I’ve made a grave mistake. He won. I hate the very sight, thought, or mention of Asher. He’s hauled me deeper into a nightmare I can’t escape. And the further I’m pulled into it, the more I realize I’ve only seen a glimpse beneath the surface. The hell has just begun. But this round, I’ll make sure to inflict torment on my own personal Hades, even if it means neither of us are left standing. I have nothing left to lose. After all, he’s responsible for dragging me into his cruel underworld, forcing me to be his Persephone. I’ll enjoy every wicked moment it takes to bring his world crashing down. The battle between us has just begun.
Cruel Titan is Book 2 in the Golden Olympus Academy series. This book is Part Two of a duet and NOT a standalone.
This was the most confusing most infuriating book I have read in a long time. I'm sorry but the whole story of I see something, run out and everyone is out to get me, but hey this person might have answers- NO NO NO THEY DO HAVE ANSWERS but F them, I dont care and I am not going to listen to them because they suck routine - I just cant sometimes and in this book it took up SO MUCH OF THE BOOK. It's getting old people. I will say this the ending I didnt see coming and not to be like this - that shit was a stretch. So 2 stars from me. ugh
Wow, this book was so good I couldn't put it down! "Cruel Titan" solves the mystery you've been dying to know in "Wicked Titan." The ending was satisfying, Quinn was no damsel in distress. The only thing I don't like about her is that despite finding out all the lies after her father's death, she still had a soft spot for the people hurting her. She should have grown a back bone because of that. Anyway, the ending and everything in between absolved her naivety and magnanimity.
There was a lot that I liked about this duet, and I liked the first book, but this second book had some problems that really hampered my enjoyment.
Firstly, I am so, so sick of the plot device of the heroine who gets suspect information and gets so emotional about it that she both a. comes to the immediate conclusion that she's been betrayed, usually from the hero, and b. Refuses to even hear an explanation or get answers from the hero, while simultaneously desperately seeking them herself. I could conceivably see a person reacting that way initially, but authors drag this way too far, basing their plot on it, relying on it for the enemies to lovers, push-pull business. It's ridiculous. It's often billed as a demonstration of the character's strength of will, but amounts to the heroine throwing a temper tantrum, and it makes them really unlikable. It happens all the time, which blows because once is too much. I hate it, and it's essentially what happens in this book. And not only that, but it gets dragged out for the entire novel, so I spend the entire time just thinking that the girl has some undiagnosed mental disorders or something.
Then there's my second issue, which is that the heroine's quest for answers remains completely fruitless until the very end, in which all of the answers to the books' questions are dumped on us at once at lightning speed, and it's over. I mean seriously, at the end of the explanations I had 4 minutes left. And, the protagonists remained in their weird, allergic-to-a-conversation limbo until this data dump, so we get no insight into the way they react to this information and how they get back together. Our only time with them as a couple is in the epilogue. It's kind of a let down.
Still, thought parts of it were fun and it had potential. If a story comes out about Victoria and Elliot, I'll read it for sure.
Spoilers sorry ...not sorry First rating stands for book two . If it had been longer it would have been - stars . we roll on with some mild bullying .A lot of back and forth ,little to no suspense for it all to neatly fall in line and for readers to discover the flimsy excuse he had for trying yo make her hate him ,tho he was seriously sending crossed signals. The past is the future reason . okay her dad is not her dad .he was dating someone else that got killed in an accident all the adults.were in car at time . slap.lots of money the only way rich people can do and we get swept under rug ...even tho it was a accident just as they said .long game for dead girls mother ..why ,well I don't really know unless it was age and she want to play out what she thought happened and make the real farther suffer like she did .her not dad supposed to marry her mother so he can punish her for the death of girlfriend and raise Nathan's child only for revenge knowing she would die at a certain age ..the master mind of all separation and wanting to make his son suffer is the good old rich grandpa ,cause nothing says I love you son like threats to separate the love of your life and lie about a granted child and pay future mom of dead girl for long haul of a stupid, didn't make sense plan. It just didn't fit .she waits 18 years . Her dad that raised her ,we never really get clarity, raised her to send to slaughter? Yea just holes and holes .Different birthday, villain mom when she wasn't ,saw that coming. Then to have it all just come together with everybody in room.So a nice bow can be tied . Major complaint is this for an long haul revenge I needed more to make me believe that this grieving mother waiter 18 years for revenge and set all the chess pieces up . And her dad raising just only to be killed ? No just wasn't there . So prolly not reading rest of the books but don't get me wrong this was fast and simple to read and maybe someone else will love it . Just missed the depth for me .
