CW: Suicide of a friend discussed
This was fine.
I have a major issue with the author putting a character in a civil war solider costume and not clarifying which side. Also sudden drop of a discussions about suicide in the book.
Also her bestie did her dirty with the halloween costume.

“Seemed like she was more than no one. But whatever.” She is more. She’s mine.
I thought this was just an okay story. It didn’t really pull me in and I didn’t particularly understand the thing with the painting. Especially how Rex gets it and find out where she works. It just wasn’t for me.

Short and cute
This was a really cute Halloween insta-love story. Caryn goes to a costume party after her beastie, Minerva, makes her go. At the party she meets Rex & he's hot as all that and then some. This story was sp cute for being the length it is.

A side character was dressed as a confederate soldier wtf
I originally gave this two stars when I read it (10/04/21) but I’m lowering the rating to a 1 star. It doesn’t sit right with me how the author had one of the characters dressed as a confederate soldier. The story was that forgettable that I read it and forgot about it but someone else reminded me about the side character dressed as a confederate. What was the point of that costume?? The author made a conscious decision to write that and publish it. What was the point?

Caryn is a homebody and doesn’t want to go to the Halloween party her best friend Minnie, is making her attend as her wing woman. Tripping over her ghost costume she is saved from falling by Rex,he’s been hired as security for the party. The two feel an attraction to one another but before they can continue to explore it, Rex has to bear up a fight and Caryn makes her escape. They run into each other again when Caryn is taking a break from the party and her costume. They two talk and share a kiss, but when they are interrupted by his brother she goes back inside. But overhears Rex says she’s “no one” when his brother asks about her. Heartbroken she goes to look for her friend so she can leave. Rex finds her and confesses that he only said that so his brother would leave him alone and convince her to meet after the party is over. (Minnie is hooking up with the brother.) the two meet after the party and spend the night together n a cottage on the property. In the morning Rex goes to get breakfast, leaving Caryn a note. The note falls off the bed and she thinks he ditched her. It takes a month but Rex finds her and wins her back, cute epilogue with a baby.

This is a part of a multi author halloween series written by many of my favourite short read authors and Brynn is a particular favourite for me
Caryn really doesn't want o go out with her friends she is all over even thinking about finding someone to love and been shy she definitely doesn't want to go to a huge halloween party but they drag her along whether she likes it or not. Trying to sneak away she trips on her costume and would have had a nasty fall if she hadn't of been saved by prince charming Only problem is that Rex isn't that charming but as they get to know one another they find that in fact they are perfect for one another He has finally found someone who makes him want to live again and forget about what he had seen and done in the military and she has found someone who finally has given her a reason to believe in a HEA When trouble hits will these two retreat opr will they fight for what they have found together

Rex on the other hand has been dressed up like Prince Charming.

First things first; I love the cover of this book!
Spells in the night is the first book in the ‘’hot Halloween nights’’ series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline entertaining. When Caryn’s best friend drags her to a Halloween party she never expects to find love. After being burnt by it in the past, will Caryn run towards it or away from it?
The chemistry between Rex and Caryn is clear to see and I liked them together.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Caryn meets Rex when she goes to a Halloween Party with her best friend Minnie. Caryn doesn’t want to go but Minnie mentions their Pinkie Pact and Caryn has to go. While getting ready, Minnie grabs a sheet and puts hole in for Carny’s eye and tells her to go as a ghost. No one pays attention to Caryn in her ghost costume, so she moves to the dinning room. She stumbles in the fabric and starts to fall. Rex catches her fall and picks her up. He asks her if she alright. She finds out Rex is working security at the party. They introduce each other until Rex has to get back to work. Caryn tries to find Minnie again but now she is surrounded by several people. So she heads to the library. She finds a painting and reads the plaque. With more people coming into the library she takes the hall to a stone patio. Then she removes her costume. She hears someone call out to her. When she turns she sees Rex staring back at her, but he doesn’t recognize her. When she thanks him that’s when it hits him. Caryn finds out Rex’s brother is also working tonight and they are twins. He is attracted to her and wants to taste her. She is attracted to him and they let each other know. They begin to kiss. Rex’s brother interrupts them. She leaves taking her costume with her. Caryn is stunned when she hears Rex tells his brother she is no one so she goes to find Minnie. She finally finds her in the barn and tells her she is ready to leave. Mine tells Caryn she’s not ready to go so she asks her for her keys, she says the guy she’s with will give her a ride. Caryn trips while trying to leave and Rex catches her once again. He asks her if she’ll wait around for him he’s almost done for the night, it’s closing time. He finds her after everyone is gone and they walk the grounds talking. Rex takes her to the stone house on the property that he has access to and leads her inside. They get physical with one another going a few rounds overnight as they sleep. Rex wakes the next morning leaving a note for her. When she awakes she thinks he abandoned her like all the other guys in her life. After a month of thinking abut him she knows his last name but doesn’t want to look him up. Caryn is at work and going through new paintings when she happens upon one from Rex. She can’t believe her eyes. She goes to leave and tell security but it’s Rex. He shows her the note he left her that night explaining he went out for breakfast and would be right back. Nine months later Caryn gives birth to a little girl, that one night they forgot protection. They are now married.

