After saying goodbye to Bylia, Damon receives a new quest in the form of a vague missive from Princess Kastet. He and Vel are both summoned to meet with her, but Malon is wary of letting them travel together unsupervised.
Damon reluctantly makes a promise to his aesta to keep his hands to himself, or at the least, to seek her out during sleep with the dreamspell amulet instead of turning his lust toward Vel. It’s an arrangement which is quickly tested, as it soon becomes clear that the new journey may lead them far from home.

A decent continuation
This book didn't grab me as well as the others. The MC was a bit infuriating, lots of dumb choices. I suppose it's better than him being OP, there was at least suspense so to then getting into trouble. But for some reason I found I had to put this book down several times and take breaks.
The smut was still similar quality as the previous ones. I find the author's lack of returning the favor for the ladies interesting, one more thing I dislike about the MC is he's a selfish lover in that regard. All authors in this genre have a thing and this must be theirs I guess... I'll still push on with the series, hopefully the next book will rekindle my interest

Damon's adventures continue with him travelling. Adventures, misadventures, new and old villains are encountered. Relationships are explored, new connections are made with some great action scenes and surprising plot twists. A great continuation to an EXCELLENT story.

Anya has produced another great installment to this series. I swear they just get better and better. Couldn’t put it down. Foaming at the mouth for more.

Tense
I was not expecting the court intrigue and the surprises the story took. Shades of Game of Thrones. Damon’s tale continues to evolve. Anya merchant has created a very enjoyable story. I’m looking forward to the direction Damon’s story takes in the next book.

Better than last one. I think this one's my favorite. I love this smutty action packed series!! I love Damon -- he is hilarious, clever, & boy's got game!

Brilliantly enjoyable sexy romp with good story line, have binge read this series upto book 9 see book 9 review for full review.
