The story of Deadlands continues. The Last War on Earth destroyed the Tunnel, the galactic wormhole between home and the colonists of the Faraway System. This left the colonists trapped in deep space mining colonies or on the lone habitable and often hostile planet of Banshee. Ancient and evil creatures called the skinnies saw their chance to strike, rallying Banshee's native anouks to wipe out the invaders. Now the only ship capable of traveling between systems, Hellstromme Industries allegedly-haunted Unity, has returned. But with its terrible cargo comes a final Reckoning. Deadlands: Lost Colony details this grim and gritty world, new Edges & Hindrances, equipment, revised vehicles and spaceships, new rules for the Harrowed and other Arcane Backgrounds, an adventure generator, bestiary, and a complete Plot Point Campaign all updated for the Savage Worlds Adventure Edition!
I read this book cover to cover, but unlike the last time I did this with a game book I jumped around.
For example in the opening info it mentions a person, then I jump to No Man's Land, then the Marshal's section and finally the Bestiary to try to get the whole picture. I also just read certain sections when they caught my interest.
So like the last set of Deadlands: Reloaded books this follows the same play book and lay out.
What makes this unique that it picks up the story that ended Deadlands: Hell on Earth: Classic, The Unity story and what happened to the Reckoners after being crash landed on Banshee.
This book also gives you rules for unique Arcane Backgrounds and Space Ships and differing gravity.
We have only made characters so far, but will begin playing the plot point campaign next week.
There is also Maw of Oblivion which hunts the 2nd horsemen, with the 3rd campaign book on Backer Kit soon with plans for the 4th and final part of the story.
This is an excellent supplement for the Savage Worlds system, but it does leave some of the setting vague if you haven't read the old Lost Colony supplement for the original Deadlands RPG. If you have, or are willing to flesh out some motivations and structure of the NPC organizations, you will enjoy it more.