So hot
This is the first time reading this author. Omg the book was absolutely amazing. I stumbled upon all 8 of these Halloween books by various authors. This month is perfect to read them.

Rex and Caryn. This story was so wonderful in every way. There was laughter, sadness and excitement throughout the entire book. Caryn doesn't want to attend the Halloween party. But she had a pinky promise with her best friend Minnie. So she goes and bumps into Rex. This man is all types of yummy. Tall, dark and panty dripping gorgeous. Halloween is always magically. Will it cast its spell on Rex and Caryn?

This is a hot and steamy romance read of Brynn Hale that I found amazing and I couldn't read fast enough. It's Caryn and Rex's story of romance and love, they have an awesome chemistry together and I found my self cheering for them and laughing with them. Caryn has given up on men but promised her friend she would go to a costume party when she runs into Rex. They hit it off and have a wonderful chemistry but a misunderstanding could ruin their new relationship. It's a well written and developed story that I highly recommend and I can't wait to read more.

Rex and Caryn meet by the most chance of encounters, and their attraction is instant. But this is more than just lust. They share their hopes and fears, thoughts and dreams. Rex finally has someone who believes him, who makes him believe in himself again. Cara finally has someone who treat her like a queen, who loves and supports her no matter what. A misunderstanding threatens to derail their future, but Rex isn't about to let go of the best thing to ever happen to him. With a slightly spooky element, this is a fun Halloween story. I love how this story is a little cheesy but makes you smile. It's also a little spooky and there were moments where I thought the story was going to delve into a little mystery or suspense. Caryn falls into Rex and it's history! I loved the spookiness and magic of the story. They put a spell on each other and I was sucked into their web.

Hot Halloween, indeed ;)
This was a fun series opener and I really enjoyed that, although it's a shorter read, it had all the details, angst, chemistry and love to make it a full read. This series is a multi author one, and I'm looking forward to checking out the other books and see what new authors I get to put on my fav list as I go ;)

An enjoyable start to the new series Hot Halloween Nights. The story is a sweet, steamy quick read. The characters are fun and fit well together. Their chemistry is great. Looking forward to read more in this collection. Each book is going to be from a different author. A great series to read at this time.

Sweet and quick
I so enjoyed this one, I especially loved the reference to the movie, Empire Records.
I was hoping for a bit more magic, but this was sweet and well thought out. There were a few errors that took me out of the story a bit and that is why it has four stars instead of five.

Great book
Enjoyed this book a lot. It was kind of a double romance story. Twins Rex and Lex meet the loves of their life at a Halloween event. The guys didn't know the girls last names so it took a while before they got back together. Thanks for a good book. Written by Cindy :)

Moonlight...
I enjoyed reading this story. I like this series of books, as this was a very creative introduction to a new to me author. It started off a wee bit slow, but when he caught her, literally, the excitement and interest increased significantly. Loved the epilogue. It was perfect for them.

For Caryn the spirits seem to be conspiring to make her be more than a wallflower but she has a hard time forgetting the past. I love Caryn’s friend Minnie and how she is there come hell or high water for her friend.

This was definitely a cute little holiday read! I loved how they were brought together and how he was determined to make himself whole before he found her again. Loved how his brother found love with her friend. Good read!
