-stop. From the first page when Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz responds to a car crash outside the Delaney compound, the action and the interaction between the main characters begins. Nick Delaney is a multi-millionaire (by birth) and should be haughty and arrogant and unapproachable. However, he is none of those things. When his friend Lexi is critically injured trying to come to him to escape ruthless villains, he volunteers to take care of her tiny infant Rosie and vows to do all that he has to do to protect her. With car chases, ambulance rides, gate-crashing weapons teams and various other heart-stopping action scenes, this book is not your typical laid-back Christmas romance. The suspense was thrilling and the developing relationship between Kaitlyn and Nick was subtle and mostly hidden for most of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed how invested both of them were in protecting Rosie and in finding Lexi’s secret and turning it over to the authorities. There were multiple surprises in the book that definitely kept me glued to the pages. I highly recommend this book to those who like a lot of suspense and a little bit of Christmas thrown in.

When Police officer Kaitlyn Lanz runs into Nick Delaney yet again, she is flustered. The man is rich and arrogant, and she wants nothing to do with him. He is frustrating and Kaitlyn is not even interested in being friends.

When Nick calls Kaitlyn and tells her, he got a call from an old friend and it sounds like she is in serious trouble. They rush to the scene to find a car crash, an unconscious woman, and a young baby. Nick vows to keep the baby safe until the police can find out what really happened. Now Kaitlyn finds herself in the Delaney mansion with Nick and a newborn baby which neither of them know how to take care of.

Just when they think they are safe; someone comes after the baby and they are racing against the clock to find out who it is and what they want. At every turn there is another obstacle and Kaitlyn and Nick are soon in the middle of a murder.

This story just grips you right from the first page. The suspense builds and the mystery just keeps getting more complicated and deadly. I loved Terri Reed’s writing style and the character development. I could not put this book down! The added touch of Nick and Kaitlyn caring for a newborn tugged at my heartstrings as well. Thank you so much to the author Terri Reed, Harlequin Publishing and NetGalley for an advanced copy of the book to review. It was fabulous! Christmas Protection Detail is a love inspired suspense novella by author Terri Reed.

Christmas Protection Detail is nonstop suspense. Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz has been hurt before so she really doesn’t care for wealthy Nick Delaney. Nick Delaney has strong feelings for Deputy Kaitlyn.

Lexi Eng calls Nick Delaney for help. Nick hears gunshots fired and Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz and Nick Delaney are called to investigate. They must find out why the antagonists want Rosie, Lexi’s baby. Once on the scene, Lexi asks Nick to make sure her baby is taken care of.

Christmas Protection Detail is a fast, energized read. It’s another reason why I love Love Inspired novellas. I give Christmas Protection Detail 5*/5*.

Awwww I love this book, it's a holiday romance read spiced up with suspense.
This one is a mixed between enemies to lovers and suspense. It's sweet and lots of actions and I can't put it down once I start. It all started with shooting, attempted kidnapping and a baby, yes it's not as simple as I thought it would be. There's a big why unanswered at the end that bothered me, but I can ignore it with the love story between Kaitlyn and Nick going on around, in the end it's an entertaining enjoyable page-turner read for me.
This book also has great characters, Deputi Kaitlyn is one badass woman, the one you can rely on when trouble's knocking on your door, and Nick is a sweet man, I love how protective he is towards baby Rosie. These two are perfect fo each other.
Good story, great characters, yup love it and if you're looking for a fast-paced light suspense romance read with holiday's vibe, this is for you.

Wow, this is a great book. Terri never disappoints me, her books just keep being great.
A combination of a wealthy bachelor, a baby, a deputy, and all kinds of unexpected danger and suspense keeps you on the edge of your seat. Deputy Kaitlyn Lanz doesn’t really like or understand Nick. But after his friend, which he hasn’t seen for a long time, shows up with a baby, and asks for his help, she’s tasked with protecting him and the baby, after his friend is in a car crash. People just keep trying to get the baby, and her mother isn’t able to tell them why.
Buy this book and find out if Kaitlyn is able to keep Nick and the baby safe. You won’t be disappointed, once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down.
I received an advance copy for an honest review, and my review is that it’s great, and I can’t wait for her next book.

I immediately recognized some of the characters in this book. Though it is a stand-alone book, it is also a continuing story set in a fictional town of Bristle Township, Colorado. (Terri Reeds previous books are 'Secret Mountain Hideout' and Buried Mountain Secrets'. They are also fabulous books!)

In this story we discover there is far more to the wealthy Nick Delaney than a handsome face and a heart-stopping smile. Why is this man still single? And, why did the single mother call Nick before that fateful crash? That's what Kaitlyn wants to know. Working closely with Nick Delaney will be a challenge on so many levels. But Deputy Kailyn Lanz needs to find out what happened to this little baby's mother so she can protect her. However, being forced to work with Nick is distracting, and dangerous.

This is another great book by Terri Reed. Highly recommend!

Talk about a action packed mystery suspense story! Never a dull moment for sure!
Christmas Protection Detail delivers so much, you can’t help but be drawn into the story. The two main characters, Nick and Kaitlyn, are very endearing and likeable. Throw in a very cute baby and you have a heartwarming story to delve into. The romance aspect is so sweet as Nick and Kaitlyn get to really know each other.
This is a clean romantic suspense that you will not be able to put down.
I hope to read more by Terri Reed. I enjoyed her writing style as it kept me engaged throughout the whole story.
Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for the opportunity to read this book for my honest opinion. All opinions expressed are my own.

Nick's been trying to get Kaitlyn's attention but she only sees him as a rich playboy. What will it take to change her mind? When they rescue a baby after her mother is killed, they spend time together. Now if he can get her to see him as a responsible person, he might have a chance. This is a delightful story with plenty of mystery. I like that characters from other of Ms. Reed's books show up. If you have not read her other books, it will not matter as she gives you plenty of background. Enjoyed Nick and Kaitlyn's story and watching them learn that first impressions are not always correct.

Kaitlynn didn't think much of Nick Delaney. He was the son of a billionaire. He got whatever he wanted, lived on that big house near the mountains. When his old friend was found in an accident near his home after she had called him for help they both left no stone unturned to catch the criminals who tried to kill her. Her infant daughter Rosie was found in the carrier in the back seat crying. Nick took her back to his home, nurtured her and vowed to take care and protect her.
This was a great love story. The heartwarming tone throughout Terri Reed's newest book gives us a wonderful Christmas story. In this season giving, repentance and love pick this one up.
