Rate this book
Regan signs on to play consoler-and-chief after the body of Martha Varner, one of her favorite clients, is found and the woman's distraught daughter begs Regan to stop escrow from closing on a purchase her mother was about to make. Martha Varner's death, at first ruled suicide, is quickly ruled homicide. The dead woman's best friend thinks she knows who Martha's killer is. The police have a different suspect. And Regan? Well, she has her own ideas about who killed Martha Varner. She just can't imagine how complicated playing amateur sleuth will make her life and how dangerous her investigation will prove to be for her husband, Tom. The Two-Faced Triplex is the seventh book in the Regan McHenry Real Estate Mysteries series and probably the last of Regan and Tom's adventures. Dave, Santa Cruz Police Department Ombudsman and Regan's best friend, makes a return appearance and Harry, Regan and Tom's rescue cat is pressed into service as a decoy. As usual, action takes place in Santa Cruz County, but clues lead Regan to Carmel as she tries to find out what Martha wa doing in the days leading up to her murder.

Nancy is a happily former Realtor. Without a license to hold her back, she was free to share her opinions about all things real estate especially in Regan McHenry Real Estate Mysteries. Her background added authenticity to the series, but when she was ready for a new series, she turned to a former law librarian turned private investigator for guidance about writing Pat Pirard, the protagonist of PIP Inc. Mysteries.

Nancy has had a checkered career past: she's worked for the San Jose Mercury News, been a librarian, photo archivist, and been the business manager of Shakespeare/Santa Cruz.
Her work history reflects her philosophy: people should try something radically different every few years. Writing murder mysteries set in Santa Cruz is one of her newer adventures.

She has also had a go at editing. "Cozy Food," which has caused her to think that cozy writers are the nicest people out there, has recipes from 128 cozy mystery writers. "Santa Cruz Weird" was fun to put together but a nightmare to format causing her to swear off anthologies. However, she gave it one more go with "Santa Cruz Ghost Stories" which was great fun, not only for working withother writers, but for the stories.

She's also written "Mags and the AARP Gang" about a groups of 80-somethings who rob a bank to pay off the mortgage on their mobile home park, and used notes she took during her first year as an Airbnb host to write "The Truth About Hosting Airbnb."

Nancy is exploring short story writing, too, and adds to "Bodies in Bonny Doon" whenever she finishes a story. It's only available as an ebook right now, but it will eventually grow into a print book in the future.

This is the 7th in series of the Regan McHenry Real Estate Mystery Series. This was my first in the series. I was thrilled to be gifted a copy by the author at a local book sale. Thank you with gratitude to the author for your generosity.
I loved this book and found I was able to read it as a stand alone although it is 7th in the series. After finishing this I will be purchasing and reading the prior books in the series.
This is a delightful mystery perfect in every way. I loved the setting of our city of Santa Cruz and surrounding area. The location was described so beautifully the reader can enjoy our pretty seaside town as if they are present.
The mystery was well crafted with many twist and turns to keep me guessing. I was unable to guess the ending and found that such a pleasant surprise as I am a avid mystery reader.
The protagonist and supporting charcters are interesting and all add to the story. Regan is a smart savvy protagonist who solves the crime with a series of complex clues while balancing a successful real estate business . She wears many hats in the community as well as first rate sleuth. The variety of people included in the story were interesting and fun to read about.
This is a perfect mystery series for everyone who enjoys a good mystery with a seaside setting. I look forward to reading the previous books in the series. Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read and review The Two-Faced Triplex. I am cross posting this review.

Nancy Lynn Jarvis does it again! The seventh book in the Regan McHenry Real Estate Series is a big hit. It's a page-turner from the beginning, with lots of twists and turns, It has characters you love and characters you love to hate. And if you are really paying attention, there are lots of clues to help you solve the mystery. This is a quick read with humor and suspense. I definitely recommend this 5 Star novel for your reading pleasure!