Well that was not the ending I was expecting!!!! Talk about an impressive ending. I absolutely loved everything about this book and he fact it kept you guessing till the very end just makes it so much more amazing.
Asher really did everything in his power to protect Quinn even if it didn't seem that way at the time. Quinn and Asher are a great couple and I am so glad they finally got their happily ever after the deserve it after everything they went through.
Definitely not ready for these books to end so off to see what the deal is with Elliott and Victoria.
A.J. Logan you are a wonderful Author really have loved this journey so far and can't wait to see the rest unfold.
This is book two in the Golden Olympus Academy series and the conclusion of Asher and Quinn's story. Please be sure to read book one before reading this book because it gives you the beginning of their story.
With all the secrets and lies Quinn has been told she doesn't know who to trust. Everything with Asher is falling apart because he can't seem to be honest with her about what's going on. This is a great read and I highly recommend it!
What a way to keep you guessing!! This was an excellent ending to the book. I’m a little unhappy with Ashers character. I can’t understand why he was so horrible to Quinn if he really loved her.. It just didn’t match the final truth in my opinion. Otherwise, this story was amazing! The characters were well developed and easy to relate to. The twists and turns were completely unexpected and awesome. Lastly, the sex scenes were smokin hot! Recommend this book and can’t wait to read more from this author.
What an awesome conclusion to an amazing part of the series! The bullying was out the gate crazy, especially when you look at it from Quinn’s perspective and just as you think you’ve got the storyline it turns out to be something totally different. I mean that stunt Asher pulled with Connor? F*** me I didn’t see that one coming at all! Or all the other stuff but there were like hints but not enough to be like “it was this person or that person and that’s the motive!” Anyway gonna stop rambling.
Alpha male, check. Broken girl, check. Questionable parents, check. Blackmail and murder plot, double check. Quinn and Asher are in love, but the mystery around her father's death could be there undoing. Unraveling the backstory of Quinn's life is one of the things that draws you into the story, but rooting for Asher to win his girl is why you really stay to the end.
I was very disappointed in the way this book ended. It almost felt like the author was getting tired of writing and just rushed the ending. There was so much build up to the mystery, and it was all wrapped up in less than 5 pages. Additionally, Asher & Quinn’s relationship was way too rocky, and everything was “forgiven” at a very odd time in the book. This book at so much potential to bring more suspense, but it utterly failed.
this was lowkey dumb- like they spent damn near MOST of the book fighting and doing inexcusable things to each other. Like I'm fine with them being dicks to each other, but here the way those two were executing it just felt like a joke almost. It was just juvenile and ultimately pointless. The FMC kept yelling and didn't like to listen to reason at times too, which was annoying. They should've spent the first book getting their sh!t together and this possibly solving the 'mystery'.
Man!! So many twists and truths were revealed, it made my head spin. I didn't see any of that coming. While I was disappointed that Quinn couldn't forgive Harlow after forgiving Asher so easily. I was happy that Quinn was made whole in the end. I hope Victoria and Elliot get a story
I loved the ending of this 2 part series. I wished the epilogue had given us a little bit more info. What did she end up in college for? Did her and asher go together? Do they live together? The story was good and the twists and turns kept me binge reading this until the end. Loved Asher.
This second book was good, had a gripping story that I couldn't put down and finished it in three hours. The twisted saga of who was responsible was written well, twisting and turning right until the very end. I love Elliot, a supporting character and look forward to reading book three and four that focus on him.
I really like the suspense of the story. I definitely kept guessing about who the villain was. I love the characters and I hope that there will be more from the other characters!!
Loved this series, such an emotional book though, and if you are triggered about emotional abuse then be careful I didn’t think I would be but it got a bit much after so much of it...
This books was better than the first but what I didn't care for was the quick ending. These two books built up to end so quickly in just a few short pages . Anticlimactic for me.
Asher and Quinn were perfect for each other. I really enjoyed their story and the characters that were with them. I really loved Nathan and Candace grew on me too. I loved the twists in this book. I will definitely read more from this author!!
This book was so good, I couldn’t put it down! I loved the changing point of views and the ending was great as I was surprised by who was behind everything! Will be keeping up with this author for sure!
Good enough, but not as enjoyable as the first book. The back and forth between MCs got to be a little much and the FMC did some outright dumb things. The ending "twist" was convoluted.
Wow! This has completely had me hooked since the first book, love finding out who did it! And discovering who was keeping all the secrets and the lust filled romance was hot!
Quinn finds the truth of what she been looking for. A lot of hard truth hit her hard, but with Asher bullying her, she proves that stronger than she thinks.
I liked the first book way better than this second one, which felt rushed and I’m still confused about the explanation of how everything went down lol 😆
