Jaigar is hurt but it was worth it, the spaceship is operational again. But it’s figuratively speaking hanging together with chewing gum and duct tape. So they’re not completely out of the woods just yet.
The new authority needs a good explanation for all the secrets he’s been keeping from everybody as it’s getting harder to keep covering up the truth. He sees the perfect scapegoats in Jaigar and anyone else who already knows the truth. Pointing a finger at them and claiming they’re rebels who are responsible for their current situation would be the perfect solution to all his problems. A purge is coming. And Jaigar finds himself stuck right in the middle of it.
It’s a solid science fiction series that starts out really strong and intense with quite a few twists and turns, it stumbles a bit in the middle but finds its footing again once it gets to the climax of the overarching story. The first half of this third and final book is noticeably slower-paced, less intense and quite straight forward. It’s basically the quiet before the storm, as the second half does make up for it. That said, the ending is a bit messy and underwhelming. And it would have been so much more satisfying if there weren’t so many questions that remain unanswered.
I think I was a little disappointed in this one. I really liked the first book of the trilogy, but then it seemed to go a little downhill from there. The ending came up really quickly and I really wasn't that satisfied with it.
I love science fiction and good writing with a good story. This has all of it. Its written well from the first book to the last. I hope its taken further, there relationship that needs to be explored.
What a fantastic final book.in the set. I found myself hanging on to my seat as the twist and turns of the story. I highly recommend this book and the first two.
